(RECAP – The words ‘SEASON 14’ appear on screen in a large, bold font for a brief moment until ‘FINALE’ slowly fades beneath it. The video proceeds to cut to a series of still images from all three days of Pain For Pride 14 of Showdown’s former roster. It first shows Ronan Malosi being defeated by Ryan Wilson to win the vacant New Breed Championship before spilling into a myriad of various undesirable and forgettable moments for Ronan that occurred throughout the rest of the event. The images cut to a pile of shots of the victors, such as Jack Ripley standing tall over Theron Nikolas, Andrea Valentine being victorious over her former Beating Hearts allies, and Xavier Williams and Harlow Reichert winning the Unified Tag Team Championships from IDOL-GUN. After a brief pause on this pile, the images transition to Justin Windgate and Jon Kelton falling short in their aspirations to win the Cash In The Vault briefcase, before fading to Bronson Daniels defeating MITSUBACHI to retain the Interwire Championship and Dr. Bethany Blue defeating Candice Blair and Ashley Flores to retain her Specialists Championship before fading to black. Finally, a long tunnel of images lined left and right showing the Answers World Championship match between Kassidy Heart and Jamie O’Hara slowly fade into the void, culminating in the King tapping the Ace out and one final, poignant clip plays in slow motion of the King standing tall, one arm held high, the other clutched to her chest with the Answers World Championship wrapped around her waist as pyrotechnics explode above and behind her before fading to black for good)
(Slowly the words ‘SEASON 15’ appear in the same large, bold font before fading away)
(‘Brick Wall’ by A Day To Remember hits as the Saturday Night Showdown graphic loop plays. It cuts to an overview of the AT&T Center in San Antonio Texas as blue and white pyrotechnics light up the stage in a series of memorising patterns before several final bursts of pyro almost render the stage hidden. Through the smoke haze remaining, a large number of bright lights shine through illuminating the venue as the crowd goes wild for the beginning of the show. For the first time in eighteen months, Showdown is live in front of a capacity crowd. The camera continues to fade between various shots of the live audience)
Deadprez: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, WE WELCOME YOU TO A NEW SEASON, A NEW ERA FOR SATURDAY NIGHT SHOWDOWN. ELITE ANSWERS WRESTLING AND THE BLUE BRAND ARE BACK ON THE ROAD AFTER A YEAR AND A HALF OF BEING MOSTLY LOCKED AWAY FROM THE LEGION OF FANS THAT HAVE SOLD OUT NOT JUST TONIGHT’S SHOW HERE IN SAN ANTONIO TEXAS, BUT SHOWS RIGHT ACROSS THE COMING WEEKS AND MONTHS. AND WE BEGIN HERE TONIGHT WITH AN INCREDIBLE MAIN EVENT!
(The camera fades to a front on view of the Showdown announce team of Deadprez, Eve and Gavin Kirkland, the latter who looks less than happy about the beginning of the new season compared to his fellow colleagues)
Eve: The fallout from Pain For Pride headlines our show as the Answers World Champion Kassidy Heart faces the Hardcore Champion, the man who defeated her husband just two weeks ago, Adam Lucas, in a huge Champion vs Champion match! Plus we will hear from Impact after his loss to Xander Payne and Cameron Ella Ava making her return to Showdown for the first time since last year’s Grand Rampage event! AND many of Showdown’s draft picks will be in action throughout the night!
Gavin Kirland: SHUT UP WITH YOUR OPTIMISM. I’M SURROUNDED BY FOURTEEN THOUSAND PEOPLE AND YET I ONLY WANT ONE! ONE PERSON! I WANT MY ACE BACK ON SATURDAY NIGHTS, EVE. I JUST WANT HIM BACK COMPLETELY :mjcry:
Eve: It’s all going to be okay, little guy. I mean, think of all the new people you can become weirdly obsessed with to the point of complete and utter perversion that’s borderline harassment. This is a new season, a new beginning for you too…mostly to seek help…immediately.
Gavin Kirkland: Excuse me? I’m suffering and all you can do is…
(The camera focuses in on Deadprez as a rambling Gavin Kirkland’s microphone is lowered)
Deadprez: And we have the perfect way to kick off this incredible evening with Showdown’s General Manager Hurricane Hawk standing by in the center of the ring!
(The camera fades from the broadcast position to an overview of the AT&T Center before fading once more to a straight-on view of Hurricane Hawk standing in the middle of the ring. The crowd roars with cheers as Hawk beams with a smile)
Hurricane Hawk: Before I begin tonight speaking about my brand and what I hope we will achieve in the next twelve months, allow me to first say welcome back to the fourteen thousand fans here tonight in San Antonio and the tens of thousands of fans who will sell out arenas right across the country as not just Showdown but Elite Answers Wrestling as a whole returns to the road. It has been an exhausting and at times emotionally draining eighteen months enduring the countless restrictions of the pandemic but we have finally reached that light at the end of the tunnel that seemed so distant for so long as everything returns to normal.
(The vocal, sold out crowd rise to their feet to applaud)

