(EAW intro plays.)
(A recap is shown highlighting Voltage’s events back at Pain for Pride. The recap starts with the personal match between Rex McAllister and Daryl Kinkade, which would reach a shocking conclusion as Daryl would win the match with a roll up, taunting Rex afterwards. After this ARIA would take on Dynasty’s Madison Kaline, and while ARIA managed to pick up the win, she’d have Madison shake her hand rather than go along with the stipulation, which Madison reluctantly accepted. Next would be Theron Nikolas against Showdown’s Chris Elite, in a match that Theron Nikolas would ultimately win. The recap would cut to day two, which opened with TLA versus Hikari Kanno for the Hardcore Championship. TLA would win this match, along with the title. After this Ronan Malosi would have a confrontation backstage with Eden Sinclair where he learns she is pregnant, and in his fatal four way match against #DisneyBesties, Sierra Everett would pin him for the win. The 24/7 Battle Royale would take place afterwards with Showdown’s Roberto De La Rosa picking up the victory, and following this would be the triple threat number one contendership match for the Specialists Championship, which was won by Dynasty’s Jamie Cross. Day two’s main event would see Dr. Bethany Blue take on Showdown’s Kassidy Heart for the Universal Women’s Championship, and Kassidy Heart would leave the Glass Wallz match with the victory. The recap then transitions to day three, and the Cash in the Vault ladder match would be first up. This match would be won by Sheridan Müller, one of Voltage’s two representatives in the match. Next would be the match between Yhwach O’Hara and Minerva, and Minerva would overcome the odds to defeat Yhwach in Three Stages of Voltage Hell. Finally, Barbed Wire Massacre IX would main event the show, and in the end Drake King would retain the EAW World Championship, defeating Methuselah.)
(The recap would then showcase the Draft show, where the Drafts that took place on the show would be seen. TLA, Minerva and Jamie O’Hara would return to Voltage in the first round. Dr. Bethany Blue, Rex McAllister, and Charlie Marr would return in the second. The third round would see Alex Myers, POTARA and Cameron Ella Ava make their way to Voltage, and in the fourth round Donovan Duke, Jack Ripley and Roberto De La Rosa would join the Voltage roster. The fifth and final round would see Ruler, Sierra Everett and Jamie Cross join Voltage.)
(The recap ends, and the camera fades to the Amica Mutual Arena in Providence, Rhode Island. ‘33rd Blakk Glass’ by ZilaKami & SosMula begins to play, and as the camera pans around the arena, thousands of fans are seen in attendance, cheering loudly before pyro is seen shooting out from the stage. Afterwards, the camera transitions over to the commentary table, where James Peters, Rich Russillo and Persephone are seen.)
James Peters: Ladies and gentlemen… Welcome to the FIRST Sunday night Voltage of season seventeen!
Rich Russillo: The last season was full of surprises, but this time around it looks like we’ll be going back to the Voltage we’re all used to seeing! We’re on the road to the first Bloodsport in two years, and I’m excited!
Persephone: You guys haven’t even said the best part! REXY IS BACK ON VOLTAGE :blessed:!!!!! I’m so glad he’s here, and Daryl was shipped off to some other brand too! He SHOULD be fired after what he did at Pain for Pride, but at least I don’t have to see him.
James Peters: Anyways, we have a really great show ahead of us tonight, full of some exciting matches! I’m looking forward to seeing what Voltage has in store for us this season!
Rich Russillo: Same here. Donovan Duke is taking on Jack Ripley in the main event match, but we’ll also be seeing Alex Myers take on Harper Lee, 24/7 winner Roberto De La Rosa take on an impressive newcomer from last season Bea Valentine, and Holly Arrow will face Jamie Cross, while Specialists Champion Milli Banks watches on!
Persephone: The only thing missing is a Rexy match or two… Or three. Actually, can we have a show full of only Rex matches? I think that’d be a very great addition to Voltage this season.
(Voltage fades to the stage, and ‘The Perfect Girl’ by Mareux hits. This causes a mixed, but mostly negative reaction to come from the crowd as Ruler begins walking out. He’s wearing an all black suit and holding a microphone in his hand, but he doesn’t look very calm after what happened at Pain for Pride. Instead he looks furious, and as he begins to make his way down the ramp, he’s seen trying to calm himself down, shaking his head and attempting to stop himself from letting the match bother him any longer.)
James Peters: Ruler was one of Dynasty’s representatives in the Cash in the Vault ladder match, and while he did come up short in that match, he’s now a member of the Voltage roster. Only time will tell what he’s able to accomplish in the future, but from the looks of it he hasn’t completely gotten over Pain for Pride.
Rich Russillo: I don’t think anyone can blame him. We all know Ruler is a bit… Troubled… But beyond that, the Cash in the Vault ladder match was a big opportunity for everyone involved. I’m sure everyone besides Sheridan still looks back on that match wishing things went differently from time to time.
Persephone: Well they shouldn’t have lost. If Ruler plans to waste our time just to cry about a two-week old match then he might as well walk back up the ramp. We don’t want to hear it.
(Ruler walks up the steel steps and slowly enters the ring, and once he’s inside of the ring, he just paces back and forth for a little while, as if trying to collect his thoughts. Eventually Ruler stops, before finally beginning to speak.)
Ruler: … I’m not the Cash in the Vault Briefcase holder. My own words walking into Pain for Pride proved to be nothing more than lies. I was proven wrong. Things didn’t go how they were supposed to, and I’ve been forced to leave season 16 empty handed. Now what? What were you all expecting, for me to walk out here and share my plans for the season while pretending everything is okay? Or better yet, maybe I should I be thanking Captain Charisma and Eden Sinclair for drafting me to Voltage! No… No no no, that’s not going to be happening, not right now. Not when there’s so much that needs to be addressed. This world has known who I am for a very long time now. Since 2022 I have been a member of the Elite Answers Wrestling roster and I have been wrestling for even longer, yet it seems each time I believe I’m ready to take the next step I am shut down. I excelled in the Grand Rampage and ultimately came up short. I threw everything I had at that Cash in the Vault match and I left without the briefcase, and I’m now expected to be content!? No… That’s not going to happen.
(Ruler slowly begins to walk around the ring once more. He’s taking deep breaths, trying to remain calm as he continues.)
Ruler: Season 17 is mine. I’ve already seen it. I’ve seen the top of the mountain. I know exactly what I’m looking at, I know exactly what I need to do, and I will not end this season the same way I ended the last. You see, I don’t take pride in making promises that aren’t kept. I don’t enjoy setting out to do something and having my own missions rejected. I’m here for a purpose, and that purpose is not to constantly sit back so someone else can have their time in the sun. I’m not a stepping stone, and I won’t spend another second being treated as such. This is the part where you all start to wonder what the future holds for me, right? I couldn’t win Cash in the Vault and now I wander onto Voltage seemingly lost. I’m directionless and the world wants to know what I’ll do about it, and I’m going to make this very simple for each and every one of you. I’m not going to keep waiting in line. I’m not going to keep sitting through Grand Rampages and ladder matches for the sake of reaching a destination I’ve already been prepared for. There’s a man with a target on his back, and he knows exactly who he is.
(Ruler turns to the stage.)
Ruler: Drake King, I’m coming for the EAW World Championship.
(This causes a loud reaction from the fans, who are clearly surprised to see Ruler make such a bold statement on the very first Voltage of the season. Ruler hasn’t moved from his spot though, and he’s staring directly at the stage, as if he’s expecting an answer.)
Ruler: Go ahead, Drake. Give them what they want. Answer the challenge. We both know you wouldn’t miss the first show of the season, or any opportunity to run your mouth I suppose. This is only going to end one way, so you might as well make this all easier on yourself and make the match official rather than wasting my time. I said I’d own this season, and I intend to make good on my promises. If that means I have to tear that Championship out of your hands, I won’t have a problem doing exactly that.
(Ruler waits, but it’s not Drake’s entrance music that hits. Instead, ‘Soundtrack 2 My Life’ by Kid Cudi plays, and this causes an explosion of cheers from the crowd. Despite the friendship between these two, Ruler looks both surprised and confused by Alex Myers choosing to interrupt him. Alex is holding a microphone of their own, and they begin walking down the ramp as Ruler waits, seemingly interested in what they have to say.)
James Peters: Well that’s an interesting turn of events! We know about the history between these two, and it looks like Alex may have something to say regarding Ruler’s surprising challenge to the EAW World Champion!
Rich Russillo: Have to say, I really didn’t expect that from Ruler. I have to admit though, I’m interested to see both what Alex has to say, and how Drake will respond to the challenge that’s been laid out.
Persephone: “Interested” isn’t the word I’d use, but whatever. Now we have TWO Cash in the Vault losers here!
(Alex climbs onto the apron before entering the ring, and they walk up to Ruler. Alex slowly raises their microphone, beginning to speak as Ruler watches on.)
Alex Myers: Ruler, you more than anybody should know that I understand exactly how you feel. You’re not the only Elitist to leave the Cash in the Vault ladder match empty handed, and you’re definitely not the only person looking to make sure this season doesn’t follow the same path as the last. I’ve made it my mission to grow for a very long time now, and while I’ve kept getting closer and closer to finally touching my first World Championship in EAW, it always found a way to slip through my fingers. I was competing for the Answers World Championship at the same event you competed in the Grand Rampage match. I suffered defeat exactly like you, and Pain for Pride was nothing more than another loss on both of our records. I was able to pick myself up, though. I was able to move on and keep pushing myself forward, because just like you I want more. I want to reach the next level. I want to reach the same stage that all-time greats were once able to, the same stage that current Elitists like Adam Lucas and Limmy Monaghan are reaching now. I want to be a World Champion.
(This causes the fans to cheer, and Ruler remains silent as Alex continues.)
Alex Myers: You know how far we’ve come, and I can respect that you want to reach the heights you do… But I don’t believe that this is your time. I believe that if someone is going to fight the EAW World Champion it should be me. I’ve come a long way over the past year but I know there’s more work to be done. One more opportunity, and I’ll be more than ready to do the work necessary to become World Champion-
(Ruler cuts Alex off, stepping up to them as the two are face to face.)
Ruler: What do you think you’re doing?
Alex Myers: Isn’t it obvious? You want an opportunity because you feel you’re ready despite all of the setbacks. You don’t want to be left behind by everyone else, and I don’t plan to fall behind, either. You know how hard I’ve been working, don’t you? Look back on the wars we’ve had. Look back on Cash in the Vault. Look back on our careers. You know just as well as I do that I have what it takes to elevate my career in a way I haven’t in the past. All it takes is the right moment, and clearly that wasn’t Pain for Pride. I said before that realistically anybody could win the Cash in the Vault ladder match, but I intended to be the one that did win. I intended to be the one with the greatest chances, the one that managed to perform just a bit better than everyone else. I may not have succeeded, but with failure comes opportunities to learn, and the experience I’ve gained is only going to prepare me even more. I don’t know about you Ruler but I’m ready to move on. I’m ready to do what I need to do in order to reach greater heights, even if that means going through you.
(There are loud cheers coming from the crowd, knowing the history these two have had as well as the matches they’ve had. Ruler doesn’t look as amused however, as he begins to speak.)
Ruler: Alexis… Alex… As your friend, I want you to know that you’re making a very dangerous mistake. I’m not going to be missing out on this opportunity because you feel it’s your time. If you want an EAW Championship match, you can wait until after I’ve taken that title from Drake, and we can share the ring once again with the World Championship on the line rather than the New Breed Championship. There’s a very easy choice in front of you, and if getting in my way is truly what you wish to do, you might as well let go of your dreams of becoming EAW World Champion this season.
Alex Myers: Well if this is how our next match has to be, then so be it. I plan to fight for the EAW World Championship, and for what it’s worth, I don’t mind someone that knows me better than nearly anybody else facing me on my road to the World title. It’s the perfect challenge, so go ahead. Do your worst, Ruler. If only one of us can face Drake King, then it’s going to be-
(‘I Rise’ by Cory Marks cuts Alex off, and this causes another loud reaction from the crowd as the fans begin cheering. Both Alex and Ruler turn to the stage, clearly not expecting yet another Elitist to make their presence known. Before long however, Donovan Duke would begin walking out with a microphone in his hand, and he has a grin on his face as he looks at Alex and Ruler.)
Persephone: :skip: Did we really draft everyone but the actual Cash in the Vault winner? What is this? Why are the losers all coming out?
James Peters: I honestly can’t tell if you were more or less annoying when you were pretending to enjoy the show. Anyways, Donovan is the longest reigning National Elite Champion ever, and it looks like he has some business out here with Alex and Ruler, two of his opponents back at Pain for Pride!
Rich Russillo: Alex and Ruler both want the same thing in an EAW Championship match, but before they could settle this little disagreement over who’ll get the shot, this man interrupted! Let’s see what Donovan has to say.
(Donovan begins to speak as he walks up the steel steps.)
Donovan Duke: Alex, Ruler, I don’t think I have to explain why I’m out here right now. The timing alone makes it as clear as day, I want the same thing you two do. I want the opportunity to become World Champion.
(This once again receives a positive reaction, and Donovan enters the ring before continuing to speak.)
Donovan Duke: Like it or not, all three of us lost back at Pain for Pride. We’ve all had our fair share of failure. We’ve all been forced to take a step back and rethink our gameplans heading into this season… But I don’t think I need to ask myself whether or not I’m ready to take that next step. You two know what I am capable of. I had the longest National Elite Championship reign of all time and I’m not so sure that record will be broken anytime soon, but I don’t plan to hang onto that accomplishment forever knowing that everyone around me has shown the ability to reach for more. Some of my closest friends here have become World Champions in just the past year and eventually I want to have my name put up with them. There’s only one way to do that though, and it clearly wasn’t by winning the Cash in the Vault ladder match. If I want to become World Champion I’ll need to face the Champion himself, and I can see you two have already started talking about a potential match to figure things out, so why not add my own name to the mix?
(Alex stares at Donovan before looking at Ruler, and it’s hard to tell how Ruler feels as he now has a calm look on his face. He remains silent for a bit, before finally beginning to speak.)
Ruler: I get it. You all want a shot, right? You all want the opportunity to become a World Champion?
Donovan Duke: That’s what most of us want, but what matters is who’s willing to step up to get that kind of opportunity. I respect you two for making that kind of decision this early in the season, but I wasn’t going to be left out. If you two can come out and challenge for an EAW World Championship match, why can’t I?
Ruler: Right, right… It’s unfortunate, really. All three of us did meet in the ring at Pain for Pride, but because we all faced failure there you two seem to believe that this is the kind of opportunity that should be free for anyone to take.
Alex Myers: No, that’s not what’s going on here. We all know what’s on the line, but we also know that if one of us is going to become World Champion it will be the Elitist most capable of reaching all of those heights we failed to last season. That’s me, and I don’t say this as an insult to either of you because I have all of the respect in the world for both of you. I know you both. I’ve spent so much time on the same brand as you Donovan, and Ruler you know how our history is. I just have faith in myself. Faith that I’ll be able to keep pushing forward, and keep improving in a way that surpasses what I’ve done for the past two years. If I have to go through the two of you to get that match, I’ll do what I have to do and make sure I get that opportunity.
Donovan Duke: Then I think we’re just about on the same page. Our only disagreement is on the Elitist that’ll be taking that Championship from Drake, and I doubt we’ll be agreeing on that anytime soon. We all want to be the one to end that Championship reign and start this season with gold around our waist and that’s completely fine, but I already planned to bring my very best regardless of what was ahead of me. It’s part of who I am. I bring my one hundred percent as often as I possibly can, but knowing that a World Championship match may just be in my near future, I’ll have to push it even further. That’s the kind of talent I’m in the ring with, and the talent I’ll be surrounded by for the remainder of this season. I’m glad, honestly. I’m glad that I’ll be able to spend this season surrounded by such amazing competitors, but I’ve grown a lot in my own right. I’ve come a long way since I first started, so this isn’t going to be some mistake. This is the next step.
Alex Myers: It’s a very bold statement, Donovan. Are you sure you’ll be able to live up to it?
Donovan Duke: We’ll just have to wait and see, won’t we? Whatever happens, I’ll be giving it my all. I expect the same from the two of you too, otherwise this conversation has no reason to be happening.
(A smirk appears on Alex’s face as they clearly feel similarly about the match, and Donovan looks at Ruler before continuing to speak.)
Donovan Duke: I know you wanted Drake to answer you, but it was never going to be that simple. Besides, if you really are ready to become World Champion, now you have the opportunity to prove it.
(Ruler stares directly at Donovan, and only after a little while does he begin to speak.)
Ruler: Trust me Donovan, I will be doing exactly that.
(There’s a staredown between the three Elitists, but the silence between the three is broken as ‘Footsteps of Doom’ by KOHTA YAMAMOTO hits. This causes the fans in the arena to begin cheering as their attention shifts to the stage, and all three Elitists in the ring look in the same direction. Before long, the EAW World Champion himself would begin walking out with a large grin on his face. He has his Championship on his shoulder, and he’s holding a microphone in his hand as he looks at all three Elitists in the ring.)
James Peters: Well this is what Ruler wanted from the beginning, but he’s not the only one Drake King had his eyes on from the looks of it. With Alex Myers and Donovan Duke also out here, Drake has three potential challengers to think about here!
Rich Russillo: Yeah, well he has a pretty big grin on his face despite that. We saw how his confidence somehow raised after defeating Methuselah at Pain for Pride, and of course winning that Hell in a Cell match against Ronan Malosi only a single week later.
Persephone: I’d say there’s finally someone capable of winning a match out here, but nearly being defeated by Ronan of all people is embarrassing enough.
(‘Footsteps of Doom’ fades out as Drake remains on the stage. He can’t help but laugh a bit seeing the faces on Donovan, Alex, and Ruler, and even after he stops he maintains the smirk on his face. As the music fades out and the fans begin to quiet down, Drake starts to speak.)
Drake King: It’s okay, you three can settle down now. This is what you were waiting for, right? You couldn’t settle this little issue without your Lord and Savior himself! Ruler, correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t you start all of this? You couldn’t leave the ring until GOD HIMSELF graced your presence just to entertain this idea that you need to be anywhere near a World Championship, and thanks to your impatience, two others have joined you! It’s not really a problem to me, but clearly it’s gotten to the three of you already, and I get it! You all lost your Pain for Pride matches so now you think you can use me to elevate your careers, that’s great! Do what you want! Argue over who struggled more in matches all three of you competed in! Demand an opportunity to compete for a Championship you already couldn’t win against lesser competition! Keep wasting everyone’s time! Do whatever you please, because now that I’m here, everything will turn out perfectly fine. You three can just keep fighting over who gets the right to lose to me… Or, I can just do something far less time consuming that’ll make everyone happy!
(The three Elitists inside of the ring look at each other, all seemingly just a bit curious to see what the Champion has to offer.)
Alex Myers: Might as well get on with it. What are you suggesting?
(The grin on Drake’s face widens.)
Drake King: I’LL DEFEND MY TITLE AGAINST ALL THREE OF YOU! :blessed: :blessed: :blessed:
(This causes an explosion of cheers to come from the crowd, as the fans clearly love the idea of a fatal four way for the EAW World Championship. All three Elitists in the ring look a bit surprised to hear this, mainly because they didn’t expect Drake to be the one making that suggestion.)
Ruler: You’d defend against all three of us?
Donovan Duke: In the same match?
Drake King: :mjlol2: Why wouldn’t I? I am God! I don’t need to defend against any ONE of you when I can just beat all three of you at the same time! If you want an EAW Championship match so badly all of you can have it at the same time instead of fighting to decide who gets it. Might as well just speed up the process and get this all over with since it’s all going to end the same, anyway! This Championship isn’t going anywhere, so why prolong this whole mess when I can bring you all back down to reality in one match? Like I said, it makes everyone happy. All three of you get the match you want, and I’ll be leaving that match exactly how I walked into it! Is that it, or is there anything else you’re all going to beg your Messiah for?
(There’s a brief moment of silence as Donovan, Alex and Ruler are all staring directly at Drake, telling the Champion everything he needs to know.)
Drake King: Are you sure? Alright, I guess it’s settled!
(Drake raises his Championship before continuing.)
Drake King: I’ll be seeing you all very soon.
(Drake laughs, and ‘Footsteps of Doom’ begins to play once more as he turns and begins walking to the back.)
James Peters: I really didn’t expect that! Drake King just agreed to make this a fatal four way match, and given the fact that his last title reign was full of him trying to get out of defending his title rather than setting up the matches himself, I’m not too sure what to think of this!
Rich Russillo: I know what to think. We’re about to get a fatal four way for the EAW World Championship! We all know why Drake is so confident, but in a fatal four way anything can happen! This is bound to be an amazing match, just look at who’s in the ring right now!
Persephone: Nothing special if you ask me, but whatever. Rexy really is generous. If it were up to me, nobody around here would get Championship matches but him.
James Peters: It looks like the EAW World Championship picture is set, and this is one hell of a way to kick off the first Voltage of the season! Ruler versus Alex Myers versus Donovan Duke versus Drake King, all for the EAW World Championship!
(Drake has already made his way to the back, but as the camera fades to the three Elitists in the ring, all three of them are still staring directly at the stage, clearly focused on the EAW World Championship. After some time, they turn their attention back to each other, and with one last staredown between Alex, Ruler and Donovan, Voltage fades away from ringside.)
(Commercial for Marvel’s Secret Invasion, now on Disney+.)
(The camera cuts to Bella Braxton in the ring.)
Bella Braxton: The following contest is scheduled for…
Crowd: ONE FALL!!!
(‘Aerials’ by System of a Down hits!!!!)
Bella Braxton: Introducing first from Nashville, Tennessee weighing in at 233 pounds he is “The Lord of the Ring” MR. WRESTLING XIX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Mr. Wrestling XIX makes his way to the ring directly applying wrist tape as he looks disinterested in anything going on in the arena. He is ignoring the fans completely as he enters the ring and awaits his opponent seemingly interested in nothing else but getting the match started as soon as possible.)
Rich Russillo: Well this is definitely an interesting debut here on the first episode of the new season of Voltage. Mr. Wrestling XIX is a 42 year old veteran who is just now making his way to EAW which definitely makes him stand out.
James Peters: He is here to bring back glory to the good old days of pro rasslin’. We will see if he can do that up against the likes of the modern day warriors we have here on Voltage or if his style will be unable to stand the test of time.
Persephone: I have a strong feeling this guy is going to use a lot of rest holds and I have to admit I find it very concerning.
( “Won’t Back Down”, by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers hits as the crowd erupts into cheers. There’s a far more positive reaction as Major Michael Scott Connor begins walking out, seemingly focused on the match coming up as he only pays attention to his opponent in the ring, clearly ready for the match ahead of him.)
Bella Braxton: And his opponent from London, Ohio weighing in at 210 pounds he is MAJORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR MICHAEL SCOTTTTTTTTT CONNNNNORRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!
(Major Scott Connor enters the ring, and the two Elitists stare at each other as they enter their corners.)
Rich Russillo: Major Scott Connor has said that he doesn’t believe Mr. Wrestling XIX has the facilities to outwork and outfight him. He is a Marine after all. He was built for combat.
James Peters: That is true Rich. The entire power of the United States military is flowing through his veins and there is nothing on this planet capable of standing up to that strength. But Mr. Wrestling XIX is definitely going to try.
Persephone: I am going to invite my Rexy to a 4th of July celebration this weekend. But first I need to call the police on all of the damn people in my neighborhood who keep setting off those fireworks. If I’m not allowed to have fun nobody is!
(DING! DING! DING!)
Rich Russillo: We are underway as Mr. Wrestling XIX aggressively goes after Major Scott Connor in the ring lunging for his leg. But Connor smartly moves out of the way evading the swift attack. But Wrestling goes for the lockup and this time it is Connor who lunges for the legs of Wrestling and goes to pull him off his feet- but Wrestling kicks upwards catching Connor in the jaw and sending him flying across the ring onto his own back. Connor swiftly back up as he glares down Wrestling not pleased at having been outmatched like that. They lock up in the middle of the ring. A fair lockup before Wrestling suddenly twists Connor around with a Snapmare Takedown. Wrestling has Connor down but Connor maneuvers himself around and grabs the leg of Wrestling! Ankle Lock applied! No! Wrestling throws Connor over him onto his back and escapes the hold as both men return to their feet once more.
James Peters: Both competitors back up in the ring and exchanging heated words. Mr. Wrestling shoves back Michael S. Connor and is heard yelling something at him that sounds disrespectful but I couldn’t make out what he just said. Connor doesn’t take the bait. It doesn’t look like the taunts are affecting him as he backs off into a fighting stance not going for a kill shot or anything off whatever Wrestling did to insult him. Instead we get another lockup in the middle of the ring. Connor pulls Wrestling into a Side Headlock… but Wrestling shoves him up against the ropes and whips him across with an Irish Whip! The rebound as Connor comes flying back across the ring with a Running Clothesline! Wrestling collapses down to the mat in a heap slowly falling from the impact of the Clothesline like he just ran into a brick wall. Connor runs off the ropes looking for something here-
Rich Russillo: But Mr. Wrestling XIX goes under the legs as Major Scott Connor runs across. Connor off the ropes as Wrestling catches him by the arm and takes him down with an Arm Drag. Scott back up as Wrestling catches him again this time with a big Hip Toss throwing him onto the canvas! Connor going in for the pin! No! Wrestling raises his boot and kicks Connor hard right in the head sending him flying backwards. Both men now back up as they aggressively lock up again in the ring with Wrestling shoving Connor backwards into the corner. Connor reverses it as both men roll off the ropes around the ring fighting for position. The referee trying to break things up but it seems a bit hopeless. Eventually Connor ducks between the ropes as the referee now really has no choice but to intervene.
Referee: ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! FIVE! BREAK IT UP!
James Peters: The old school Mr. Wrestling XIX now relenting, not willing to risk the disqualification here in this match. However, as soon as Major Scott Connor gets himself out of the ropes and the corner Wrestling goes in for a cheap shot! Connor tries to react in time but is too slow as the blow lands on his face rocking him backwards against the ropes. But Connor bounces off countering the next blow from Wrestling with a strike of his own! Both men staggering as Connor rushes forward with a series of hard chops to Wrestling seemingly taking control. Wrestling is thrown up against the ropes as Connor looks to Clothesline him up and over the top! But Wrestling ducks beneath falling down to his legs and crawling into the corner to escape. But Connor is staying on him! Connor grabs Wrestling by the hair and throws him across the ring. Wrestling goes flying under the bottom rope and rolls out onto the apron before eventually collapsing on the outside!
Persephone: Oh no he fell out of the ring. I guess he was eliminated and the match is over!
Rich Russillo: That’s… not even how an elimination in a battle royal would work. What are you even saying? Mr. Wrestling XIX pulls himself up on the floor as Major Scott Connor looks to take to the sky like a proud American eagle! Connor flies over the top rope to the outside! But Wrestling moves out of the way! Connor crashes and burns on the floor with that very misguided maneuver. Connor back up quickly but it looks like he might have hurt himself pretty badly in that fall. Wrestling takes advantage by driving him head first into the apron and then tossing Connor back up into the ring. Wrestling preferring to keep the action on the inside where he has mastered the arts of the squared circle. Wrestling grabs the leg of Connor… he is looking to apply an Ankle Lock! If he gets that on this thing might as well be over! He gets it! Wrestling has the Ankle Lock locked in as Connor is screaming in pain in an attempt to get to the ropes.
James Peters: Major Scott Connor screaming and thrashing but Mr. Wrestling XIX has that hold locked in tightly! Wrestling even applies the legs around the ankle of Connor to keep him trapped in the ring! But still Connor is fighting through it! He tries to flip himself over and he isn’t able to do it! Wait! He managed to do it after all! Connor flips himself over turning Wrestling with him and he is able to grab the ropes! Wrestling able to grab the ropes as the hold is forced to be broken!
Referee: ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! FIVE! BREAK IT UP!
Persephone: He didn’t break it up in time! The referee is going to disqualify him!
Rich Russillo: No it looks like Mr. Wrestling XIX broke it up after the referee’s warning after five and the referee is showing leniency and allowing the match to continue.
Persephone: I hate this place.
Rich Russillo: Mr. Wrestling XIX may have broken the hold but he is right back on the assault. He picks Major Scott Connor up and whips him across the ring. Connor comes running back right into a Double Axe Handle to the face from Wrestling! No! Connor ducks beneath! Connor runs off the ropes and comes flying back towards Wrestling and ducks a Clothesline! Connor from behind on Wrestling as he rolls him up with a German Suplex bridging into a pin! The cover!

James Peters: Kickout from Mr. Wrestling XIX! Major Scott Connor now looking to take advantage of this opportunity as both men are back up. Connor punches Wrestling back into the corner. But Wrestling bounces off the paddings and staggers back towards Connor who lifts his opponent up and flips him over head… Wrestling falls backwards to the mat with a highly elevated back body drop!! Wrestling rolls back up to his feet as Connor kicks him in the gut! Going for a Suplex here it seems!-
Rich Russillo: No! The Suplex was a fake out! Major Scott Connor rolls up Mr. Wrestling XIX with a Small Package!
Referee: ONEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!
