(EAW Intro plays.)
(“Martian” by Takeoff, the official WILDCARD 1 theme, starts playing as the we see a montage of multiple Battleground stars throughout the months, including those from previous years during Battleground’s previous run. As the beat drops, the camera shows the Prudential Center as the fans start cheering as the pyro goes off. We transition to the announce table, where Ben Knight and Clark Ruggerio are dressed to impress, smiling wide.)
Ben Knight: Welcome everybody to the Battleground exclusive event…WILDCARD 1! I’m here with my partner…
Clark Ruggerio: And I’m Clark Ruggerio! We have an incredible card lined up for you fans here at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey—I’m telling you, it’s going to be a downright SLOBBERKNOCKER for our farewell show tonight. After tonight, all of our Battleground Elitists will receive their main roster contracts, regardless of points—rendering Ben and I absolutely useless on commentary after the evening’s events!
Ben Knight: Save the sob story, Clark! I’m more interested in the action we’ve got going on tonight! How about all the incredibly Tag Team action we’ve got going on tonight?! Vizzy and Bowie Grey teaming up against The Revolution in hopes to finally put an end to the story we’ve seen building up over the course of the last few weeks!
Clark Ruggerio: Or what about our MAIN EVENT? Former Voltage Star Xander Payne going one-on-one with one of EAW’s newest developmental stars—Myles?! That’s a dream matchup if I ever had one!
Ben Knight: Not sure if that’s what a dream matchup really is, Clark, but to hell with it—we’ve got Karina-Ann extracting her revenge on Kaiva Santos coming up right here, right now!
(The camera cuts to Maria Del Rey in the ring.)
Maria Del Rey: The following contest is scheduled for one fall!!!
(“Sleep Apnea” by Chevelle hits as Kaiva Santos makes her way to the ring looking all business and ready to kick some ass.)
Maria Del Rey: Introducing first from São Paulo, Brazil weighing in at 128 pounds she is “The Devil’s Daughter” KAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVA SANTOSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!
Ben Knight: Damn Kaiva is a legit badass. I try to avoid her in the halls backstage to be honest.
Clark Ruggiero: Damn you a pussy lmao scurred of a woman lmao.
Ben Knight: You right… I’m sure that’s why I saw you in the dumpster when she came out in the parking lot. You were just looking for something.
Clark Ruggiero: A man gotta eat. You think they pay us Battleground commentators shit? Nah they are giving Deadprez and Nick Angel all the real money!
(“Siren Assassin” by Kristine Elezaj hits as Karina Ann makes her way to the ring blowing mocking kisses out at the audience as neckbeards pass out from her very presence as she walks by.)
Ben Knight: God damn Karina Ann is fine af. Holy shit I don’t know if I can focus on commentating on this match.
Clark Ruggiero: So unprofessional smh. Karina Ann is a true professional in every sense of the word so how about you do your job for once Ben. Otherwise I can call up the bosses and maybe they can give me your paycheck and I can do this show solo. I don’t care how much Battleground is failing in the ratings. I need money! I have kids! I have wives!!
Ben Knight: Did you just say wives? As in more than one?
Clark Ruggiero: Quiet the match is starting…
(DING! DING! DING!)
Ben Knight: We are underway as Kaiva Santos and Karina Ann lock up in the ring. Kaiva shoves Karina off of her as she falls back onto her knees but then quickly returns to position. Karina charges in taking down Kaiva with a hard spinning Back Elbow Shot to the face! Karina with the cover!!!
ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Clark Ruggiero: Nope Kaiva quickly kicked out at one! Karina back up to her feet first as she climbs up to the top rope… but Kaiva quickly charges in knocking her down on the top!!! Kaiva climbs to the top… She leaps! HURRICANRANA OFF THE TOP! SUPER HURRICANRANA!! THE COVER!!!
ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TWO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ben Knight: Kaiva Santos with a near quick victory here tonight as she gets back up and measures her opponent… She charges in… Big Boot! NO! Karina Ann dodged out of the way and Kaiva kicked the turnbuckle padding! She turns around! Karina is waiting as she lifts Kaiva up… Flapjack connects!!! Kaiva bounces off the mat from that flapjack as if the ring was a trampoline and comes back to her feet! But Karina is waiting behind her with a School Boy rollup!
Clark Ruggiero: School Girl you mean.
ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TWO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ben Knight: Karina has the tights!!!