(Hawk’s smile widens at the response but eventually motions for them to settle as he continues addressing the fans)
Hurricane Hawk: Season 15 presents a true beginning for Showdown. For the longest time the blue brand was synonymous with the very best wrestling this company had, it was the place for all Elitists wanted to come to in order to prove themselves as the best above so many of their peers and it feels as if we have fallen away from that high, high standard. It was my goal, my determination to ensure that Showdown once again becomes the premiere destination, that it once again stands at the very top as the best product this company has. And the new season provides a chance for a clean slate, a reset of sorts. To redefine the way in which we operate, to redefine how one person can go from their beginnings to the pinnacle of this industry. This change has been a long time coming and from this week forward there will no longer be any stagnation for my brand. The standard for success has never been so high, the expectation I have for my Elitists is one that has not been seen. There won’t be an acceptance of mediocrity nor will it be lawless. In turn, many of the young, emerging Elitists will shine as beacons of the future, some will continue to rise and place themselves on the verge of becoming remembered forever, and for some they will cement their legacies for good. All because this place will push them to be better, this place will push them to find new ways to grow.
(Hawk takes a moment to pause and the crowd reacts with a clap ringing out the AT&T Center)
Hurricane Hawk: Now I might be biased but I firmly believe that Showdown left last week’s annual draft with the very best roster anyone could have imagined. We managed to retain some brilliant, outstanding Elitists such as our Answers World Champion Kassidy Heart and our Specialists Champion, Dr. Bethany Blue and Theron Nikolas. And we made some stellar additions to the brand with the Hardcore Champion, Adam Lucas! Cameron Ella Ava! Ahren Fournier! Impact! Lethal Consequences! The Showdown brand is brimming with hungry, determined talent ready to establish, re-establish and maintain their place at the very top of the brand, to be recognised and praised as the best. Not simply on Saturday nights, but across EAW as a whole. From the likes of Amir Yusuf and Ayu Megumi through to our Champions, to become the premiere destination for wrestling in this company, it begins by having the premiere roster. And this intent on re-establishing Showdown at the top begins right away and in just a few short weeks Showdown has the distinct pleasure of hosting the very first major event of this new season with Midsummer Massacre and I plan on ensuring that everyone understands just what to expect from Showdown in Season 15. The Answers World, Hardcore and Specialists Championships will all be defended however, we need contenders. So I’m happy to announce that next week, live from Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas, Showdown will be headlined by two Number One Contendership matches.
(Once again, the audience responds with an applause for the General Manager’s words regarding his roster; a slight cheer erupts in favour of the stacked roster and next week’s announcements)
Hurricane Hawk: The challenger to face the Hardcore Champion, Adam Lucas, will be a little less certain. I will watch with a keen eye over many of the matches here tonight and pick two Elitists who prove themselves to be more than deserving to face Adam at Midsummer Massacre. However, for King Kass’ Answers World Championship, the matter is slightly different. Immediately following last week’s draft I had a plethora of the names that I mentioned just a moment ago call me to state their intent on becoming the first challenger to Kassidy Heart’s Answers World Championship at Midsummer Massacre. Many of them made strong cases, however, as far as I was concerned I already had the right contenders in mind and I feel there is no better way to reinforce the new beginnings nature of a new season than to showcase revival and growth. So, allow me to introduce the two men that will square off in next week’s main event to determine the number one contender–
(‘Howl of the Departed’ by Nobuo Uematsu cuts Hurricane Hawk off as the crowd immediately recognises the music of Limmy Monaghan and begins to disapprove with a loud, vocal boo. After a moment Limmy steps onto the stage, well dressed and embracing the reaction. A wide grin on his face can’t be washed off as he heads towards the ring)
Deadprez: His shortcoming in the Cash In The Vault match and the dissolving of Insurgency made the final night of Pain For Pride a night that Limmy Monaghan would rather forget however of all the names that I heard whispered heading into the draft last week, it was Limmy’s that I heard being mentioned as the apple of Hurricane Hawk’s eye for Season 15.
Eve: And I’m going to back our General Manager up on that one to say this is one of the steals of the entire draft! No matter how Pain For Pride went for him, Insurgency overshadowed just how far Limmy Monaghan has come in the last six months and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him standing in a Showdown right in twelve months time as the Answers World Champion– Perhaps even sooner!
Gavin Kirland: I will take literally anyone who gets rid of Kassidy Heart. I don’t care if he’s some former Proud Boy or whatever they were, for goodness sake even someone who calls themselves ‘The Monarch’, PLEASE! ANYONE!
(Limmy takes a spare microphone and settles in the center of the ring, standing almost uncomfortably close to Hawk who doesn’t move an inch himself)
Limmy Monaghan: I’m sorry, Hawk but correct me if I’m wrong, you didn’t really mention my name there, did you? I’m sure it’s just a mistake and there’s nothing more to it, however please, let’s not make the same mistake again. You want to talk about new beginnings, new eras, new starts? Then look no further than Limmy Monaghan to be the shining example of what you’re looking for. For the last six months I have had to shoulder the burden, the humiliation of associating myself with someone who only held me down beneath their own selfish intentions. I’m glad Insurgency is and I’m going to go as far to say that without his woeful attempt of ‘leadership’, I would be standing here before you all with the Cash In The Vault briefcase and it leaves me a little disappointed that Jake and I have found ourselves on different brands because I would love nothing more than to achieve all that I intend to achieve at his expense Alas, that isn’t the case. Still, coming to Showdown is that fresh start that I have needed and without that weight around my ankles I can finally move towards becoming the one thing that I’m destined to become: World Champion. There’s nothing that can be done to stop me. My ascension in this company is going to take a giant leap forward. It doesn’t who it is that tries to stop in my way, not even Kassidy herself can stop me. No matter what she did at Pain For Pride, no matter how she managed to tap out Jamie O’Hara, I will meet her in this ring at Midsummer Massacre and I will become the Answers World Champion.
(The unamused crowd jeers as Limmy’s arrogant smile grows)
Limmy Monaghan: And that includes next week. So whoever it is, Hawk, it’s best that you don’t raise your hopes up that they can stand against me.
(A less an impressed Hawk tries to maintain his smile but can’t help but shake his head)
Hurricane Hawk: Look, I can’t stress it enough how excited I am to have a rising star like you on Showdown this season. Of all the young talent with bright futures ahead of them in this company, there’s none that I feel more confident in believing they can reach that absolute top than you. But no matter how much I might value you, Limmy, I would advise you not to interrupt me next time. At the end of the day there are plenty of others that I will handpick ahead of you should you piss me off. However, you are indeed one half of next week’s Answers World Championship contenders match. And your opponent?
(The crowd murmurs in anticipation as the hushed silence that hangs in the air raises the tension)
(‘Ambitionz az a Ridah’ by Tupac hits and the crowd immediately erupts for TLA. The roar of an engine roars as a heavy black curtain behind the stage lifts to reveal a stunning blue lowrider entering the AT&T Center with the one and only TLA behind the wheel, only furthering the crowd’s cheers. The camera cuts to Limmy and Hawk standing in the ring; Hawk claps and encourages the fans as a disinterested and unamused Limmy stares on, groaning at the display. After a moment, TLA exits the car but remains slightly distant of the fans lining the ramp as he makes his way to the ring)
Eve: ONE OF SHOWDOWN’S BEST PICKS OF THE 2021 DRAFT, TLA IS BACK ON THE BLUE BRAND AND TO SAY THESE PEOPLE ARE EXCITED IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT. THE BADDEST HOMBRE ON THE PLANET IS AS WILDLY POPULAR AS EVER BEFORE AND HE’S ONCE AGAIN KNOCKING ON THE DOOR OF GLORY!
Gavin Kirland: I’ve been pitching it all week to our General Manager that we should have a special episode of Showdown live from The Poon Palace but I don’t think he’s considered it. Just imagine all the beautiful mamacitas that would be there; :ohlawd: my mind is racing over a different kind of glory, Eve!!!
Eve: :comeagain:
Deadprez: Nearly two years ago TLA realised the dream of his long tenured career in this industry by defeating Impact to become the EAW World Heavyweight Champion on a night that will forever be remembered for the raw emotion of that moment. And he could once again find himself standing firmly at the top of the proverbial mountain once more should he get by Limmy Monaghan next week in a massive, massive match!
Eve: The last few months contending with New Eden over on Voltage led to a disappointing defeat at Pain For Pride, losing his National Elite Championship to Minerva, but coming to Showdown presents a new pathway for him to revitalise his claims of being one of the very best in the world today!
(‘Ambitionz az a Ridah’ dies down leaving only the chaotic, uplifting chant of the crowd)

TLA: Gracias a todos. Aye, it’s Season 15 and yo boi TLA has arrived back on Showdown for the first time in two years. And ever since I left here, I’ve been that top dawg running shows, el jefe de filas on Dynasty when I finally, after so long hustlin’ to get there, became campeón del mundo, World Champion. Ain’t nobody is ever gonna take that away from me, no matter what they say, no matter their hatin, no matter how they dismiss it and no matter how much time they’ve spent tryna tear me down. Pequeñas perras, New Eden, might have taken my National Elite Championship away, stripped it right from my grasp, but shit, that’s in the past, innit? Yeah I’m sour about that shit but I’m not gonna let it have a second thought in cabeza de ya niño. That’s where next week is gonna come into it, where imma once again confirm my place, as next challenger, the next el aspirante, to the Answers World Champion. And you, Limmy? (The crowd cheers, TLA’s face widens with a cheeky grin. Limmy begins to crackle having heard his opponent for next week speak)
Limmy Monaghan: Hang on. Hang on for just a second. You? You’re my opponent? This guy? :mjlol2:
(TLA shrugs as Limmy finds himself in hysterics over who Hurricane Hawk has selected as his opponent next week)
Limmy Monaghan: I’m sorry to break it to you Hawk but my opinion of you just went down the sink if this is the person you think is worth even being in the ring with me next week, let alone capable of getting past me. I’m fine with beating someone for what should be given to me, we all make mistakes after all, but going through a has-been like TLA who really should never have been anything in the first place is quite frankly a waste of my time and everyone else’s time. But on the other hand? On the other hand, beating someone like you shouldn’t be all too difficult at all now, will it? If you’re the ‘revival’ that was mentioned then allow me to swiftly keep your World Championship aspirations dead and kill any notion that anyone’s ‘revival’ at my expense will be quickly put to an end. I’m going to look forward to going through to Midsummer Massacre to become the new Answers World Champion.