Referee: TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
Referee: THREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-
James Peters: Kickout from Mr. Wrestling XIX! But as soon as the Small Package is broken up Major Scott Connor is back on his feet! He stomps away at wrestling on the ground keeping him grounded. Connor is beating the living hell out of Wrestling now not even allowing him to get back on up to his feet. On his own accord that is. Connor has no problem lifting Wrestling back up to his feet when his opponent is at his mercy. Connor kicks Wrestling in the gut! He hooks the arm! Another fakeout Suplex into a Small Package? No! This time there is no fake out and Connor hits a regular standard Suplex with perfect form in the ring. Good call from Connor there to switch it up and keep Wrestling guessing. He guessed wrong!
Rich Russillo: Another Suplex incoming from Major Scott Connor to Mr. Wrestling XIX! No! Wrestling falls off behind Connor instead this time having the Suplex scouted well in advance. You have to be impressed with Wrestling’s counter skills this week it seems that he learns as the match goes on and you really can’t do the same move twice on this guy because if you don’t put him away with the move the first time, he will have invented a counter to it by the time you try it a second time. It is really pretty impressive.
James Peters: Mr. Wrestling XIX from behind on Major Scott Connor with a Dragon Suplex tossing his opponent across the ring! Wrestling goes for the cover on Connor!
Referee: ONEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!
Referee: TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
Referee: THREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-
Persephone: DING! DING! DING!
Rich Russillo: No! Major Michael Scott Connor gets the shoulder up! The bell never even rang at all! Both men looked exhausted from the toll that this match had taken on them. I can’t imagine either of them have too much left in the tank at this point. It feels like the match has just begun but the intensity has been back and forth since the get go! Mr. Wrestling XIX back up to his knees but Connor is up first! Connor with a running kick to the shoulder nearly knocking Wrestling over but he is fighting through the pain! Repeated kicks to the shoulder and chest area of Wrestling who continues to take the punishment in the middle of the ring but he won’t go down and continues to rise up to his feet!
James Peters: But Major Scott Connor grabs the head of Mr. Wrestling XIX as soon as he gets back up and connects with a European Uppercut! Wrestling staggers back up against the ropes before falling back towards Connor but he’s still on his feet! Connor with a Superkick to the face as Wrestling falls backwards onto his back and he looks out cold! Connor to the cover! But Wrestling fell face first onto the mat so Connor has to waste precious time turning him over to get the cover! Will it be enough?!?!?!
Referee: ONEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!
Referee: TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
Referee: THREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-
Rich Russillo: Mr. Wrestling XIX kicks out yet again! Major Scott Connor stays right on him almost as if he expected the kickout that time. Connor helps Wrestling back up and then slams him down onto the mat hard. Connor now making his way over to the top rope and I didn’t expect to see much high flying here tonight but it looks like Connor has decided to go for it to put Wrestling away! This could pay off or it could backfire drastically! Connor up on the top rope as he measures his opponent and he takes the leap of faith!!!
James Peters: FLYING ELBOW DROP!!!—
Persephone: He misses and dislocates his elbow! The bone is popping out! That’s so cool!
Rich Russillo: He actually didn’t even jump. Major Scott Connor was about to jump but Mr. Wrestling XIX suddenly bounced back to his feet and met his opponent at the top throwing fists to prevent him from leaping. Connor nearly falls off the top rope as Wrestling continues to hammer away at him. He nearly falls off to the outside but Wrestling climbs up the ropes and hooks the arm! Possibly looking for a Superplex here! But Connor is fighting it! Repeated strikes to the gut of Wrestling! But Wrestling hangs on and makes his way up the ropes before throwing his opponent backwards… SUPERPLEX OFF THE TURNBUCKLE!!!
James Peters: Mr. Wrestling XIX gets all of it as both men are laid out in the ring! But Wrestling may have taken too much damage here to capitalize and get the cover on Major Scott Connor! It doesn’t look like he’s going to get to make the pin as boht men are just laying flat on their backs and the referee begins the ten count!
Referee: ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! FIVE! SIX! SEVEN! EIGHT! NINE! TE-
Rich Russillo: But Mr. Wrestling XIX suddenly turns himself over and flings a hand over the chest of Major Scott Connor!!!
Referee: ONEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!
Referee: TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
Referee: THREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
James Peters: But Major Scott Connor kicks out! This crowd is shook. They thought that it was over!
Persephone: See? Me and this crowd are a lot more alike than people realize.
Rich Russillo: Both men now slowly back up to their feet as Mr. Wrestling XIX falls back against the ropes. He uses the momentum to propel himself at full speed towards Major Scott Connor! But Connor stops him in his tracks and he begins lighting him up with repeated shots to the face! Connor is going all out just hammering away at Wrestling like an absolute madman! Connor punches Wrestling back up against the ropes before whipping him across the ring! No! Wrestling reverses the Irish Whip and sends Connor flying across the ring to the opposite side. Wrestling grabs the leg of Connor as he comes back looking for a takedown… but Connor flips out of it with a Back Heel Kick staggering Wrestling! Connor grabs the leg of Wrestling trying to tip him over…
James Peters: He gets him down but Mr. Wrestling XIX flips out of it and chops the leg of Major Scott Connor dropping him onto his back! Wrestling grabs the legs of Connor and twists him around! Wrestling looking to apply a Figure 4 Leglock and it could be all over here! Connor may be forced to tap! Wait! Connor manages to kick at the back of Wrestling as he is applying the Figure 4 Leglock and sends him away from his legs kicking him off!
Rich Russillo: Major Scott Connor bounces off the ropes and makes his way back towards the fallen Mr. Wrestling XIX! But Wrestling takes Connor down with a sudden Leg Sweep out of nowhere! Wrestling maneuvers himself across the back of Connor and grabs the leg! Wrestling swiftly transitions into an Ankle Lock! He has it applied! But Connor is desperately scrambling and he had it scouted making his way to the bottom rope and clutching on for dear life as Wrestling tries to yank him away from it but to no avail! The referee forces the break!
James Peters: Both men back up as Mr. Wrestling XIX is stalking Major Scott Connor. Connor back up as Wrestling grabs him and gets into position to hit a brutal Side Russian Leg Sweep! Connor planted down in the middle of the ring as Wrestling now pulls his opponent right back up for more damage. Wrestling kicks Connor in the gut before lifting him up high in the air in a Suplex position…
Rich Russillo: But Major Scott Connor is fighting it! Wrestling sets Connor back down on his feet as he begins to hammer into the gut of Connor repeatedly until his opponent stops moving! Wrestling again lifting Connor up high in the air into a Suplex position!!!
James Peters: CASH OUT!!! Mr. Wrestling XIX transitions into a Double Knee Backbreaker!!! The cover on Major Scott Connor for the win!
Referee: ONEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!
Referee: TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
Referee: THREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(DING! DING! DING!)
Bella Braxton: Here is your winner… MRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR WRESTTTTTTTTTTTTTLINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG XIXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX!!!!!!!!!!!
( ‘Aerials’ by System of a Down hits to boos from the crowd as Mr. Wrestling XIX has his arm raised in victory.)
Persephone: NO! Major Scott Connor lost! He can’t lose on 4th of July weekend! This is un-American! Grr!!!! Anyways thank God that’s over.
Rich Russillo: Well unfortunately he did but he lost to a very impressive Mr. Wrestling XIX who has come away with the win in his debut match here in EAW and on Voltage.
James Peters: Mr. Wrestling XIX definitely making an impact here on the first week of the new season and I expect even greater things in the days, weeks, and months to come!
(The camera cuts to a commercial announcing that EAW will only be allowing you to view three promos per day. After that the site will lock you out and tell you to go outside.)
( Sunday Night Voltage continues on as we head back towards the backstage area after the commercial break. We see Sofia Clarke is standing by with a microphone in her as she begins to speak. )
Sofia Clarke: Welcome everyone back to Sunday Night Voltage! Please welcome my guest at this time, Ayu Megumi!
( Ayu enters the frame, as the crowd in attendance would cheer at the sight of Ayu. She isn’t as happy or energetic, rather more serious as her eyes have a somewhat disappointing look to it. She stands there, ready to answer whatever questions Sofia has for her. )
Sofia Clarke: Now I want to ask about your most recent loss at Pain for Pride, not being able to win the 24/7 Battle Royale and what your plans are moving forward now that you are back on Voltage.
(Ayu lets out a little smirk, but not one from happy or glee but rather pity and disappointment as she begins to speak. )
Ayu Megumi: I’m quite disappointed with myself, Sofia. I feel angry at myself, different types of emotions that I can’t even begin to explain here right now. I wanted Pain for Pride to be my chance where I can finally breakthrough, where I can finally be recognized. That I could be on the same level like my Ice Aces teammate ARIA, win that 24/7 Battle Royal and hold that contract of a title match of my choosing. If I had just won this match, everything that has happened to me at this point would have been worth it but sadly that’s not the case. I was eliminated from the match, and that chance to have that breakout moment shattered into a million pieces. Roberto De La Rosa holds that prestigious honor whilst here I am with practically nothing.
( Ayu would take a moment to catch her breath before continuing on. )
Ayu Megumi: It doesn’t help that this season I’m all alone. The draft separated me from both ARIA and Usagi whilst they’re on Showdown, I find myself back here on Voltage with no friends by my side, no more Ice Aces to hold me together, It definitely sucks. I’ll miss both of them very much Ice Aces forever and forever alive! These last few weeks haven’t really been kind to me. It’s all very disheartening… but that’s not going to stop me from quitting.
( Ayu’s sorrow quickly turns into drive and determination as she continues to speak. )
Ayu Megumi: I’ve never been the type to just stop trying, give up while I have the chance. I’ve never been the type to just stop pushing myself past my own limitations, that’s not who I am no matter what kind of curveball gets thrown my way. I understand despite no longer being around my friends in both ARIA and Usagi, it opens up a whole new door for me. I have a good chance to shine on my own here on Voltage, breakout as a singles competitor. I promise to everyone that supports me, that gives me their cheers when I walk out that this will be my best season yet. I promise to make season 17 my season, I’ll get there. I promise you all that!
( Before Ayu could say anything else, she would be interrupted by Valerie Hellstorm who enters into the frame. She would get boos from the live crowd as Valerie begins talking to Ayu. )
Valerie Hellstorm: Sorry to cut you off Ayu but I can’t but overhear what you were just saying. You were going to make this season, your season Ayu? Yeah right. I’m not really impressed by you Ayu, I’m really not. You say all these things, you promise to those idiots in the stands that you’ll make this season your best? I wouldn’t be going around making promises like that Ayu. There’s a very good chance… actually scratch that… you have a very BIG chance that this season won’t be any better for you then it was last season. You wouldn’t have the chance to succeed because you’re surrounded by people on this roster that want it more than you, that are actually more talented than you! If you’re looking for a prime example you’re standing right in front of one. I’m THAT bitch if you couldn’t already tell.
( Ayu would respond back to Valerie, as she looks to get quite annoyed at what Valerie had to say about her. )
Ayu Megumi: You really do have some nerves coming up to me and saying I don’t impress you. Sure Valerie, think whatever you want to think… I don’t care. Your words are exactly that, it’s all just talk with no fire behind it. Don’t tell me what I can and can not do, I’ll make whatever promise I like. You’re just some self-centered, egotistical newbie who think she knows how things work around here. If I promise my fans, I Intend to keep that promise no matter what. I will make this season my best, my best one here in EAW. So you can call yourself THAT bitch all you like, make a couple of t-shirts out of it and I’ll just keep continuing to work my ass off until I’m back once again competing for titles, competing for opportunities that you would want to have.
( Valerie looks to be annoyed at those comments from Ayu as she fires back. )
Valerie Hellstorm: That’s just plain wrong, there’s no one I can think of that’s faster than you, smarter than you, stronger than you, and most importantly better than you than Valerie Hellstorm. I’m the inevitable future, while you will just continue to crawl and crawl for chances that everyone knows you’ll just lose anyways, I’ll win those chances that you desperately want and when that happens I’m going to laugh directly in your face. I might still be relatively new in your eyes, but I very much have all the potential you can dream of. My suggestion that you should take, and seriously you should take this, is stay out of my way if you want a good shot at succeeding here on Voltage. Otherwise, I’ll upstage you just like those two idiots in ARIA and Usagi used to do back when you guys were a trio. I’m sure you wouldn’t want that to happen Ayu, right?
( Ayu listens to what Valerie had to say as she responds right back to Valerie. )
Ayu Megumi: I actually have a better idea, let’s have a match here on Voltage next week just between the two of us. Since you clearly think you’re better than me in every aspect imaginable, let’s test that out to see if that’s actually true. Let’s see if you actually want this more than me, or that you’re more “talented” than me. Let’s see if there’s some truth to that or if it was just talk from the “inevitable future”.
( Valerie Hellstorm looks up and down at Ayu before she bursts out a laugh at Ayu. )
Valerie Hellstorm: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
( Ayu Megumi’s facial expression stays the same despite the laughing from Valerie. Valerie soon realizes that Ayu was being serious about a match for next week. Valerie would respond back to that challenge. )
Valerie Hellstorm: Alright sure, I accept your challenge Ayu. I warned you to stay out of my way but that heroic voice told you to fight me in a one on one competition. I honestly can’t wait, because you’ll soon realize everything I said was right. Just make sure you watch my match against Korey Gaines later tonight, that will give you a perfect understanding of what’s to come for our match next week.
( Valerie was about to leave but Ayu would say something before she left the scene. )
Ayu Megumi: Good, I’ll make sure to watch your little match with Korey. Just know I don’t care for your warning, that doesn’t intimidate me whatsoever. Your future isn’t going to look inevitable after our match is over with.
( Valerie hears this, as she then walks out of the frame. Ayu Megumi looks back at Sofia Clarke as she tells her… )
Ayu Megumi: Thanks for the chat Sofia, sorry about the interruption.
Sofia Clarke: It’s okay Ayu, thank you for your time regardless. I wish you the best of luck this season!
Ayu Megumi: Thanks Sofia.
( Ayu would soon leave the frame as well as the camera pointed towards Sofia who brings out a nice smile. The segment would fade out shortly after. )
(The camera fades to Bella Braxton in the ring smiling and holding a microphone.)
Bella Braxton: Ladies and gentlemen please welcome the NEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW EAW Hardcore Champion T!!!!!!!!!!!!! L!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(“Ambitionz az a Ridah” by Tupac hits as the crowd explodes into cheers. TLA eventually walks out onto stage dressed in a red, white, and green bomber jacket and holding up the EAW Hardcore Championship proudly into the air before making his way to ringside. TLA considers entering the ring and takes a microphone before instead he jumps out into the EAW crowd and continues to celebrate out there with the fans.)
Rich Russillo: As we all saw on the Draft Show, TLA has returned to Voltage for the second year in a row. He definitely seems to be in a good mood about it and I definitely can’t blame him after the weekend he had at Pain for Pride.
James Peters: That is true Rich. At Pain for Pride, TLA managed to capture the EAW Hardcore Championship and with the draft he has kept the title here in its home on Voltage. TLA is not booked this week but there was no way he was going to miss the first Voltage of the season.
Persephone: I honestly don’t think I would be willing to continue doing this job if the Hardcore Title wasn’t on Voltage. At least there is one title that guarantees we will get some fun things like blood and gore instead of the usual boring matches I have to struggle to stay awake during.
James Peters: :francis:
(TLA is shown standing in the crowd with the fans continuing to celebrate before eventually making his way to the top of the arena stairs with the mic to speak.)
TLA: Orale mi gente! Que honda Providence!!!!!
Crowd: :blessed: :blessed: :blessed: !!!
TLA: Yoyoyo it’s yo boi TLA comin’ at you live with all that intensity and all that electricity STRAIGHT OUTTA RHODE ISLAND!!! You know that a vato up in here and we doin’ them big vato thangs erry day. You know after what happened at Pain for Pride I just had no choice whatsoever but to come out here and throw up that gracias to the EAW fans. Y’all been down since day one and we done got that W in and y’all know I couldn’t have done that shit without all y’all. We rollin’ together. We ridin’ together. Pero y’all already know what it is. The big ass news story. That bitchin’ news story that errybody be talking about. Done got that job done in that lucha up against Hikari Kanno. Now a vato be standing before all y’all as that NEWWWWWWWWWWWW EAW Hardcore Champion!
(TLA throws up the EAW Hardcore Championship before swinging it around wildly, nearly hitting several fans as they continue to cheer in celebration. TLA allows a kid nearby to hold the championship as he continues to talk to the fans.)
TLA: You know I gotta show all y’all some luv. Thank you for yo support at Pain for Pride and through all these years. A championship victory at Pain for Pride is a real big deal. Don’t let nobody tell you otherwise. I ain’t let nobody tell me otherwise. Especially after everything that I have gone through both physically and mentally in the past few weeks. It is almost relieving to be out here holding up this Hardcore Championship. Many of y’all know the story by now. How I was blindsided with some familia that I ain’t even knew about. What was even worse was that Hikari Kanno decided to use that against me as well as anything else she could find from my past. She be out here tryna destroy me. Tryna cancel a real one. But we done proved that if you realer than real there ain’t nobody who can stop you from gettin’ yo shine on on that grandest stage.
(TLA rubs his jacket on the Hardcore Championship the fan was holding polishing it up so the lights are shining off it real brightly.)
TLA: I don’t know Lola and Feliciano even if we are blood. Even if we are sangre I ain’t know them. Maybe I knew Lola once a long ass time ago but that was a long ass time ago. These people are strangers to me now. That sangre important and I understand that. Pero that ain’t my call to make. Feliciano don’t seem to like me very much. Don’t seem to be all that interested in getting to know me. It is what it is. The lil homie got his own life and he ain’t need me getting involved if he ain’t want me around. The door always open if he ever changes he mind. Cuz yo look around y’all. I ain’t hard to find!
(TLA gestures to the massive arena packed with fans who are wildin’.)
TLA: We on every screen in the country right now. Got them fans straight up glued to they devices n shit. They watchin’ TLA and they watchin’ Voltage looking to see how we going to start things off and you know that imma start things off right. Cuz Hikari tried every damn thing in that libro and she ain’t managed to get under my skin no matter how hard she try. New champion. New season. Same vato. In the end, you know it was La Pantera Sexual who ended up with both the last laugh and the Hardcore Championship. Now I got the power to start shit off right. Y’all may have noticed from some of them palabras that I been droppin’ that this a whole new Disney. A whole new world. A whole new set of rules. You see back when I done dropped that Disney Funhouse I started getting them vibes that Disney was interested in branching out of they safe zone. Then I hear they experimenting with darker content on they platform like Deadpool and Daredevil. You know it all came to a head as they be announcing they lifting them restrictions finally at long last realizing that EAW ain’t no different. EAW got that history in that lucha game. And y’all know it can get real bloody. So what y’all say? You wanna see some blood?
Crowd: OAISPFJSA_)UJA_OPFJPSAJKRKSJA_$A)U)_$AJSPOFASJFPSAFAS
TLA: That’s what I thought. Y’all done came to the right place. You looking at the Hardcore Champion. You looking at that OG straight out the barrio lookin’ to get he ultraviolence on with the quickness. I done went to prove it at Pain for Pride and despite all the shit we gotta pile on Hikari for actin’ an opp we can’t take away the fight that chica done brought. She put up a good lucha and she did her best most definitely to show yo boi just why she was the champion for so long. Pero now… soy el campeón! Hikari couldn’t do shit to stop me from taking her down and taking that title from her. You know I be collecting these motherfuckers. Just straight up grabbing them all until there ain’t none left. You know at this point I have held most of the titles in EAW at one time or another and it was only a matter of time until the Hardcore Championship came around to yo boi. Cuz you know that Hardcore style been part of my life since day one. This title was the Pure Championship for the longest and yo maybe I ain’t so much down with that necessarily but when the Hardcore Championship came back around like a boomerang you know that I done took notice. I knew that one day or another I was going to be going after that championship. Imma busy hombre tho things kept getting in the way and I had other beefs and other obligations to attend to first.
(TLA takes the championship back from the fan and puts it over his shoulder.)
TLA: But that was just the beginning. Pain for Pride was just the beginning. La victoria fue el principio. Ahora es el momento de que comience la gran lucha! Now that El Campeón en la casa you know that big things be poppin’. It is time to take this championship. Time to embrace the new lack of restrictions that Disney has blessed us with. It’s time to take this championship and elevate it to a new level. We going to make it bigger and better than ever. We going to make the Hardcore championship scene the most must watch matches in all of EAW! You ain’t going to even recognize just what this sport and this style of wrestling is capable of until you see what we about to do. You thought that it was great under Hikari Kanno… just wait to see what it’s going to be like under TLA! Ain’t none of y’all gonna give a damn what the other champions are doing. Gonna be all eyez on me for real for real. Now lemme get into the details of this mierda… The Hardco-
(Suddenly TLA’s voice is interrupted as the Titantron lights up in the arena.)
James Peters: What’s this?
Rich Russillo: Judging by the look on TLA’s face, this clearly isn’t his idea!
Persephone: Yeah, obviously. Whatever it is, it thankfully interrupted his drawn out speech.
(Suddenly, the titantron begins to play a highlight video, showing the many Elitists on the Voltage roster, both past and present. Some of the biggest Voltage moments in the past few years are shown. Championship wins, memorable moments within matches, and more, and during all of this a narrator begins to speak.)
Narrator: Throughout history, many Elitists have made a name for themselves on the Voltage brand. Some have taken their careers to new heights, while others have added to their already established legacy. However… There’s only one Elitist who can say they’ve changed this brand as a whole.
(Suddenly, the highlights transition to clips showing only one specific man, that being Charlie Marr. Moments of his matches over the years are shown, as the narrator continues to speak.)
Narrator: That Elitist is Charlie Marr, the greatest of all time. Charlie has done everything for this company, and his presence has constantly elevated the Voltage brand, just like it has elevated the entirety of Elite Answers Wrestling. Charlie has had a career that no one could ever even dream of having, because even in those dreams they’d fail to match the greatness that’s in front of them. Charlie Marr has done it all, and no matter where he goes, he proves that he belongs at the very top of this business.
(The clips begin to show moments where Charlie Marr had picked up victories, constantly having his hand raised as he stands over opponent after opponent.)
Narrator: Charlie Marr is the greatest National Elite Champion of all time.
(The highlight videos shows the events of Crossfire 2018, where Charlie Marr and Daryl Kinkade would become Co-National Elite Champion after Charlie managed to get his arm over POP. The video would specifically focus on Charlie however, almost entirely cutting Daryl Kinkade out of the frame.)
Narrator: Charlie Marr is the greatest Unified Tag Team Champion of all time.
(A recap is shown of MarrKade’s Unified Tag Team Championship victory over Drillmatic, before also highlighting moments throughout the Championship reign, such as their title defenses and major matches they’ve competed in while Champion such as the Extreme Elimination Chamber. Just like before however, the clips only focus on Charlie Marr, completely ignoring Daryl Kinkade as he is never shown in the video.)
Narrator: Charlie Marr is the greatest World Champion of all time.
(The recap now switches to Bloodsport 2019, where Charlie would dethrone Malcolm Jones to win the EAW World Championship. More moments throughout the reign would play, such as his match against Rex McAllister at Territorial Invasion, where he’d stand tall and retain his EAW World Championship following a low blow. There’d also be his successful EAW World Championship defense against Ms. Extreme at Wicked Games, allowing Charlie to create one of the best Barbed Wire Massacre records ever. Road to Redemption 2019 would be shown afterwards, where despite his loss, Charlie would have one of the greatest Extreme Elimination Chamber performances of all time.)
Narrator: Charlie Marr… Is the greatest Hardcore Champion of all time.
(Dia Del Diablo 2022 is shown, and Charlie Marr is seen defeating Limmy Monaghan for the Hardcre Championship. Charlie would hold the title for the remainder of the year, successfully defending it against Ronan Malosi, Daryl Kinkade, ARIA, Roberto De La Rosa, and Lexi, all while competing in high stakes matches such as Brand Warfare and EAW World Championship matches against Minerva and in the Elimination Chamber.)
Narrator: Hikari Kanno could not compete with Charlie’s incredible reign…
(Hikari Kanno is seen winning the Hardcore Championship at A Hawaiian Christmas Show Spectacle before the video quickly cuts to her Championship loss at Pain for Pride.)
Narrator: And even on his best day, TLA could never compare to Champagne Charlie, the greatest Elitist in Voltage history.
(Clips are shown, only these clips have not been seen before. Instead they’re clips of Charlie training and preparing himself for an in-ring return. He was injured back at A Hawaiian Christmas Show Spectacle, but since then he’s clearly been working to return to EAW so he can go back to doing what he does best. As the clips of Charlie training continue, the narrator once again begins to speak.)
Narrator: Very soon, Charlie will be back in the ring. For seven months the EAW roster has missed his presence, but soon enough, he will be back to reclaim his spot at the top of this company, and once again Voltage will belong to him.
(A few more clips are shown, such as Charlie Marr’s induction into the 2022 Hall of Fame. After this, the recap once again showcases him holding Championship after Championship, recapping his success in EAW.)
Narrator: Very soon, the greatest of all time will be back.
(The video fades out, and the fans are confused about what they just saw. They don’t know what to think after the video, especially knowing that it interrupted such a great moment for TLA. Before long, the fans actually begin booing.)
James Peters: That was… Weird. It looks like Charlie Marr will be returning soon, but what was all that about? Why did they interrupt TLA’s speech for that video?
Rich Russillo: I’m not sure. TLA definitely didn’t deserve to have his moment ruined like that, it wasn’t fair at all.
Persephone: Well that turned out to be a complete waste of time. That’s annoying.
(The camera fades back to TLA standing in the crowd as the video ends. TLA is not looking happy with what happened and is visibly annoyed by the interruption. TLA holds up a hand towards the screen as if to say WTF. TLA shakes his head before the camera fades to black.)
(A commercial airs for the 4th of July celebrations featuring Major Michael Scott Connor.)
( Sunday Night Voltage returns from a commercial break, showing Bella Braxton standing in the middle of the ring with a microphone in her hand, preparing herself to announce the following contest. )
Bella Braxton: THE FOLLOWING CONTEST IS SCHEDULED FOR ONE FALL!
Crowd: ONE FALL!
( ‘good 4 u’ by Olivia Rodrigo starts playing throughout the arena as Valerie Hellstorm walks out, greeted by a chorus of boos from the crowd. A big smile appears on her face as she does a little clap with her hands and points at the camera, saying, “Respect Me!” She then shifts her attention to the ring, making her way towards it. )
Bella Braxton: INTRODUCING FIRST!… FROM HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA!… WEIGHING IN AT 135 POUNDS!… ‘THE INEVITABLE FUTURE’ !!!!… VALERIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!… HELLSTORMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!
James Peters: Valerie Hellstorm, our newest addition to Voltage, has been shining since her debut here in EAW on Dynasty! She has made it clear that she demands respect from everybody right at the beginning of this season, and no matter who they are, she will make sure they all acknowledge her!
Persephone: Wait who? Her? Who even is she? Sorry, it’s not that I don’t watch Dynasty, but I simply don’t watch Fight Grid or any other platform where a bunch of run-of-the-mill talents like to reside.
Rich Russillo: It’s Valerie Hellstorm.
Persephone: That does not answer any of my questions. Yeah, whatever, Willy PleaseGoDieOnAnyHillYouLike is here. I hope she can do something productive here.
Rich Russillo: :skip:
( Valerie steps into the ring and winks at the camera before turning back towards the stage. As ‘The World Is Mine’ by Mikey Rykus starts playing, Korey Gaines makes his entrance, receiving a mixed reaction from the crowd. He looks fresh as he throws his arms out to both sides, embracing the atmosphere of tonight’s show, and then proceeds to make his way toward the ring. )
Bella Braxton: AND HER OPPONENT!… FROM OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA!…. WEIGHING IN AT 170 POUNDS!… ‘THE EXTREME’ !!!!!!!!…. KOREYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY……. GAINESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!
Persephone: I thought he got fired.
Rich Russillo: :whoa: He’s still employed!
Persephone: Sadly.
James Peters: Korey Gaines has been here for quite a while, making his return last time, and now he’s staying here for the second run of his career since his departure from this company a long time ago. Korey, once again, is here on Voltage, and tonight, he looks to put down his opponent like Valerie Hellstorm. Will this victory fall into Korey’s hands or Valerie’s shadow? We are about to see it right now!
Persephone: sigh.
( DING DING DING! )
James Peters: Valerie Hellstorm taking on Korey Gaines as this match is finally underway, and the crowd couldn’t wait any longer to see how this match will unfold between these two! Valerie already has her game plan against Korey locked inside her head, while Korey also appears to know what Valerie could possibly bring to the match. Coming with focused eyes, Korey seems fully prepared. He has been in the game for quite a long time, while Valerie is still a newcomer, but she has already displayed immense potential in EAW ever since she was a part of Dynasty. Valerie and Korey finally clash in the middle of the ring, and they immediately lock up in a collar and elbow tie-up!
Rich Russillo: Korey intends to be stronger and more powerful heading into this match, then begins pushing Valerie, backing her towards the ropes. Valerie quickly switches up and has Korey pinned against the ropes. Valerie applies a standard armlock, with Korey’s back against the ropes. After a moment, Valerie releases Korey and swiftly transitions into a headlock, driving him towards the ropes and sending him flying to the opposite side of the ring. Korey rebounds off the ropes just as Valerie rushes towards him. Valerie goes for a discus clothesline but Korey ducks under her and slides between her legs, returning to his feet and seizing her from behind… DROPKICK TO THE BACK OF HER HEAD, DOWN GOES VALERIE!