THRRRRRRRRRRR-
Clark Ruggiero: No! Kaiva somehow kicked out even with the tights being held! Karina Ann’s dirty tactics failing here tonight! Karina pulls on her hair in frustration but she needs to keep her cool. That is something that comes with experience but a well timed rage can sometimes be productive! Karina screams in anger as Kaiva pulls herself up in the corner! She clenches her teeth and charges in with a Lariat! No! Kaiva got the boot up catching Karina in the face! Tonight it looks like the relentless anger tactic did not work! Kaiva with a Spinning Heel Kick as she kicks the teeth right out of Karina’s mouth!
Ben Knight: I don’t think she actually lost any teeth but damn that was a hard kick! Kaiva now bashing the head of Karina in with a series of hard forearms to the face and mouth! Karina may be knocked out cold from those MMA like strikes! The cover!!!
ONE!!!!!!!!!!!
TWO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Clark Ruggiero: But Karina finds a way to kick out! Don’t hit her in the face anymore please Kaiva! She is too beautiful for that!
Ben Knight: I’m sure that she will take your request into consideration Clark. Kaiva grabs the arm of Karina as she wrenches the wrist! A good old fashioned wrist lock! I love it! But Karina is struggling so Kaiva puts her knee down hard onto her face keeping her down on the mat! Damn the ruthlessness! Kaiva back up as she leaps and drives the knee right into the face of Karina! She waits… and then leaps again with another hard knee right to the face!!!
Clark Ruggiero: But Karina moved out of the way! Karina back up as she connects with a series of swift kicks all over the body of Kaiva Santos! Karina making a comeback out of nowhere! Kaiva falls back into the corner as Karina charges in with a Running Knee! Kaiva tries to power back up but Karina charges in catching her in the face with a Big Boot! Karina is rolling as Kaiva falls face first in the ring and looks out of it! Kaiva gets up as she turns around dizzy and Karina locks her head in her arms and blows a mocking kiss to the crowd.
Crowd: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Ben Knight: KARINA ANN WITH THE MONEY SHOT!! IT CONNECTS! THE COVER!!!
ONEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!
TWO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THRRRRRRRRRRRRREEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(DING! DING! DING!)
Maria Del Rey: Here is the winner of the match… KARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRINA ANN!!!
(“Siren Assassin” by Kristine Elezaj hits to boos from the crowd as the referee raises up Karina Ann’s hand in victory.)
Clark Ruggiero: Well I assume that the crowd is booing either because they don’t like Karina’s attitude or her dirty tactics earlier in the match. But she came out the winner and she did it in a fair way in the end!
Ben Knight: That is true Clark but the fact that she was willing to go dirty suggests she may continue to head down that route in the future. These fans especially the long-time ones know a villain in the making when they see one! Anyway congratulations to Karina Ann and a good showing as always from Kaiva Santos!!!
(The camera cuts to a commercial featuring Eric Crane’s dad as he reveals his favorite EAW wrestlers to a large crowd of thousands of people.)
(The camera cuts to Maria Del Rey in the ring.)
Maria Del Rey: The following contest is a tag team match and it is scheduled for one fall!!!
(“The Night” by Disturbed hits as Jason Ryan and Eric Crane make their way to the ring together. Eric is shown arguing with Jason several times who just slaps him hard across the face and continues to walk to the ring.)
Maria Del Rey: Introducing first they are the tag team of JASON RYYYYYYYYYYYYAN AND ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIC CRANE!!!
Ben Knight: Well in recent weeks it appears that there may be some issues between these two men. Last week arguable Jason Ryan cost them the tag team match and you could even argue further back than that he has been costing Eric Crane his matches. I’m not so sure this team is going to work out…
Clark Ruggiero: Are you joking Ben? Jason Ryan is Wrestling’s Redemption!! Eric Crane needs to know his place in the world and remember that he wouldn’t even be here if it wasn’t for Jason Ryan! Eric should be grateful to be partners with a man such as he!
(“Scars” by I Prevail hits as Denis Cercel and Celes Dumont make their way to the ring together. Denis is heard ranting in Romanian at Celes who nods and smiles as if she understands.)
Maria Del Rey: And their opponents… they are the tag team of CELES DUUUUUUUUUUUMONT AND DENIS CERRRRRRRRRRRRRCEL!!!
Ben Knight: This team scares me. They are legit psychopaths!!!
Clark Ruggiero: I’m triggered by your flippant attitude against mental health concerns Ben. Psychopathy is a serious issue affecting many Americans and Romanians alike!
(DING! DING! DING!)
Ben Knight: We are underway as it looks like Jason Ryan is ordering Eric Crane to start the match as he faces off against Celes Dumont. Intergender action right here tonight on Battleground! Equal rights! Equal fights!
Clark Ruggiero: Oh shit Celes just kicked Eric’s head off! He didn’t even see that coming. She just charged in… lunged and kicked upwards! God damn girl!