Deadprez: LIMMY GOES TO STRIKE WITH A RIGHT FIST BUT TLA BLOCKS IT!! AND HE IMMEDIATELY FLOORS THE MONARCH WITH A RIGHT FIST OF HIS OWN!! LIMMY STUMBLES TO THE CANVAS, NOT EXPECTING A RETALIATION AS TLA SPREADS HIS ARMS, WELCOMING MORE! THE TENSION WAS BEGINNING TO REACH PALPABLE LEVELS AND THIS CAPACITY CROWD IS ON THEIR FEET AS LIMMY CAN’T BELIEVE HE WAS JUST STRUCK DOWN!
(TLA steps towards Limmy Monaghan but Hurricane Hawk steps in the way to prevent the matter from escalating further. Frustrated, Limmy drags himself out of the ring and backs away from the ring much to the pleasure of the crowd. ‘Ambitionz az a Ridah’ by Tupac hits as the crowd’s enthusiastic support for TLA grows even louder)
Deadprez: Limmy Monaghan might have a bright future heading into this new season, but if he thinks he will so easily and so casually walk into the main event of Midsummer Massacre to face Kassidy Heart then he has another thing coming. The passion, the fire ignited in TLA is reaching the same heights that took him to the World Heavyweight Championship and that might just incinerate every hope and dream Monaghan has.
Eve: What an opening to the new era of Showdown! Two Championship matches for Midsummer Massacre will be determined next week and TLA vs Limmy Monaghan is a must see main event! No matter who wins, Kassidy Heart will absolutely have her hands full in just three short weeks!
Gavin Kirland: Imagine TLA becoming the Answers World Champion 😍 The Poon Palace will be hosting an even greater celebration and I would be right there with him celebrating the downfall of such an awful woman. I can think of no better way to cement Showdown’s new era than having one of the most popular Elitists of all time once again be the face of his brand.
(Limmy and TLA continue to jaw back and forth as Limmy backs away on the ramp. The crowd’s cheers are maintained as Hawk nods his head, knowing full well he just made the perfect match for next week. Eventually, the camera fades to black)
(The camera fades back to an overview of the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. The excited fans are feeling electrified after the opening of the show. A few seconds pass before it fades to a shot of Gina Romano standing in the ring)

(“Something in the Way” by Nirvana plays throughout the arena as the newcomer stands in the corner waiting for his opponent.)
Deadprez: Welcome to Season fifteen of EAW and Showdown and what a year we are going to have with the stars that were drafted by Hurricane Hawk! This is one of the newcomers here, The Ronin.
Gavin Kirkland: The Punisher.
Deadprez: Whatever bruh, he’s here and ready to face another newcomer in Ayu Megumi.
Eve: A spitfire from Japan and we will see her small frame here against this very intimidating looking man.
(As “Something in the Way” dies down it is replaced by “Warning” by Band-Maid, the crowd begins to cheer as Ayu Megumi runs out and points to the ring.)
Gina Romano: His opponent hails from Okinawa, Japan! Weighing in at 115 pounds! She is “THE AMAZING GIRL” AYU MEGUMI!!!!!
(Ayu runs into the ring, slides in and hopes a few times in a windmill motion before looking out at the cheers from the crowd and waving.)
Gavin Kirkland: I love these little Japanese girls, they are….
Eve: … don’t Gavin, just don’t. This is the first Showdown of Season 15, can we just stop for a second, yes we know, she is cute, adorable, we get it!
Gavin Kirkland: I was going to say athletic, but since you mentioned those other things, well we can definitely go out for Sushi tonight and eat a crunchy roll.
Deadprez: This is going to be a long season, Eve.
Eve: Tell me about it.
(Ayu is checked by the referee as she smiles when suddenly The Ronin runs from across and attacks Ayu from behind, the referee quickly rings for the bell to start the match.)

Deadprez: THE RONIN ALL OVER AYU EARLY! HE WANTS TO FINISH THIS FAST AND WHAT CLUBBING FOREARMS BY THIS MAN! HE GRABS AYU AND WHIPS HER AGAINST THE TURNBUCKLE! THE RONIN CHARGES IN AND…. SACRED ARROW BY AYU! WHAT A KICK AND THE RONIN FALLS TO THE MATS!
Gavin Kirkland: Did you see the athleticism, how her little frame and those glutes just jumped in the air and….
Eve: AND she landed such a great roundhouse kick to the face! The Ronin is stunned and wait…. AYU HOPPED ON THE TOP ROPE! THE LEAP! SHE LANDED RIGHT ON TOP OF THE RONIN AND SHE GOES FOR THE COVER!!!!

(“Warning” by Band-Maid starts to play throughout the arena to the shock of the Texas crowd. They start to cheer as Ayu rolls off The Ronin who quickly gets out of the ring. She smiles and waves to the crowd, before bowing, holding her neck after the assault.)
Deadprez: DAMN DAWG! TALK ABOUT RECORD TIME! THAT WAS UNDER A MINUTE! WHAT AN IMPRESSIVE! WHAT A DEBUT! Ayu Megumi is one to watch for and she is going to be a great addition to the roster here on Showdown!
Eve: Talk about impressive, she really is! What an incredible debut and she opened up some eyes tonight, she is definitely one to keep on the radar, an incredible athlete with a bright future here!
Gavin Kirkland: I guess we don’t need to worry about whether it is The Punisher of The Ronin. So let’s talk about Ayu here….

Eve: Well, Strawberry Steve put up a good fight tonight, but in the end, Jon Kelton comes out on top in what was a great match to showcase exactly why he remains a threat here in EAW.
Deadprez: Yeah, Cash in the Vault didn’t work out the way he was hoping, and I don’t think Kelton’s gonna whine about it, from the looks of things, Kelton’s gonna use it as fuel this season, which can spell out danger for multiple members of this STACKED Showdown roster.
(Kelton heads to the back with Londyn while Steve is seen slumped against the barricade following the loss as the camera fades to black.)

(The camera fades into view from ringside, as it transitions to the backstage area; outside of a door reading “Hurricane Hawk” on a sign prepped up on the wood. Clearly having faded to the Showdown General Manager’s office, panning inside of the office just a few short seconds later. The camera zooms in on a nametag, resting on the desk, that reads “GENERAL MANAGER Hurricana Hawk”, before it then pans up, showing Hurricane Hawk himself, sitting at his desk, as it seems the camera had caught him mid-conversation, before he makes an “ahem” like noise, looking towards the camera.)
Hurricane Hawk: It’s been almost two whole weeks since Pain For Pride fourteen came to a close, and there’s been a rollercoaster of emotions. We’ve seen things end, begin, and journeys continue; that’s obviously what makes it an attraction, and of course, what makes that event hold the weight that it does. It’s been crazy knowing it’s about to be an event closer to two decades than it is it’s own birth, and year by year it only gets better with the talent progressing in this company. To me? I’m more than happy. Because the Showdown roster, my roster, all performed at their best. Kassidy Heart and Jamie O’Hara put on what could possibly be Match of The Year. Bronson Daniels successfully defended his Interwire Championship, and with multiple great performances, Showdown ended our season with a bang.
Hurricane Hawk: But despite that, we weren’t able to keep all of those Elitists in the draft. Some remained, but things changed, as per usual. However, one of those Champions were a standout to me. Someone who managed to retain her Championship at PFP…with that being said: Thanks for coming here today! Of course, I’m happy with the entire roster I have, but considering what you did at Pain For Pride? I’m more than happy to have you back for another season, especially considering you managed to bring the Championship along with you. I’m sure it’ll do great to separate the Showdown brand from the rest this season.
???: Well I’m glad you’ll have me.
(The camera then pans away from Hurricane Hawk, turning to the side, as we then see Dr. Bethany Blue leaning back on a chair, with the EAW Specialists Championship over her shoulder after successfully defending it two weeks ago at Pain For Pride XIV against Ashley Flores and Candice Blair, coming out on top in a Triple Threat match, then being drafted to the blue brand. Sitting up, straightening her posture, Bethany would remove the already-strapped Specialists Championship from over her shoulder, before placing it on the desk, giving the center plate a little bit of a clean, putting it on view for herself and Hawk to see; making it the center of conversation, just like she clearly wants the prestigious championship to be, as the champion.)
Dr. Bethany Blue: I’m glad I can be the first Specialists Champion of the Season, and representing Showdown with it will really show the talent this brand possesses, I won’t back down from any challenge, and I’ll be Champion for a *long*, long time. I worked a long time to get this, and I aim to show what it was all for.
Hurricane Hawk: And of course, you should. Being Champion shouldn’t result with anything short of the greatest moments of your career, and for you to be representing the brand I run whilst doing so? That makes it great for the both of us, for both of our roles. You represent everything you stand for so greatly, and that’s going to rub off on Showdown, and I’m more than certain it’s going to be appreciated by everyone at home, and out there in the AT&T Center, and as one of the best draft picks *for* Showdown, I would expect nothing else.
Dr. Bethany Blue: That’s correct, but I’m more-so concerned about the division I help to improve overall. Of course, on Showdown, there’s been arrivals such as Harper Lee, Ayu Megumi, I’d even clash it out with Cameron Ella Ava. Showdown on it’s own has enough to last me a long time, but I encourage anyone in EAW as a whole who wishes to step foot into the Doctor’s Office to come along! If anyone from Voltage wants a shot? If anyone from Dynasty wants a shot? The Doctor will welcome them *all* in a heartbeat. Because in Season 15, I’m looking to see new patients in my office, and I welcome them all. As I said, I’m gonna cure the Specialists Division by being the best champion this brand- this *title* has ever seen-

Veena then slowly approaches Hurricane Hawk, trying to communicate, only to be cut off before a word even slips from her mouth.)