Persephone: Man, I do not need to watch this dude doing flippy floppy boring crap at all. This is why we need some real wrestling like what Rex could do.
James Peters: Valerie rolls over to the corner, holding the back of her head, while Korey scrambles back to his feet and crawls down to where Valerie is. Korey picks her up and puts her against the corner… a hard chop that could be heard throughout the arena lands right across her chest! That’s a sharp one right there!
Rich Russillo: Oh, wait a second! Valerie doesn’t give up right there, quickly switching positions with Korey and now raining down her own chops like a machine gun! Chop after chop after chop! Korey pays the price for those chops from Valerie! Valerie… WITH ONE LAST CHOP, LEAVING KOREY DROPS TO HIS KNEES! WOW!
James Peters: Valerie pulls Korey out with his back turned against her, lifting him off the ground and sending Korey up to the top corner. Valerie hits another chop to his spine and now, using both arms hooks Korey and drags him down from the top in a gory lift position!… INTO A FLATLINER! GORY FLATLINER PLANTS GAINES! VALERIE HOOKS THE LEG FOR A QUICK COVER!
ONEEEE!
TWOOOOOOOOOOO!
Persephone: Kick out, yay. He kicks out. Christ… Can we just wrap this up? I’m going to order something off Grubhub while waiting for this to finish.
Rich Russillo: I could do that for yo-
Persephone: Shut up.
Rich Russillo: Oh. :mjcry:
James Peters: Valerie now taunts and plays down the crowd’s feelings, not showing even a bit of respect for anybody while Korey is down on the ground.
Valerie Hellstorm: (Off-Mic) Voltage is my brand and you ALL will bow down to the REAL queen like me! This is the season of Valerie Hellstorm and you… will put some RESPECT on my name!
Crowd: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Persephone: Who the hell does she think she is?
James Peters: Well, I think what she said explains it. Valerie cares nothing more than people paying her with some respect and viewing her as the true future of this division. That has always been the main goal of Valerie since she’s a part of the Dynasty Brand. Now that she’s in Voltage, it’s nothing changed for Valerie, and she will keep on going with making people acknowledge her greatness in EAW. Valerie grabs Korey by his head and now starts raining down knees to every side of his head, getting as much damage as she could possibly get right there.
Rich Russillo: Valerie got Korey in the right spot and proceeds to hurt Korey, playing down his strategy and not allowing him to have any upper hand against her anytime soon, ensuring that Korey will give her a lot of advantage in this match. Valerie now stops using her knee and picks up Korey, sending him running into the corner as she follows closely behind. However, Korey lifts up his right leg, causing Valerie to meet her end in the tunnel and leaving her stumbling back down to the middle of the ring…. KOREY STEPS OUT AND GOES FOR A SUPERKICK ACROSS HER JAW! HE HITS IT! VALERIE FAINTS ON BOTH KNEES… SPIN KICK IN PROCESS!
James Peters: No, Valerie ducks underneath the kick and manages to avoid it! Valerie hooks Korey from behind, looking to put him down with a Sleeper Hold earlier, but Korey quickly sends her rolling up to the front. Valerie rolls up to her feet, looks back at Korey, and runs back at him….. DISCUS CLOTHESLINE TURNS KOREY INSIDE OUT!
Rich Russillo: NO, HE FLIPS UNDER THE ARM AND LANDS BOTH FEET ON THE GROUND! WHAT THE HELL IS THAT, AND HOW? Korey spins back around to Valerie, who is left in a state of utter disbelief as she eats humble pie and finds herself between a rock and a hard place! Korey takes advantage of the situation and delivers a hard blow, sending Valerie to cloud nine with a Discus Elbow Smash! Valerie drops to both knees… A STEP-UP KNEE STRIKE TAKES HER DOWN COMPLETELY! KOREY DROPS INTO A COVER!
Persephone: YES! ONE TWO THREE! DING DING DING! HERE IS YOUR WINNER BUT ALSO A TOTAL LOSER, KOREY GAINES!
ONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
James Peters: VALERIE WITH HER SHOULDER OFF THE GROUND!
Persephone: I want to kill myself.
Rich Russillo: Please don’t!
Persephone: LEAVE ME ALONE!
James Peters: How about the two of you stop sharing weird sense with each other and appreciate these two for trying to put on a good match? Valerie isn’t done yet, and that kickout gives Korey a sign that she still has a lot more to accomplish in this match. Korey’s face shows the realization that he needs to put in more effort to win against Korey Gaines. Korey then grabs Valerie by her hair and drags her down to the corner, attempting a dirty move…. SENDS VALERIE FACE-FIRST INTO THE CORNER, PLANTING HER HARD AND LEAVING HER IN A VULNERABLE STATE. A STRONG TACTIC, YET DIRTY, BY KOREY THERE!
Rich Russillo: Korey appears to have grown tired of Valerie and the continuous trash talk she has been directing at him throughout the entire week, and now, his actions speak volumes about what Valerie is about to learn heading into this match. Korey once again grabs Valerie and forcefully drives her face into the corner!
Persephone: Can this bum start doing something interesting instead of trying to make us bored? It’s 2023, not 2020. Please bring about some change and improvement. Now, he drives her into the corner again. Yeah, the only move he has heading into this match, such a good wrestler. I want to die watching this horrific goblin wrestle.
James Peters: I think it’s going to change right here, with Korey picking Valerie up to her feet again, sending her flying into the opposite corner and now taking her down, following her movement… looking to crash her down there, but Valerie steps out and rocks her jaw real hard with a sick Superkick! Korey falls back to the ropes and automatically rebounds back to Valerie, meeting her at the center of the ring!…. HOISTS KOREY UP FOR A VERTEBREAKER! IT PLANTS! VERTEBREAKER JUST DESTROYS KOREY GAINES! VALERIE HOOKS THE LEG FOR A COVER!
ONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Rich Russillo: KOREY GAINES MANAGES TO KICK OUT AGAIN! It is not the time to waste. Every opportunity must be seized, and every single second is important to these two in the ring. Valerie quickly hooks Korey’s arms, and jumps over him… AND IMMEDIATELY APPLIES THE CATTLE MUTILATION! THE CATTLE MUTILATION IS SINKING IN, CAUSING KOREY TO CRY OUT LOUDLY FOR HELP! KOREY IS IN SERIOUS TROUBLE, AND HE MIGHT BE ON THE VERGE OF LOSING VERY SOON!
Persephone: OH MY GOD, YES! THE MATCH IS OVER!
James Peters: Not too soon or sooner, Korey is still struggling, determined not to embarrass himself by tapping out. He isn’t ready to give up just yet and continues fighting under immense pressure. Korey is having a hard time dealing with the pain from the submission move, while Valerie fights hard, looked to break Korey apart right there!
Persephone: Nevermind.
James Peters: Valerie seems to change her tactic there, jumping back to the beginning, starting everything again. Valerie doesn’t reset the Cattle Mutilation it seems and now, hooks and drags Korey to his feet, throwing him over and attempting the ‘Window’s Peak’ Gory Neckbreaker this time! She might have it if Korey doesn’t counter and find a chance to escape!
Rich Russillo: ….YES! Korey successfully escapes from the hold! He shakes himself free, leaving Valerie struggling to complete the move. Valerie ends up releasing him, and Korey safely lands both feet on the ground. Valerie steps back, turning around and attempting a right hand at him!… KOREY SIDESTEPS AND QUICKLY DROPS HER TO BOTH KNEES WITH A SUPERKICK TO THE BACK OF HER HEAD! He rolls backward, gets back up to his feet, and approaches Valerie from the front…. CONNECTS WITH A SPIN KICK, KNOCKING HER TEETH OUT! VALERIE DROPS ONCE AGAIN, AND KOREY HOOKS HER LEG, LOOKING TO PUT HER DOWN FOR GOOD!
ONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
James Peters: VALERIE KICKS OUT AGAIN!
Persephone: If Rex were sitting right next to me right now, I think this match would have been thousands of times better than whatever YAWN I’m watching at the moment. Valerie kicks out again, and Korey, still not bringing much excitement to this match. Oh brother, what is he going to do now? Please don’t tell me he’s attempting to finally be interesting by doing some pointless acrobatics or flashy moves around here?
Rich Russillo: I think that’s what he’s planning! Korey seems ready to take flight here, with Valerie still down on the mat. He might deliver a great deal of impact on her and gain an advantage in this match! Valerie is not moving and now Korey…. ‘OKLAHOMA SHOOTING STAR’ ON VALERIE! DIVING SHOOTING STAR DOUBLE KNEE-
James Peters: HE MISSES THE MARK! HE FAILS TO LAND RIGHT ON THE TARGET! Korey ends up driving his knees into the ground, and now he’s struggling to get back up. Valerie, who rolled out of his way, is now watching Korey from a close distance. Korey leans against the ropes, and Valerie charges at him!… ‘V-TRIGGER’ !!!!!!! BICYCLE KNEE STRIKE RIGHT ON THE TARGET! VALERIE ISN’T DONE THERE AND NOW…. ‘BLOODY SUNDAY’ DRIVES KOREY TO THE GROUND! LIFTING SINGLE UNDERHOOK DDT JUST SENT THE BACK OF HIS NECK LANDING FIRST ONTO THE CANVAS! TWO SIGNATURES IN A ROW WITH VALERIE HOOKS THE LEG FOR A COVER!
ONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
THRE-
Persephone: YES! THREE! DING DING DING! BELL RINGS! GO HOME! THE SHOW IS OVER! BYE!
Rich Russillo: NOPE! KOREY KICKS OUT AT THE LAST SECOND!
James Peters: It’s been a lot of back and forth in this match so far, and I can’t disagree that these two are surprisingly creating a good fight. Valerie keeps trying to find a safe spot to strike Korey, while Korey does his best to catch her off guard time and time again. However, we are yet to declare the true winner of this match.
James Peters: Valerie now scurries back to her feet, this time picking Korey up and holding down his wrist while standing right behind him. Valerie has got Korey where she wanted him to be and sends him spinning back around…RIPCORD KNEE- NO WAIT!
Rich Russillo: KOREY CATCHES THE KNEE! HE SENDS HER LEGS HANGING FROM THE MIDDLE ROPE… ROPE HUNG BACKSTABBER RIGHT ON THE MARK! Valerie’s back is being cracked by Korey’s knees, and she’s now reaching for both of her knees while still holding onto her back! Korey rolls back and wastes no time charging into the corner, hopping up to the top corner…. ‘OKIE CUTTER’ SPRINGBOARD CUTTER!
( https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1bcFmiUcP4E/XkrC0TbBlLI/AAAAAAAAhQM/mtPFBdzxmwIpVepO8ryll9YFDzjYSOP5gCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/Reverses%2Ba%2BOsCutter%2Bwith%2Ba%2BCrossface%2BChickenwing%2Bwith%2BBodyscissors.gif )
James Peters: NO SHE CATCHES HIM INTO A BODYSCISSORS POSITION! WAIT!… SHE RELEASES HIM… A SLEEPER HOLD LOCKS IN! KOREY IS IN A BAD PREDICAMENT! HE MIGHT BE PASSING OUT SOON! VALERIE JUST CAUGHT KOREY AND NOW FORCEFULLY TRYING TO PUT HIM TO SLEEP!
Persephone: :notbad: I don’t think this is going to last much longer. Now Korey jumps over and quickly goes for a roll-up! Finally, the end of this match, so I can finally stop watching this mediocre product and move on to better things! WOO!
ONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
THREE-
James Peters: KICK OUT BY KOREY GAINES! CLOSE ONE FOR VALERIE!
Persephone: OH COME ON! :snoop:
Rich Russillo: Korey Gaines escapes once again. This man must have been playing the escape game several times to figure out how to counter most of the moves Valerie has been using to bring him down today. Korey steps back, CHARGING AT HER, AND TRIES TO SHUT HER DOWN WITH A ROUNDHOUSE KICK!. Valerie ducks underneath, sending Korey running towards the ropes by pushing him! Korey runs off and rebounds back at her…. VALERIE JUMPS IN AND HITS HIM HARD WITH ANOTHER BICYCLE KNEE STRIKE! THE V-TRIGGER DROPS KOREY GAINES ONCE AGAIN!
James Peters: Korey falls right into her lap, but there’s no time for resting for Korey Gaines at all. She picks him right back up from behind, SENDING HIM SPINNING FORWARD AND LOOKING FOR A RIPCORD KNEE STRIKE!
Rich Russillo: ‘FROGGY FOOTSTOMP’ COUNTERS! DOUBLE FOOT STOMP SHUTS VALERIE DOWN! NOW GOES FOR A COVER, A HOOK TO HER LEG! KOREY MIGHT GET IT!
Persephone: YES YES YES! END THIS MATCH, I BEG!
ONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
THREEEEE!
James Peters: NO! VALERIE’S FOOT IS ON THE BOTTOM ROPE! SHE’S STILL IN THIS MATCH! SHE’S ALIVE! THE MATCH IS STILL ON!
Persephone: NO! REF, YOU IDIOT! SHE DID NOT!
James Peters: Korey knows he has a big opportunity to win right there, and now he’s climbing up to the top! Valerie tries to get back up, but it’s going to be too late! Korey is already up there, standing tall!… FLYING OFF FOR ‘OKIE NAP TIME’ CORKSCREW MOONSAULT INTO A LEG DROP!
Rich Russillo: VALERIE MOVES OUT OF THE WAY ONCE AGAIN! KOREY AND SHE BOTH ROLL BACK TO THEIR FEET AT THE SAME TIME!… KOREY RUNS IN FOR THE- OH NO, WAIT A SECOND!!!!
James Peters: VALERIE JUST PULLED THE REFEREE IN FRONT OF HER AND CAUSED KOREY TO HIT HIM WITH AN ELBOW!!! THE REFEREE TURNS AND HOLDS HIS JAW IN PAIN- AND NOW VALERIE LOW BLOWS KOREY GAINES!!! VALERIE JUST LOW BLOWED KOREY WHILE THE REFEREE’S BACK WAS TURNED!
Rich Russillo; VALERIE NOW LIFTING HIM UP FOR ‘G.T.S’ !!!!!! GO TO SLEEP DROPS KOREY! SHE DOES IT! VALERIE GOES FOR A COVER AS SHE JUST CAUGHT THE REFEREE’S ATTENTION!
OOONNNEEEEEEEEEEE!
TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
THREEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
( DING DING DING! )
Bella Braxton: HERE IS YOUR WINNER!…. VALERIE HELLSTORM!
Persephone: LET’S GO! THE MATCH IS OVER!
James Peters: There is your winner, Valerie Hellstorm! I’m really not a fan of how she pulled that one off, though. She had to resort to dirty tactics, low blowing Korey in order to pick up the victory.
Rich Russillo: I’m sure she couldn’t care less how anyone else feels about that win, though. In the end, she won her first match as a member of the Voltage roster. Congratulations on your win over Korey Gaines, Valerie!
Persephone: Stop trying to hype her up. If you can’t beat Korey Gaines you might as well retire.
( ‘good 4 u’ by Olivia Rodrigo begins playing throughout the arena as Valerie raises her hand up high in the air. She feels great to be the woman there tonight, while Korey Gaines sits on the apron, looking quite disappointed and shaking his head before walking to the back alone. Meanwhile, Valerie continues to celebrate her win over Korey as the scene fades out.)
(Slowly, as the Voltage broadcast begins to return from the screen blankness following the previous match, the camera angle pans to a long shot of the Amica Mutual Arena, Providence Rhode Island. The center of the camera angle specifically focuses directly above the middle of the ramp, fitting in as much as it can in the shot from the left side of the screen to the right – such as the ring, the crowd, the ramp, and the yellow graphics of the Voltage entrance stage. The camera, set up on a crane in front of the arena ribbon LED’s high up in the rafters, would eventually pan over to just focus on the titantron, where we begin to see footage of the backstage area. Eventually, the seated crowd would begin to cheer, as none other than Harper Lee and Holly Arrow walk backstage, heading toward the gorilla position. Harper is wearing her casual clothes, whereas Holly is fully in her attire, as she adjusts the thigh straps of her attire, alongside the armbands. The two of them have their Championships around their waists)
Harper Lee: Voltage is gonna be great! The two best wrestlers in EAW beating, like, one of the worst and a pretty decent one, I guess. We’re about to show who the top two on this brand really are.
(Holly chuckles to Harper’s mocking and confident comments, as the two continue to walk forward, making their way over to the arena. Eventually, a door opens, and closes within seconds, before POTARA both bump into somebody. Not hard or anything, but just a VERY slight nudge on the shoulder.)
???: Uhm. Watch where you’re going, I’m-
(The female voice cuts themselves off, as she notices who bumped into them. Panning outward, the camera reveals that they bumped into none other than Eden Sinclair, exiting her office, holding a file of papers. She looks up and down at POTARA, before shaking her head ever so slightly.)
Eden Sinclair: Oh, it’s you two. The… tag champions, I guess.
Harper Lee: “I guess?” I-
(Holly puts her hand in front of Harper lee slightly.)
Holly Arrow: Not worth it.
Harper Lee:…Probably.
(Eden Sinclair looks at both of them, and it’s clear by her expression that she’s… unimpressed. Clearly there’s a tiny bit of tension between these two, but perhaps they’d be more if Holly hadn’t intervened, realizing that it’s not the best of ideas. Eden, however, has other plans.)
Eden Sinclair: You know, you two best hurry to the ring already. I’m already a little unimpressed by you two, don’t wanna let me down even more.
(This time, however, it’s Holly whose eyebrows change in reaction, as if it were souring up to sour candy or food.)
Harper & Holly: Huh????
Eden Sinclair: You heard me. Don’t give me lip. You two have a lot to prove here. And besides; who names their team ‘POTATO’?
(POTARA look at one another with an extremely confused reaction, both of their expressions reading out as if they were saying “ain’t no way” to one another.)
Harper Lee: …Can I *now*?
Holly Arrow: Go ahead.
Harper Lee: To be honest, Eden, I think we need more respect! I know you can boss other people around like that, but not us! You need us!
Holly Arrow: We’re Champions, Eden. We brought gold to *your* brand. *We* beat every other possible brand, and that deserves acknowledgement here. I don’t mean any disrespect… yet… but we deserve to be acknowledged for all of the effort we’ve actually put in. We’re no brand supremacists, despite me loving Voltage; but we carry these titles with pride because we know we’re the best this brand actually has to offer. We carry your flag with pride, and we’ve worked harder than anyone. We’ve worked hard enough to prove that we’re the best team out there. Across every brand. Across every company. The best PERIOD. I’d have thought that comes with some acknowledgement and respect, right? I’d have assumed that being Champion means that we’re treated better than being disrespected by our own boss.
Harper Lee: I mean, let’s be honest. Not only are we Champions. Not only did we just have one of if not the best title defense in these belts’ history. Not only are we the best tag team in the world. But we’re the greatest acquisition in Voltage history. We’re bringing something entirely different to the table, and that comes with the fact that we’re not just doing one thing and excelling at it. We’re excelling at everything. Tag team wrestling, singles wrestling – which we’ll prove tonight by picking up two singles victories – whatever it is you name it, we’ll do it. We’re not some pushovers, I mean, I’m sure Alex Myers you could get away with doing this to but not us! We’re not on that level, we’re far above it, and you should act like it.
(Eden Sinclair rolls her eyes, and sighs.)
Eden Sinclair: Yeah. Whatever. You keep telling yourself that, and go wrestle your matches, ‘kay?
(Eden is CLEARLY not listening. If anything, it was just background noise to her; she isn’t taking POTARA seriously whatsoever, and this evidently gets on their nerves. Holly and Harper are two sides of the same coin. They both are considered to be “chaotic good” but each one leans to the other side. Harper chaotic, Holly good – however in this moment, both of them are fully on the chaotic side, mainly because of the fact that they’re not taking any of this from Eden Sinclair despite the fact she’s their boss. If anything it’s because of that fact.)
Harper Lee: “Whatever”?? Is that really how you’re going to approach us?
Holly Arrow: You know what? Fine. You can play that game. I have an idea, Harper. I’m sure you’ll love it!
Harper Lee: Oh yeah? Do tell.
(Eden Sinclair looks at both of them, shaking her head.)
Holly Arrow: Challengers, Eden. Challengers. We had the best Unified Tag Team Championship defense at Pain For Pride but just because we brought these titles to a whole other level doesn’t mean we’re going to sit around idly, and damn well not when you’re going to overlook us the way you have been now. We’ve had that big defense, and now we want more. If you’re just going to treat us the way that you have been, we’re going to FORCE you to acknowledge the mere FACT that we’re the best this company has to offer, whether you want to swallow that bitter pill or not.
Harper Lee: Oh, I like that idea. It’ll finally shut her up that’s for sure. I mean, imagine being our boss, and not accepting that we’re the best! Just treating us like we’re mid! Are you even good at your job? We are. We’ll prove that by taking on anyone, any time. We’ll defend these titles as much as we want, much to the dismay of a certain team that thinks we’re ruining the lineage of these belts or whatever. You really wanna write us off so bad? Give us a challenge, and we’ll be happy to prove you wrong immediately.
(Eden Sinclair, still, doesn’t budge.)
Eden Sinclair: Uh huh. Yeah. I heard the Off-Brand Amphetamines are calling. Go talk to Captain Charisma about it or something.
(Eden is acting like the perfect Starbucks teenage girl barista. If she had chewing gum and a phone to hold in one hand, as she places a hand on one hip, looking down at her phone, replying in a bitchy tone, that’s exactly who you think she was right now, because she does not care to listen to POTARA much longer. She just wants to go about her day, and have them wrestle, and she’s disrespecting them in the process. This doesn’t sit well with them at all.)
Harper Lee: Hmmm… you know what I think the issue here is, Holly?
Holly Arrow: What is it?
(Holly can tell immediately by Harper’s tone that she’s about to say something wild, and is doing nothing to stop it. If anything, it’s amusing.)
Harper Lee: Maybe we should cut her some slack! I mean, she’s obviously had a busy few weeks…
(Eden’s eyes lit up. Finally! Someone understands her struggles-)
Harper Lee: Being pregnant with Ronan Malosi’s baby must be hard work! Not just the general carrying of a child, but knowing that it’s RONAN’S! :mjlol: :mjlol: :mjlol:
Holly Arrow: :mjlol: :mjlol: :mjlol:
(If there were a ray of light shining above Eden Sinclair’s head right now, it immediately turned into a ray of fire following Harper’s comment, as her lit up eyes immediately transitions into a burning rage.)
Eden Sinclair: Excuse me? What the hell did you just say???
Harper Lee:
Eden Sinclair: You know, this really isn’t how you treat your boss. If anything, this isn’t how you treat someone period. But, just a reminder, I AM your boss and I AM in control. You may think stuff like this is funny, but to me? I won’t forget it. Not one bit. You can keep cracking jokes, but I promise you, if you try to mess with me – either of you – you will suffer for it. I will make your lives MISERABLE and it’ll all be your fault. And believe me, this isn’t a joke. You two may be comedians, but I’m not. Bite that damn tongue.
(Harper and Holly look at one another, satisfied.)
Holly Arrow: Right. Got your message… “boss.” We’ll get off your back, right Harper?
Harper Lee: Totally. Clearly it’s getting a little too heated…
(In their sarcastic tones, Harper and Holly look at one another, before walking off. They do have matches to prepare for, after all; they can’t hang around here all day.)
Eden Sinclair: Those two…
(Eden Sinclair watches them leave the scene, shaking her head and scowling. Maybe she deserved those comments, maybe not, one thing is for certain; it shook her. It absolutely reached her, which was the intention after all. Eden Sinclair remains in center frame as she watches POTARA leave the scene, raging, her mood definitely soured if not worse – and, realistically, it was never sweet to begin with. The camera lingers on that final shot, before transitioning with a fade elsewhere.)
(Commercial for the new Lil Uzi Vert album “The Pink Tape”, listen to it now!)
(Voltage returns to ringside, and the camera fades to the commentary table as ‘Changed it’ by Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne is heard playing. The fans are cheering as for the upcoming match there’s a fourth person at the commentary table, that being none other than the Specialists Champion Milli Banks. Milli has her Championship on her shoulder, and a smile on her face.)
James Peters: Ladies and gentlemen, tonight we have Milli Banks joining us for this upcoming match between Holly Arrow and Jamie Cross!
Persephone: Yayyyy… I sure love being forced to do commentary with Elitists not named Rex. 🙄
Milli Banks: Chile, y’all know I wasn’t about to miss a match between Holly and Jamie. I get to see what Jamie can do against someone talented ahead of our title match, and I get to front-row seats to watch Holly compete.
(‘Anti-Hero (Rock Version)’ by Taylor Swift hits, and this causes cheers to come from the crowd as Jamie Cross walks out to the stage. Jamie has a smile on her face, seemingly prepared for the upcoming match, and as she makes her way to the ring she locks eyes with Milli Banks, slowly nodding her head as she understands Milli will be paying close attention to her performance tonight.)
Bella Braxton: Introducing first… From Chicago, Illinois… Weighing in at 133 pounds… JAAAAMMIIIIEEEEE CRRROOOOSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
James Peters: Well here comes Jamie Cross, and she looks ready for this match! This is a pretty big one for her too, as she has the opportunity to potentially defeat a Champion before her Championship match.
Rich Russillo: That’s right, and Milli I did notice her look over in this direction. Do you think you being here might throw her off her game a bit, or will it motivate her even further?
Milli Banks: Best case scenario it’d be the latter, but I’m here for either one. Either way I get to see just how much her heart’s really in it, and that’s cool with me.
Persephone: Hopefully her heart’s not in it at all so we can wrap this up quickly.
(‘Lapdance’ by NERD follows, and the cheers only continue as Holly Arrow walks out alongside her POTARA tag team partner Harper Lee. Holly has her Unified Tag Team Championship around her waist, and before long the two begin to make their way down the ramp. The POTARA tag team members speak to each other on their way down the ramp, and as Holly makes it to ringside she also looks over to Milli, sharing a few words with her given their friendship over the past months.)
Bella Braxton: And her opponent, accompanied by Harper Lee… From Auckland, New Zealand… Weighing in at 149 pounds… SHE IS ONE HALF OF THE UNIFIED TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS, HHOOOLLLLLYYYYYY ARRRROOWWWW!!!!
James Peters: And there’s the Unified Tag Team Champions! Milli, I understand you’ve come to know these two pretty well. Do you have any preference when it comes to who wins this match, or are you fine with whatever the outcome may be?
Milli Banks: Any other match and maybe it’d be the former, but I’m not gonna pick favorites here tonight. I’m rooting for both of ’em. I wanna see Holly succeed, and I want my next challenger to be in the best shape possible for when she faces me.
Rich Russillo: That’s a great answer, and I look forward to seeing how this one plays out. Holly is a Champion and had an amazing last season, but Jamie has definitely risen up the ranks especially after Pain for Pride. We’ll see how that plays a part in tonight’s match.
(Ding! Ding! Ding!)
James Peters: This match is now underway, and both Elitists quickly lock up in the middle of the ring! Holly is able to apply a side headlock, and Jamie runs into the ropes to try and push Holly off of her- but Holly instead takes Jamie down with a headlock takedown! Holly has Jamie in the grounded headlock, but Jamie pulls Holly off of her with a headscissors as both Elitists get to their feet! Jamie now swinging at Holly, BUT HOLLY DUCKS UNDER AND HOOKS THE ARM BEFORE PULLING JAMIE INTO A SHORT ARM LARIAT- NO! JAMIE DUCKED IT!
Rich Russillo: That was a close one, AND NOW JAMIE CONNECTS WITH A SUPERKICK THAT CAUSES HOLLY TO STUMBLE A BIT! JAMIE NOW RUNNING THE ROPES- BUT NOW HOLLY DROPS TO THE MAT AS JAMIE RUNS OVER HER AND BOUNCES OFF OF THE OPPOSITE PAIR- RIGHT INTO AN ARM DRAG BY HOLLY! Holly keeps Jamie grounded with a rear chinlock- BUT JAMIE IS ABLE TO TURN AROUND AND SWEEP HOLLY’S LEG! JAMIE NOW LOOKING TO TRY AND CATCH HOLLY OFF GUARD WITH A QUICK COVER!
ON-
Rich Russillo: Not even a one, but now both Elitists get back to their feet!
Persephone: Jamie tries to scoop Holly up into a fireman’s carry, but Holly just slipped out of Jamie’s grasp before delivering a very ugly half and half suplex. Thankfully Holly wastes no time capitalizing either, because she just pulled Jamie into a front facelock and delivered multiple knees to the midsection, before following it up with a snap suplex! PLEASE keep this kind of offense up so this match can end sooner!
Milli Banks: Jamie’s gotta be careful of this kind of thing. Y’all know as well as I do what happens once Holly gets going. It’s not easy finding a way to stop her.