Ben Knight: Eric Crane falls back into the corner as Celes begins digging in hard with kicks and punches beating the crap outta him! Eric falls back into the ring as Celes grabs him by the arm… But Eric uses his strength to pull her back into the corner! No! Celes leaps up to the top rope! But a well placed punch to the face puts Celes down on the top! Celes fighting back! Eric falls back! Celes up on the top! What is she gonna do!
Clark Ruggiero: But Eric Crane leaps to the top rope! Superplex from the top connects!!! Eric lands on top for the cover!!!
ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TWO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ben Knight: Kickout by Celes! Eric Crane grabs Celes picking her up… But… Aww god damn it not again…
Clark Ruggiero: Jason Ryan just tagged himself in! The crowd booing as Eric Crane looks annoyed and Jason Ryan enters the ring smiling. Jason holds the ropes open for Eric to leave as he cockily grabs Celes and begins to rain down punches on her! Jason Ryan with a Snapmare takedown as he tries to squeeze the life out of Celes… but Celes rolls through! Celes back up as she locks up with Jason Ryan and slams him hard back into the corner! Jason now with that cocky smile wiped off his face as Celes begins to light him up with a series of hard chops to the chest!!!
Ben Knight: Celes grabs Jason and Snapmares him down into the ring as she runs off the ropes and makes the tag to Denis Cercel! Celes comes back and kicks Jason Ryan hard in the face before rolling out of the ring! But here comes Denis with a Running Enzuigiri!!! Jason Ryan just got the shit kicked out of him! Eric Crane now begging and pleading for Jason to come over and tag him! But Jason just gets up and goes back to fighting Denis!
Clark Ruggiero: Damn what an absolutely brave man! The ultimate madman right here ladies and gentlemen!
Ben Knight: Yeah but Denis was lying in wait! THE ROMANIAN DESTROYER CONNECTS WITH THE ROMANIAN STUN!!! THE COVER!!!
ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TWO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(DING! DING! DING!)
Maria Del Rey: Here are your winners the tag team of DENIS CERRRRRRRRRRRRRCEL AND CELES DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMONT!!!
(“Scars” by I Prevail hits as Denis Cercel and Celes Dumont celebrate in the ring together. Eric Crane is shown shaking his head in disgust at Jason Ryan as he doesn’t even check on his partner in the ring.)
Clark Ruggiero: Wow Eric is a really selfish guy! After everything Jason has done for him! He didn’t even interfere to break the pinfall!!
Ben Knight: Well maybe he thought Jason would kick out. He’s not responsible for babysitting his partner… Either way tough loss yet again for this team as Denis Cercel and Celes Dumont pick up a big win here at Wildcard!!!
[COMMERCIAL BREAK]
Maria Del Rey: The following contest is set for one fall! Introducing first, from Cologne, Germany, weighing in at two hundred and thirteen pounds…The Kaiser….Xavier Arnold!
(‘Mein Herz Brennt’ by Ramstein plays as Xavier Arnold makes his way to the ring, largely ignoring the boos of the crowd.)
Clark Ruggiero: Ben, after a hot start Xavier Arnold has hit a few speed bumps on his way to the main roster, but he’s looking to correct his course here tonight at Wildcard! What do you think of his chances?
Ben Knight: I think Xavier is one of the most tenacious competitors I’ve seen step foot in an EAW ring! He’s going to step up here tonight, I believe, but Solomon Hill isn’t a pushover at all!
Cori Simmons: Introducing next, his opponent, from Jerusalem, Israel, weighing in at two hundred and fifty three pounds, The Minister of Mayhem, Solomon Hill!
(As ‘Native Blood’ by Silent Present begins to play the lights dimmer to near-black. An eerie noise flows through the speakers in the arena as nothing is seen but flashing lights in the crowd and glimpses of the words “No Soul” panning on the television’s screen. Suddenly, the room lighting is more concentrated as red/orange flashes beam from the entrance stage with smoke manifesting from the back in sync with the opening vocals. A hooded Solomon Hill emerges from backstage, his intense eyes cloaked by his jacket as he takes a couple of steps forward before halting. He stands still, showing no expression and letting people react to him however they feel necessary. The Minister of Mayhem comes to life following the first guitar break and begins heading down the entrance stage to approach the ring. His hood falters, showing a stoic expression.)
Clark Ruggiero: Hill is a physically impressive specimen, and one of the largest opponents that Arnold has faced.
Ben Knight: That’s right, Clark, standing at six and a half feet tall, Solomon is going to have nearly every physical advantage over Xavier.