Gavin Kirkland: We are going to be seeing the newcomer, Amir Yusuf in action. So far, he’s managed to win a ‘Rising Star of the Week’ award, but I’ve heard people talking about the potential that this young man possesses and with this being a new season and all, I do think that it’s the perfect time to showcase yourself and possibly get yourself in championship contention.
Eve: Amir Yusuf made it to the final six in the 24/7 Battle Royal, which was won by Voltage’s Donovan Duke. But, his opponent tonight is nothing like the Elitists that he’s faced in his past few matches. He’s a former World Champion, who will stop at nothing to achieve whatever his heart desires.
Deadprez: Amir Yusuf believes that anything can happen and I admire that enthusiasm from him. It’s going to be difficult to knock off Theron Nikolas, but I look forward to seeing this man try.
(“Paint It Black” by Hidden Citizens replaces “Elevate” as the crowd begins to boo the living hell out of Theron Nikolas who walks out with confidence. He takes his sweet time, getting to the ring. He is not in the rush to begin this match and it’s obvious with each step he takes.)
Gina Romano: INTRODUCING HIS OPPONENT…FROM EDMONTON, ALBERTA, CANADA…WEIGHING IN 224 POUNDS… HE IS THE ‘GOD EMPEROR’…THERON NIKOLAS!!!!!!
Gavin Kirkland: Theron Nikolas fell short in defeating Jack Ripley at Pain for Pride, but the result really didn’t matter to Theron. The result of his match at Pain for Pride didn’t matter to him and by looking at his face, he really doesn’t feel like he has anything to prove going into this match.
Eve: He doesn’t think of Amir Yusuf as anything special and he’s put him in the same category as anyone that is able to provide him a fight. It was interesting that Theron provided the newcomer with as much time to get acquainted.
Deadprez: Honestly, I think it just allowed for Theron Nikolas to get inside the head of Amir Yusuf , but it should be interesting to see if this match doesn’t last long or if Amir does bring the fight to the former World Champion.

Now, it seems like Theron is going to accept Amir’s challenge — BUT DELIVERS A KICK TO THE STOMACH OF AMIR! IT SEEMED LIKE THERON WAS TRICKING THE NEWCOMER BEFORE THROWING AN UPPERCUT HIS WAY, MAKING AMIR STUMBLE BACK! HE GETS AMIR BY HIS WRIST BEFORE WHIPPING HIM TOWARDS THE HORIZONTAL SET OF ROPES AS AMIR FLIES OFF OF THEM! Theron looks to connect with a clothesline, but Amir ducks the clothesline before rebounding himself off the other set of horizontal ropes, hitting a flying forearm to the former Answers World Champion!

Amir Yusuf looks to knock Theron down with another forearm, but Theron lifts up the newcomer off his feet and throws him over his head, BUT AMIR LANDS ON HIS FEET BEFORE WRAPPING HIS ARMS OVER THE WAIST OF THE FORMER WORLD CHAMPION, PUSHING HIM TOWARDS THE HORIZONTAL ROPES AND GOING FOR THE O’CONNOR ROLL-UP ON THERON! IS HE GOING TO GET A QUICK VICTORY OVER THE FORMER WORLD CHAMPION??!

Gavin Kirkland: The ‘God Emperor’ rolls himself out of the roll-up attempt. He quickly finds himself on his feet as Amir Yusuf follows him! Theron Nikolas knocks the newcomer down with a superkick as that sends him to a knee! Theron pulls Amir closer before lifting him up and connecting with a standard vertical suplex! Instead of going for the cover, he picks up Amir by his chin before shoving him towards one of the corners! Theron begins to stomp on the ribs of Amir as Amir slowly falls to a seated position at the corner! Theron places his boot on the face of the newcomer and holds it there!
Referee: ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! FIVE! GET YOUR FOOT OFF OF HIM, THERON!
Eve: Theron Nikolas gets his boot off the face of Amir Yusuf . He raises his hands so that the referee knows that he’s not planning to do any funny business. Amir clutches his hands on each side of the ropes, hoping that it will help him up to his feet. At the first sign of Amir getting to his feet, Theron resumes his attack by connecting with a running forearm smash the corner. This causes Amir to stumble out of the corner, but Theron connects with a vertical suplex. Theron seems to be feeling good about himself as he kips up, but I don’t think that the EAW Universe is a big fan of Theron at the moment.
Deadprez: Is anyone even a fan of Theron Nikolas?!??!
Gavin Kirkland: Imagine not being a fan of the ‘God Emperor,’ DP! These people have no taste at times! Now, you see that Theron is looking down on Amir Yusuf , but that seemed to be the same energy that Theron had on his opponent all week. I don’t think that Theron is anticipating for this match to go on for long; however, we’ve heard from Amir that he is going to do everything that he can to make the impossible possible. Theron picks up Amir with a fistful of his hair. He throws Amir to the corner before Theron takes a couple of steps back before charging towards Amir with a running uppercut! This sends Amir forward, but Theron shoves Amir back into the corner before going for some turnbuckle thrusts at the corner. With each turnbuckle thrusts, you can see that Theron is adding that much more pain to the ribs of the newcomer!
Eve: Theron Nikolas takes a step back, but manages to maintain a hold of Amir Yusuf’s wrist, pulling him closer in the process before nailing him with a huge knee to the ribs of Amir. This sends Amir down to one knee! Now, you see that Theron is trying to get possession of Amir Yusuf’s other wrist! Theron seems to find himself in total control of this match as he throws a giant kick to the face of Amir, but it wasn’t enough to knock the newcomer, but Theron smirks as he delivers another kick. This kick seems to be harsher than the last one! It only seems to stumble Amir back, but Amir still finds himself to one knee! He has that intense look on his face like he’s asking for Theron to hit him harder! I don’t think that you need to tell Theron twice about that! Theron delivers a giant knee strike to the face of Amir as that knocks him to his back! Theron is in the perfect position for the cover as he looks to end this match as soon as possible!

Deadprez: Amir Yusuf kicks out! Theron Nikolas shakes his head as he feels like it’s going to take a lot more than a simple knee to the face to put down Amir. If it means that Theron is going to need to tap into that brutal side of himself to put down Amir, he is going to do that! He stands himself up and takes a step back, allowing for his opponent to get back to his feet! Amir finds himself in a bit of a crawling position before he adjusts to the situation that he is in and slowly picks himself to his feet! Theron looks like he’s trying to help Amir find himself to his feet, but Amir shoves Theron away from him before finding a way back to his feet! Theron rushes towards Amir, looking to hit him with a boot to the side of Amir’s face, but he sidesteps when Amir turns himself around, finding his way back to his feet in the process!
Gavin Kirkland: Amir Yusuf finds himself standing behind Theron Nikolas before connecting with a snap dragon suplex! But, Theron rolls himself to his knees, but Amir races towards the former World Champion with a shining wizard to the back of his skull! It only seems to send him forward, but he finds himself sitting straight up on his knees as Amir follows that up with a sliding forearm to the face! Amir quickly goes for the cover!