James Peters: You’re right about that. Jamie just rolled to the corner of the ring before using the turnbuckles to pull herself up, BUT HOLLY RUNS IN BEFORE DELIVERING A FOREARM! Holly takes Jamie to the mat with a snapmare, AND IN A SURPRISING TURN OF EVENTS SHE LOOKS TO TRANSITION INTO A FUJIWARA ARMBAR, SEEMINGLY PLANNING TO WORK ON THE ARM- BUT JAMIE DOESN’T GIVE HER THAT OPPORTUNITY AS SHE QUICKLY ROLLS OVER AND PULLS HOLLY INTO ANOTHER PIN!
ONE!
T-
James Peters: HOLLY KICKS OUT, BUT JAMIE IS ABLS TO GET UP AND CONNECT WITH A ROUNDHOUSE KICK!
Rich Russillo: HOLLY STUMBLES INTO THE CORNER, AND NOW JAMIE RUNS IN BEFORE CONNECTING WITH A RUNNING HIGH KNEE! Holly stumbling out of the corner as Jamie runs the ropes, AND NOW IT LOOKS LIKE IT’S JAMIE THAT’S GAINING MOMENTUM AS SHE CONNECTS WITH A CLOTHESLINE!!! HOLLY IS FORCED TO ROLL OUT OF THE RING, BUT IT LOOKS LIKE JAMIE ISN’T ABOUT TO GIVE HOLLY ANY TIME TO BREATHE AS SHE IMMEDIATELY BEGINS RUNNING THE ROPES! HOLLY IS BACK TO HER FEET BUT THAT MIGHT NOT LAST FOR LONG AS JAMIE GOES FOR A SUICIDE DIVE-
Persephone: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH!!!!! WHAT AN IDIOT!!!! HOLLY JUST ELBOWED JAMIE OUT OF THE AIR AND MADE HER CRASH RIGHT ONTO THE FLOOR! She looked so stupid!
Milli Banks: Nah, I’ll give her some props. Holly’s been doing this at the highest level for a while now, and for a minute there Jamie was getting some good offense in. She got caught, that’s all.
James Peters: I couldn’t agree more, Milli. And Persephone, would it kill you to at least pretend to care about what’s going on?
Persephone: After last season? Yes, yes it would. I can’t do that again.
James Peters: Whatever. Anyways, Holly sends Jamie rignt back into the ring, and it looks like Harper likes what she’s seeing right now judging by that smirk on her face. Milli I have to ask, we know you’ve seemingly become friends with the POTARA members, but how do you think this match between Holly and Jamie will go?
Milli Banks: Too early to tell. It’s an uphill battle for Jamie, but if she’s gonna keep her word and be a good challenge for me, she’s gonna have to get used to facing top-level competition, right? This is a good opportunity for her.
Rich Russillo: That’s true, though since Holly re-entered the ring she’s already delivered a knee drop to the face of Jamie, and now she’s going back to that arm as she has Jamie in a grounded hammerlock. Jamie is slowly starting to push her way back up though, and if she can make a comeback here that’d be huge for her! We know she’s a big fan of superhero movies, maybe she can have her own little superhero moment if she can escape this hold!
Persephone: God, why are all of the people here such losers? You’re a nerd, Jamie’s a nerd, Holly’s a nerd, Harper’s a nerd, why can’t I be surrounded by normal people?
James Peters: Jamie manages to get to a knee, AND NOW SHE USES HER FREE ARM TO PULL HOLLY DOWN WITH A SNAPMARE! BOTH ELITISTS GET BACK TO THEIR FEET AND JAMIE QUICKLY SCOOPS HOLLY UP BEFORE DROPPING HER WITH A BODY SLAM, FOLLOWED BY A STANDING FROG SPLASH! THAT CLEARLY DID THE DAMAGE AS HOLLY STUMBLES INTO THE CORNER ONCE AGAIN, AND NOW JAMIE RUNS IN FOR A BACK ELBO- NO! HOLLY MOVED OUT OF THE WAY- BUT JAMIE GETS THE BOOT UP AND KNOCKS HOLLY BACKWARDS BEFORE SHE COULD STRIKE!
Milli Banks: There we go, that was cute.
Rich Russillo: Jamie now running in with a knee strike that turns Holly around, AND NOW JAMIE LIFTS HOLLY FOR THE OLYMPIC SLAM- BUT HOLLY SLIPS BEHIND JAMIE BEFORE LIFTING HER UP FOR A GERMAN SUPLEX- WHICH JAMIE IS ABLE TO FLIP OUT OF AS SHE LANDS ON HER FEET! JAMIE NOW WITH A DROPKICK THAT SENDS HOLLY RIGHT INTO THE ROPES, AND JAMIE SCOOPS HOLLY UP OFF THE REBOUND BEFORE DROPPING HER WITH AN USHIGOROSHI! JAMIE CROSS NOW HOOKING THE LEGS, LOOKING TO PUT THIS ONE AWAY!
ONE!
TW-
Persephone: Yawn, another kickout.
Milli Banks: :cmon: Holly ain’t the type to go down that quickly. Jamie’s on fire right now though. She keeps this up and I might be in for an even bigger challenge than I thought.
James Peters: Holly is on all fours and is slowly pushing herself back up to a knee, AND NOW THERE’S ANOTHER SUPERKICK BY JAMIE, CAUSING HOLLY TO BACKPEDAL INTO THE ROPES- JUST FOR HOLLY TO BOUNCE OFF OF THE ROPES AND CONNECT WITH A BIG BOOT!!!! THIS TIME IT’S JAMIE THAT BOUNCES OFF OF THE ROPES, AND SHE HITS HOLLY WITH A RUNNING EUROPEAN UPPERCUT!!!!! THAT ONE MIGHT HAVE KNOCKED HOLLY OUT BUT ONCE AGAIN SHE AS SHE FALLS INTO THE ROPES-
Rich Russillo: AND THERE’S THE JAWBREAKER LARIAT!!!!! WHAT A WAY TO SAVE HERSELF AS HOLLY HUNG ONTO THE ROPES AND REBOUNDED BACK INTO THE RING, POSSIBLY TAKING JAMIE’S HEAD OFF WITH THAT LARIAT!!! Holly takes a second to check on her own jaw following that uppercut, but Holly is able to hook the legs as this one might just be over!
ONE!
TWO!!
THRE-
Milli Banks: :notbad: She kicked out! Good for her, that lariat really could’ve ended it.
Persephone: Should’ve ended it.
James Peters: Holly notices Jamie slowly trying to push herself to all fours, SO SHE QUICKLY APPLIES A GUILLOTINE CHOKE BEFORE ROLLING ONTO HER BACK! JUST LIKE THAT JAMIE CROSS IS TRAPPED IN THAT GUILLOTINE CHOKE, AND IT LOOKS LIKE HOLLY IS TRYING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE FACT THAT JAMIE MUST STILL BE FEELING THE EFFECTS OF THAT LARIAT! There’s a good chance Jamie hit her head on her way back to the mat, and thanks to that she’s not gonna have an easy time trying to fight her way out of a choke!
Rich Russillo: Let’s not forget that Holly is also the bigger Elitist here, even if it’s not an extremely major difference between the two. This won’t be easy for Jamie, and we may very well see Jamie pass out right now! It’s either that or tapping out if Jamie can’t fight her way out of this, because I don’t see her getting a rope break from this position!
Milli Banks: Nah, Holly got her. She’s gonna have to power out of this one way or another, or this match is over.
James Peters: You’re definitely right about that, because it looks like Jamie might actually be fading! If that really is the case, then this match might be ending far sooner than any of us really expected it to! Holly Arrow’s style has definitely changed overtime, and with her more submission and power based style that she’s developed over the past year, Jamie is definitely in trouble whenever she’s put in positions where she can’t really build any momentum! Jamie is getting weaker and weaker, and now I think the referee is about to check the arm to determine whether or not he should call it-
Rich Russillo: WAIT A SECOND!!!! JAMIE DOESN’T EVEN GIVE THE REF A CHANCE TO CHECK HER AS SHE QUICKLY PUSHES HERSELF BACK TO A KNEE! JAMIE PLANTS A FOOT BEFORE SLOWLY LIFTING HOLLY UP, AND NOW SHE GETS TO HER OTHER FOOT FOR JUST A SECOND BEFORE PLANTING HOLLY WITH A SPINEBUSTER!!!! JAMIE ROLLS INTO THE CORNER, AND HOLLY IS HURTING!!!! JAMIE WITH AN AMAZING WAY TO GET OUT OF THAT SUBMISSION WHILE ALSO TURNING THE TABLES COMPLETELY! Jamie uses the turnbuckles to pull herself up, meanwhile Holly gets to her knees! Wait a second, JAMIE HAS SOMETHING PLANNED!
Persephone: YES!!!! GOOD!!! SHE JUST HIT HOLLY WITH THE SILVER KNEE!!! YES, PIN HER! PIN HER PIN HER PIN HER!
Milli Banks: :oh: She did! Jamie’s pinning Holly, but is that gonna be it?
ONE!
TWO!!
THRE-
Milli Banks: Nah, not yet!
James Peters: Holly managed to get the shoulder up, which means that Jamie still has a long way to go if she wants to pick up the victory tonight! Jamie slowly gets back up to her feet, and she has to take some time to catch her breath after being trapped in the guillotine choke for so long, though you have to wonder if she’s giving Holly time to recover too by doing that.
Rich Russillo: Jamie likely knows the risk involved there, AND NOW SHE LOOKS TO MAKE UP FOR IT AS SHE GOES FOR A SPRINGBOARD MOONSAULT- BUT HOLLY MANAGED TO ROLL OUT OF THE WAY!!!! You were right James, she definitely gave Holly just a bit too much time to recover! Holly is still hurting and is forced to grab onto the ropes to begin pulling herself up, but that was a very bad landing for Jamie that could definitely affect her performance going forward!
Persephone: Hopefully it does. The sooner this match ends, the sooner we can get to something WAY more important than watching these two fight 😁.
James Peters: Jamie Cross gets back up, AND NOW SHE RUNS AT HOLLY- BUT HOLLY DUCKS DOWN AND LIFTS JAMIE OVER THE TOP ROPE! Holly stumbles away from the ropes but she doesn’t know Jamie landed on the apron, AND NOW JAMIE LOOKS TO CUT THROUGH HER WITH A SLINGSHOT SPEAR- BUT HOLLY DID HAVE IT SCOUTED AFTER ALL!!! HOLLY MANAGED TO GRAB JAMIE AND PULL HER INTO A FRONT FACELOCK, AND NOW HOLLY QUICKLY PULLS JAMIE BACK INTO THE RING BEFORE GOING FOR A-
Rich Russillo: JAMIE CROSS CONNECTS WITH A NORTHEN LIGHTS SUPLEX!!!! JAMIE DOESN’T STOP THERE, THOUGH! SHE ROLLS OVER ONTO HER FEET BEFORE PULLING HOLLY UP AND TRANSITIONING INTO A FRONT FACELOCK BEFORE HOOKING HOLLY’S ARM OVER HER HEAD! JAMIE NOW WITH A SUPLEX- NO! HOLLY BRINGS HERSELF DOWN TO HER FEET, AND NOW SHE HITS JAMIE WITH A VERTICAL SUPLEX OF HER OWN! THIS TIME IT’S HOLLY THAT’S NOT DONE AS SHE PULLS JAMIE UP BEFORE SENDING HER INTO THE TURNBUCKLES WITH AN EXPLODER SUPLEX!!!
Milli Banks: Aye, Jamie’s hanging in there. It’s not like she’s in an easy match right now. She’s really not doing bad.
Persephone: Really? I think she’s doing terrible.
Milli Banks: And that’s good for you, but Jamie’s about to fight for *thee* title in EAW, I don’t think she needs to worry about what you think.
James Peters: Jamie is in a seated position in the corner as Holly gets back up, AND NOW HOLLY RUNS IN- BUT JAMIE DIVES OUT OF THE WAY, CAUSING HOLLY TO CRASH INTO THE TURNBUCKLES!!!!! JAMIE PUSHES HERSELF BACK UP BEFORE RUNNING IN, AND NOW SHE DELIVERS A BACK ELBOW, QUICKLY FOLLOWED BY AN ENZUIGIRI!!!!! HOLLY STUMBLES AROUND, AND NOW JAMIE SLOWLY MANAGES TO LIFT HOLLY UP IN HER ARMS!!!! ARE WE ABOUT TO SEE THE JAMIE SPECIAL???
Rich Russillo: JAMIE BEGINS CHARGING TO THE OPPOSITE CORNER- BUT HOLLY SLIPS OUT OF JAMIE’S HANDS BEFORE LANDING ON HER FEET!!! HOLLY GRABS JAMIE FROM BEHIND BEFORE CROSS COULD TURN AROUND, AND NOW HOLLY PULLS HER IN FOR THE EMPEROR’S TIME- WAIT NO!!! JAMIE DUCKS UNDER BEFORE DROPPING HOLLY WITH AN STO!!! What a move by Jamie Cross, and this match has definitely reached a stage where I’m really not sure who’ll win! Holly Arrow is a Champion in EAW and has been here longer, but Jamie might be able to pull off the upset!
Persephone: Well whatever happens, it better happen soon! Jamie runs to the ropes and she manages to connect with the springboard moonsault this time, but how is she going to follow it up this time? She slowly pulls Holly up before hooking the arms and… OH! WAIT, IS SHE ACTUALLY GONNA END THE MATCH!? YES, THAT’S HOW SHE SETS UP THAT ONE STUPID FINISHER, RIGHT!?
Milli Banks: Calls it the Arc Reactor if I’m not mistaken. Love Holly, but she could be in trouble if it connects.
James Peters: JAMIE GOES FOR THE ARC REACTOR- BUT IT DOES NOT CONNECT!!!! HOLLY MANAGED TO LAND ON HER FEET, AND NOW SHE GRABS JAMIE BY THE ARM AND SENDS HER RIGHT INTO THE TURNBUCKLES!!!!! HOLLY PLAYED THAT SMART TOO, THAT’S THE SAME ARM SHE WAS WORKING ON EARLIER, AND JAMIE’S SHOULDER IS WHAT HIT THOSE TURNBUCKLES JUST NOW! That wasn’t an accident, a competitor like Holly would know exactly what she’s doing in a situation like this! That was a very smart move, one that may have just helped her chances greatly.
Rich Russillo: Jamie holds her shoulder as she turns away from the corner- RIGHT INTO A SHOOT KICK FROM HOLLY!! THERE’S A SECOND ONE NOW!! AND A THIRD!!! HOLLY NOW LOOKING FOR A FORTH, BUT JAMIE CATCHES THE LEG BEFORE TURNING AND PUTTING HOLLY IN THE CORNER! JAMIE NOW WITH A FOREARM, AND NOW A SECOND! A THIRD BY JAMIE NOW! JAMIE LOOKS FOR A FORTH- BUT NOW HOLLY CATCHES THE ARM BEFORE PUTTING JAMIE IN THE CORNER! THESE TWO ARE GOING BACK AND FORTH, AND NOW HOLLY KICKS JAMIE IN THE MIDSECTION, DROPPING JAMIE TO A SEATED POSITION!
James Peters: Holly now going for a stomp- BUT JAMIE CATCHES THE LEG!!! JAMIE NOW PUSHING HOLLY AWAY BEFORE GETTING BACK TO HER FEET, AND JAMIE RUNS IN BEFORE DELIVERING A RUNNING ENZUIGIRI!!!! Jamie is back to her feet, but she’s holding that arm! It looks like Holly got what she wanted, as she definitely did some damage! That’s gonna limit Jamie pretty badly, especially given how the Arc Reactor is set up.
Milli Banks: That’s Holly’s style. She knew what she was getting into, she’s gonna have to deal with it.
Rich Russillo: Jamie starts pulling Holly up, and I think Jamie knows that she can’t rely on the Arc Reactor right now! Holly is on her knees, and now Jamie backs into the corner for the move she was able to connect with earlier on in the match! If this connects once again Holly might just be out, AND NOW JAMIE RUNS IN FOR THE SILVER KNEE!!!!
Persephone: NOPE! FOR SOME REASON NOBODY CAN HIT THEIR BIG MOVES AROUND HERE, AND INSTEAD HOLLY GOT OUT OF THE WAY! I SURE LOVE WHEN MATCHES TAKE FOREVER TO END!!!
James Peters: WAIT A SECOND, THOUGH! HOLLY DIDN’T JUST AVOID IT, SHE JUST GRABBED JAMIE FROM BEHIND, AND NOW SHE PULLS HER IN BEFORE DROPPING HER WITH THE EMPEROR’S TIME!!!! THE EMPEROR’S TIME CONNECTS, AND NOW HOLLY SEEMS TO WANT JAMIE BACK UP, POSSIBLY TO PUT THIS ONE AWAY!!!!
Rich Russillo: JAMIE STUMBLED BACK TO HER FEET, AND NOW HOLLY MANAGES TO APPLY THE SUBMISSION! “SUNSET PEAK” IS LOCKED IN, AND THAT’S NOT JUST ANY REGULAR SUBMISSION!!! THAT’S AN OCTOPUS STRETCH, JUST LIKE EAW LEGEND KENDRA SHAMEZ USED!!!! JAMIE IS TRAPPED, AND HOLLY REALLY DID KNOW WHAT SHE WAS DOING, BECAUSE SHE’S USING ALL HER STRENGTH TO PULL ON THAT BAD ARM!
Milli Banks: Yeah, I’d be surprised to see her get outta that. All respect to Jamie, but she’s gonna have to keep stepping her game up if she wants to end my Championship reign!
James Peters: Jamie drops to a knee, AND SHE’S TRYING AS HARD AS SHE CAN TO KEEP HERSELF INTO THIS AND POSSIBLY REACH THE ROPES, BUT AS WE SAID BEFORE, HOLLY IS THE BIGGER WOMAN HERE! IT’S BAD ENOUGH THAT HOLLY HAS A HOLD LIKE THIS APPLIED, BUT SHE HAS THE POWER ADVANTAGE AS WELL! Jamie keeps trying though, and you have to respect the heart she’s bringing tonight!
Persephone: Do we really!? What does it matter if she can’t get out of the submission?
Rich Russillo: JAMIE IS CLOSE TO THE ROPES, BUT SHE CAN’T REACH THEM JUST YET!!!! SHE’S TRYING AS HARD AS SHE CAN TO SLOWLY FIGHT THROUGH THE PAIN AND REACH THE ROPES-
James Peters: BUT HOLLY STARTS PULLING ON THE ARM EVEN HARDER THAN BEFORE!!!! HOLLY PULLS BACK AS HARD AS SHE CAN ON THE ARM AND THAT’S IT!!!! JAMIE HAS NO OTHER CHOICE, SHE TAPS OUT AND THIS ONE IS OVER!!!!!!
(Ding! Ding! Ding!)
Bella Braxton: Here is your winner… ONE HALF OF THE UNIFIED TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS, HOOLLLLYYYYY AAARRRROOWWWWW!!!!!!
(‘Lapdance’ hits, and Holly Arrow lets go of Jamie Cross before taking a bit to catch her breath. Harper Lee heads over to the timekeepees area as the referee raises Holly’s hands, and when Harper returns to the ring she hands Holly her Unified Tag Team Championship.)
James Peters: That was a hard-fought match, but in the end Holly Arrow is able to pick up the victory. Any thoughts on that, Milli?
Milli Banks: Jamie did good, I have no complaints. Looking forward to seeing what she’s got once this Championship is on the line, ’cause she’s gonna need to be the best version of Jamie Cross once we’re in the ring together.
Rich Russillo: Thanks for joining us on commentary Milli, and good luck in your Specialists Championship match against Jamie. As for these two, well we all just saw the match that they had. Holly Arrow played it smart and targeted that arm at points, and Jamie didn’t realize what was going on until it was too late. It was a small oversight that cost her, but knowing how good she did tonight, she could come back from this even better.
Persephone: Yawn. This match was a snoozefest, I did NOT care about it. I’m just glad it’s finally over.
(As Holly’s entrance music continues, Milli removes her headset and enters the ring, joining Holly, Harper and Jamie. Jamie is in a seated position in the corner holding her arm, and Milli turns to her as the two future opponents stare at each other.)
Jamie Cross: (off-mic) I’ll prove myself soon enough, just you wait.
(A smirk appears on Milli’s face, and she just raises the Specialists Championship, knowing that that’s what they’ll be fighting for soon enough. The Unified Tag Team Champions also raise their titles following Holly’s victory, and the three would begin making their way out of the ring as Jamie watches on with a determined look on her face.)
James Peters: That Specialists Championship is what this is all about, and clearly both Milli and Jamie are looking forward to that match.
Rich Russillo: The only question is, who will win? Will Milli find yet another Championship defense, or will Jamie Cross do what she just said she would, and prove herself by becoming the new Specialists Champion?
(As the three Champions leave the ring, Holly and Milli share a few words with each other as they begin making their way up the ramp. Jamie is seen in the ring, seemingly thinking about the upcoming title match as Voltage fades away from ringside.)
(Commercial for Subway featuring Ronan Malosi. Order a Tuna Sub, it’s worth ruining your relationship for!)
( As the hard-cam of Voltage whirred to life, ‘Good For Her’ by MOTHICA blasted through the speakers; which arose some cheers from the Rhode Island crowd; though any and all support coming to the way of ‘The Serpent’ was drowned by an abundant amount of hatred; to the returning EAW Hall of Famer and needle-pusher herself, Cameron Ella Ava. And would you look at that, Pain For Pride didn’t halt any sort of appearances from the Legend herself, as Cameron began making her way out of the Titan-trons entrance, a rather smug grin on her face being surprising as she looked around the arena, being placed back unto the yellow brand; breathing it all in, enjoying the scenes, before finally making her way down the ramp towards the ring.)
Bella Braxton: MAKING HER WAY DOWN TO THE RING… EAW HALL OF FAMER…. ‘THE SERPENT’, CAMERON ELLA AVA!
( Voltage’s resident announcer would ring out as Cameron turned the corner of the ring, facing the apron that was directly shined upon by the hard cam, walking around to the opposing steel steps which held a microphone she’d quickly pick up; before finally making her way up the steps, switching herself on the edge of the ring as she walked onto the middle; not wavering in her smirk; even as a few confused looks rung from her at the reception she was being given, as Cameron finally stepped through the ropes as planted herself in the center of the ring; with her theme fading itself out slowly, allowing Cameron to finally get her time to speak. )
Cameron Ella Ava: You know, I just want to make sure all of my facts are in order here… I, Cameron Ella Ava – EAW Legend and Hall Of Famer, am making my official re-debut on Voltage for the season that JUST begun, a season that this brand will have to stick out with me because they were tasked with supplying this roster with the very best they could, and made the obvious call in choosing one of the greatest to ever a lace up a pair of boots… And Rhode Island; that’s the reception you think I am meant to be given? I mean truly, take it all into consideration here – you’re here for me whether you like that fact or not, so let’s get past the theatrics here and remove the bias to understand the MOMENT this is! You guys won – no, WE won! Voltage can officially be considered the best brand – the most PROSPEROUS brand of Season 17. . . Because of me.
( Admittedly, some of the crowd was moved by Cameron’s words, a few changing tides into her favor simply for the sake of supporting Voltage, though the majority didn’t unset themselves off of their opinion; though to that? Cameron didn’t waste time batting an eye. )
Cameron Ella Ava: Rhodes Island, trust me; that’s fine. Because if you love me, or you hate me – I hold the microphone. That means my voice can shatter through every single one of yours in this sold-out arena, and that’s down to the facts. But let’s back track a little bit shall we? To those accolades of mine, yes of course you can call me a Legend; that is a perfectly gauged assessment – but Bella hit it right on the nose, so please; might you do us all a favor with a bit of a reintroduction? Oh, and louder for those in the back.
( Cameron said, looking on at Bella who was seated, though Braxton quickly standing up and clearing her throat to stomach out another introduction. )
Bella Braxton: LADIES AND GENTLEMAN… EAW HALL OF FAMER… CAMERONNNN ELLLAAAA AVVVAAAAA!!!!
( Cameron winked at Bella, a very quick and small applause coming Braxton’s way, from the person she just reintroduced. )
Cameron Ella Ava: Stellar job, Bella. But let’s put a highlight out here, shall we? EAW Hall Of Famer. A title that isn’t just thrown around, dished to any Elitist who roams down this hallway – and one that isn’t new to being sat right next to my name. See, I’ve BEEN an EAW Hall of Famer for a long time now; and I will forever BE an EAW Hall of Famer because I will forever BE a permanent beauty mark on this company; and that is a fact. I will forever be a name drop for people I’ve never even heard of here, and that is a fact. I will forever be one of the most MONUMENTAL pieces of the puzzle that EAW needed to become what it is today, and that?
Cameron Ella Ava: That is a fact.
Cameron Ella Ava: Nobody can take those away from me, not a single living breathing organism can strip that from me; it’s almost identical to a birthright. Not Disney, not Methuselah, and for CERTAIN I can promise you that Sienna Jade has not and will never lower MY status that is too far cemented into the ground that it’d even shake at its roots for how bleak Pain for Pride might’ve ended in comparison to the results I wanted.
Cameron Ella Ava: But even so, if we’re getting down to it? I won. I won because I can finally rid myself of an issue that needed to reach its end, and I can move on with my career and my life to things that I find myself intrigued in. I’m not pensive; I am RELIEVED to know that Pain For Pride has come and gone, and that Voltage did NOT make the mistake of drafting Sienna Jade here alongside me. They split us off, and in the end? They got more bang for their buck astronomically.
( Cameron shrugged, not seeing any flaws in her logic, knowing that the end all be all of the entire situation? She got precisely what she wanted out of all of this. )
Cameron Ella Ava: This is why I’m here; to set the tone. I see a locker room full of boys and girls from entirely different backgrounds, dawning entirely different careers; all wanting that top spot on the roster, and unfortunately? It’s got a reservation acting as guard; because I’ve already claimed the top of the mountain; a position I more than deserve, but that I am stealing entirely.
Cameron Ella Ava: Because that’s just it. I see you, Minerva. I see you, Bethany. Holly, Harper, TLA, Jamie (hi honey), Donovan, Alex – I see you all; I’m not neglecting your existence – but I’m emphasizing the fact that I see who is coming for me and I’m not breaking a sweat because I know my throne is awaiting me once again. Defeated, faced, unknown – I’ll be entirely honest; I don’t care. There is no objective in my mind, nor is there a target I’m currently eyeing; the way I see it? Anyone can step up, and anyone can cross my path; but the result will always come to be the same. Always. Not only do I know that I am able to step up to the very best Voltage can serve my way; whomever you might think that can be? But I can also leave them down at my boots when I show them that Cameron Ella Ava is not the one to mess with, that is just a fact of life here on Voltage and one that I will gladly reiterate; but the next time I do it won’t come kindly.
Cameron Ella Ava: I’m in a position where my word isn’t in place of being questioned; I’ve been doing this for longer than some of my co workers even knew what Elite Answers Wrestling WAS. I’ve been proven. Time after time again, I’ve reached the standard and then raised it anew. I’ve come back from droughts and gave new life to this company; and now all I am ready to do is exactly what I always do. Make history – new history. Achieve the unachievable. Do the undoable. Make the people who are new to this product know that the grass is greener past their new breed favorites; because I might very well be a legend, but I’m still living here, in the flesh to continue to conquer more and more to satiate my never ending appetite to make yet another ‘Cameron Ella Ava Moment.’
Cameron Ella Ava: I will not be forgotten. I am simply like no other – nobody can do it like ME, and nobody will ever do it like ME. Top of my class, cut from a cloth that isn’t in use anymore; and I won’t allow anyone to say otherwise. Any generation. Any Elitist. Any Era. Line them up like dominos, and they will all come crashing down, Just. Like. That.
( Cameron said, stepping forward closer to the ropes as she leaned over them, staring deep into the camera with her grin she wore previously full off, a serious and focused look on her face as she wanted to make certain that any other Voltage Elitist was very aware of her intentions. )
Cameron Ella Ava: That, I can promise.
( Cameron said, not looking away from the direct camera, though dwindling the microphone down from her hand as ‘Good For Her’ by MOTHICA began to play through the speakers once more; with Cameron Ela Ava finally backing off the ropes into the center of the ring, focus being ever present in the moment as slowly; the cameras cut away momentarily, with Voltage heading to a commercial break. )
(Commercial for the upcoming “Five Nights at Freddy’s” movie.)
(Voltage fades back in from break. ‘El Gavilan’ would blast through the P.A System as Roberto De La Rosa emerges from the curtains and into the stage here on Sunday Night Voltage! He would be seen wearing an expensive all white custom designer suit. He holds the 24/7 Contract in his right hand as he bombarded with a somewhat mixed reaction. Being accompanied with Esmeralda De La Rosa, Diego De La Rosa, and Javier De La Rosa, aka his La Familia! They all look ecstatic to be here as the start marching their way over to the ring. )
Bella Braxton: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN…PLEASE WELCOME AT THIS TIME… THE CURRENT 24/7 CONTRACT HOLDER, AND THE LEADER OF LA FAMILIA… ROBERTO DE LA ROSSSAAAA!
James Peters: What an incredible feeling it must be to be Roberto De La Rosa right now. Pain for Pride happened to be one of the biggest wins of his career thus far, as he stood tall and won the 24/7 Battle Royal! He now holds a contract for a championship match of his choosing at any time!