(Cori exits the ring as the referee calls for the bell to begin the match.)
(DING! DING! DING!)
Clark Ruggiero: Here we go, Arnold and Hill tie up, Solomon overpowering the smaller man and backing him into the corner! The referee moves between the two, forcing the break, which Solomon gives…NO! He slapped the taste out of Arnolds mouth as he was backing away! The Keiser is holding his mouth in agony as the referee admonishes Hill!
Ben Knight: Arnold wipes his jaw in anger and shoots in at Hill! Double leg takedown! Xavier grabs the arm of Hill and looks to be applying a submission! Solomon was initially stunned by the quick takedown, but is now fighting back, and both men are struggling….HEADBUTT! Xavier cracked the bridge of Solomon’s nose with a headbutt, and applies the hammerlock submission! The referee is checking Hill…..He’s refusing to give up and seems to be working his way toward the ropes…ROPE BREAK! Arnold slaps the mat in frustration as the referee forces the break, and Solomon pulls himself toward the corner with the ropes.
Clark Ruggiero: Arnold moves toward the corner to further his attack as Solomon is trying to shake the stars from his eyes after that vicious headbutt! Arnold props Hill into the corner and delivers a vicious chop!
*SMACK*
Clark Ruggiero: Solomon is holding his chest in pain! The Keiser drags Solomon out of the corner…GERMAN WAR MACHINE! The whirlwind of elbows and knees followed by a suplex has left the Minister of Mayhem flat on the mat! Arnold is moving to end this match early!
Referee: One! Two!
Clark Ruggiero: KICK OUT! Despite being stunned by that initial headbutt, Solomon still has fight in him as he powers out of the near fall attempt! Xavier slaps the mat in anger, but quickly grabs the top of ill’s head, and hooks the arm for a suplex…NO! Solomon manages to counter with a knee to the head! SNAP SUPLEX from Hill, who is back on his feet and hits the ropes…dropkick! He nails Xavier right as he is standing from the suplex! Solomon is looking to build some momentum now, and pulls Xavier to his feet! Swinging neckbreaker! The tides of this match have turned!
Ben Knight: Solomon climbs the turnbuckle…moonsault! Solomon goes for the moonsault, but Xavier moves! Arnold scrambles to his feet and bounces off the ropes…Basement dropkick to the head of Hill, and just like that Xavier Arnold looks to be back in control of this match! The Kaiser sizes Hill up…SUPERKICK! Solomon is knocked immediately back to the mat, and looks to be in trouble here! Arnold goes for the pin! NO! Hill’s foot fell across the ropes, the referee is telling Xavier that no pin can be made, and the Keiser seems to have finally lost his cool! Solomon is starting to stir as Xavier backs the official into the corner, he needs to be very careful here, otherwise he’s going to be disqualified!
Clark Ruggiero: Xavier doesn’t notice that Solomon has made it to his feet, the official does, though! SECOND WIND! The official dodges just in time as Arnold is caught with the running big boot in the corner from Solomon hill! No Soul indicates he’s done, and seems to be setting Xavier up…EMPATHY BYPASS! The powerbomb lungblower connects and Solomon goes for the pin!
Referee: ONE! TWO! THREE!
(DING! DING! DING!)
Cori Simmons: Here is your winner by pinfall, THE MINISTER OF MAYHEM, SOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOMMMMMMMOOOOOOOONNNNNNN HIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!
(‘Native Blood’ by Silent Present begins to play as the official holds the arms of Solomon Hill up in victory, still trying to shake off the effects of the headbutt from Xavier.)
Ben Knight: Xavier Arnold had the early advantage, but lost his cool just when he needed to stay level headed the most!
Clark Ruggiero: That may be, but take nothing away from Solomon Hill who took everything the Keiser threw at him and still managed to keep coming!)
(Commercial hyping the new season of True Vixens, teasing several possible cast members, plays.)
(Camera cuts back to Maria Del Rey in the center of the ring.)
Maria Del Rey: The following match is a tag team match, and set for one fall! Introducing first, the team of Bowie Gray and Vizzy!
(‘Blood/Water’ by Grandson plays as Bowie Gray walks out on the stage and waits for his partner. His music fades out as ‘Brains Flew By (1964 version)’ by Westside Gunn plays as Vizzy walks out on stage. The two give each other a nod and make their way to the ring.)
Clark Ruggiero: Vizzy and Bowie are looking to make an impression against the Revolution here tonight, Ben, what do you think their keys to victory here are?
Ben Knight: They’ll need to stick to whatever game plan they have in place and not let the Revolution shake them with their team work, it’s going to be a big task, but I think they may be up to it!