Theron rebounds himself off the ropes, looking to turn the match back into his favor with a clothesline, but Amir ducks the clothesline before using the vertical set of ropes to do a back hamstring before nailing the former Answers World Champion with a stunner! The stunner sends Theron Nikolas back! Theron falls back towards the ropes as Amir follows that up with a huge knee strike to the face of the ‘God Emperor!’ Amir picks up Theron by his hair before turning him around and connecting with a neckbreaker on him! You can see that Theron is clutching the back of his neck as Amir finds himself to his feet!
Deadprez: Amir Yusuf is back to his feet as Theron Nikolas slowly tries to get himself to his feet, BUT AMIR TAKES HIM DOWN WITH AN ENZUGURI AS HE STUMBLES ONTO HIS BACK! AMIR PICKS UP THERON OFF HIS FEET AND CONNECTS WITH A KNEECAP BRAINBUSTER ON HIM! AMIR GETS HIMSELF TO HIS FEET AND IT SEEMS LIKE HE’S GOING FOR THE ‘AYC,’ THE ROLLING CUTTER ON THERON! IS HE REALLY GOING TO PUT AWAY THERON NIKOLAS?!?!?
Gavin Kirkland: NO! THERON NIKOLAS PUSHES AMIR YUSUF AWAY FROM HIM BEFORE ROLLING HIMSELF OUT OF THE RING! HE IS LOOKING BACK AT THE NEWCOMER WITH A SMIRK ON HIS FACE AS HE TAPS THE SIDE OF HIS HEAD, GESTURING THAT HE WAS ONE STEP AHEAD OF AMIR! AMIR IS TELLING THERON TO GET INSIDE THE RING, BUT WHO THE HELL IS HE TO TELL THE ‘GOD EMPEROR’ WHAT TO DO? I think that this is an excellent strategy from Theron, who knew that his chances of winning the match were slipping from him! He saw one tiny opening, took advantage of it and that’s why he’s at ringside! I think it’s smart of the former Answers World Champion!
Eve: But, I don’t think that Amir Yusuf could care less on whether it was smart enough of Theron Nikolas to take himself out of the equation! HE LAUNCHES HIMSELF THROUGH THE MIDDLE ROPE, CONNECTING WITH A SUICIDE DIVE ON THERON! THERON GETS SENT CRASHING TOWARDS THE FRONT OF OUR ANNOUNCER’S TABLE AS AMIR RISES BACK TO HIS FEET! THE EAW UNIVERSE IS APPLAUDING AMIR ON HIS EFFORTS GOING INTO THIS MATCH, BUT IT SEEMS LIKE AMIR ISN’T DONE YET! AMIR IS GESTURING FOR THERON TO GET TO HIS FEET, BUT AT THE FIRST SIGN OF THERON GETTING HIMSELF TO HIS FEET, AMIR DELIVERS A NASTY-LOOKING SUPERKICK! That sends Theron stumbling back! Amir gets a good hold of Theron before connecting with a tornado DDT as he uses the steel ring post to springboard himself and connect the move on Theron!
Deadprez: Amir Yusuf gets Theron Nikolas and rolls himself back inside the ring! Then, we see that Amir is heading towards the top rope! What in the world is he planning to do?
Gavin Kirkland: I think that he’s planning to go for a frog slap, DP! Amir Yusuf from the top rope! Frog splash on Theron Nikolas!
Eve: NOBODY’S HOME! THERON NIKOLAS ROLLS HIMSELF OUT OF THE WAY AS AMIR YUSUF CRASHES DOWN TO THE MAT! MAN, I THINK THAT HE’S RIBS ARE COMPLETELY MESSED UP! I don’t think that Theron was anticipating for this match to go on for as long as it has, but Amir Yusuf has been holding on there! He’s being everyone that he could hang in the ring with someone like Theron Nikolas! Theron gets Amir up to his feet before throwing him through the middle rope and out of the ring. THERON ROLLS HIMSELF OUT OF THE RING BEFORE GETTING AMIR AND BATTERY RAMMING HIM AGAINST THE BARRICADE! THEN, HE GETS AMIR AND HE BATTERY RAMS HIM AGAINST THE EDGE OF THE APRON! THEN, HE BATTERY RAMS HIM AGAINST THE APRON AND THEN, ONTO THE EDGE OF THE APRON AGAIN! IT’S THOSE TWO PARTICULAR ACTIONS BACK-AND-FORTH AS I AM TOTALLY FEELING FOR AMIR’S LOWER BACK AT THE MOMENT! Theron pauses as he looks down at Amir before looking up at the fans who are booing the living hell out of this man! But, I don’t think that Theron Nikolas gives a damn about the praise of the fans! He extends his arms out in confidence before throwing a few choice words to the crowd before shifting his focus back to Amir!
Eve: Theron Nikolas gets Amir Yusuf by his wrist before whipping him ribs first against the edge of the apron! Theron had been targeting the ribs in some sort of way and it seems like he’s continuing his form of punishment on the newcomer! Theron gets Amir before hoisting him up and dropping him ribs first onto the barricade! You can really see the look of pain on Amir Yusuf as he’s clutching his ribs! Theron gets Amir before rolling him back inside the ring! Theron rolls himself back inside the ring before delivering a dropkick to the back of Amir’s head as he collapses forward! Theron goes for the cover! Is this going to be enough to put Amir Yusuf down?!?

Gavin Kirkland: I appreciate the fight that Amir Yusuf is bringing to the former World Champion, but this is only going to make Theron Nikolas more brutal! Theron goes for a rest hold on Amir! Theron drops down to the knee as he wrenches in the rest hold, applying more pressure to the hold! Amir is trying to shove Theron away from him, but Theron seems to have a pretty good grasp of that resthold. I think that he would hate to release the hold! Meanwhile, Amir has tried to hold himself going up against Theron, but you can also see the struggle on his face, but he keeps pushing himself forward! I think that’s one of the more important things that he is telling himself deep inside his mind!
Eve: I think that Amir Yusuf refusing to stay down or kneel for Theron Nikolas is going to tell a lot of what we can expect from this man if he decides to keep this Showdown experience going for himself! Theron releases the resthold, but Amir drops to one knee as Theron begins to slap the back of Amir’s head! Oh god, it seems like he’s trying to instigate something or he’s just nothing more than a fucking cunt. But, I like to think that he’s just being a cunt at the moment. I think that he’s confident about his chances in this match-up! He knows that Amir Yusuf doesn’t possess the level of experience that Theron has! Theron’s best shot is trying to see if Amir makes any rookie mistakes at some point in this match-up!
Deadprez: Theron Nikolas slaps the back of Amir Yusuf’s head again! I don’t think that this is the best approach for Theron to go with! Does he not think that someone like Amir won’t fight back and defend himself? Now, we see Theron throwing a sloppy kick to the back of Amir’s skull. The kick has no impact at all, but it’s almost like Theron is kicking a dead body to see if it’s actually alive. At least, that’s what it looks like to me, but try looking closely at the facial expression on Amir’s face! It seems like he’s kinda aware of the game that Theron is trying to play with him!

Instead, Theron manages to lift Amir off his feet and connect with a back body drop, but Amir manages to land on his feet as Theron turns around, but Amir lands a pele kick as that makes Theron stumble back! Amir follows that up with a dropkick as that sends Theron back into the ropes! Theron recollects himself to his feet, but Amir drops him with another dropkick as Theron rolls himself out of the ring and recovers on the apron! Gavin Kirkland: It was a valiant effort from the newcomer, who really did well going up against Theron Nikolas, but Theron showing the result that he’s hoping that the rest of his season will go and that’s with a victory —
Eve: WHAT IN THE HELL?!?!?
Deadprez: THERON NIKOLAS BLASTS AMIR YUSUF’S HEAD WITH A KNEE STRIKE, TAKING HIM DOWN AGAIN! WHAT IN THE HELL WAS THAT FOR??!?!
Gavin Kirkland: I have no idea, but Theron Nikolas begins to throw some punches at Amir Yusuf! Do you guys really think that Theron Nikolas gives a damn about anyone else, but himself? This man was Mr. DEDEDE’s golden child once upon a time! He is the longest-reigning Answers World Champion in EAW history! He didn’t do that by thinking of others before himself! He did all of that by being selfish and doing what he needs to do to get ahead in this company!
Eve: Theron got his victory! Is he not satisfied with that??!
Deadprez: Perhaps, this has something to do with Theron Nikolas believing that he is the most important thing on Showdown. He is someone who stands heads and shoulders above the competition on this brand. There’s a part of him that doesn’t believe that it should have taken long to put Amir away, but he wants to use Amir to send a message to everyone on Showdown that he is looking to reclaim what he lost back at Pain for Pride 12.
Gavin Kirkland: THERON NIKOLAS PICKS UP AMIR YUSUF AND IT SEEMS LIKE WE’RE GOING TO SEE ANOTHER ‘GOD REQUIEM’ —
(“Tougher Colder Killer” by El-P, Killer Mike, and Despot blasts through the speakers as Theron Nikolas drops Amir Yusuf as he turns his attention towards the stage as Lethal Consequences stands on the ramp. His eyes looking intensely to the ‘God Emperor.’)
Eve: Oh god, Lethal Consequences has his eyes set on Theron Nikolas and he’s making his way towards the ring!
(At the first sign of Lethal Consequences stepping inside the ring, Theron Nikolas rolls himself out of the ring. Theron forms a huge grin on his face as he stares down LC. LC has an intense look on his face as Theron almost feels like he dodged a bullet there, but he begins to back up the ramp.)
Deadprez: Man, these are just some of the combustible elements that Showdown has this season! We are spoiled this season!
Gavin Kirkland: The level of talent that we have this season trumps everything that we’ve had in a while. It makes me excited to see what Lethal Consequences will be able to do in his new scenery. That, plus Theron Nikolas, has his own agenda and is looking to find himself on top of the mountain again, such similar ambitions shared between both men. Not only that, but you have the ever-lasting potential of Amir Yusuf and I think that we’re going to have a fantastic season ahead!