Rich Russillo: Roberto outlasted the likes of Ayu Megumi, MITSUBACHI, Michael Machina, and the runner-up, Drake Armstrong. Roberto outlasted all of those competitors, and how he’s held an opportunity that many in this company work towards. He’ll have to choose wisely when or where he has to pick his spots. We have seen what that contract can do for careers like Donovan who used his opportunity at King of Elite 2022 and held that title for an entire year!
Persephone: Ugh, he’ll probably end up like Samuel, and lose his 24/7 opportunity title match when that time comes. He’s lucky he has his La Familia by his side, otherwise he would be nothing!
( Roberto holding the 24/7 contract with his right hand makes his way down the aisle, with Esmeralda beside him, and Javier and Diego following suit. Roberto would climb up the stairs and enter through the ring, as he holds the ropes for his wife to get in as Javier and Diego climb behind him. Roberto hands over his contract to Esmeralda, as he gets a microphone from ringside officials. He stands in the middle of the ring with smirk across his face as he begins speaking to the Voltage crowd. )
Roberto De La Rosa: Man does It feels great to be El Padrastro. Here we are, a brand new season for EAW and I find myself and the rest of La Familia on a brand new show for me to show off. Drafted to Sunday Night Voltage, as I find myself surrounded by not only familiar faces, but new ones as well. People that I have interacted with before, we are on the same show again while others who I haven’t had the pleasure of stepping into the ring with. I stand among the rest of the Voltage lockerroom with a special opportunity, a special contract. This was earned at Pain for Pride when i outlasted several other Elitists, and claimed victory as the 2023 24/7 Battle Royal Winner. Era mi destino, I know it was gonna be my destiny to win that match. It was only a matter of time before I would be gifted with an opportunity that many others would kill to have cabróns. Now I have all the power within my grasp.
( Roberto takes a second to recollect himself as he continues on. )
Roberto De La Rosa: I know that any time, I cash in this contract and get a championship match of my choosing. Everyone should be on the lookout for when that day inevitably occurs because it will be a glorious one for El Padrastro. Every champion on this brand should be on notice, they should have eyes at the back of their heads. You never know when Roberto De La Rosa is going to strike, and take that championship that you hold so dearly. Drake King you should be praying that I don’t use this on your reign amigo. TLA, you better be checking twice when you walk because I could take that title from you in a blink of an eye. Hans Grayson my old rival, you aren’t safe either my friend. Hell, all the champions should be keeping an eye for me, because I have the power to do just that. Whoever is the unlucky bastard that I my title match with, just know that El Artista Del Dolor will have no other option but to beat you and rightfully become champion.
( ‘Hikarunara’ by Goose House would suddenly begin to play as Mei Sasaki would emerge and make her official debut here on Sunday Night Voltage! She looks rejuvenated as she makes her entrance as Roberto looks confused as to why Mei Sasaki would come out here and interrupt him. Mei would also get a mixed response. )
Rich Russillo: Oh wow Mei Sasaki has shown up here on Voltage, this time she’s on her own. No Serenity Valdez nor Sierra Bradford on her side, Mei Sasaki looks like she has a chip on her shoulder!
Persephone: Why is she even out here! Go BEE a loser somewhere else!
James Peters: :cmon:
( Mei Sasaki slides from the bottom of the ropes and into the ring as she calls for a microphone to be handed to her. ‘Hikarunara’ would slowly fade out as Mei begins speaking to not Roberto but to the rest of the EAW fans here on Voltage. )
Mei Sasaki: Pain for Pride didn’t go the best for me, it didn’t go the way I hoped it would. I tapped out to Holly Arrow and failed to win the EAW Unified Tag Team Championships. Now I am here by myself, The Queen Bees are dead, it’s finished. Serenity, Sierra, and myself are no longer a group. Now that I am here on Voltage, this is my chance for a new beginning, move on to greener pastures. Establish myself as a rising commodity, and prove myself that I can be here in EAW on my own. The Dark Kitsune is here on Sunday Night Voltage, ready to make my mark!
( Mei would end up getting some cheers for that as Roberto with a confused look on his face asks Mei… )
Roberto De La Rosa: Hey Sweetheart, it’s nice that you’re looking forward to your future and what your goals are but what does any of that have to do with me? Did you interrupt me just to say all that?
( Mei responds back to Roberto… )
Mei Sasaki: I actually came here to congratulate you and compliment your efforts on winning the 24/7 Battle Royal at Pain for Pride. You won one of the toughest matches you can compete for this year, it’s chaotic, it utter mayhem but yet you stand here with that 24/7 Contract opportunity for a championship match of your choosing. There’s not many matches quite as difficult to be a part of like that, and I respect the effort you put in for winning that match, and how you had to work for it. If I want to establish myself this season, no longer being seen as just a running mate for Serenity, I want to start by facing Mr. 24/7 himself.
( Roberto looks towards Esmeralda and his cousins as he smiles at the nice words that were spoken by Mei as he responds right back at her. )
Roberto De La Rosa: I very much appreciated Mei but personally I have other business to attend to. Please go bother someone else with your goals and intentions of establishing yourself. There’s others on this roster you can do that too, I have other aspirations in mind. I’m on my way to elevate my career, reach new heights and take my status here in EAW to a whole nother level. I have no time to be at the Mei Saskai rehabilitation center. I have no time to be someone that establishes you as someone that can be in this company on their own. I’m on the fast track to be a campeona and if I’m going to be holding a campeona I want to face bigger competition to test myself and competition that actually has value, that means something to everyone here. I’ll tell you what Mei, pay attention to my match tonight. Pay attention to how easily I’m going to dispose of Bea Valentine in the middle of this ring. Let you get a first glance at what El Padrastro is all about.
Mei Sasaki: Sure I’ll pay attention, in fact I’ll even watch at ringside. I’ll see what Mr. 24/7 is all about!
Rich Russillo: Both Roberto and Mei both laid out their intentions for each other this season, with Mei wanting to establish herself against the 24/7 Battle Royal Winner.
James Peters: Roberto doesn’t want to get involved with Mei whatsoever, he wants to look for bigger and better things, I’m sure Mei must feel a little bit hurt by those comments. Regardless, Roberto is looking to make an example out of Bea Valentine tonight as Mei will watch on from ringside.
( Mei exits the ring as she takes a seat on a steel chair. Roberto would take off his custom designer suit to reveal his gear already on him. Roberto would pace back and forth as he prepares for his upcoming match with Bea Valentine. )
(Commercial for the upcoming Friday night Dynasty, where Limmy Monaghan and Bronson Daniels take on Myles and Xander Payne.)
( Sunday Night Voltage returns, and we can see Roberto De La Rosa leaning against his own corner, preparing for his upcoming match right after the previous segment while Mei Sasaki has joined the crowd, keeping a close eye on Roberto De La Rosa. Roberto glances back at Mei briefly before shifting his attention back to the stage as ‘Imma Be’ by the Black Eyed Peas begins playing through the PA system, eliciting a chorus of boos from the crowd while Bella Braxton standing in the middle of the ring. )
Bella Braxton: THE FOLLOWING CONTEST IS SCHEDULED FOR ONE FALL! ALREADY IN THE RING!… HE’S THE 24/7 CONTRACT HOLDER!… ROBERTO DE LA ROSA!
( As Bella introduces her to the crowd, Bea Valentine makes her way out, but to her dismay, she is met with a wave of boos and audible expressions of dislike from the audience. Bea remains unfazed, wearing a confident smile, fully aware that garnering such reactions is part of her intention. She proceeds to ignore the negativity from the crowd and marches straight down to the ring, undeterred by the jeers of these people, solely focused on her goal of winning the match tonight. )
Bella Braxton: AND HIS OPPONENT!… FROM BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS!… WEIGHING IN AT 143 POUNDS!… ‘QUEEN BEA’ !…. BEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!… VALENTINEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
James Peters: Here’s Roberto De La Rosa, who just had some exchanges of words with Mei Sasaki. Now standing in the ring and looking forward to the fight. And here’s Bea Valentine, one of the fastest-rising stars we have here on Voltage. After suffering a defeat at Pain For Pride in 24/7 Battle Royale, she lost her bounce but bounced back with renewed BEA-lief in herself and a promising future that she could grant for herself and our company!
Persephone: Why does she insist on using ‘BEA’ in front of everything instead of ‘BE’ or whatever nonsense she thinks sounds cute? Is she stuck in a kindergarten mindset or sum? If she thinks she’s being funny, I don’t think so.
Rich Russillo: I think it’s pretty cool though!
Persephone: Did I ask?
Rich Russillo: Oh I-
James Peters: :mjlol: I kind of like doing the ‘BEA’ puns thing too, not gonna lie.
Persephone: You two need to grow up.
James Peters: :wtf:
( DING DING DING! )
James Peters: You know what time it is? It’s time for the battle! Bea Valentine takes on the current holder of the 24/7 Contract, Roberto De La Rosa! We have two great talents here on Voltage about to collide at Amica Mutual Arena in Providence, Rhode Island! Roberto has been more determined than ever as an in-ring competitor since he acquired that contract, while Bea has redirected her focus toward her storied journey. She enters this season ch with new goals and plans, aiming to shape herself into a stronger competitor once again!
Rich Russillo: And let’s not forget that Mei Sasaki will be ringside for this match tonight. There’s a good chance that Roberto might be taking his first loss in his first season if anything goes wrong between these two. But that shouldn’t be an issue for Roberto, as he’s a very focused man who’s here to keep his eyes on his opponent, Bea Valentine. Bea comes and meets Roberto in the center of the ring and quickly tries to put him down immediately with a German Suplex, but Roberto counters, putting a stop to her effort with a back elbow to her face! Bea releases him, and Roberto seizes the opportunity, sending her flying toward the ropes. Bea rebounds off the ropes, and Roberto goes for a Big Boot!
James Peters: Bea ducks underneath and scrambles back to her feet, running towards the ropes in front of her, and rebounds back. Bea bounces back and goes for a discus lariat to take down Roberto! But Roberto saw it coming from miles away and blocks her arm. Bea backs away, holding her injured arm, and now Roberto winds up his fist, preparing to deliver a haymaker!
Rich Russillo: Bea delivers a kick to the arm that was coming for her, saving her face from being hit by a hard right fist just in time! Roberto now backs away, nursing his own arm, and Bea steps up, attempting to rock Roberto’s jaw with a Superkick, but he catches her leg with a free hand! Roberto pulls Bea in…. JUDO TAKEDOWN!…. DROPKICK WHILE SHE’S ON BOTH KNEES!
Persephone: Can we wrap this up faster? Gosh, if Rex is already here, I wouldn’t have to complain. Hate that stupid British jerk, Daryl.
James Peters: Bea now rolls all the way down to the corner with Roberto in hot pursuit. Bea manages to find her way back to her feet, but Roberto remains relentless, implementing his strategy as he starts using his right foot to press against her face, prompting the referee to intervene and reprimand him.
Referee: HEY! GET THAT OFF HER FACE!… ONE!.. TWO!… THREE!… FOUR!
James Peters: Roberto pulls his right foot off Bea’s face… CLOTHESLINES HER AT THE CORNER! A HARD CLOTHESLINE SENDING BEA TO BE SEATED THERE!
( Roberto leans towards the ropes and looks at Mei Sasaki, who is just sitting there and watching the match with a nonchalant look. Roberto looks at her with a disgusted facial expression, then shakes his head and backs away from the ropes. He picks Bea off the ground to continue the match, putting his focus back. )
Persephone: Bro… WRESTLE! YOU ARE NOT GOING TO FLIRT WITH HER HERE!
James Peters: Roberto appears somewhat concerned about Mei’s potential interference in the match, but he’s trying not to let Mei distract him. He stays focused on the task at hand, maintaining his momentum and striving for victory. Roberto pulls Bea out of the corner, positioning her in the middle of the ring. He places her arm over his neck, preparing to go for the Flatliner and send Bea’s face crashing down to the mat!
Rich Russillo: Bea gets lifted but she manages to escape from the hold, slipping out and landing on the side of Roberto! Bea quickly seizes the opportunity and sends him running toward the ropes. Roberto bounces off the ropes, and just as Bea goes for a Superkick… no she tricks him, Roberto blocks the air…. CONNECTS THE KICK TO ONE OF HIS KNEES INSTEAD! Roberto falls!…. SHINING WIZARD TAKES ROBERTO DOWN!
James Peters: Bea now makes a move against him; she’s not playing checkers around here because she’s playing chess! Bea rolls back to her feet and seizes Robert off the ground after dropping him down with a Shining Wizard. Bea wraps both arms around Robert, looking to send him flying over her head with a German Suplex this time!
Rich Russillo: Roberto escapes and sends her rolling down onto the ground again! Bea, getting a bit more frustrated, misses his attack and quickly turns back around. She aims for a Back Elbow at Roberto, but Bea ducks underneath, going under his legs and dropping him to the floor! With his shoulders down, Bea seizes the opportunity and goes for a roll-up!
ONEEEEEEEEEEE!
Persephone: HE KICKS OUT AT ONE! NO, I WANT THREE! NOT ONE! PLEASE!
James Peters: Both competitors pop back to their feet…. ROBERTO WITH A SMALL PACKAGE ROLL-UP THIS TIME!
ONEEEEEEEEEEE!
TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Rich Russillo: JUST IN TIME, BEA KICKS OUT!
Persephone: I hate my life. Now, what are these two going to do? Oh! They just collide with each other with a clothesline, and now both of them are down on the ground! Great, now I have to wait for this match to finish longer than ever because they are going to take their TIMEEEEEEEEE getting back to their feet.
James Peters: Both athletes take each other down with a clothesline, and Mei is still showing no sign of aiding Bea to ensure her victory in this match. Roberto and Bea roll down to their respective corners, and simultaneously, they start getting back to their feet after the collision at the middle of the ring.
Rich Russillo: Bea charges out of the corner as soon as she regains her footing, sprinting towards Roberto with the intent to strike him. However, Roberto quickly reacts by leaping over the ropes, landing both feet on the apron! Bea, unable to stop her momentum, crashes into the corner and stumbles out of it!
James Peters: Roberto seizes the opportunity and swiftly climbs to the top turnbuckle, causing the crowd to rise from their seats in anticipation of what is about to unfold. Roberto is going for it!…. DIVING MOONSAULT! DOWN GOES BEA VALENTINE!…. ROBERTO RETURNS TO HIS FEET AND ANOTHER ONE! SPRINGBOARD MOONSAULT CONNECTS! COVER ON BEA!
ONEEEEEEEEEEE!
TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Persephone: AND SHE STILL KICKS OUT, YAY!
James Peters: Bea has demonstrated throughout this competition that she won’t back down from any challenge. She has managed to evade being counted out for quite some time now, but Roberto is still aiming to secure the victory in this match. He remains focused on defeating Bea and proving his worth while Mei keeps a watchful eye on Roberto from the ringside who is watching this competition at the moment.
Rich Russillo: Roberto manages to scramble back to his feet, while Bea may still be rolling on the ground for a moment. Roberto turns his attention back to Bea, preparing to bring her back into the ring. However, Bea is already on the apron but Roberto disregards her position and heads outside the ring to retrieve Bea and bring her back into the ring… BEA GRABS ROBERTO AND SUDDENLY SPRINGS THE ROPE INTO HIS NECK!
Persephone: IDIOT! Now that little brat heads back inside the ring… SLINGBLADE! SHE JUST TAKES HIM DOWN WITH A SLINGBLADE! WOO!
James Peters: Bea now regains the upper hand, seizing control of the match. She takes down Roberto with a Slingblade, asserting her dominance. With her eyes locked on Roberto, Bea wastes no time in continuing her offensive. She maneuvers behind Roberto, lifting him up, and repeatedly drives her right elbow into the side of his neck, delivering a series of impactful strikes!
Rich Russillo: Bea drops Roberto, leaving him in a seated position. She swiftly rises to her feet and launches herself forward, aiming a Superkick at the side of his head. Bea grabs hold of Roberto, keeping him locked in. She now ascends the second rope, ensuring her balance as she prepares to launch herself off the ropes for her next move… TORNADO DDT SPIKES! ROBERTO IS DROPPED! BEA HOOKS THE LEG FOR A COVER!
ONEEEEEEEEEEE!
TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Persephone: HE KICKS OUT AGAIN! AH THIS SUC- WAIT NO! BEA WITH HER SUBMISSION HOLD RIGHT AFTER HE KICKED OUT! YES, PLEASE END THIS MATCH SOONER!
James Peters: ‘BEA-TRAPPED’ ! CODE OF SILENCE SUBMISSION HOLD! ROBERTO IS IN A SERIOUS TROUBLE! BEA IS GOING TO CHOKE HIM OUT, BUT ROBERTO ISN’T GOING TO GIVE UP EITHER WAY!
Rich Russillo: Bea has him right in her grasp, and the crowd is getting much more excited for this one! Will Roberto tap out, or will he remain a survivor of this submission hold? Bea puts even more pressure into the move and doesn’t seem to stop pushing for a victory against Roberto De La Ros! Bea might be able to pick up her first win of this season right here if Roberto taps out or fades out!
James Peters: That’s not good! Roberto’s eyes slowly shutting down! He might be out soon! Bea is actually going to choke him out, and he’s going to lose! Bea might actually do it, Rich! She might be winning and becoming the 24/7 Contract holder right there!
Persephone: YES! TAP! HE TAPS OUT! BEA WINS! WOOOOOOOOO!
Rich Russillo: NO! ROBERTO STOPS HIMSELF FROM DOING IT AND NOW TRYING TO CRAWL DOWN TO THE ROPES!
Persephone: NO, TAP OUT! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!?!?
James Peters: ROBERTO IS MAKING HIS WAY DOWN TO THE ROPES WITH BEA STILL LOCKED UP BY HIS NECK! BEA STARTS STRETCHING HER LEGS AND SQUEEZING ROBERTO’S NECK HARDER THAN EVER! LOOK, ROBERTO IS STRUGGLING AGAINST BEA’S RELENTLESS EFFORT! IT MIGHT ACTUALLY LEAD TO A WIN FOR HER! BEA MIGHT ACTUALLY DO IT! ROBERTO IS FADING! BEA IS ABOUT TO WIN THIS MATCH WITH ‘BEA-TRAPPED’ ! ROBERTO!….
Rich Russillo: HE TAPS- NO HE THROWS HIS HAND ON THE BOTTOM ROPE AT THE LAST SECOND! THAT’S A ROPE BREAK! ROBERTO SURVIVES!
Persephone: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
James Peters: Roberto managed to hang on and escape the submission hold that Bea was trying to apply, leaving her frustrated but not letting it get to her. Bea quickly gets back on her feet and positions herself in the center of the ring, looking down at Roberto and waiting for him to rise. Roberto clutches his neck but starts making his way back up…
Rich Russillo: ‘BIRDS AND THE BEA’ KINSHASA SHUTS ROBERTO DOWN!
James Peters: ‘TALON DE ÁGUILA’ !!!!!! A MASSIVE SPEAR CUTS BEA IN HALF! BEA IS OUT AND ROBERTO PROCEEDS WITH A COVER! THIS IS IT!
ONEEEEEEEEEEE!
TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
THREEEEEEEEE!
Persephone: DING DING DING! YOUR WINNER OF THIS MATCH!…. ROBERTO DE LA ROSA!
James Peters: NO BEA KICKS OUT! SHE KICKS OUT! SHE KICKS OUT AT THE LAST SECOND! THE MATCH CONTINUES!
Persephone: WHAT?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! WHY?!
Rich Russillo: That was indeed a remarkable display of strength by Bea, managing to resist the separation and kicking out just before it could be too late for her! Bea is proving that she is here in this match with one goal: to win. No matter what Roberto may think, she refuses to BEAlieve that he can defeat her and come out as the victor! Roberto begins to rise to his feet while Bea is still down from the spear, but he quickly grabs her in a Piledriver position! Roberto is about to execute his devastating move on her… Oh, wait.
( Roberto is poised to lift Bea off the ground, but just as he’s about to start executing the move, Bea drops to both knees, feigning weakness, which catches Roberto off guard. He looks back at Mei, but she remains motionless, just sitting there and watching the events unfold. Undeterred, Roberto grabs Bea by her hair while maintaining eye contact with Mei. )
Roberto De La Rosa: (Off-Mic) You can take this little punk as an example, this is what going to happen to you soon.
Rich Russillo: ROBERTO SETS IT UP!… ‘THE CALLING CARD’ PILEDRIVER!
James Peters: NO BEA TRIPS ROBERTO!… JACK KNIFE ROLL-UP BY BEA! SHE’S GOING TO STEAL IT!
ONEEEEEEEEEEE!
TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
THREEEEEEEE-
Rich Russillo: KICK OUT BY ROBERTO! Roberto backs to his feet and tries for another Spea- DISCUS LARIAT CONNECTS BY BEA, TURNING HIM INSIDE OUT!
James Peters: Bea isn’t done yet, and she retaliates by pulling Roberto back to his feet after the huge discus lariat. She lifts him off the ground and goes for her next move!… ‘BEA-MY-VALENTINE’ UNPRETTIER!
Persephone: IS THAT HER FINISHER?! YES!
Rich Russillo: NO! ROBERTO PULLS HIS ARMS OUT AND ESCAPES!…. A SAITO SUPLEX DROPS BEA TO THE GROUND! Bea on both knees… TWO-HANDED CHOPS BY ROBERTO TO HER THROAT!… A LIFTED ROLLING CUTTER! ROBERTO WTIH ‘EL PEGUE DE MEZCAL’ ON BEA!
James Peters: BEA WIGGLES OUT AND SLIPS DOWN TO THE GROUND, USING BOTH FEET TO HOOK ROBERTO BY HIS NECK AND SENDING HIM ROLLING ONTO THE MAT! ROBERTO QUICKLY ROLLS BACK UP… SUPERKICK BY BEA!… GERMAN SUPLEX FOLLOWS IT UP! BEA HANGS ON TO IT WITH A COVER!
Persephone: GO GO! COUNT TO THREE! END THIS ALREADY!
ONEEEEEEEEEEE!
TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
THREEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Rich Russillo: ROBERTO KICKS OUT AGAIN! BEA HAS A HIGH POSSIBILITY OF WINNING THIS MATCH HERE TONIGHT! IF SHE CAN SECURE THE VICTORY, IT WILL BE HER FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON! BEA IMMEDIATELY RUNS TOWARDS THE ROPES, BOUNCING OFF AND CATCHING ROBERTO JUST AS HE GETS BACK UP TO HIS FEET!….
Persephone: YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!
James Peters: ‘BEA-STING’ JUMPING MUSHROOM STOM-
Rich Russillo: DROPKICK IN MID-RUN! SHE FAILS TO CONNECT!
Persephone: OKAY BUT COME ON! DO SOMETHING!
James Peters: Bea is taken down by Roberto, and as Roberto stumbles back towards the ropes while trying to regain his footing, he heads back to where Bea is positioned. He lifts her off the ground, attempting to set up something new. Roberto is looking for another attempt at a Piledriver, but Bea is determined not to give up on this contest! She keeps fighting, finding her way out of Roberto’s grasp no matter what he tries to do!
Persephone: Roberto now repeatedly uses his forearm to club the back of Bea Valentine, causing her to fall down and her energy to slowly fade away. It appears that Bea might be nearing the end here! It’s all over! Yes, I mean the match! I don’t really care who wins at this point; let’s just move on from this match, for crying out loud!
Rich Russillo: Roberto lifts her off the ground again- WAIT A SECOND!!! MEI SASAKI IS ON THE APRON AND ROBERTO JUST NOTICED!!!
James Peters: ROBERTO TRIES TO TAKE MEI OFF THE APRON BUT MEI JUMPS OFF BEFORE ROBERTO COULD STRIKE!
Rich Russillo: Roberto is yelling at Mei, and rightfully so! What was she think-
James Peters: WAIT A SECOND, BEA WITH A ROLL UP!!!! BEA JUST PULLED ROBERTO INTO A ROLL UP!!!!!
ONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
THREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
( DING DING DING! )
Bella Braxton: HERE IS YOUR WINNER!… BEA VALENTINE!
James Peters: BEA DOES IT! SHE PICKS UP A WIN OVER THE 24/7 CONTRACT HOLDER! HER FIRST WIN OF THIS SEASON IS DEFEATING THE CURRENT 24/7 CONTRACT HOLDER!
Persephone: WOO! THE MATCH IS OVER! WE CAN FINALLY GO WATCH SOMETHING ELSE! WHERE’S REX? I NEED HIM RIGHT NOW!
Rich Russillo: That’s un-BEA-liveable! What a win by Bea Valentine!
Persephone: Stop.
( ‘Imma Be’ by the Black Eyed Peas starts playing as Bea Valentine raises her arms and exits the ring with a huge smile on her face. The referee follows her and raises her hand, declaring her the winner of the competition. Bea holds her hand high, displaying her victory, before heading back toward the backstage area.)
Bea Valentine: (off-mic) :blessed: I DID IT!!! I WON!!! I’M A WINNER!!!
James Peters: Bea with a tremendous victory against Roberto De La Rosa tonight! Not only that, but it was a fantastic match that both competitors brought to the show tonight. What really surprised me though was what caused the ending. Mei Sasaki with the distraction, screwing Roberto over!
Rich Russillo: Yeah, and from the looks of it, he’s not happy.
(Bea continues celebrating and screaming as she leaves. Meanwhile, Roberto stands in the ring, furious over what just happened. The camera cuts to Mei Sasaki, who chuckles at Roberto for a moment before beginning to speak.)
Mei Sasaki: (off-mic) Don’t ever treat me like I’m not worth your time.
(Roberto and Mei have a staredown, and Roberto just shakes his head in disbelief before storming out of the ring. As the 24/7 Contract Holder takes his leave, Voltage fades away from ringside.)
(Voltage fades away from the ring and cuts to the backstage area. Eden Sinclair is seen sitting behind her desk with a pile of paperwork stacked in front of her. However, instead of working, she looks to be ill. A trash can is sitting beside her and considering her condition, it’s likely due to morning sickness. Contrary to popular belief, morning sickness can strike at any given time and it appears as if that is what Eden is suffering through right now. That’s interesting, all things considered, because she all but made it clear she was not going to keep the fetus that was growing inside of her. As another wave of nausea hit, the door of her office opened. Eden grabs the trash can and begins to vomit as Sierra Everett walks in. The blonde has an arrogant smile on her face as she watches Eden suffer.)
Sierra Everett: I thought you were getting rid of the little demon you had growing inside of you.
(Eden looks up from the trash can and wipes her mouth with the back of her hand. She somehow finds the energy to glare at Sierra, who takes a seat in one of the chairs in front of Eden’s desk.)
Eden Sinclair: I’m pretty good at keeping up with my calendar and I don’t recall seeing a meeting with you scheduled.
Sierra Everett: I’m a Pain for Pride winner. I don’t need to schedule meetings with anyone. I can do what I want.
Eden Sinclair: Ahhh yes. I suppose you have come to gloat.
(Sierra simply shrugs.)
Sierra Everett: I mean, can you blame me? You made it a point to single me out of the #DisneyBesties and label me as the weak link. You made sure Candice knew that I couldn’t hold my own and let’s be real honest with one another. You haven’t really liked me since day one. I know you questioned Candice on what she saw in me, which was clearly a capable wrestler regardless of how I got my start in this business. But that wasn’t enough for you, was it?
(Eden grabs her bottle of water and chugs it, wanting to wash the vomit taste out of her mouth. After doing that, she leans back in her chair and folds her arms across her chest.)
Eden Sinclair: First of all, can you blame me for questioning your abilities? You were signed to this promotion with what? Seven total matches under your belt? You came in with the biggest ego I have ever been around, not to mention a disgusting amount of entitlement, and what did you do to back it up? Absolutely nothing, that’s what. You constantly wasted this company’s time by failing to deliver inside the ring, and when I was busting my ass to make sure EAW and Disney had the perfect partnership, you were fucking off and doing nothing to better yourself. Candice Blair was the perfect ambassador for EAW/Disney, but that stupid idiot is also a bleeding heart. She took pity on you and brought you along for the ride. Doesn’t make sense to me, but whatever. What’s done is done and none of us can go back.
Sierra Everett: You’re right, we can’t. Candice and Halsey are on Showdown, and your boo is off skirt chasing Andre Walker.
(Eden rolls her eyes.)
Sierra Everett: And of course, yours truly finds herself once again in the land of Elite. Considering I just won my first match at Pain for Pride, my stock is pretty high. I know you had nothing to do with me being drafted, but Captain Charisma certainly did. He must see something in me as well, and I have no doubt that multiple opportunities are going to come my way this season.
(The smug look of satisfaction that is on Sierra’s face definitely eats away at Eden. She glares at the other woman and motions towards the door.)
Eden Sinclair: You can leave now. You’ve made your point.
(Sierra shakes her head. She kicks her feet up on Eden’s desk, getting nice and comfortable.)
Sierra Everett: No, I don’t think I have. The point is when you came back from Disneyland, you went above and beyond to make my life and the lives of my best friends a living Hell. You did what you could to split us up, not to mention, you were stupid enough to invest in Ronan, which has done nothing but saddle you with a baby you don’t even want. You made sure that everyone looked at me as the weakest link, and when it all came to a head at Pain for Pride, you had to watch as I pinned your baby daddy, and got the biggest win of my career so far. I’m sure there’s a few things more satisfying than a Pain for Pride win, but at this stage of my career, it feels pretty fucking good to have something like that on my resume. No one will ever be able to take that from me, not even you, and I want to make sure you know that.