Maria Del Rey: Introducing their opponents, weighing in at a combined weight of four hundred and ninety three pounds…The Revolution!
(‘Give ‘em Hell, kid’ by My Chemical Romance plays as Jack Smith and Joshua Nicholas make their way to the ring accompanied by a laser show.)
Clark Ruggiero: These two, in addition to being Battleground’s only tag team, have proven themselves to be very in synch, Bowie and Vizzy are a challenge they feel completely up to!
Ben Knight: The Revolution is looking to assert their dominance here tonight, we’ll see if things go their way though, looks like Maria is leaving the ring and the referee is calling for the bell!
(Ding! Ding! Ding!)
Clark Ruggiero: So it’s Bowie Gray and Jake Smith getting us started off tonight! Bowie grabs Jake in a side headlock, but Jake easily elbows his way out of it. Bowie tries again, but Jake slips through and locks his arms around Bowie’s waist. He wrestles Bowie down to the mat, grabs him a front face lock and keeps him grounded. Bowie fights back with a body scissors and Jake has to let go. Bowie gets back to his feet right as Jake does, and both men lock up again. They jockey back and forth for position with Jake using his size advantage to press Bowie against the ropes. He lets go for just a moment, but immediately wraps his hands around the neck of Bowie Gray. The referee immediately steps in and starts administering the count, and Jake breaks it right before he has too.
Ben Knight: Bowie fires back with a kick that catches Jake in the midsection. He begins firing off a series of rights and lefts. Jake staggers back and Bowie follows it with that diamante kick. He immediately grabs Jake and plants him right down in the ring with that double knee gutbuster! Bowie quickly goes for the cover!
ONNEEE!!!!
TTWWWO-
Clark Ruggiero: KICKOUT! Jake Smith kicks out and Bowie grabs him by the hair and drags him to the corner. Vizzy makes the tag and climbs in the ring. He begins stomping away on Jake, and that’s really unfortunate. Vizzy is one of the biggest men in all of EAW, not just on Battleground. Jake Smith is in a lot of trouble right now and Vizzy easily scoops him up and presses him high in the air.
Ben Knight: Vizzy drops him right down on the ropes! Jake slowly drags himself back up but once he does, Vizzy levels him with a huge European uppercut! Jake is sent into the corner, and to his credit, Bowie holds up his hands, showing the referee he’s not trying to cheat.
Clark Ruggiero: Noble.
Ben Knight: Vizzy pounds away on Jake, punching him over and over in the stomach. This is probably not the start either member of the Revolution wanted and Jake Smith desperately needs to make the tag to Joshua Nicholls. Vizzy throws Jake into the center of the ring and makes his way over there! He reaches down to scoop up Jake Smith… BUT JAKE SMITH RAKES HIS FINGERS DOWN VIZZY’S FACE! JAKE JABS HIS FINGERS IN VIZZY’S EYES AND ROLLS HIM UP!
ONNEEE!!!!
TTWWWOOO-
Clark Ruggiero: VIZZY POWERS OUT BUT THIS MATCH WAS CLOSE TO BEING OVER! JAKE SMITH QUICKLY SCRAMBLES OVER TO HIS CORNER AND TAGS IN JOSHUA! JOSHUA BEGINS FIRING AWAY ON VIZZY WITH SEVERAL STIFF FOREARMS! HE FOLLOWS IT UP BY KICKING AT THE LEGS OF VIZ! VIZ DROPS DOWN TO HIS KNEES AND JOSHUA DRIVES HIS KNEE INTO VIZZY’S FACE! VIZ FALLS BACK AND JOSHUA QUICKLY JUMPS ON VIZZY! DOUBLE FOOT STOMP!
Ben Knight: JOSHUA NICHOLLS IS LOOKING AT THE TOP ROPE AND HE IS SIGNALLING FOR THE END OF THIS MATCH! HE QUICKLY CLIMBS UP THERE AND GETS SET!!! BLUE VENGEANCE! LOOK AT THE HEIGHT HE GOT ON THAT MOONSAULT!
Clark Ruggiero: BUT VIZZY MOVES!!!!