(‘ULTRAnumb’ by Blue Stahli starts to play throughout the arena as she receives a loud reception as the crowd cheers. Cameron walks out in a pair of jeans, pumps and a blouse, smiling before walking up to Kyra, where they shake hands.)
Kyra Phillips: I think that by the reaction of this crowd, they are happy to see you back on Showdown!
(Cameron looks out as they stand and cheer, she smirks again raising her arms as the cheers get louder, turning back to Kyra.)
Kyra Phillips: First off, I must ask about Pain for Pride, it was one of the greatest FPV’s the EAW has ever put out and the fans are still talking about your entrance, the match between you and Rex McAllister and it being in Los Angeles, your hometown.
Cameron Ella Ava: Kyra, first off, I want to say that it is great being in Texas in front of the best wrestling fans in the world, the EAW Universe.
(The crowd roars.)
Cameron Ella Ava: Now, Pain for Pride was amazing, it was three nights that I will never forget, some of it was great, some of it was not, but what I am going to do is concentrate on what I did. Kyra, it was an incredible feeling to compete on the biggest stage there is, before my family and friends, in my hometown of Los Angeles, I couldn’t have asked for anything written more perfectly. Just to be there in front of my family and friends, the energy, the return and you know what else? Rex McAllister, now I heard he is taking some time off for some nagging injuries and sort, he earned it, but I will say that he was the perfect opponent on that night, but…. But Kyra I must brag a little, to get that huge win over a Hall of Fame calibre wrestler like that who last year won the EAW World Championship at the same event, won the Grand Rampage? Yeah, it made it all the better.
Kyra Phillips: I think everyone was super excited and then came the draft, Hurricane Hawk did not hesitate to bring you back to Showdown, so I must ask, how does it feel to be back on the blue brand?
(Cameron looks out into the crowd for a moment as they cheer, she has a look of conviction on her face, taking a deep breath and then turning to Kyra.)
Cameron Ella Ava: Well Kyra, I think it’s a mixed bag of emotions for me right now. My final moments as a member of the Showdown brand last time were some of the most horrific and painful moments of not just my career, but life. It took its toll, being away wasn’t just to be a mother but also to clear my head, it really was part of my time here that I look back and not have a positive outlook about it. However, this is a new season, a new beginning, I am BACK to my old stomping grounds which makes me really optimistic about being back on Friday nights.
Kyra Phillips: And your intentions?
Cameron Ella Ava: Ah… there is the question I have been waiting for. This is a second chance for me to do what I started then. See, my intentions on Showdown are….
(Suddenly she is interrupted by a very familiar voice…)

(Cameron rolls her eyes and turns to see Ahren Fournier walking out decked out in a suit, with a smirk on his face holding a mic, the crowd boos as he walks right up to Cameron, glancing over at Kyra.)

Ahren Fournier: Hi Cameron.
Cameron Ella Ava: Ahre….
Ahren Fournier: Let me cut you off right there bih, for I have a few things to say myself! I was listening to you talking in the back coming to the realization no one wants to listen to a WOAT like Cameron Ella Ava. I mean here you are, the less interesting part of Jamie’s life and instead everyone is excited to see Hathaway’s GOATfather Ahren Fournier! Right Texas!?
(The crowd boos as Ahren laughs a little…)

Ahren Fournier: I know, it’s pretty and let’s not sugar-coat it, alright since he is gone off to take some time away and probably retire knowing he will forever suck, but Terrance Chambers would never get this for himself, the ultimate failure, but hey who cares, he is the past. See bih, this is the season where Le GOAT will once again be on top in all of my fabulous glory. You’re old news Cameron, nobody cares about you or anything you have done. I mean, sure, you’ll forever be associated with my BFF Jamie O’Hara, but that will be your legacy, while I continue to build mine after last season. You should have stayed home and taken care of Hathaway, leave the wrestling to the GOAT’s like moi, nobody cares about a has-been, and just remember, how it all ended for you last time. (Ahren quickly cuts her off….)

(The show returns from commercial with a grand overview of the AT&T Center. The excited fans buzz in excitement awaiting for the next part of the show. Their excitement grows to cheers as ‘il vento d’oro’ by Yugo Kanno plays throughout the arena’s PA system and MITSUBACHI steps out onto the stage. He maintains his distance coming down the ramp but appeals to the fans along the aisle)
Gina Romano: THE FOLLOWING CONTEST IS SCHEDULED FOR ONE FALL…