(Eden goes to speak, but Sierra holds up her hand.)
Sierra Everett: I’m not done. I have no doubt that you are one spiteful cunt, which is why it wouldn’t surprise me to see you go above and beyond to sabotage me this season. After all, you flat-out told Ronan you wanted to kill his unborn child and if you’re willing to do that to someone you claim to care about, I can only imagine what kind of hell you want to put me through for getting the last laugh at your expense.
(An actual smile touches Eden’s lips because Sierra’s not that far off in assuming Eden would have it out for her.)
Sierra Everett: But I am going to tell you right now that doing anything to try and halt my progress as an Elitist would be one of the worst mistakes you could ever make. I am a star on the rise and everyone knows it, and I will be damned if you and your pettiness holds me back in any way. I know that I’m worth my weight in gold and that’s the plan, Eden. I want championship gold this season. I want to cement myself as the star attraction. I have millions of followers and people just dying to see me become the face of this company. And when I want something, I get it, and NO ONE will get in my way.
Eden Sinclair: Is that so?
(Sierra drops her feet and sits up, staring Eden right in her eyes. There is clear tension between the two women.)
Sierra Everett: It is. So I’m going to warn you now, stay out of my business. Don’t make the mistake of getting involved. I don’t know what you’re going to do about your pregnancy, but if you wanna keep that creature then maybe focus on nurturing it and being a mother to it since its father has other things to worry about. Do I make myself clear?
(Eden raises a perfectly arched eyebrow.)
Eden Sinclair: Are you threatening me, Sierra?
(Sierra gets to her feet, making it a point to look down at Eden.)
Sierra Everett: You are more than welcome to take my words however you wish, Eden. All I know is that I have momentum on my side and absolutely everything to gain. I may not have had the best rookie season, but I’m going to make sure that the star that is Sierra Everett shines bright in Season 17. I plan to capitalize off my win at Pain for Pride and get myself into the championship picture. It would serve you well to respect that.
(Arrogance oozes from Sierra as she flashes Eden a smirk. Eden narrows her eyes, but another wave of nausea hits her. This causes Sierra to giggle as Eden grabs for the trash can and starts to vomit again.)
Sierra Everett: Imagine being so stupid you let Ronan Malosi knock you up :mjlol:. Could NEVER be me!
(After getting the last personal jab in, Sierra practically skips out of Eden’s office.)
(Meanwhile, Sunday Night Voltage’s Disney representative lets out a long, suffering sigh as she flops back in her chair. Eden’s pale face is flushed but not from morning sickness. It’s actual anger that is coursing through her right now. After thinking for a moment, she grabs her cellphone, flips through the contacts, and makes a call.)
???: (speaker-phone) Hello?
(Eden smirks as she hears the voice of her friend and mentor, Tyrone Montgomery.)
Eden Sinclair: Tyrone. I know you have your hands full, but I need a favor.
Tyrone Montgomery: (speaker-phone) Alright. If I can help you, you know I will.
Eden Sinclair: I was hoping you’d say that.
(After making sure her door was closed, Eden switches off the speaker phone and puts her cell to her ear. The rest of the conversation isn’t heard as the scene fades out.)
(Commercial promoting the new Fortnite season with Jake Smith, who encourages his fans to spend all of their money on VBucks just like him.)
(The camera returns to the ring where Bella Braxton has a microphone as she is ready to start the introductions for the next match.)
Bella Braxton: Ladies and gentlemen, this next contest is scheduled for ONE FALL!
Crowd: ONE FALL!
(‘Sweet Dreams’ by Eurythmics, Annie Lennox & Dave Stewart starts playing as Harper Lee enters the arena. Following closely behind is her tag team partner and fellow champion Holly Arrow as they head to the ring.)
Bella Braxton: Introducing first! Being accompanied to the ring by Holly Arrow and representing POTARA! From Charlotte, North Carolina! Weighing in at 118 pounds! Here is one half of the EAW UNIFIED TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS! “CAPTAIN” HARPER LEE!
James Peters: Here comes the Unified Tag Team Champions as Harper Lee is ready for singles action here tonight as Harper is looking to put POTARA on the right foot
Persephone: Yay. Birdbrain Harper Lee and Bat-Bimbo are here. Aren’t we just lucky? Can’t we have Rex instead?
Rich Russillo: POTARA have got to be feeling good after winning that four way match at Pain for Pride and they are looking to take their luck and success into Season 17 with what they call #POTARASWEEP! We’ll see if Harper Lee can keep it going tonight.
(Harper enters the ring and holds her title in the air as Holly takes her place at ringside before her music fades off. After a brief moment of silence, “Soundtrack 2 My Life” by Kid Cudi starts playing as the crowd goes absolutely crazy for Alex Myers who just entered the arena and heads to the ring. )
Bella Braxton: Introducing her opponent! They are from Auckland, New Zealand! Weighing in at 180 pounds! Here is “THE GUARDIAN ANGEL” ALEX MYERS!
Rich Russillo: Welcome back to Voltage, Alex Myers. This young competitor has only gotten better since they were last an official member of the Voltage roster! They are back and they are here to make a big name for themself.
Persephone: Oh great. We have a birdbrain and a kiwi competing in this match. Sounds like a tropical disaster if you ask me.
James Peters: I love your fresh outlook on these matches. But Alex Myers had an amazing performance in the Cash in the Vault ladder match at Pain for Pride, but tonight they are looking to get their season started right with a victory over one half of the Tag Team Champions. Who will leave victorious? We are about to find out!
(Alex enters the ring as the crowd continues to cheer this popular competitor. Alex takes their corner as their entrance music fades off. The referee checks both competitors before calling for the bell.)
(DING! DING! DING!)
James Peters: Here we go! Harper and Alex one on one and they go to lock up in the center of the ring. It’s Alex who gets the early advantage with a side headlock on Harper who is trying to get free.
Persephone: Harper might be the only person on the roster who Alex can overpower because she is very small… unless we’re counting the action figures on the merchandise stand. :mjlol:
Rich Russillo: I guess we’re getting started early with the insults in this match, aren’t we? But I can agree that this is one occasion where Alex does have a power advantage over their opponent… not that they can’t overpower anybody they face.
Persephone: First, they can’t. End of story. Second, it’s never too early to get started with insults. Especially since I would much rather get my Sexy Rexy Celebration started now.
Rich Russillo: Unfortunately for you, you are going to have to wait until later for your party. But Harper just STEPS ON ALEX’S FOOT TO GET FREE FROM THE HEADLOCK AND THEY HAVE LOCKED EYES ONCE AGAIN IN THE CENTER OF THE RING!
James Peters: Harper tries to fire off a right hand but ALEX COUNTERS WITH A KICK SO HARPER STRIKES THEIR LEG! I DON’T THINK I HAVE SEEN A COUNTER LIKE THAT BEFORE!
Rich Russillo: Innovative offense by Alex Myers. You never know what they are going to do next. But Harper is holding her wrist in pain as Alex hits the ropes AND TAKES HARPER DOWN WITH A LARIAT TO THE THROAT!
Persephone: That was a great move right there. They probably learned it for my Rexy! Everybody should learn how to improve their arsenal from Rexy. He’s the best.
James Peters: He is a technical marvel that’s true, but not everything in this company is thanks to Rex… with no disrespect to Rex of course.
Persephone: I hope he hears that and smacks the crap out of you for saying that. Rexy is love and Rexy is life. Right now, Alex is putting the boots to that birdbrain Harper Lee and she rolls out to the apron for some reason. Get back in there and fight!
Rich Russillo: She just wanted to get a breather. Will you stop that? Harper is now standing on the apron AND ALEX GOES FOR A SHOULDER TACKLE THROUGH THE ROPES, BUT HARPER STEPS OUT OF THE WAY!
Persephone: Kiwi about stumbles out of the ring like that, but that leads to Harper JUST KICKING ALEX IN THE FACE OVER AND OVER! Now the referee is starting a count! Just go away referee so this match could end faster.
Rich Russillo: Harper does stop the kicks and that leads to Alex just falling through the ropes and down to the floor. Alex kept their balance using the ring skirt AS HARPER JUMPS FROM THE APRON AND PLANTS ALEX ON THE FLOOR WITH A DIVING DDT FROM THE APRON!
James Peters: Alex spiked on their head after that DDT and Harper is firmly in control now of this match. Harper brings Alex back to their feet AND PICKS THEM UP BEFORE DROPPING THEM ON THE FLOOR AGAIN WITH A SLAM!
Rich Russillo: Harper doesn’t waste a second as she brings Alex back to their feet and rolls them back into the ring. Alex is on their feet as Harper comes from behind AND SHE DROPS ALEX WITH AN EXPLODER SUPLEX! ALEX LANDS HARD ON THEIR BACK AND NECK AGAIN AS HARPER GOES FOR THE COVER!
ONNNNNNNNNNEEEEEE!
TWWWWWWWOOOOOO!
TH-
Persephone: And Alex kicks out at two! Big shocker there that this match continues and I have to suffer through this misery some more. What a great day!
James Peters: You do this with every match that doesn’t have Rex involved in it. But Harper mounts Alex and JUST STARTS POUNDING THE TAR OUT OF THEM AS THE REFEREE ADMONISHES HARPER TO OPEN THE FISTS!
Persephone: What’s your point? Rex is the best wrestler NOW and FOREVER! Everybody wishes they could be like my Rexy McAllister, but they can’t. Oh and I guess Harper has stopped punching Alex in the head… crud!
Rich Russillo: As Harper gets back to her feet, we can see Holly at ringside cheering her partner on. She’s no doubt pleased that Harper is in control of the match. So she keeps on the attack by bringing Alex back up and whips them to the ropes.
Persephone: Of course Alex finds a way to counter and sends Harper to the ropes. Here we go with more counters. Makes these matches so amazing and awesome to watch.
Rich Russillo: Harper comes back from the whip and Alex grabs Harper AND HARPER LOOKS TO COUNTER WITH A HEADSCISSORS, BUT ALEX MANAGES TO HOLD ON TIGHT AND COUNTER WITH A SIDEWALK SLAM!
James Peters: That was a nice counter by Alex that drives Harper back into the mat as Alex pulls Harper onto her knees AND JUST STARTS FIRING OFF THOSE “YES” STYLE KICKS INTO HER CHEST AND RIBS!
Rich Russillo: LISTEN TO THE CROWD CHANT YES EVERY TIME ALEX FIRES OFF A KICK! THEY ABSOLUTELY LOVE ALEX MYERS EVERYWHERE THEY COMPETE AND THEY ARE STILL FIRING OFF THOSE KICKS TO HARPER!
Persephone: Keep kicking her in the chest, Alex. It might benefit her social life if she swells up there with all those kicks. Then again, she’s annoying so maybe not.
James Peters: You certainly are the expert when it comes to getting things to swell in order to improve your social life.
Persephone: If you want to make it to the end of the night, I suggest you not go any further with that conversation. How rude and disrespectful can one person be? Geez.
Rich Russillo: As much as I would love to keep this conversation going, Alex is still kicking Harper, BUT HARPER AVOIDS THE LAST KICK AND TRIES TO ROLL ALEX UP, BUT ALEX ROLLS THROUGH AND GETS BACK TO THEIR FEET!
Persephone: Alex goes for a clothesline, but Harper bends back and avoids the clothesline with that Matrix Evasion move she does. I think she calls it Ultra Instinct or something. I don’t understand why she calls it by that name anyway.
Rich Russillo: Of course you wouldn’t, but it isn’t worth explaining anyway so let’s get on with the match. Harper bends back up and hits the ropes on the opposite side of Alex who hits the ropes as well.
James Peters: Both competitors come back from the ropes AND HARPER LEE WITH A SLINGBLADE THAT BEATS ALEX TO THE PUNCH AND TAKES THEM DOWN TO THE MAT! NICE SHOT BY HARPER LEE!
Rich Russillo: Alex lands hard as Harper grabs Alex and pulls them back to their feet. Now Harper has hold of Alex by the head and SHE RUNS FULL SPEED TO THE CORNER AND DELIVERS A BULLDOG TO THE MIDDLE TURNBUCKLE!!
Persephone: Wasn’t Alex like a risk taking daredevil in the past? So that probably means they have a screw loose anyway so it probably doesn’t hurt as bad. No harm no foul.
James Peters: Oh will you stop that!? Alex is stumbling backwards out of the corner as Harper wraps her arms around Alex’s waist and LIFTS THEM UP FOR A GERMAN SUPLEX AND DROPS THEM RIGHT ON THE BACK OF THEIR HEAD!
Persephone: Now how in the world could Harper Lee… HARPER LEE of all people who weighs 100 pounds with sand and bricks in her pocket lift Alex Myers? DRUG TESTING NEEDED PLEASE? Either way, she bridges up for a cover.
ONNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEE!
TWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOO!
THHHHHHHHRRRR—
Rich Russillo: ALEX ROLLS THROUGH AT TWO! To answer your question, Persephone, power can be tapped into any point. The Elitists of EAW are athletes like no other. They are the epitome of skill in this business.
Persephone: Yeah that’s it. Nice scapegoat answer, Rich. But as we get back to this heart stopping match… due to boredom by the way… Harper drags Alex back to his feet AND STARTS THROWING KICKS INTO THE MIDSECTION THAT DOUBLES ALEX OVER!
Rich Russillo: Those kicks are sending Alex back into the ropes AND HARPER FIRES A KICK TO ALEX’S FACE THAT HAS THEM LEANING AGAINST THE ROPE WHILE ALSO TRYING TO SHAKE THE COBWEBS!
James Peters: Harper has Alex in prime position as she backs up to the opposite side of the ropes BEFORE SHE RUNS FULL SPEED BACK TO ALEX AND JUMPS THROUGH THE ROPES AND GRABS ALEX’S NECK FOR A FLATLINER–
Rich Russillo: ALEX HOLDS ONTO HARPER AND WALKS HER AWAY FROM THE ROPES! ALEX WALKS HARPER TO THE CENTER OF THE RING AND GRABS HER WAIST BEFORE THEY PLANT HER WITH THE BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX! INNOVATIVE COUNTER BY ALEX MYERS!
Persephone: Yeah…. Innovative…. They are certainly like a Rembrandt or Einstein or something in the ring. They might be creative, but they are boring as heck. I mean can’t Rexy just come out and stand in front of me for the rest of the show? He is a work of art that I can admire all night long.
James Peters: No, Persephone. Just… no. I am going to get back to the match and completely ignore everything you just said right there. Alex is on their feet at the moment as they look to cause as much damage as they can to put Harper away.
Persephone: The person that has experienced the most pain in this match is me because this match isn’t over, Rexy isn’t on commentary anymore, Rexy isn’t here to begin with, and this match isn’t over. But Alex once again pulls Harper to her feet.
Rich Russillo: Once again, you are being overly dramatic about this match as Alex whips Harper into the corner and Alex quickly follows AND CLOBBERS HARPER IN THE CORNER WITH THAT SHOTGUN DROPKICK! WHAT A SHOT!
Persephone: Alright. I’ll give Alex a little bit of credit… and I mean VERY LITTLE credit. It’s always fun to see Harper get kicked or punched in the face… WAIT A SECOND! I WAS NOT BEING DRAMATIC! I WAS JUST TELLING THE TRUTH!
Rich Russillo: That was a delayed reaction, but be that as it may, Harper tries to fall into the corner and Alex is right there to stop her. Instead, they lift up Harper and sit her on the top turnbuckle. This is going to be dangerous right here.
James Peters: Alex finds their way up to the second rope as they grab Harper’s head, BUT HARPER IS FIGHTING ALEX OFF! THOSE RIGHT HANDS TO THE SIDE ARE SLOWING DOWN ALEX’S ATTACK!
Rich Russillo: HARPER GETS A RIGHT HAND TO ALEX’S SKULL AND THEY ARE LOSING THEIR BALANCE! ALEX IS TEETERING RIGHT NOW AND IS ABOUT TO FALL OFF THE TURNBUCKLE, BUT THEY GRAB THE ROPES AT THE LAST SECOND AND COUNTER WITH A HEADBUTT TO HARPER LEE!
Persephone: Another shot to the head of Harper Lee and that is the equivalent of headbutting an empty jug or something like that. But Alex does get another facelock on Harper and they are now standing on the top rope this time!
James Peters: Alex pulls Harper up and now she’s standing on the top turnbuckle AND ALEX BRINGS THEM BOTH DOWN TO THE MAT WITH THAT SUPERPLEX FROM THE TOP ROPE! BOTH COMPETITORS ARE DOWN AT THE MOMENT!
Persephone: Maybe you should get some glasses or contacts or something because you are blind. Alex kept the suplex held as they flip backwards and once again bring Harper Lee to her feet. Here we go again.
Rich Russillo: ALEX LIFTS HARPER LEE UP ONCE AGAIN FOR ANOTHER SUPLEX, BUT INSTEAD THEY FLIP HER AROUND AND DROP HER WITH A FALCON ARROW! HARPER LEE DROPPED HARD ON HER BACK AND NECK AS ALEX GRABS HARPER’S LEG FOR THE COVER!
ONNNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEE!
TWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOO!
THHHHHHRRRRRRRREEEEEE!
Persephone: OH MY GOSH! IN THE BIGGEST SHOCKER OF THE EVENING! HARPER LEE MANAGES TO KICK OUT AT TWO! THIS IS THE MOST EXCITING MATCH EVER!! WHO IS WITH ME?
Rich Russillo: Sarcasm is not becoming of you, Persephone. But you gotta give it up to both Alex and Harper for giving their all for their first match of the season. The camera didn’t catch it, but Holly let out a breath of relief that her partner Harper is still in this match.
James Peters: Alex falls back for a moment with part frustration and part exhaustion. Alex was looking for the win right there, but they knew that it was going to take a lot to finish a former World Champion like Harper Lee off.
Rich Russillo: Harper has to have in her mind that Alex is one tough competitor that will bring an opponent to their limits in order to win the match. They give as good as they get. Both competitors are running on reserve energy right now.
Persephone: They are both down, ref. Come on and count them both out. One… two… ten…. YAY! Match is over! RING THE BELL!!
James Peters: Persephone, Alex has made it back to their feet and this match will continue on.
Persephone: OH COME ON!! Is this the part where we talk about dedication and work ethic and all that blah blah blah stuff?
Rich Russillo: Yes, Persephone. Because both of these Elitists are as tough as they come.
Persephone: But not as tough as my one and only Rexy.
Rich Russillo: Of course not, but Alex is the first one back to their feet and they go right to Harper to get her back to her feet.
James Peters: Alex whips Harper into the turnbuckle one more time and ALEX FOLLOWS LOOKING FOR A CLOTHESLINE THAT HARPER AVOIDS AND ALEX GOES CHEST FIRST INTO THE CORNER!
Rich Russillo: Harper kicks Alex in the gut and doubles them over before Harper sits on Alex’s back and wraps her legs around their waist. HARPER USES ALL HER POWER AND FLIPS FORWARD AS ALEX GETS DROPPED WITH THE RUMBLING! SUNSET FLIP BOMB BY HARPER LEE AS ALEX IS STACKED UP FOR THE COVER!
ONNNNNNNNNNNEEEE!
TWWWWWWWWOOOOO!
THHHHHRRRRRREEEEEE!
Persephone: OF COURSE ALEX KICKS OUT AGAIN! THEY ARE DRAGGING THIS “AMAZING” MATCH OUT AS LONG AS THEY CAN!! But Harper is back to her feet once again.
Rich Russillo: Harper is watching Alex slowly get back to their feet as Harper has her fist ready to strike. HARPER GOES FOR THE DRAGON FIST IN THIS SPOT! THAT RIGHT HOOK OF HERS HAS KNOCKED PLENTY OF PEOPLE OUT AND WILL ALEX BE NEXT AS THEY GET BACK TO THEIR FEET AND HARPER FIRES OFF THE DRAGON FIST PUNCH!
James Peters: ALEX MANAGES TO AVOID THE DRAGON FIST PUNCH! ALEX ROLLS BEHIND HARPER TO GET SOME ROOM FROM HER! HARPER TURNS AROUND AND SHE IS MET WITH SUPERKICK FROM ALEX MYERS! SHE WALKED RIGHT INTO IT!
Rich Russillo: ALEX KICKED HARPER RIGHT IN THE JAW! RIGHT ON THE MONEY AS HARPER FALLS LIKE STONE! HARPER ISN’T MOVING AS ALEX DRAGS HER OVER TO THE CORNER ONE MORE TIME!
Persephone: We need a kick jar or something so these people can put in a dollar or twenty everytime they fire off a kick that DOESN’T finish the match. This is ridiculous!
James Peters: Persephone with her commentary of positivity as Alex is going to climb up to the top rope once again. Alex always feels so comfortable up there on that, but they need to hurry because Harper has rolled onto her stomach and is getting back to her feet!
Persephone: For the love of GAWD! Stop sugarcoating your moves and get the job done. JUST FLY ALREADY, KIWI!
Rich Russillo: ALEX COMES OFF THE TOP ROPE AND THEY DRIVE THEIR KNEES RIGHT INTO THE BACK OF HARPER’S SKULL! THAT WAS DOCTOR SLEEP BY ALEX MYERS AND HARPER GETS UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL WITH THE CANVAS AGAIN!
Persephone: Good for Alex! They drove knees into Harper’s skull. That’s the safest part of her body if you ask me. But it did take her down and possibly out. Now Alex rolls birdbrain over and goes for the cover. About time!
ONNNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEE!
TWWWWWWWWWWOOOOO!
THHHHHHHRRREEEEEEEEE!
Rich Russillo: SHE GOT THE SHOULDER UP! HARPER BARELY GOT THE SHOULDER UP AS THE REFEREE WAS GOING FOR THE THREE COUNT! HELL, WE ALL THOUGHT THAT ALEX HAD THE MATCH WON THERE! This has been an amazing match right here!
James Peters: Harper is still not moving right now as Alex drags Harper over to the corner and Alex is looking to fly one more time and THEY ARE CLIMBING UP THE CORNER ONE MORE TIME! ALEX COULD BE LOOKING TO FINISH EVERYTHING HERE AND NOW!
Rich Russillo: ALEX HAS FOUND THEIR WAY TO THE TOP ROPE AND HARPER LEE IS STILL NOT MOVING! WHATEVER ALEX COULD HAVE PLANNED RIGHT NOW COULD FINISH THE MATCH RIGHT HERE IF THEY HIT IT! ALEX BACKFLIPS OFF THE TOP ROPE AS THEY LOOK FOR THEIR ANGELIC BLESSING!
Persephone: Even though Harper needs a lot more than an angelic blessing at this point, I really don’t care if this move hits or not. I just want this match to end so we can get even closer to my party for Rexy! YOU HEAR THAT? END THIS NOW!!
James Peters: ALEX WANTS TO END THIS MATCH AS THEY GO FOR THE SENTON PART OF THE ANGELIC BLESSING, BUT OH NO! ALEX MYERS MISSED THE ANGELIC BLESSING AND THEY CRASH AND BURN BACK FIRST ONTO THE CANVAS! HARPER AVOIDED THE SENTON AT THE VERY LAST SECOND AND NOW SHE IS BACK UP TO HER FEET USING THE ROPES TO HELP HER UP!
Rich Russillo: NOW ALEX IS SLOWLY GETTING BACK TO THEIR FEET AND NOW HARPER WAITS! ALEX IS NOW BACK UP TO THEIR FEET AND THEY FIRE OFF ANOTHER SUPERKICK TO HARPER, WHO DUCKS THE KICK AND GETS BEHIND ALEX–
James Peters: HOUSE OF BALLOONS! HARPER GOT ALEX WITH THE HOUSE OF BALLOONS! SHE GOT ALL OF THAT BACKSTABBER AND ALEX IS DOWN AND OUT! HARPER QUICKLY ROLLS ALEX OVER AND HOOKS THE LEG!
ONNNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEE!
TWWWWWWWWWOOOOOO!
THHHHHHRRRRRREEEEEEE!
Rich Russillo: WAIT! LOOK WHO JUST ROLLED INTO THE RING! THAT’S SOLOMON STAN AND… AND KIRK REDWOOD! THE OFF BRAND AMPHETAMINES FROM SHOWDOWN ARE ON VOLTAGE AND THEY HAVE JUST STARTED ATTACKING HARPER LEE! THE REFEREE SEES THE ATTACK AND IMMEDIATELY CALLS FOR THE BELL! THIS MATCH IS OVER!
(DING! DING! DING!)
(The referee has called for the bell as Kirk and Solomon are in the ring just beating the crap out of Harper as Bella Braxton announces the final decision.)
Bella Braxton: Ladies and gentlemen, due to the outside interference, the referee has ruled this match A NO CONTEST!
(The crowd boos at the decision as the Off-Brand Amphetamines continue their beatdown on Harper.)
James Peters: This was a great match we were watching, OBA came out of nowhere and put the beatdown on Harper Lee which put an unfortunate and immediate stop to this great match!
Persephone: What in the world are the former boozer and the weirdo doing here? They’re on Showdown! The last thing we need around here are more morons!
(Holly now slides into the ring to help her tag team partner as Alex rolls their way out of the ring and the two teams engage in a brawl.)
Rich Russillo: They want the Tag Team Championships and they are making their mark by attacking POTARA on their show. We saw Holly roll into the ring attacking Kirk Redwood and now all four people are fighting in the middle of the ring.
James Peters: It looks like even though Holly is trying to even the odds for POTARA, Harper just went through a match and is quickly losing ground against Solomon Stane.
Persephone: What else is new?
Rich Russillo: SOLOMON IS HEADBUTTING THE CRAP OUT OF HARPER LEE BEFORE GRABBING HER BY THE THROAT AND LIFTING HER IN THE AIR BEFORE DRIVING HER DOWN WITH THE TRIUMPH OF TRUTH! SITOUT CHOKESLAM PUT HARPER DOWN FOR GOOD!
James Peters: Now Solomon turns his attention to Holly AND HE CLOBBERS HER FROM BEHIND! Holly falls into Kirk WHO CLOBBERS HER WITH A RIGHT HAND BEFORE TOSSING HOLLY BACK TO SOLOMON!
Rich Russillo: SOLOMON GRABS HOLLY BY THE HEAD AND LOCKS HER UP WITH THE FACELOCK! HOLLY UP IN THE AIR FOR THE X-PLEX–
James Peters: BEFORE KIRK CATCHES HER WITH THE BACKSTABBER! THEY CALL THAT COMBINATION END OF THE RAINBOW AND HOLLY JUST FOUND HERS AND NOT IN A GOOD WAY!
Persephone: Good for them. Now let’s move on with the show.
James Peters: I don’t think they are done yet. It looks like these two have something to say.
(OBA motion over to Bella Braxton for some microphones, which Bella quickly brings them over. OBA take another look at the downed POTARA before Solomon begins to speak.)
Solomon Stane: Do we have your attention now, POTATO?
Kirk Redwood: That’s POTARA, Solomon.
Solomon Stane: Right.. Right. Guess they’ve heard that enough this week. We hope you’re paying real close attention, because you have something that we want.
Kirk Redwood: That’s right! You have our Tag Team Titles and we want them back! We’re not giving up on our mission to reclaim the Unified Tag Team Championships, and we have the perfect place for everything to happen…
Solomon Stane: AT BLOODSPORT!
(The crowd cheers at the announcement of a Bloodsport title match.)
Kirk Redwood: Off-Brand Amphetamines taking on POTARA…
Solomon Stane: For the Unified Tag Team Titles.
Kirk Redwood: Tonight we made our statement by taking out the champs. At Bloodsport, we do it again while we take the Tag Titles back!
(Solomon and Kirk toss their microphones onto POTARA to add insult to injury before they leave the ring. The referee rolls back into the ring to check on POTARA.)
James Peters: Statement made here tonight by Showdown’s Off-Brand Amphetamines. They just laid out the Tag Team Champions and they have issued the challenge for the Unified Tag Team Championships at Bloodsport. From the looks of things, POTARA will accept the challenge. This match is gonna be good.
(The final shot shows Solomon and Kirk walking up the entrance ramp, eyeing their handiwork and motioning for the Tag Team Titles as the referee checks on POTARA, who are still down but slowly moving as the shot fades elsewhere.)
(Commercial for the upcoming Saturday night Showdown, where Sheridan Müller faces Adam Lucas.)
(Voltage returns to ringside before fading to the stage, and for the first time in nearly two years, ‘Kashmir (Paratus Intro)’ by Led Zeppelin hits. This causes an explosion of cheers to come from the crowd, an almost entirely positive reaction from the fans in the Amica Mutual Arena all before seeing the man this music belongs to. After a little while, Jamie O’Hara himself begins to walk out, causing the reaction to grow even louder than it already was.)
James Peters: At Pain for Pride, Yhwach O’Hara and Minerva had a classic match that would ultimately end with Minerva managing to pick up the victory. That win was possibly the biggest in Minerva’s career and it left many of us wondering what was next for O’Hara, but the Draft may have given us some answers.
Rich Russillo: That’s right. We learned through the Draft that O’Hara would be returning to Voltage, but it wouldn’t be the Yhwach O’Hara we’ve seen throughout season 16. Instead, JAMIE O’Hara is back, and if we’re to take Yhwach’s words before Pain for Pride as something to really think about, he may just be more dangerous than ever.