Ben Knight: JOSHUA CRASHES TO THE MAT! VIZZY ROLLS OVER TO HIS CORNER AND TAGS BOWIE BACK IN! BOWIE CLIMBS TO THE TOP ROPE AND WAITS FOR JOSHUA TO GET BACK UP! DIVING HURACANRANA! JOSHUA IS PLANTED INTO THE MAT! JAKE RUSHES INTO THE RING AND ATTEMPTS TO ATTACK BOWIE, BUT VIZZY CLIMBS BACK IN AND CUTS HIM OFF! VIZZY AND JAKE FIGHTING ONE ANOTHER NOW, WITH VIZZY GRABBING JAKE BY THE NECK AND LIFTING HIM UP OFF THE GROUND! VIZZY THROWS JAKE OVER THE TOP ROPE AND FOLLOWS HIM TO THE OUTSIDE! JAKE IS REACHING UNDER THE RING! VIZZY GOES TO KICK JAKE BUT JAKE PULLS OUT A CHAIR! VIZZY STOPS HIS MOMENTUM AND JAKE THROWS THE CHAIR! VIZZY CATCHES IT! JAKE’S EYES GO WIDE AND HE SCRAMBLES BACK IN THE RING!
Clark Ruggiero: WHILE THAT WAS GOING ON AND THE REFEREE WAS DISTRACTED, JOSHUA MANAGED TO LAND A LOW BLOW ON BOWIE! BOWIE GRAY IS HURTING BAD RIGHT NOW AND JOSHUA IS ONCE AGAIN GOING TO THE TOP ROPE! VIZZY HAS GRABBED JAKE NOW AND HE WHIPS HIM INTO THE ROPES! THE MOMENTUM FROM THAT CAUSES JOSH TO SLIP! THE AUSTRALIAN MANAGES TO CATCH HIMSELF BUT BOWIE IS BACK UP AND HE’S GRABBED JOSHUA BY THE HAIR! VIZZY CLOTHESLINE JAKE OUT OF THE RING!!!!
Ben Knight: PARALYZED!!!!! BOWIE GRAY WITH THE COVER WHILE VIZZY STANDS GUARD TO MAKE SURE JAKE DOESN’T SLIP BACK INTO THE RING!
ONNEEE!!!!
TTWWWOOOO!!!!!
TTTHHHHRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
(Ding! Ding! Ding!)
Maria Del Ray: AND HERE ARE YOU WINNERS… BOWIE GRAY AND VIZZY!!!!!
(‘Blood/Water’ by Grandson begins to play and the referee raises the hands of Bowie Gray and Vizzy.)
Ben Knight: Wow! The rivals turned partners really did that! They worked together and pulled off this win!
Clark Ruggiero: I’m impressed to say the least. The Revolution gave it all they had tonight, and there’s no doubt that in the future they’ll be competing for the EAW Unified Tag Team Championships, but Bowie’s raw talent and Vizzy’s power was too much tonight.
(Jake grabs Joshua and pulls him out of the ring, glaring at the image of Vizzy and Bowie Gray shaking hands. Whatever the two might have felt for one another prior to this was put aside for the sake of a win at Wildcard, and needless to say both men did their part to bring home the victory.)
(Commercial break for Elf makeup. Their 100 color eyeshadow palette is available at Walmart and Target for $14.88. The Jaded Wolfe Hearts may or may not own it.)
(Camera cuts back to Maria Del Rey in the center of the ring.)
Maria Del Rey: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN THE FOLLOWING MATCH IS OUR MAIN EVENT FOR THE EVENING AND IT’S SCHEDULED FOR…
Crowd: ONE FALL!!!
Maria Del Rey: INTRODUCING FIRST… FROM MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA… WEIGHING IN AT 208 POUNDS… HE IS THE SOLIDER… MMMYYYYLLLLLEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
(The lights go out as ‘Enemy Strike’ by Yuki Hayashi begins playing. Frames of Myles’ wrestling skill and domination flicker in and out on the titantron, perfectly synced with the music. The fans go crazy as the chorus of the song begins, the lights return, and all focus is now on Battleground standout, Myles. Myles is decked out in gold and black tonight, complete with matching cape and a GOLDENSKULL mask that honestly is probably too expensive for a Battleground star to own. That being said, Myles is focused and he begins marching down the ramp. Myles pauses at the end of the ramp and finally allows himself to soak in the atmosphere of the crowd and appreciate the moment. A few seconds pass and finally Myles charges towards the south corner pole of the ring. He slides underneath it and onto the same corner apron. He stands up, looks right into the camera, removes his mask, and enters the ring.)
Maria Del Rey: AND HIS OPPONENT… FROM BRAMPTON, ONTARIO… HE CLAIMS TO WEIGH IN AT 255 POUNDS… HE IS THE PAYNEKILLER… XXAAANNNNDDDDDEEEEEERRRRRRR PPPAAAAYYYYYNNNNNNEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
(‘It Follows’ by Cane Hill blasts through the PA system, but Xander Payne doesn’t walk out right away. The fans inside the building are a little confused, wondering where the former self-proclaimed ‘New Breed God’ is.)