Deadprez: At Pain For Pride MITSUBACHI put in a valiant effort to try and dethrone the former Showdown Interwire Champion Bronson Daniels but unfortunately found himself falling just a bit too short as Daniels managed to retain his Championship. However, the new season presents MITSUBACHI an opportunity to once again put himself on the path towards finally winning Championship gold here in EAW.
Gavin Kirkland: There’s plenty of reasons to be optimistic about the potential growth of MITSUBACHI over the next twelve months! His determination can’t be questioned but here tonight he might have his hands full against one of my personal favourites to have joined the brand in 2021 and who I would LOVE to see beat Kassidy Heart!
Eve: That’s literally everyone…
Gavin Kirkland: Yeah so? What’s your point?
(As Gavin and Eve begin to bicker, they’re cut off by ‘Tougher Colder Killer’ by El-P, Killer Mike, and Despot. The crowd’s favourable cheers for MITSUBACHI turn to harsh cold jeers as Lethal Consequences spends little time waiting and immediately steps out through the curtain and heads towards the ring)
Gina Romano: AND HIS OPPONENT! FROM OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA! WEIGHING IN AT TWO HUNDRED AND THIRTY POUNDS! HE IS ‘THE INEVITABLE’!! HE IS…LLLEEETTTHHHAAALLL CCCOOONNNNSSSSEEEQQQUUUEEENNNCCCEEESSSSS!!!!
Deadprez: As fixated as you may be on your desire to see our Answers World Champion crumble as soon as possible you absolutely hit the nail on the head. Hurricane Hawk showed immense pride and satisfaction in the roster he had drafted for this season and one of the names he mentioned as the former World Heavyweight Champion, Lethal Consequences! One of the few remaining legends of an old era for this company, LC scaled to the apex of this company once again last season and could be looking to get back there now that he has moved on from Veena Adams and Charlie Marr.
Eve: LC might already have a target in his sights after the tension between himself and Theron not too long ago here tonight. Season 15 is kicking off big already with so many big names setting their focus on Championship glory or their fellow Elitists hoping to knock them out of the way.
Gavin Kirkland: 🤤 I’m just imagining Lethal Consequences hitting his LCR on Kassidy Heart and it’s making me a little tight in the pants I’m not gonna lie.
(LC settles in the corner of the ring and begins to remove his jacket…however MITSUBACHI doesn’t wait and immediately races towards his opponent as the referee calls for the bell to begin the match)
(DING! DING! DING!)
Deadprez: IMMEDIATELY OUT OF THE GATE MITSUBACHI BLINDSIDES LC FROM THE GET GO AS HE BEGINS TO CLOBBER THE BACK OF THE VETERAN OVER AND OVER AGAIN WITH REPEATED FISTS! PUTTING THE DISAPPOINTMENT OF PAIN FOR PRIDE BEHIND HIM WITH EVERY BLOW TO THE SPINE OF HIS OPPONENT HERE RIGHT AWAY, NOT ALLOWING LC TO GET INTO THIS MATCH!
Eve: For MITSUBACHI Pain For Pride was a learning experience, a tremendous opportunity to grow and progress his career forward against a tremendous Interwire Champion but there’s no doubt that tonight being the start of a new season he’s going to take the opportunity to put that loss behind him with a massive, massive upset victory over a former World Champion and all round legend of this company in Lethal Consequences!
Deadprez: MITSUBACHI maintains the offense, going from those stiff, clobbering punches to repeated knees to the ribs! Trying to open up the older veteran and force him to switch his guard up but LC knows full well what the younger, less experienced MITSUBACHI is trying to do. LC fires back with a forearm that connects flush on the jaw, stunning MITSUBACHI’s momentum! It forces MITSUBACHI to stumble backwards and allows LC to get himself back on the right foot. He follows it up with a second and a third forearm being sent straight to the jaw– but MITSUBACHI ducks beneath the third! He floats around, wraps the arms and connects with a huge release German Suplex!
Gavin Kirkland: BUT LETHAL CONSEQUENCES LANDS ON HIS FEET! MITSUBACHI HARDLY REALISES IT AS HE TURNS, AND LC ALMOST DECAPITATES HIM WITH A MASSIVE LARIAT! ALL THAT EFFORT AND INTENT ON TRYING TO GAIN THE UPPER HAND STRAIGHT AWAY IN THIS CONTEST BY MITSUBACHI HAVE COME UNDONE IN AN INSTANT!
(A less than impressed Lethal Consequences shakes his head at his opponent’s efforts as he returns to standing over him)
Deadprez: It’s not hard to imagine that this is the reaction an older head like Lethal Consequences would have when someone like his opponent here tonight tries to take advantage of the opening bell the way MITSUBACHI did. And now LC begins to stomp away, targeting the ribs of MITSUBACHI who tries desperately to cover up but to no avail. Each boot being delivered forces him to switch up what he’s covering; his ribs, his arms, his back, his chest. MITSUBACHI can’t keep up as LC simply continues to lay in these unapologetic kicks and stomps across the body of his opponent.
Eve: LC drags MITSUBACHI to his feet and fires away with a backhand chop, lighting up the chest of his opponent as MITSUBACHI is backed up against the ropes. Lethal Consequences whips MITSUBACHI across the ring with an Irish Whip but MITSUBACHI manages to dig his feet into the canvas and promptly reverses it, now sending LC racing to the otherside! LC bounces off the ropes as MITSUBACHI ducks, looking for a back body drop! But LC telegraphed it perfectly and manages to catch himself.
Gavin Kirkland: :mjlol: He’s just waiting for MITSUBACHI to realise the mistake he’s made as LC stands over him with a cocky grin on his face. MITSUBACHI slowly rises his head up–
Eve: AND LC SLAPS THE TASTE RIGHT OUT OF HIS MOUTH! MITSUBACHI TRIES TO COVER UP ONCE AGAIN BUT ONCE AGAIN THE VICIOUS STRIKES OF THE VETERAN LIGHTS UP MITSUBACHI QUICKER THAN HE CAN REASONABLY TRY TO BLOCK! HE BACKS HIM UP INTO THE ROPES ONCE MORE AND AGAIN, LETHAL CONSEQUENCES LOOKS TO IRISH WHIP MITSUBACHI ACROSS THE RING! THIS TIME HE’S SUCCESSFUL AS MITSUBACHI GOES REELING TO THE OTHERSIDE–
Gavin Kirkland: LCR!! LCR!! HE MIGHT ALREADY KNOCK THE LIGHTS OF MITSUBACHI OUT RIGHT AWAY!
Deadprez: NO! MITSUBACHI DUCKS THE LCR, NARROWLY AVOIDING CALAMITY AS HE PIVOTS AND LEAPS TO THE SHOULDERS OF HIS OPPONENT! FRANKENSTEINER!! BUT LC COUNTERS! HE DROPS TO A KNEE AND HOISTS MITSUBACHI OFF THOSE SHOULDERS PUSHING HIM TOWARDS THE ROPES. LC BACKS AWAY AS MITSUBACHI BOUNCES BACK– ROLLING WHEEL KICK! CATCHES MITSUBACHI FLUSH ON THE FACE AND LC IMMEDIATELY DROPS INTO THE COVER!
Ref: OOOONNNNNNEEEEEEEE!!!!! TTTTWWWWW—
Eve: But MITSUBACHI won’t go down so easily and kicks out before the count of two! I think it’s to question the intentions of Lethal Consequences for Season 15 coming off the back of Pain For Pride and even earlier tonight after got involved with Theron Nikolas. But this is a man determined to get back a World Championship, to once again stand on top of the world and both he and Theron are on the same path, the same ultimate goal of re-establishing who they were at their peaks as World Champion only this time to do so even better.
Deadprez: And right here in this contest it’s all LC. It’s all ‘The Inevitable’. In complete control of his opponent. Despite the fiery outburst to start this match, it has all but been extinguished by LC. MITSUBACHI looks to get back to a vertical base, back to his feet but LC is there to meet him, once again teeing off on his opponent with several kicks, targeting the lower body of MITSUBACHI. Nearly each kick followed by a punch to the head as LC switches back and forth, between kicks and punches. MITSUBACHI finds himself at the mercy of Lethal Consequences and mercy isn’t what is being offered to him now or at any time.
Gavin Kirkland: BUT MITSUBACHI ISN’T GIVING UP! HE TRIES TO RALLY BACK WITH A KNEE TO LC THAT CAUGHT HIM OFF GUARD! LC stumbles away for just a brief moment but it’s enough of an opportunity for MITSUBACHI to try and will himself back into this contest! He follows it up and connects with a Calf Kick forcing LC to buckle down to the canvas on a single knee. The lowered position will do LC no favours here tonight as MITSUBACHI CONNECTS WITH A JUMPING KNEE DROP TO LC! LETHAL CONSEQUENCES BEING DRIVEN DOWN ONTO THE CANVAS AND THE DEADLY KNEE OF MITSUBACHI BEING DRIVEN RIGHT INTO THE SHOULDER! MITSUBACHI ROLLS HIM OVER AND INTO THE COVER! HE MIGHT HAVE IT HERE!

Eve: LC FLINGS THE SHOULDER UP OFF THE CANVAS TO BREAK THE PIN UP! MITSUBACHI can’t allow any frustrations either from tonight or two weeks ago seep into his mindset here tonight! He could score a massive win over someone who is a huge acquisition for Showdown this season and truly set himself up for success that one could argue would be certainly inevitable. And I think MITSUBACHI is well aware of that! He drags LC back to his feet and locks in the suplex position! He hoists Lethal Consequences up into the air! GOURDBUSTER!!!
Deadprez: LC COUNTERS! LC delivers a stern knee right to the skull as he’s being hoisted! The blunt blow immediately forces MITSUBACHI to drop LC back down to the canvas as MITSUBACHI comes reeling away. It’s evident that LC is still feeling the effects of the knee drop just moments ago, shaking feeling right into that left arm but he maintains his pressure AND FLOORS MITSUBACHI WITH A STEP-UP ENZUIGIRI! THE SLAP OF THE BOOT ECHOING THROUGHOUT THE AT&T CENTER AND BOTH MEN COLLAPSE TO THE CANVAS!
Gavin Kirkland: You have to feel for MITSUBACHI. Each time he finds himself on the verge of getting back into this match his momentum is stripped away in an instant by the wiser, more experienced Lethal Consequences. But this could and likely will be a massive learning experience for MITSUBACHI heading into this new season as he looks to perhaps put himself in line once again for a title opportunity! Even in defeat tonight, he could be one of the Elitists Hurricane Hawk is looking at to possibly face Adam Lucas at Midsummer Massacre!
Eve: Learning and moral victories might be for MITSUBACHI here tonight but for Lethal Consequences he isn’t interested in anything but victory itself over someone well beneath him. As it’s LC who rises to his feet first with MITSUBACHI well and truly lagging behind! LC drags MITSUBACHI to his feet and might just look to put this one away! BUT MITSUBACHI PUSHES THE ARMS OF HIS OPPONENT AWAY AND HE–