Persephone: I don’t really understand why. How does changing his name affect him in any way? It doesn’t make much sense to me.
(Jamie walks around to the timekeepers area, and on his way there all of the fans in the front row are cheering loudly, excited for the return of Jamie O’Hara. Jamie receives a microphone before entering the ring, and before long he begins to speak.)
Jamie O’Hara: Just one week before Pain for Pride, Yhwach O’Hara stood in this ring and asked a question. That question was “What if Yhwach O’Hara isn’t my final form?” Do you understand now?
(This causes the fans to begin cheering once again, and a smirk appears on Jamie’s face as he continues.)
Jamie O’Hara: Minerva managed to do what nobody else could and truly kept Yhwach O’Hara down. She kept her word, and maybe I should congratulate her for an accomplishment I’m sure she’ll cherish for the rest of her career, but unfortunately Pain for Pride was not the end. In the process of “slaying” Yhwach O’Hara, Minerva made way for the rebirth of Jamie O’Hara. She gave me the opportunity to answer my own question, and show you all what happens in the event that Yhwach isn’t the end. He wasn’t. Yhwach was never my final form, and it took time before I was able to not only realize this fact, but come to terms with it. It took me a while to accept that Yhwach O’Hara was never going to be the peak of my career, and it’s because of that acceptance that I’m standing here right now. It’s because of the slow realization that I can’t deny who I truly am that I’m now more powerful than ever. “What if Yhwach O’Hara isn’t my final form?” That wasn’t just a question. It was a warning, and the man standing before you all right now is exactly what I was warning you all about. Over time I lost the ability to deny who I am. I lost the ability to deny what my place in the world is, and now there’s no more hiding what was clearly there all along. This is the answer to all of the questions and concerns regarding my words prior to Pain for Pride. This is the answer to what the entire world wondered. What’s next for me? What *is* my final form? The answer is right in front of you.
(Jamie looks directly at the camera before continuing.)
Jamie O’Hara: I’m back.
(The cheers continue, and Jamie takes a few steps back, leaning against the ropes before continuing.)
Jamie O’Hara: This is the reality Yhwach O’Hara failed to escape. This is who I really am, and for the entirety of season 16 I tried as hard as I could to lie to myself. I tried as hard as I could to deny the world of my true self, all without realizing that I may have been doing myself a disservice. Yhwach died a cruel death because of his inability to to stop me. Yhwach is no longer here because he failed, and as long as I existed he was always going to. As long as there was anything left of Jamie O’Hara, Yhwach’s end was inevitable. That’s what I failed to realize when I entered the ring back at Wicked Games and started this whole journey, but once I did realize it… I realized that through the loss of Yhwach, Jamie would only continue to thrive. Minerva’s victory was the final nail in a coffin that had already been laid out for Yhwach, and with that being said, we’ve reached a new beginning in more ways than one. This isn’t just the beginning of a new season, where I’m sure there’ll be countless members of the roster desperately searching for ways to elevate their own careers in an attempt to somehow craft a legacy that compares to my own. I no longer have the ability to hide the same way I did one year ago. I no longer have the ability to deny who I truly am, so this isn’t just the beginning of a new season. It’s the beginning of a return that I couldn’t do anything to avoid.
Jamie O’Hara: Know this, I’m not going anywhere. When I say I feel better than ever, you all know me well enough to understand that this is no exaggeration. I’m here to stay, and since it was Voltage that decided to draft me, there are around twenty Elitists that have been cursed with the misfortune of potentially meeting me inside of the ring. Whether it’s next week, next month, or even further down the line, you’ll have your time, because Yhwach’s journey is over. What was started when I first set my sights on Myles nearly a year ago no longer exists, and what’s left is the perfection the world has known for years. This is who Voltage will be seeing for the next year. This is who you’ll be stuck with for the remainder of the season. This is the answer you were all looking for.
(The fans cheer loudly as Jamie finishes speaking, and at this point Jamie is prepared to leave the ring. He doesn’t get the opportunity to do that however, as ‘Bounce Back’ by Big Sean hits. This causes more of a negative reaction to come from the crowd, though there’s some cheers knowing the history between Jamie and the Elitist walking out. That Elitist is none other than Jack Ripley, who is holding a microphone in his hand as he makes his way out to the stage.)
James Peters: Well that’s a surprise! It looks like Jack Ripley is making his way out now, and he clearly has something to say as he has a microphone in his hand! Jack had a pretty eventful past few weeks too, hasn’t he?
Rich Russillo: He sure has. Not only was he inducted into the Hall of Fame, but he competed at Pain for Pride in a match for the National Elite Championship! In the end it was a losing effort as Jon Kelton would leave the match as Champion, but clearly that’s not stopping Jack from walking out and confronting Jamie tonight.
Persephone: So… Jamie just cut a whole promo talking about being better than ever and now the guy that lost to Jon Kelton is confronting him? Is Jack stupid?
James Peters: Don’t you think we should hear what Jack has to say before you start insulting him?
(Jack walks up the steel steps, and Jamie just watches on as Jack makes his way into the ring. By this point there’s a loud mixed reaction seeing these two share the ring again, and Jack walks up to Jamie, causing a staredown between the two. After a few seconds, Jack begins to speak.)
Jack Ripley: It’s been a while, Jamie.
(This actually causes the fans to begin cheering, but Jamie O’Hara just watches on, waiting to hear what Jack is really here for.)
Jack Ripley: I already said it at the start of the week, but part of me is glad that I’m able to move on and get a fresh start on the same brand I was able to do the same thing years ago. We all know just how messy season 16 really was for me, and I’m not proud of it. I’m not proud of the fact that an entire year of my career was wasted, making little to no progress in any way. I couldn’t win the Answers World Championship, a title I’ve held before. I couldn’t win the National Elite Championship, another title I held before. I spent just about every single major match I had last season staring at the lights, and you and I both know that I can’t keep that cycle going as a Hall of Famer. I’ve reached a new stage in my career, a stage where my name is going down in history and my accomplishments are going to be remembered for years. I’ve already made my own legacy, but if I keep going down the path I was on since last season all I’m going to do is tarnish it. I’m embarrassed to have done as badly as I did last season knowing what kind of competitor I am, and maybe a change in scenery is what I needed. Or at least, the change in scenery gave me the opportunity to take what I needed.
Jamie O’Hara: Spit it out, Jack. Why are you here?
Jack Ripley: I’m here because I want a fight.
(This causes even louder cheers than before to come from the crowd as Jack continues.)
Jack Ripley: I want to rejuvenate my career, Jamie. I want to get back to doing what I’m used to and actually finding success fitting for a Hall of Famer and a former World Champion. I don’t just want a fight, I want a match against someone I know will get the very best version of Jack Ripley possible. It took you an entire season to reach this point after all, right? You said it yourself, it took an entire year of that “Yhwach O’Hara” gimmick before you realized who you realized who you really were, and now you’re standing here as the same Jamie O’Hara that was holding the Answers World Championship three years ago. I just had as bad of a season as possible, and now I want to go back to being the Jack Ripley that took that Championship from you and ended your last reign as World Champion. I reached the very top of the company before and I know I’m MORE than capable of doing it again. I want to be the Jack Ripley that spent months at the top of Showdown. I want to go back to being the Jack Ripley that created this Hall of Fame worthy career in the first place, and you tell me Jamie, what better way is there to do that than by facing the same man I defeated to reach the greatest heights of my career? I don’t think there’s any better opponent for me right now, not with the state my career has been in.
(While the cheers continue, so does the staredown between Jamie and Jack. It takes some time, but eventually Jamie begins to speak once more, with almost a confused look on his face.)
Jamie O’Hara: Jack I’ll need you to help me understand something, because as of right now I actually feel a bit lost. You just had one of- if not the very worst season of your career so far. You’re in a slump right now, almost entirely incapable of finding the success you’re looking for regardless of where you look, whether it’s chasing Kassidy and Impact for an Answers World Championship match or Veena Adams and Jon Kelton for the National Elite Championship. You want to get your career back on track more than anything else, especially following your Hall of Fame induction… Yet you wish to do this at my expense?
Jack Ripley: That’s right.
Jamie O’Hara: Okay, Jack. My words a few minutes ago, did they fall on deaf ears? Did I spend all that time talking to a brick wall?
Jack Ripley: No. I heard your every word, and I think you’re forgetting what our history holds. I’ve beaten you before, haven’t I? Not only that, but I did it in one of the most dangerous and barbaric matches possible. I went through an entire Extreme Elimination Chamber to take the Answers World Championship from you. One of the same accolades I was inducted for happened because I had the ability to defeat you. I said I wanted to bring back the Jack Ripley that reaches the very top of this company, and that means the same Jack Ripley that was already able to take you down in the past. We’ve had multiple matches. We have a good amount of history and we’ve taken each other to Hell and back, which is exactly why I’m standing here right now. If you believe you’re better than ever, and that this version of Jamie O’Hara exceeds everything we’ve seen in the past, then I’m ready to do what I’ve already done before. The entire world saw what I could do once everything was on the line, why don’t we see what I can do now?
(There’s loud cheers from the fans, who clearly want to see these two face each other once again. There’s a brief silence between the two Elitists inside of the ring, but the silence is broken as Jamie just begins to laugh. This surprises the fans a bit, and Jamie just walks past Jack, beginning to leave the ring as ‘Kashmir (Paratus Intro) begins to play once again.)
James Peters: Wow. Jamie not even giving Jack an answer, instead just leaving him in the ring after literally laughing at him. I’m not so sure what it means yet, but I guess we’ll have the opportunity to find out in the coming weeks.
Rich Russillo: Hopefully Jack Ripley knows what he’s getting himself into. I don’t say this because of any of Jack’s failures or losses, either. I’m saying this because we’ve seen what Yhwach O’Hara was capable of for an entire year, and that supposedly wasn’t even his final form. This is.
Persephone: Yeah I still don’t get it, but whatever. It looks like Jack really is just as dumb as I thought he was, and even Jamie laughed at him because of it.
James Peters: I think Jack knew exactly what he was doing. He wanted to face an old rival, and time will tell whether or not it actually happens.
(Jack Ripley watches on as Jamie O’Hara continues walking up the ramp, making his way to the back. As Jack is left in the ring, Voltage fades away from ringside.)
(Commercial for EAW 2k23, a wrestling game that would full of features such as an incredible Create A Wrestler mode!)
(The camera cuts to Bella Braxton ringside.)
Bella Braxton: THE FOLLOWING CONTEST IS SCHEDULED FOR… ONE FALL!!
Crowd: ONE FALL!!
(‘Bounce Back’ by Big Sean plays in the background as Jack Ripley is already in the ring, pacing back and forth, focused, waiting for the arrival of his opponent in Donovan Duke.)
Bella Braxton: Introducing first! Already in the ring! Hailing out of Las Vegas, Nevada, weighing in at 205 pounds…HE IS STRAIGHT SHOOTER…JACK RIPLEY!!!
(“I Rise” by Cory Marks plays next to a positive reaction from fans, as Donovan Duke exits the curtain, and poses on the stage area. Duke makes his way down to the ring, high-fiving fans along the way when he can, but remains focused ahead of his match against Ripley, taking glances at the Hall of Famer, making sure not to keep his eyes off him for too long.)
Bella Braxton: And his opponent! Hailing out of Stillwater, Oklahoma, weighing in at 212 pounds…HE IS THE OKLAHOMA STORM…DONOVAN DUKE!!
James Peters: Earlier on tonight, we saw Donovan Duke step to the plate, and earn himself a match against Drake King at Bloodsport, alongside Alex Myers and Ruler.
Rich Russillo: Now, he can build momentum by defeating Jack Ripley, an EAW Hall of Famer, who is no slouch in that ring, and is more dangerous now more than ever, as he has a gigantic chip on his shoulder.
James Peters: Ripley wants to prove himself still, even as a Hall of Famer, and a way he can do that is defeating Donovan Duke, which could place him in title contention down the line.
Persephone: Whatever. Let’s just hurry this up. My party for Sexy Rexy is up next!
(“I Rise” by Cory Marks fades in the background as both competitors stare at one another from opposing corners, looking ready as the referee signals the bell.)
(DING! DING! DING!)
James Peters: The bell has rung, and both men are exchanging words in the center of the ring, getting a little trash talk going before circling one another, and locking up. A jockey for position takes place, and it looks as if Donovan Duke is getting the upper hand over Jack Ripley early on, backing him towards the corner. But last minute, Jack shifts the momentum, pivoting Donovan Duke in the corner instead, and keeping him pinned there for the time being. He has until the count of five as the referee has intervened.
Referee: ONE! TWO! THREE!
Rich Russillo: Jack Ripley separates from Duke in the corner, BUT SHOVES HIM BEFORE COMPLETELY BACKING AWAY, possibly some mind games being played by Ripley.
James Peters: He’s looking to get in the head of his opponent, maybe rile Duke up, and it might’ve worked, as Donovan does seem a little annoyed with Jack’s actions in the corner.
Persephone: I’m already annoyed. These two are keeping me from seeing my Sexy Rexy.
James Peters: We know that.
Persephone: Then do something!
James Peters: Now, what do you want me to- nevermind, you’ll just have to hang tight, as I got a feeling these two are in for a long one.
Persephone: :madstare:
Rich Russillo: Donovan Duke exits the corner, and both men circle each other for a second time. A collar and elbow tie-up takes place in the center of the ring! Donovan Duke gets the upper hand, managing to wring the arm of Ripley, and wrenches the hold. Jack goes down to a knee momentarily, but rises up, and shifts the momentum once more, wringing the arm of Duke, and quickly transitioning into a standing side headlock.
James Peters: Jack transitions into a hammerlock, and turns Donovan around for a snapmare, placing Duke down to a seated position for a KNIFE EDGE CHOP TO THE BACK! But Donovan Duke shrugs it off, and rushes back to his feet, GOING FOR A KNIFE EDGE CHOP ON RIPLEY IN RETALIATION! But Jack ducks underneath, and backpedals to the corner, sticking his torso out through the middle rope. Donovan is trying to get at him, but the referee is blocking his path, keeping him at bay.
Rich Russillo: Ripley is putting that veteran experience to good use, pushing the buttons of his opponent, and if he keeps that up, he could goad Duke into making a mistake, falling right into his trap. Donovan is encouraging for Ripley to meet him in the center of the ring, urging him on to do so. Jack exits the corner, and both men circle each other for another collar and elbow tie-up!
Persephone: Yay, more technical wrestling! 😒
James Peters: Jack Ripley manages to slip behind Duke for a rear waistlock, but Donovan escapes with a drop toe hold, and floats over a prone Jack for a grounded front facelock. Jack twirls out of it, and locks Ripley in a grounded front facelock of his own, both competitors up to their knees. Donovan Duke powers back to his feet, and Ripley transitions from the front facelock to an arm wringer, which is quickly transitioned into a standing side headlock.
Rich Russillo: Jack wrenches on the hold, tightening his grip over Duke, who escapes after bouncing Ripley off the ropes! JACK REBOUNDS BACK WITH A SHOULDER TACKLE, TAKING DONOVAN DOWN! Jack runs off the ropes, but Duke rolls on his belly, forcing Ripley to leap over him! Duke pops back to his feet, and leapfrogs over Jack before catching him with a DROPKIC- NO! Duke tried catching Ripley with a dropkick, but Jack hooked his arms on the top rope, halting his momentum.
James Peters: Duke rises to all fours, and clutches at his abdominal area. Ripley realizes his opponent is vulnerable, and rushes into a kneeling side headlock over Duke. Jack pulls Donovan back to his feet, and grounds him with a side headlock takedown! Duke presses his forearm up against Jack’s jaw, attempting to push him off, but is unable to do so, as that headlock is in tight.
Rich Russillo: Jack manages to pin both Donovan’s shoulders on the mat while still keeping him in the side headlock. Could he pull a fast one here?!
ONNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
Persephone: I wish. But Donovan gets the shoulder up…
Rich Russillo: Donovan makes sure to keep it up as well, not wanting to wind up in another pinning predicament. The crowd is starting to rally behind Duke, which he uses as his fuel to power back to his feet. Donovan backs Jack Ripley into the corner, which means that Jack has to break the hold before the count of five, or else he’ll be disqualified.
Persephone: Don’t break it, Jack! DON’T BREAK IT!
Referee: ONE! TWO!
James Peters: Well, Jack followed your orders, Persephone, but that’s cause he didn’t necessarily have a choice, as Donovan Duke shoved him off the headlock, and towards the opposite corner! JACK FOLLOWS BEHIND HIM, BUT RIPLEY GOES UP AND OVER IN THE CORNER! Jack almost collides sternum first with the top turnbuckle, but halts his momentum before doing so, and spins around. KICK TO THE GUT BY RIPLEY, FOLLOWED UP WITH AN IRISH WHIP TO THE OPPOSITE CORNER!
Rich Russillo: BUT DONOVAN COUNTERS, SENDING RIPLEY INSTEAD! DONOVAN CHARGES IN- BUT RUNS RIGHT INTO A BACK ELBOW FROM RIPLEY, STAGGERING DUKE BACK A BIT! JACK HOPS TO THE MIDDLE ROPE, BUT DONOVAN CHARGES HIM! JACK LEAPS OVER DONOVAN, AND ROLLS THROUGH TO HIS FEET!
James Peters: DONOVAN RUSHES IN, AND DOUBLE LEGS RIPLEY DOWN TO THE CANVAS! DUKE HOOKS BOTH LEGS FOR A GIANT SWING, ALSO KNOWN AS GAMBLERS ROULETTE! BUT JACK ROLLS ONTO HIS BELLY WITH ENOUGH FORCE, CAUSING DUKE TO FRONT FLIP ONTO HIS BACK! BOTH COMPETITORS SCRAMBLE BACK TO THEIR FEET, EACH LOOKING TO GET THE UPPER HAND, AND DONOVAN LIFTS RIPLEY ONTO HIS SHOULDERS FOR A FIREMAN’S CARRY!
Persephone: DUKE OF HAZARD!!
Rich Russillo: NO! SPOKE TOO SOON! RIPLEY SLIPPED OFF DONOVAN’S SHOULDERS, LANDING BEHIND HIM, AND SPINS DONOVAN AROUND FOR AN IRISH WHIP TOWARDS THE ROPES! DONOVAN REBOUNDS BACK INTO A CLOTHESLINE- NO! DONOVAN DUCKS UNDERNEATH, AND RIPLEY GOES TO RUN OFF THE ROPES! BUT DONOVAN IS PREPARED, AND CLOTHESLINES RIPLEY UP AND OVER THE TOP ROPE!
James Peters: Jack spills to the outside, but quickly rises up to a knee. Duke waits for him to get back to his feet, AND RUNS OFF THE ROPES FOR A BASEBALL SLIDE DROPKICK! BUT JACK RIPLEY SIDE STEPS, AND ROLLS BACK INTO THE RING! Jack plants himself in the center, and is the one beckoning now for Duke to meet him there. You can see that Donovan is visibly apprehensive, given that Ripley has the high ground, but given the referee’s count, he doesn’t have much time to dwell on it.
Rich Russillo: Duke goes to enter through the middle rope, but can only get half way in before getting caught with a PENALTY KICK TO THE CHEST! Jack Ripley grabs hold of Duke’s head, and pulls him fully inside the ring, leaning Donovan up against the ropes for a HARD RIGHT HAND! Jack grabs the back of Duke’s neck, and proceeds to slam him FACE FIRST off the top turnbuckle!
James Peters: Donovan Duke is stunned in the corner, and gets hit across the chest with a KNIFE EDGE CHOP! Ripley isn’t done, and follows with ANOTHER! THEN ANOTHER! DUKE GOES FOR ONE OF HIS OWN, BUT RIPLEY DUCKS UNDERNEATH, AND CATCHES DUKE WITH A FOURTH CHOP! DUKE TRIES FOR ANOTHER KNIFE EDGE CHOP AS A REBUTTAL, BUT RIPLEY ONCE AGAIN HAS IT SCOUTED, DUCKING UNDERNEATH, AND TAGGING DUKE WITH A FIFTH CHOP!
Rich Russillo: DUKE GOES FOR A THIRD KNIFE EDGE CHOP ATTEMPT! BUT AGAIN, RIPLEY DUCKS UNDERNEATH IT, AND LANDS A SIXTH THUNDEROUS CHOP! Donovan Duke is dazed, and Ripley grabs him in a standing side headlock, which gets turned to a side headlock takeover! Jack Ripley has grounded Donovan Duke once more, BUT IT MIGHT BACKFIRE AS DUKE ROLLS RIPLEY ONTO HIS SHOULDERS!
ONNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
TWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
Persephone: Nearfall…
James Peters: Ripley finds himself back on top of Duke with that grounded side headlock, and makes sure to tighten the hold. Ripley has done a good job of keeping Donovan’s momentum to a minimum, but for how long can he do so? We might find out soon enough as Donovan powers back to his feet, and delivers a few shots to the rib cage of Ripley, loosening his grip, so he can rebound him off the ropes to escape!
Rich Russillo: JACK RIPLEY REBOUNDS BACK, AND DROPS DUKE WITH ANOTHER SHOULDER TACKLE! JACK RUNS OFF THE ROPES, BUT IS FORCED TO LEAP OVER DONOVAN, WHO ROLLS TO HIS BELLY! DONOVAN LEAP FROGS OVER JACK RIPLEY AS HE COMES REBOUNDING BACK! JACK RIPLEY HALTS HIS MOMENTUM BEHIND DUKE, AND SHOVES HIM INTO THE ROPES!
James Peters: DONOVAN REBOUNDS OFF, BUT HALTS HIS MOMENTUM SHORT AS JACK TRIED TO LEAPFROG OVER HIM! RIPLEY LANDS ON HIS FEET, AND GETS CAUGHT WITH A STIFF KNIFE EDGE CHOP, GETTING A TASTE OF HIS OWN MEDICINE! Ripley goes down, and sits up, clutching at his chest, but gets laid flat down by Duke for a cover!
ONNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
Rich Russillo: Only a one count, and you had to expect tuat, as it’ll take a lot more for someone the caliber of Jack Ripley to go down! Donovan Duke knows this, and stays focused, pulling Jack to his feet, and knocks him back into the corner with a right hand! Seeing that his opponent is pinned there, Duke connects with a WICKED knife edge chop! AND CONTINUES TO LIGHT RIPLEY UP WITH THEM!
James Peters: BUT JACK SHIFTS THE MOMENTUM, SENDING DONOVAN INTO THE CORNER NOW FOR SOME KNIFE EDGE CHOPS! DUKE LOOKS TO FIGHT OUT OF THE CORNER WITH A CHOP OF HIS OWN, BUT RIPLEY RESPONDS IN KIND! CHOP BY DUKE! CHOP BY JACK! CHOP BY DUKE! CHOP BY JACK! CHOP BY DUKE! ANOTHER BY DUKE! THEN ANOTHER BY DUKE, WHO HAS SUCCESSFULLY FOUGHT HIS WAY OUT OF THE CORNER!
Rich Russillo: Donovan irish whips Ripley to the corner! Ripley tries going up and over as he did earlier, but Donovan sees it coming this time, and stops himself short. RIPLEY LANDS ON HIS FEET, AND DONOVAN GRABS HIM BY THE BACK OF HIS NECK, SENDING JACK UP AND OVER THE TOP ROPE! BUT JACK CATCHES HIMSELF ON THE APRON, AND DONOVAN RUNS OFF THE ROPES TO KNOCK HIM OFF WITH A FOREARM!
James Peters: Ripley flies rib first into the barricade, and turns around while clutching at them, WHICH TURNS OUT TO BE A HUGE MISTAKE AS DONOVAN DUKE COMES SOARING THROUGH THE MIDDLE ROPE WITH A SUICIDE DIVE! JACK RIPLEY COLLIDES BACK FIRST WITH THE BARRICADE! Donovan Duke rolls Jack Ripley back inside the ring, and slides in afterwards.
Rich Russillo: As Duke gets to a knee, Ripley is already to his feet, AND RUNS OFF THE ROPES! DONOVAN DROPS DOWN! AND RIPLEY REBOUNDS OFF THE ROPES INTO A PICTURE PERFECT SPINEBUSTER BY DUKE! DONOVAN HOOKS THE LEG FOR A COVER!
ONNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
TWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
James Peters: SHOULDER UP! Donovan Duke pulls Ripley back to his feet, and plants him with a beautiful SNAP suplex before floating over into the cover!
ONNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
TWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
James Peters: Two count! Donovan pulls Ripley up again, and knocks him back into the corner with a right hand! Donovan Duke whips Jack to the opposite corner, AND CHARGES IN WITH A CLOTHESLINE! JACK GETS WHIPPED BACK TO THE PREVIOUS CORNER, AND GETS CAUGHT WITH ANOTHER RUNNING CLOTHESLINE!
Rich Russillo: DONOVAN DUKE RUNS OFF THE ROPES, AND JACK COMES STAGGERING OUT OF THE CORNER! BUT MIGHTVE BEEN PLAYING POSSUM AS HE POPS DONOVAN OVERHEAD FOR A STUN GUN! DUKE COLLIDED THROAT FIRST WITH THE TOP ROPE, AND GOES DOWN GASPING FOR AIR! Ripley drops to a knee, showing that offense he took from Duke is starting to take a toll.
Persephone: Good! Can it take its toll faster??
James Peters: With Duke down gasping for air, Ripley walks over, and begins reigning down with rope-assisted stomps to the chest! Jack stands Donovan up, and sends him staggering into the corner with a right hand! Jack proceeds to thrust his shoulder into Donovan’s midsection repeatedly, which knocks the wind out of Duke. Jack snapmares him down to a seated position, and charges in with a BASEMENT DROPKICK to the back of Donovan’s head!
Rich Russillo: Donovan writhes in pain as a result, and Jack crawls in for a cover!
ONNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
TWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
Rich Russillo: Kickout! Jack doesn’t seem phased, and stands Donovan up for a HANGMAN’S NECKBREAKER! Ripley floats over into the cover!
ONNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
TWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
Rich Russillo: Kickout! Donovan hangs in there, and attempts to create some separation from Duke, crawling towards the corner, and pulling himself up with assistance from the ropes. Ripley is in hot pursuit, and tags Donovan with a forearm! Jack Ripley whips Donovan to the opposite corner afterward! BUT DONOVAN DUKE HALTS HIMSELF SHORT OF COLLIDING STERNUM FIRST WITH THE TOP TURNBUCKLE! RIPLEY CHARGES IN AFTER HIM, AND GETS DOUBLED OVER WITH A BACK KICK TO THE GUT!
James Peters: Donovan Duke climbs to the top turnbuckle, keeping his back turned towards Ripley, AND DIVES OFF WITH A MOONSAULT PRESS! DUKE HOOKS THE LEG!
ONNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
TWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
James Peters: JACK EXPLODES OUT OF THE COVER, AND BOTH COMPETITORS SCRAMBLE BACK TO THEIR FEET! DONOVAN GETS TO HIS FIRST, AND RUNS RIGHT INTO A CLOTHESLINE BY JACK! Ripley takes a moment to catch his breath, possibly rethink his strategy before lifting Donovan Duke back to a vertical base. KNIFE EDGE CHOP BY JACK RIPLEY!
Rich Russillo: Donovan Duke feels the effects of that momentarily, BUT RETURNS FIRE WITH A KNIFE EDGE CHOP OF HIS OWN! Jack Ripley felt the effect of that one, AND SWITCHES IT UP WITH A FOREARM STRIKE, CATCHING DUKE ON THE JAW! DONOVAN RESPONDS BACK WITH A FOREARM STRIKE AS WELL! FOREARM BY RIPLEY! FOREARM BY DUKE! FOREARM BY RIPLEY! FOREARM BY DUKE!
James Peters: ANOTHER BY DUKE! ANOTHER BY DUKE! AND ANOTHER BY DUKE! JACK RIPLEY IS STUNNED, AND GETS REBOUNDED OFF THE ROPES FOR A BACK BODY DROP! DUKE DUCKS DOWN, SIGNALING EARLY, BUT RIPLEY STOPS HIMSELF SHORT, AND CONNECTS WITH A DDT! COVER IS MADE BY JACK!
ONNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
TWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
Persephone: 🙄 I’m bored.
James Peters: Really? I couldn’t tell! 😃
Persephone: Can one of them hit their finish already? :noah:
Rich Russillo: Donovan sits up after kicking out, and Jack Ripley applies a rear chinlock.
Persephone: Kill me.
Rich Russillo: Ripley digs his knee in between Donovan’s shoulder blades, and pulls his head back, wearing his opponent, trying to take Donovan’s energy, which can be vital for a competitor. The crowd is rallying behind Donovan Duke once again, reminiscent of earlier, and Donovan rises back to his feet, and breaks Jack’s grip with a couple of back elbows to the midsection!
James Peters: DONOVAN EXPLODES WITH KNIFE EDGE CHOPS AFTERWARD, PLACING RIPLEY ON WOBBLY LEGS! DONOVAN RUNS OFF THE ROPES! BUT RIPLEY INTERCEPTS HIM WITH A RUNNING BACK ELBOW, TAKING DONOVAN DOWN, AND JACK QUICKLY GOES FOR A COVER!
ONNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
Rich Russillo: Kickout at one! Jack Ripley amps up the aggression, and mounts Duke with repeated right hands to the skull, despite Donovan’s best attempts to cover up. Donovan gets lifted back to his feet, and gets cracked in the jaw with a forearm! Duke is dazed, and gets snapmared to a seated position on the canvas before getting PENALTY KICKED in the spine by Ripley! Jack lays Donovan down for a cover!
ONNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
TWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
James Peters: Kickout! But Jack stays on top of him, continuing to wear Duke down with a grounded rear chinlock. The referee is asking Donovan if he wants to quit, but I’m sure we all know what the answer to that is. Again, the crowd are rallying behind Donovan Duke, and he uses that as fuel to help power back to his feet, having that never say die attitude on full display, refusing to stay down.
Rich Russillo: Donovan Duke breaks free from Jack’s clutches with a pair of elbows to the midsection! DONOVAN RUNS OFF THE ROPES! RIPLEY DUCKS DOWN, SIGNALING FOR A BACK BODY DROP, TRYING TO SHIFT THE MOMENTUM BACK IN HIS FAVOR! BUT THE BACK BODY DROP IS COUNTERED, AS DUKE HALTS HIS MOMENTUM, AND PLACES JACK BETWEEN HIS LEGS FOR A POWERBOMB IT SEEMS!
James Peters: BACK BODY DROP BY JACK, BUT DONOVAN COUNTERS WITH A SUNSET FLIP!
ONNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
TWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
James Peters: BOTH COMPETITORS ROLL THROUGH TO THEIR FEET, AND RIPLEY TAKES DUKE DOWN WITH A BIG RUNNING CLOTHESLINE! Jack Ripley goes to climb the top rope afterward, but takes his time, given the wear and tear, WHICH COSTS HIM AS DUKE LAUNCHES RIPLEY OFF THE TOP TURNBUCKLE! Ripley with a front flip onto the canvas, and rises back to his feet favoring his back.
Rich Russillo: Donovan wanders into a BACK ELBOW by Ripley, stunning him momentarily! Jack runs toward the ropes, BUT GETS REELED BACK BY THE BAND OF HIS TRUNKS, PULLED INTO PLACE YOUR BET! DOUBLE CHICKENWING SPUN INTO A REVERSE STO! DUKE SHOOTS THE HALF!
ONNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
TWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
THHHHHHHHHRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEE-
Persephone: NO!
James Peters: DONOVAN WAS CLOSE, BUT JACK GOT THE SHOULDER UP TIME! The wear and tear on both competitors are beginning to show as Donovan crawls to the corner, using it to pull himself up. Jack does the same in the opposite corner. Once locking eyes, both men march to one another in the center of the ring! JACK ATTEMPTS A CLOTHESLINE ON DONOVAN! BUT DUKE DUCKS UNDERNEATH, BUT DONOVAN DUCKS UNDERNEATH, AND CHOPS RIPLEY ACROSS THE BACK!
Rich Russillo: DONOVAN TURNS JACK AROUND, AND CHOPS HIM ACROSS THE CHEST MULTIPLE TIMES NOW BEFORE IRISH WHIPPING HIM OFF THE ROPES! JACK RIPLEY RUNS RIGHT INTO A CLOTHESLINE! BUT JACK IS IMMEDIATELY BACK TO HIS FEET, AND GETS CAUGHT WITH ANOTHER RUNNING CLOTHESLINE! AGAIN, JACK IS QUICKLY BACK TO HIS FEET, AND GETS BOUNCED OFF THE ROPES!
James Peters: DROPKICK! JACK REBOUNDED INTO A DROPKICK, WHICH DONOVAN ATTEMPTED EARLIER! NOW, HE FINALLY CONNECTS, AND MAKES THE COVER!
ONNNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
TWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
James Peters: Kickout! Donovan slowly rises back to his feet, and pulls Ripley back to his afterward. Donovan backs Jack into the corner with a right hand, and connects with a chop, making sure that Jack stays stunned for the time being! Ripley gets whipped to the opposite corner, AND DUKE CHARGES IN WITH A RUNNING CLOTHESLINE! JACK GETS HOISTED UP ON DONOVAN’S SHOULDER, AND DUKE BUILDS MOMENTUM FOR A RUNNING POWERSLAM IN THE CENTER OF THE RING! COVER IS MADE BY DUKE, HOOKING THE LEG!
ONNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
TWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
THHHHHHHHHRRRRRRRREEEEEE-
Rich Russillo: NO! JACK RIPLEY POPS THE SHOULDER UP, DESPITE THE INCREDIBLY EXPLOSIVE OFFENSE BY DUKE!
Persephone: 😤 Deep breathes, Persephone, deep breaths…
Rich Russillo: Donovan pounds the mat in frustration, his first of it, but reels himself back in rather quickly once taking notice that Jack is beginning to stir. Ripley makes it to all fours before Duke comes up behind him, and wraps his arms around Ripley’s waist, lifting him back to his feet that way. DUKE WANTS A GERMAN SUPLEX- BUT JACK BLOCKS IT, HOLDING HIS WEIGHT DOWN, AMD TRYING TO PRY DUKE’S HANDS APART!
James Peters: FROM THERE, DUKE CLUBS RIPLEY ACROSS THE BACK, TRYING TO BEAT THE FIGHT OUT OF JACK RIPLEY, AND GOES FOR THE GERMAN SUPLEX AGAIN! HOWEVER, JACK PERFORMS A STANDING SWITCH ON DONOVAN, HAVING HIM IN A REAR WAISTLOCK NOW, AND JACK DRIVES DUKE STERNUM FIRST INTO THE TOP TURNBUCKLE BEFORE COMPLETING AN O’CONNOR ROLL!
ONNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
TWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
THHHHHH-
Rich Russillo: KICKOUT! JACK RIPLEY STOPS HIMSELF FROM COLLIDING FACE FIRST WITH THE TOP TURNBUCKLE, AND TURNS AROUND AS DUKE GETS TO A KNEE! DAYLIGHT SLAYING TIME! RUNNING KNEE STRIKE TO THE FACE OF DONOVAN, WHO GOES DOWN, AND RIPLEY COVERS!
ONNNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
TWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
THHHHHHHHHRRRRRRRRREEEE-
James Peters: KICKOUT! Jack Ripley checks with the referee on if that was three or not. The referee confirms no, but it was very close.
Persephone: Quit complaining, and stay on him, idiot!
Rich Russillo: Jack must be ready to finish this as he drags Donovan in position for his signature Shooting Star Press, also known as Believe It or Not! A move which has put away countless competitors in EAW. Jack goes to exit the ring, BUT GETS ROLLED UP WITH A SCHOOL BOY BY DONOVAN!
ONNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
TWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
THHHHHHHHHHHRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEE-
James Peters: VERY CLOSE NEAR FALL! BOTH COMPETITORS RUSH BACK TO THEIR FEET, AND JACK TAKES DONOVAN OFF BALANCE WITH A STEP-UP ENZIGURI! JACK GRABS DONOVAN IN A FRONT FACELOCK, AND KICKS OFF THE TOP TURNBUCKLE FOR A TORNADO DDT! JACK RIPLEY TRANSITIONS TO A GROUNDED GUILLOTINE CHOKE, WRAPPING HIS LEGS AROUND DONOVAN’S WAIST!
Rich Russillo: RIPLEY IS USING DONOVAN’S OWN MOVE AGAINST HIM, AND HOW EMBARRASSING WOULD IT BE FOR DONOVAN TO TAP OUT?!
James Peters: JACK WRENCHES ON THE HOLD, BUT DONOVAN REACHES OUT FOR THE ROPES, BEGINNING TO SLOWLY INCH HIS WAY THERE! DUKE HAS BROUGHT HIMSELF CLOSER, BUT THE BOTTOM ROPE STILL ISNT IN ARMS REACH!
Rich Russillo: CAUSING DUKE TO USE HIS FOOT INSTEAD, PLACING IT ON THE BOTTOM ROPE! MEANING: JACK RIPLEY HAS TO BREAK THE HOLD OR ELSE HE’LL BE DISQUALIFIED!
Referee: ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR!
James Peters: Finally, Jack Ripley releases the hold, but not before utilizing almost ALL of that five count. Duke looks glossed over as a result, and Jack scoots away from him slightly, thinking up his next game plan, trying to find what’s the move going forward. An idea must’ve popped in Ripley head as he goes to the apron, and stalks Duke, who uses the ropes to pull himself up. JACK SLINGSHOTS OVER THE TOP ROPE, AND SPIKES DONOVAN WITH A SLINGSHOT DDT, GETTING ALL OF IT!
Rich Russillo: Jack instinctively tried going for the cover, but stopped himself from doing so, deciding to climb to the top rope instead as Donovan Duke is in perfect position. Ripley perches himself, AND DIVES OFF WITH BELIEVE IT OR NOT! BUT THERES NO WATER IN THE POOL FOR HIM AS DONOVAN DUKE GETS OUT OF THE WAY! RIPLEY POPS TO ALL FOURS, CLUTCHING AT HIS STOMACH, HAVING COME DOWN HARD!
Persephone: CMON, DUKE! CAPITALIZE! PUT HIM AWAY!
James Peters: DUKE GETS ON TOP OF RIPLEY WITH A REAR MOUNT, AND ROLLS ONTO HIS BACK FOR A REAR NAKED CHOKE! REAR NAKED CHOKE IS CINCHED IN, NOW DUKE IS LOOKING TO MAKE RIPLEY SUBMIT! JACK FLAILS HIS ARMS, BUT THERES SOME QUICK THINKING ON HIS PART, ROLLING TOWARDS THE ROPES, AND GRABBING HOLD OF THE BOTTOM ONE!
Referee: ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR!
Rich Russillo: Duke does the same thing that Ripley did, using all of that five count, giving him a taste of his own medicine. Jack was beginning to turn purple in the rear naked choke, and lies almost motionless, prone on the canvas. Duke grabs him by the head, and slowly pulls Ripley back to his feet. Duke tries getting Jack up in a fireman’s carry, BUT CANT HOIST HIM UP AS JACK RIPLEY REIGNS DOWN WITH REPEATED SHARP ELBOWS TO THE JAW!
James Peters: Ripley turns Duke around for a rear waistlock, BUT DUKE CONNECTS WITH A BACK ELBOW ON RIPLEY BEFORE A STANDING SWITCH! DUKE GOES FOR A GERMAN SUPLEX, BUT JACK RIPLEY COUNTERS WITH A VICTORY ROLL! HE DOESNT HOLD IT FOR A COVER, AND INSTEAD, LEAPS INTO THE AIR WITH A DOUBLE FOOT STOMP TO THE CHEST OF DONOVAN DUKE! COVER IS MADE!
ONNNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
TWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
THHHHHHHHHHHHHRRRRRRRRREEEEEEE-
Rich Russillo: NEARFALL, WHICH HAS BECOME A COMMON THEME THIS IN MATCH UP! Jack Ripley repeatedly pounds the mat in frustration, his anger reaching a boiling point, and Jack heads to the corner. Jack is starting to tune up the band, stomping his foot down, letting people know he plans to end this with You’ll Float Too!
James Peters: Donovan slowly gets to his feet, AND JACK GOES FOR THE SUPERKICK! BUT DUKE DUCKS UNDERNEATH, AND RIPLEY TURNS AROUND, GETTING CAUGHT WITH A SNAP MICHINOKU DRIVER! DONOVAN DOESN’T GO FOR THE COVER, AND STARTS LINING RIPLEY UP, WAITING FOR HIM TO RETURN TO A VERTICAL BASE!
Rich Russillo: The referee checks on Ripley, who is slowly returning to his feet. BUT WAIT A MINUTE!
James Peters: THAT’S… THATS RULER! RULER HAS HOPPED UP ON THE APRON, AND DONOVAN DUKE SENSES SOMETHING IS UP! DUKE TURNS AROUND- BLACK MIST! RULER CAUGHT DONOVAN WITH BLACK MIST!
Persephone: YESSS!!
Rich Russillo: RULER DROPS OFF THE APRON, AND DONOVAN DUKE IS BLINDED! RIPLEY REALIZES THIS, AND PUSHES PAST THE REFEREE, WHO DIDNT SEE A THING! DONOVAN WANDERS INTO YOU’LL FLOAT TOO! SUPERKICK CONNECTS, AND RIPLEY MAKES THE COVER, OBSCURING THE BLACK MIST ON DONOVAN’S FACE!
ONNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
TWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
THHHHHHHHHRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
(DING! DING! DING!)
Bella Braxton: HERE’S YOUR WINNER…JACK RIPLEY!
(‘Bounce Back’ by Big Sean plays, and Jack Ripley rises to his feet, conflicted over the victory as he gets his hand raised by the referee, who doesn’t pick up on the mist as Donovan Duke rolls out of the ring, and leans up against the apron, trying to get the mist out of his eyes. Meanwhile, Ruler is stood on the rampway, proud of his handiwork.)
James Peters: Well, Jack Ripley doesn’t seem very happy with the victory-
Persephone: I am!
James Peters: Well, we know that. :wow: But that isn’t the way Ripley wanted to beat Donovan Duke, I’m sure of it. However, at the end of the day, he saw an opportunity, and a win is a win.
Rich Russillo: Yeah, but a huge assist goes to Ruler, who comes out of nowhere with that devastating black mist. He must be sending a message to one of his opponents at Bloodsport early on!
James Peters: But remember, actions have consequences. Donovan Duke will recover from that black mist, and once he does, Ruler better be ready to fend him off.
(Jack Ripley poses on the middle rope, and Ruler stares down Duke, who is still trying to get that mist out of his eyes as the camera fades elsewhere.)
(Commercial promoting Pain for Pride 16. Relive the end of season 16 and the biggest show of 2023, all on Disney+!)
(Eventually, the Voltage broadcast begins to fade back to the ringside area. We have a shot from the hardcam, directly facing the ring – the yellow Voltage apron at the bottom of the screen and the crowd in the distance at the top – slightly panning out at a slow pace. The ring, however, isn’t sported for matches, or even segments. It is fully decorated. Firstly, the mat is coated in a red, velvet rug from corner, to corner, to corner, to corner. Pillars are hung up in the ring, with framed photographs nailed up. Alongside it is what appears to be a trophy locker, inside are numerous replica titles. The EAW World Championship, both the older pre-2020 design, and the current one. The EAW World Heavyweight Championship. The EAW National Elite Championship, the previous design. The EAW New Breed Championship, also the previous design. Alongside all of these is a perfectly shaped, uncreased couch, that looks brand new. No hairs, no dust. Spotless. Eventually, over the speaker system, we hear a familiar voice.)
Bella Braxton: Ladies and Gentlemen… Persephone!
(The crowd would groan, as the camera pans over to the commentary desk.)
Persephone: Welp. It’s time for the greatest moment in wrestling history, guys! Well, outside of Rexy’s big World Title wins that is.
(Perspephone smiles, as she stands up while everyone else groans. We see that she’s sporting a very fancy looking dress, most likely very expensive. She reaches down and grabs some perfume, spraying it on herself. She then begins to walk to the ring, in a very sultry style, before making her way up the ring steps. One by one, she makes her way to the ring, making her way onto the apron, before slowly entering the ring over the bottom rope. With a large smirk on her face, perhaps the happiest she’s ever been in the past two years, Persephone makes her way to the center of the ring, a microphone in hand, admiring all of what’s in the ring.)
Persephone: Wow… I can’t believe this is happening…
(Persephone smiles, as her eyes close. Tears begin to form on her face.)
Persephone: https://media.tenor.com/G29yCD9dKsoAAAAC/one-piece-rayleigh.gif
(Persephone is elated, crying tears of joy! It’s true! It’s really happening!)
Persephone: This may just be the greatest moment of my life. Obviously, there’s something great about sitting at ringside, and commentating over these really unbearable…y good matches, waiting til the Rex McAllister match kicks on. Then, of course, his victory! It makes me feel soooooo wet. Butterflies running in my stomach. With all the tears and nerves of course! Watching all of these outstanding moments truly is special, and it really is honorable being able to call these matches myself! But tonight… tonight is a different night. Tonight is special. Tonight is… THE GREATEST NIGHT IN THE HISTORY OF PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING!!! GOD DAMN IT, REX MCALLISTER IS BACK, FULL TIME, ON THE VOLTAGE ROSTER!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🤤😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊!!!!
(The crowd, while no doubt absolutely excited for the return of one of the greatest talents EAW has ever seen, can’t help but be weirded out, and even laughing at Persephone. Persephone would be the type to make fun of Ronan Malosi for what he’s doing with Andre Walker, yet Ronan pales in comparison to Persephone when it comes to Rex. She is the epitome of a fangirl. It wouldn’t be surprising if her room at home was covered with Rex McAllister photos.)
Persephone: This is such a great night for me, and because of this, I made sure that I made it special. I could have just brought him out, shook his hand, and welcomed him like any of those unappreciative dorks backstage, but I couldn’t do that. Not with Rexy. Not with Rexy… He deserved something special! So, I organized everything that’s in this ring! I made sure that it was all special, it was all great for Rex because it is what he DESERVES! So… let me take you on a tour!
(Persephone walks up to the trophy case…)
Persephone: Inside of this trophy case is every single title Rexy has ever won… God, they all looked good around his waist. And now… we’ll see it again!!!!!
(Persephone stares at the trophy case, placing her hand on it…)
Persephone: Next…
(She walks up to the pillars. The camera begins to zoom in on the framed photos. They’re all of Rex’s victories and best moments. Rex winning the EAW World Championship at Grand Rampage, 2018. Rex walking into Pain For Pride Festival with the title. Rex defeating Andrea Valentine at Pain For Pride XIII, defending it against the likes of Myles, etc. All of Rex’s biggest moments, framed – personally – by Persephone.)
Persephone: Wow… just… just wow! These are all sentimental for me. I just had to frame them. It’s… glorious…
(Persephone smirks…)
Persephone: Now, I really want Rex to come out here. I know he’s itching to get out here and hear the crowd, but I just have… one more thing!
(Persephone points to the titantron, as the yellow Voltage graphics disappear, fading out to black. Eventually…)
(‘My Heart Will Go On’ by Celine Dion plays through the entrance speakers, as a compilation of Rex McAllister clips begin to play on the titantron. The crowd watches on in confusion, as Persephone watches on in awe, as numerous Rex clips pop up on the video. Of course, there’s your usual clips – the ones you’d expect, his wins, his big moves – but slid in there are also clips of Rex posing on the top rope, removing his shirts or jackets, a lot of shirtless clips. There’s a rosey tint to it, with hearts overlaying on the side. Eventually, it all comes to an end, as Persephone smiles in the ring.)
Persephone: Just marvelous… fantastic! The greatest EAW has ever seen, Voltage has ever seen, I have ever seen… what a video!! Oh, I just can’t hold it in…
(Persephone takes a deep breath…)
Persephone: Ladies and Gentlemen… ‘THE LIONHEART’… ‘THE ELITIST’… ‘THE REX MASTER’… TWO TIME EAW WORLD CHAMPION… ONE TIME EAW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION… 2020 GRAND RAMPAGE WINNER… REXXXXXXXX MCCCAAAALLLIIIISSSTEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!
James Peters: Wow. That’s the most enthusiastic and loudest I’ve ever seen her.
(Moments later, ‘Stronger (salü remix)’ by The Score begins to blare through the speaker system, and immediately, the crowd who were waiting in much anticipation would instantly come unglued. The cheers would be deafening because, while we have seen Rex numerous times as of late, this is the moment where we know Rex is back FULLY. And, due to that fact, the reaction is extremely loud. Persephone is on the verge of tears, as the entire audience from Providence, Rhode Island would be on their feet, cheering, blowing their voice boxes to give Rex McAllister an extremely warm welcome. Seconds later, Rex McAllister would begin to step out through the curtains. Wearing a Raven Roberts T-Shirt, blue jeans and black tennis shoes, Rex would stand at the top of the ramp, a smirk on his face, embracing this moment wholly.)
James Peters: Despite that… “party” from Persephone, I have to admit; this feels right. Persephone might not be the most normal when it comes to Rex, but God damn it, she has great taste. Having Rex gone for almost two whole seasons, making very rare appearances, it felt like there was a hole in EAW. Of course, the industry moves on, we can handle even the biggest of losses, but those losses are still felt regardless of the fact, and having Rex officially back on the Voltage roster is an entirely different feeling; a great one at that.
Rich Russillo: I can’t help but agree! Rex McAllister was a huge part of Voltage in 2020 and prior, and now the fact he is officially returning, it is perfect. Rex IS Voltage, through and through, and while Persephone should be focusing on me rather than Rex, Rex is great and has earned everything he’s achieved in his career! A legend in his own right, no doubt about it!
(Rex McAllister would begin to make his way to the bottom of the ramp, before he turns and heads to the side of the ring opposing the hard cam. He grabs the ring post, and swings around, before sliding up onto the apron. Standing tall, he enters the ring, before making his way to the corner. He first climbs the turnbuckles, posing on the top rope, though afterwards he steps down, and grabs a microphone. He makes his way to the center of the ring, where he meets Persephone, who is holding two glasses of champagne. Rex looks a little confused, a smile is on his face, but it’s a more awkward one. Persephone hands him a glass…)
Persephone: (off-mic) There you go! 😀
Rex McAllister: (off-mic) …Thanks. 😅
(Rex places the glass down on the couch arm, as his theme song fades out. He eventually raises a microphone to his lips.)
Rex McAllister: This is… uh, ahaha… different.
(Rex clears his voice. Persephone notices his T-Shirt. Her eyes immediately drift up to meet his face, staying AWAY from the shirt.)
Rex McAllister: This is definitely not what I expected upon my return, but nonetheless, I am thankful. My return to EAW didn’t exactly go the way I planned, but a few losses never hurt me, as it’s not who I am. It’s just a modicum of frustration to me, a small drop in the bucket that, ultimately, is filled up by the passion I have for this. It’s like an itch, realistically. You scratch it, and rather than it fading away, it just comes back stronger than ever. Nigh impossible to remove, though it feels good in that moment. That is competition, and I am always itching to get back to it. I spent time away from true, full-time, active competition, but that isn’t reflective of how I see this industry, nor EAW. It could be. If I were anyone else, I absolutely could be one of those people content with sitting on the couch, observing, not taking in the full juice and the pulp that comes with it, not embracing it at all. With what I’ve accomplished, the legacy I have, I wouldn’t exactly blame anyone for having that mindset. But for me? I look forward to seeing what comes next. I look forward to living, week-in-week-out, on the road and in the ring once more. It’s where I thrive the best.
Rex McAllister: Now, I do need to add; Pain For Pride didn’t play out the way I had expected. Honestly, I didn’t expect to compete at Pain For Pride, especially not against Daryl, but it called for it and thus I did. Competing at Pain For Pride was something else, and it added more flame to the spark that was already forming. The spark that led to this. The spark that led to me, in this ring, on Voltage once more. I know that match didn’t end in the ideal result, though that is just how things are, and it’s an entirely new season. Moving on is what’s best for me, what’s best for my career; a loss such as that isn’t something I need to pick my brain at. Could I? Absolutely. But I won’t. Such as my loss to Chris Elite. Congratulations go out to him. Wholeheartedly, I am just excited for THIS season. To start, and end, an entire season once more, for the first time since Season 13. It has been quite a while, but I’m ready to get back into this. I’m ready to be the best in this industry. I’m ready to be the absolute best EAW has to offer. A true Elitist. That’s the promise everybody needed, right? It’s the only one that matters, in my honest opinion.
(The crowd would cheer, as Persephone smiles, taking a sip of her champagne, perhaps drinking it too fast due to the moment of the situation.)
Rex McAllister: EAW is entirely different. When I was competing full time last, the people who weren’t at the top, the people who were fresh faces, or just underneath the glass ceiling, knocking at my feet, they’re the ones who are now essentially my peers, and it excites me. Everyone is better, the people I faced before, and those in the same position as those people I faced before. Those looking to break through the glass ceiling; they get more and more promising as days go by. That excites me. That is something I would love to get my hands on. That is a scene I would love to test myself against-
(However, as Rex continues to speak through the microphone, facing the hardcam, getting the crowd excited for what’s to come – ‘Blood, Milk & Sky’ by White Zombie would begin to play through the speaker system, as the crowd would roar. This is a familiar song for Rex, he knows this all too well, as at numerous points in 2021, he was an enemy of New Eden, and by proxy, Minerva. He knows this song, and he knows what the woman of whom the theme is an anthem to is capable of – not just anyone is capable of beating the woman he married. Rex nods his head, as he slowly turns it to face the stage, where Minerva is making her way out. A microphone in hand, Minerva walks out of the curtains with a smirk on her face – fresh off what could very well be the biggest victory of her career. She makes her way down the ramp, slowly climbing onto the apron…)
Persephone: https://media.tenor.com/iB14Mr1K-ggAAAAd/the-batman-the-riddler.gif
(Minerva steps through the ropes, as Rex nods his head – allowing her into the ring, to which, Minerva does appreciate. She walks into the ring, and stands toe-to-toe with Rex, despite the clear height advantage going to Rex, Minerva does not look unnatural stood across from him whatsoever, which even a new viewer would be able to recognize. Her theme fades out, as she raises her microphone.)
Minerva: I’m not shocked by the crowd reaction you just got, Rex. That may be a surprising thing for you to hear, especially given it is kicking off what I have to say to you; but it shall be acknowledged. It has to be. It isn’t surprising to see so many unhesitant to give you the flowers you know you’ve earned the minute you came back with a full-time contract, because I am acutely aware of what you are capable of and what you’ve accomplished. I’ve been on this roster for many, many years. It’d be foolish of me not to give you those props. For years, you were the gold standard of this brand. You were the name everyone pointed to when we were asked “what defines Voltage” if not “what defines EAW in its entirety” – in many ways, you were the face of this place. The only way a Rex McAllister full-time return was going to be accepted, it was this way. The only way a Rex McAllister full-time run was going to be received, it was this way. It’s far from surprising; it’s a given. Roll out the red carpet, throw your flowers, scream from the top of your lungs for Voltage’s face…
Minerva: Or, would be face, had numerous more not stepped up to fill those shoes… and better. Because, as you said yourself; things have changed here. Drastically. For better, or for worse, I’ll let you decide that. As you slowed down your game, at times even coming to a full stop, names like myself were the ones to grab the ball, and speed up with it. That’s what you need to know. We’re familiar with one another. We’ve been in the same ring numerous times; I can tell by the look on your face that you know what I’m capable of. But as it stands? I am just those few steps above. I wanted to fill you in on that before you begin competing, once more, full time…
(Rex McAllister nods his head, showing that he is listening to and lingering on every word that Minerva lets out of her mouth, allowing her to finish her sentence.)
Rex McAllister: Well, Minerva; I know. I did say I was out of the loop, I’m not expecting anybody to just ignore that, but that only comes in the form of competition. It’d be relatively impossible to not know what you were accomplishing, Minerva, but I was fully tuned in. We’re one of the biggest entertainment companies in the world, and numerous times, you were at the peak of it. Even without gold around your waist, you arguably still are. Defeating the likes of Jamie O’Hara at Pain For Pride no less, it’s hardly an easy feat, yet you did so, of course I’m aware of what you’re capable of. It’s a hell of a lot. I know how talented you are. But, the vibe I get from you is as if you’re threatening me. Not in a violent sense, more in the “one-upping” sense, and I respect that. However, now that I’m back on Voltage, don’t expect that to just fly by me. I doubt you did, but to steal from you, it has to be said. I plan on working my way back to the top. Wherever I currently stand, I intend on clawing my way back up, and I intend to do so very soon. There won’t be any worries about me slowing down any time soon.
(Rex finishes his sentence, and Minerva smiles, even chuckling at what he has to say. She smirks, nodding her head.)
Minerva: I know, Rex. I’m glad. Truly. I expected something like this from you, and I’m glad it’s unfolding, yet I can’t color myself nervous. Saying and doing are two entirely different things, and intentions may not be met, at least not as quickly as you’re hoping them to. Because Voltage is hardly the same as it was three years ago when you were at the peak of it. Voltage is not the same as it was when Rex McAllister was Champion; the Voltage I have helped shape is entirely different from the one you are used to, and climbing to the top is going to be incredibly more difficult now that the structure of which you are trying to climb has been changed even down to the foundations. You were on top of Voltage for years. Now that’s me. I won’t be usurped from that position. You won’t find it so easy to get back to the top.
(Rex McAllister places a hand over the hand he’s holding his microphone in, his hands lowered down in front of him. He stares down Minerva, as he continues to nod at everything she’s saying. Minerva, herself, also stares down Rex, tension slowly brewing between them evidently, neither one of them backing down from the thrones they have just placed in front of one another. No signs of any true “victory” in this encounter, almost as if it were chess pieces being lined up, staring one another down, the best of the best eye-to-eye.)
James Peters: :eyes: 👀
Rich Russillo: 👀 👀
(Rex and Minerva continue to stare one another down in the center of the ring, holding their ground no matter what. It’d be the perfect time for one to leave, but with what they said to one another, it may not even be possible. They both stand their ground. They both refuse to leave. A true challenge, not just in words, but with their physical language also. The camera lingers on this shot, before eventually, it fades out.)
(EAW logo buzzes.)