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
(The lights inside the arena go out and a spotlight flickers on the stage! The beeping noise continues and a forklift is driven onto the stage! In the driver’s seat is Xander Payne and the cameras cut to a shot of Myles inside the ring. The young Australian looks incredible annoyed as the lights come back up. Cut back to Xander and Xander happily waves at Myles. After a moment, the Canadian gets down from the driver’s seat of the forklift and arrogantly begins to make his way to the ring.)
Clark Ruggiero: SUICIDE DIVE!!!!
(As soon as Xander had gotten close to the ring, Myles had backed up and launched himself through the ropes! Xander’s music abruptly cuts.)
Ben Knight: MYLES IS WAILING AWAY ON XANDER PAYNE! THE REFEREE IS OUT OF THE RING! HE PLEADS WITH MYLES TO GET XANDER IN THE RING, BUT MYLES PUSHES HIS BACK! MYLES GRABS XANDER, THROWS HIM INTO THE RING STEPS, AND BEGINS STOMPING AWAY ON HIM! MYLES IS POPPING OFF RIGHT NOW AND XANDER FINDS HIMSELF THROWN HEAD FIRST INTO THE BARRICADES! MYLES GRABS XANDER, BOUNCES HIS FACE OFF THE HARDEST PART OF THE RING, AND THROWS XANDER INSIDE!
Clark Ruggiero: Xander Payne is stunned and he is staggering back up to his feet as Myles slips inside the ring!
Ben Knight: Heh! Myles took one look at that forklift, had a flashback about it, and decided not to wait for the bell! He goes right for Xander and drives the former New Breed God into the corner! Myles rams his shoulder into Xander’s mighty gut several times over, grabs him by the back of the neck, and bulldogs him into the mat!
(Ding! Ding! Ding!)
Clark Ruggiero: This match is officially underway now and Myles has mounted Xander and is beating the shit out of him. He’s not holding anything back and I don’t blame him! Xander Payne assaulted him on Battleground and he deserves to pay for his sins!
Ben Knight: Xander is attempting to cover up and fend off Myles, but the Australian is too fired up right now! Myles jerks Xander up by the hair and throws him into the corner! RUNNING KNEE STRIKE!!! Xander takes that strike right in his face! Myles is following it up with his trademark strike combo! HE’S STRIKING THE CHEST OF XANDER PAYNE AND XANDER IS GASPING FOR BREATH! SPIN KICK TO THE BODY! KNEE STRIKE! MYLES GRABS XANDER BY THE ARM AND WHIPS HIM ACROSS THE RING INTO THE OPPOSITE CORNER! XANDER HITS BACK FIRST AND DROPS TO HIS KNEES AND MYLES CHARGES! KNEE STRIKE! XANDER’S NOSE IS BUSTED OPEN! IT DIDN’T TAKE LONG FOR MYLES TO DRAW FIRST BLOOD AND HE KICKS XANDER IN THE FACE! MYLES PICKS UP XANDER PAYNE, THROWS HIM TO THE CENTER OF THE RING, AND QUICKLY GOES FOR THE ARMBAR!
Clark Ruggiero: THAT WAKES UP XANDER PAYNE! HE IS ABLE TO ROLL OUT OF THE WAY AND SLIPS OUT OF THE RING!
Ben Knight: Xander is visibly shaken right now! Myles came into this match full of fire and looking to get revenge on the Voltage superstar! Xander is trying to shake off the effects of Myles’ quick start! But wait look inside the ring!
Clark Ruggiero: MYLES DOESN’T WANT TO GIVE XANDER A CHANCE TO RECOVER!
Ben Knight: TOP CON HILO!!!!
Clark Ruggiero: XANDER MOVES!!!!
Ben Knight: MYLES CRASHES AND BURNS AND THIS GIVES XANDER THE OPENING HE NEEDS!!!
Clark Ruggiero: Xander grabs Myles up by the hair and tosses him into the ring steps! Myles hits back first and is in a seated position now! Xander backs up before showing a burst of speed! CANNONBALL!!!! XANDER JUST CRUSHED MYLES AGAINST THE STEPS WITH THAT RUNNING CANNONBALL! XANDER GRABS MYLES, SLAMS HIS FACE OFF THE STEPS! SLAMS HIS FACE AGAIN OFF THE STEPS! AND NOW HE BOUNCES MYLES’ FACE OFF THE HARDEST PART OF THE RING! XANDER SLAMS HIS FIST INTO MYLES’ FACE FOR GOOD MEASURE AND THROWS HIM BACK INTO THE RING! Ben Knight: Xander slams his fist into the mat out of sheer frustration and screams at the referee that he clearly had a three count! The last thing Xander needs is to let up now. He’s finally managed to stifle all the momentum Myles had built at the very beginning of this match!
Clark Ruggiero: Xander grabs Myles up and laces him with a chop to the chest! Myles clutches his chest, and Xander backs him up against the ropes! Xander goes for another chop, and once again, it seems to do the damage that Xander intends! Myles clutches his chest and Xander hauls off and slaps the EAW upstart across the face!
Ben Knight: Xander Payne is so disrespectful, Clark. He had no reason to slap Myles across the face.
Clark Ruggiero: Well Xander does what he wants and now he’s hooked Myles’ arms in the ropes. Xander is laughing as Myles tries to free himself, and he hauls off… slapping Myles once again! Xander follows it up with a kick to the gut and then drives his knee into Myles’ face! Xander uses both of his hands to slap Myles around and finally the referee steps in and forces Xander back! Oh! Xander just shoved the referee!
Ben Knight: The referee took exception to that and he gets right in Xander’s face! This distraction is giving Myles a chance to recover and free himself! Myles finally untangles himself from the ropes and staggers over towards Xander! He rakes his hands down Xander’s back and that causes the Brampton native to slowly turn around! Myles screams obscenities at Xander and slams his knee into Xander’s gut! Myles goes on offense now and he is beating on Xander Payne! Xander is brought to his knees right there in the middle of the ring and Myles uses his excellent striking ability to place his kicks right into Xander’s face! Xander begins bleeding from the nose and Myles drives his knee into it! Xander’s nose is surely broken at this point!
Clark Ruggiero: Myles has definitely gotten his second wind and he drags Xander back up to his feet! He hits Xander with a huge right hand! He follows it up with a big European style uppercut! He throws Xander into the corner! Myles is stomping away on Xander’s midsection! Xander is forced into a sitting position! Myles backs up and charges!!!!
Ben Knight: KNEE TO THE FACE! THE BACK OF XANDER’S HEAD HITS THE TURNBUCKLE! MYLES GRABS XANDER AND PULLS HIM TO THE CENTER OF THE RING! HE BRINGS THE BIG MAN UP TO HIS FEET AND IN A IMPRESSIVE SHOW OF STRENGTH… MYLES LIFTS XANDER UP FOR THE CANADIAN RACK! XANDER MANAGES TO SLIDE OUT! XANDER BACK TO HIS FEET! MYLES TURNS AROUND! XANDER TRIES FOR A CLOTHESLINE! MYLES DUCKS! XANDER WHIRLS AROUND! CALF KICK BY MYLES! XANDER DROPS TO A KNEE! MYLES GOES FOR THE OTHER LEG! XANDER IS NOW ON BOTH KNEES! MYLES GRABS XANDER BY THE FACE AND SCREAMS AT HIM! NOW HE SLAPS XANDER! PAY BACK FROM EARLIER!
Clark Ruggiero: Xander has the nerve to look insulted that Myles would slap the shit out of him, but Myles just laughs! Myles begins kicking the living shit out of Xander Payne and there’s very little Xander can do to defend himself right now! Myles finally stops and hauls Xander back up into that Canadian Rack position! This time Xander is unable to slip away! CANADIAN RACK DDT TO THE CANADIAN!!! MYLES GOES FOR THE COVER!!!

Clark Ruggiero: MYLES CAN’T BELIEVE IT! THERE IS SHOCK WRITTEN ALL ACROSS HIS FACE! HE HAD THIS WON BUT THAT CHAMPION’S INSTINCT THAT XANDER POSSESSES ALLOWED HIM TO GET THE SHOULDER UP AT THE LAST POSSIBLE SECOND!
Ben Knight: Myles needs to shake it off and regroup! There’s no sense in dwelling on the coulda, woulda, shoulda right now! FINISH HIM OFF MYLES! DO IT FOR ALL OF BATTLEGROUND!
Clark Ruggiero: Myles slowly gets back to his feet and bends down… looking to pull Xander back up.
Ben Knight: Both men return to a vertical and Xander throws a desperate punch at Myles! Myles blocks the shot! MYLES STRIKES XANDER IN THE FACE! HE FOLLOWS IT UP WITH SPIN KICK TO XANDER’S BODY! HE STOMPS DOWN ON XANDER’S FOOT! KNEE TO THE FACE! XANDER PAYNE STUMBLES BACK! MYLES GRABS HIM! DE FACTO! DE FACTO! DE FACTO!

Clark Ruggerio: I wonder what the rest of these amazing stars have in store, I just wish we were able to see more from here, Ben…but until next time, I was Clark Ruggerio.