CHUCKLING AT THE IDEA OF THE YOUNGER MITSUBACHI REFUSING TO QUIT. LC TURNS AROUND AND PATS MITSUBACHI ON THE SHOULDER, KICKS HIM IN THE MIDSECTION AND CONNECTS WITH THE DEAD EXECUTIVE! THE STUNNER FLOORS MITSUBACHI!
Eve: AND LETHAL CONSEQUENCES ISN’T DONE THERE! HE TAKES BOTH LEGS OF HIS OPPONENT AND LOCKS THEM IN, TURNING MITSUBACHI AND DROPPING DOWN TO CINCH IN THE HEADLOCK! BLACKOUT IS LOCKED IN DEAD CENTER OF THE RING! MITSUBACHI HAS NOWHERE TO GO AND AS MUCH AS HE MIGHT NOT WANT TO QUIT, HE HAS NO CHOICE AND IMMEDIATELY TAPS OUT! LETHAL CONSEQUENCES WINS!

(‘Tougher Colder Killer’ by El-P, Killer Mike, and Despot hits much to the crowd’s displeasure as Lethal Consequences recognises no value in keeping MITSUBACHI locked into the Blackout submission and releases the hold. He swiftly gets to his feet to have his hand raised in victory by the referee)
Gina Romano: HERE IS YOUR WINNER…LLLEEETTTHHHAAALLL CCCOOONNNNSSSSEEEQQQUUUEEENNNCCCEEESSSSS!!!!
Deadprez: LC maintains his momentum coming out of Pain For Pride with a victory here tonight over MITSUBACHI and he did it with relative ease all things considered. Despite some valiant efforts to fight back into the contest and even take control for a brief moment, MITSUBACHI just didn’t have enough to contend with LC here tonight.
Eve: And after everything we saw earlier tonight, there is no doubt in my mind that somewhere backstage Theron Nikolas was keeping a close eye on this match. Both men have such similar objectives and we could see them collide anytime soon. But LC is showing that perhaps he’s a better man than Theron by not gunning after his opponent after the match, without feeling the need to make a greater point.

A calm, confident smirk feeling comfortable on the Showdown brand washes across his face as the camera fades to the back where Kyra Phillips is seen backstage in the EAW interview area, holding an EAW branded mic in hand while having a smile on her face.)

(The camera widens as a determined looking Malosi walks into frame, clearly focused on his match for later on as he finishes up taking his wrists, however, now turning his full attention to Kyra.)
Kyra Phillips: Ronan, at Pain for Pride, you were involved in a hellacious match with Ryan Wilson, the two of you putting each other through absolute hell, but in the end, Ryan walking out, not only victorious, but also the New Breed Champion. Thoughts on that?
Ronan Malosi: First of all, you’re asking me about Ryan Wilson when you should be giving me an apology for the way you acted towards me at Pain for Pride, but I digress. In regards to that match, I’ve made it perfectly clear that it was nothing more than a fluke. Ryan Wilson capitalized off my girlfriend’s incompetence, because she had the “wise idea” to climb a cage and leap off of it, yet she somehow missed her target. This is all Alissa’s fault, but you know what? I forgive her, because that’s what good boyfriends do. And while she may have cost me the New Breed Championship, it’s not all bad, because look around. I’m here on Showdown, and you know who isn’t? Ryan Wilson! He’s over the Voltage, the ‘B’ or the ‘C’ show, and to tell you the truth, he’s gonna get exposed. And while we’re on the topic of championships, believe me, I’m looking to win a heck of a lot more this season, and trust me, I will. Because being on Showdown, being away from Ryan Wilson is a blessing, because now I don’t have to carry that little leech on my back anymore.
Kyra Phillips: Well, that’s good to hear, but, Ronan, it seems like you’re gonna have a real uphill battle to climb this season in the eyes of many after the embarrassments you suffered at Pain for Pride, namely, during the Harper Lee and Sierra Bradford match.

Ronan Malosi: Wow, Kyra, I see what you’re trying to do here, you’re tryna get me out of this good mood I’m in, but it’s not gonna work. Because while, yeah, that moment was embarrassing, it’s gonna be forgotten, in fact, every single embarrassing thing that has happened to me last season is gonna be forgotten. Because we’re in season 15, and unlike some, I’m gonna take this as what it is, an opportunity to reinvent myself, and remove that stigma some have about me being a joke. Because look at me, I’m not a joke by any means, I’m 6-foot-8, I’m 280 pounds, I’m gifted in the ring, and I’m a dangerous man, a dangerous man who has no barriers he won’t cross in order to succeed. So, season 15, this isn’t just a new chapter, this is an entirely new book on the career of Ronan Malosi, because if you thought season 14 was breakout, you have no idea what season 15’s gonna be, which is better than breakout. Season 15 is gonna be monumental, and Showdown, it’s gonna be my own personal playground, especially after I beat TLA tonight, which has been a long time coming. Harper Lee: Ronan, hearing you optimistic about change puts a real smile on my face…just for how stupid it is! I mean, do you really think that people are gonna look at you in any other light than a 6-foot-8, 280 pound joke? I mean, you were literally everybody’s whipping boy last season, including my own at one point when I had to defend the Tag Titles against you and your other loser friend..or now enemy again, Ryan Wilson. And, Ronan, the sad part is: you have no one to blame but yourself for how everyone treats you, you allowed yourself to be put in this light, going all the way back to Pain for Pride 13 where you had the wise idea to interrupt the Hall of Famers, and what happened? You got beat up, and you got pissed on. And at this year’s Pain for Pride, you lost to Ryan Wilson of all people, the guy who’s literally been beaten by probably every elitist here! :mjlol: But tracing back to Ryan Wilson, you are aware that so many of your highs in this company depend on him, right? Harper Lee walks out onto the stage, wearing a T-Shirt she earned from her match with Sierra, before walking down the ramp.)
Eve: Unlike Ashley Flores, this woman was able to win at Pain For Pride, however, it ended up just as bad for her as it was for Ashley, as a whole lot managed to happen before the show was even over, including partners.
Gavin Kirkland: Which smart individual would turn on Harper Lee? That’s just… Virginity-loss suicide! Out of everyone you could’ve picked, it was them?
Deadprez: Well tonight Harper could very much recover from that tiny bit of damage suffered at Pain For Pride, and if that’s the case, Season 15 could definitely be her event! Only time will tell, and if time favors Harper Lee? Then whatever she chooses to do will definitely be great for her.

She slams her head right into the middle turnbuckle, dropping Ashley to her knees, before sprinting across the ring towards the turnbuckles at the far distance!

Pushing herself off the ring mat, Harper Lee holds onto her jaw, before the referee raises her arm.)
Gavin Kirkland: WOW! I’m not sure whether I wanted Ashley or Harper to win, but regardless, it doesn’t matter, because in the end, we all win. We’re all the winners for witnessing all of that!

Deadprez: :wow: Well, of course, Harper Lee managed to come out on top tonight on her first night on Saturday Night Showdown, and what a way to start her debut! She technically won at Pain For Pride, and despite her partner turning on her, she WAS successful, just like tonight!
Eve: Of course, there’s nothing other than that you can take away from this match unless it isn’t regarding Harper Lee! Harper Lee managed to show out these past few weeks, and despite the crowd not being along with it, that needs to be recognized! Harper Lee coming out on top, so congratulations to her!
Gavin Kirkland: Of course, a huge congratulations to Harper Lee! What a great way to spend the past however-long it was! The only question is; where does Harper Lee go from here? They lost the tag titles, she lost a friend, but through this she was successful, so regardless, there’s always looking up for both of these two!

(Showdown fades to backstage where Limmy Monaghan sits on a red velvet loveseat couch. He has a pondering look on his face as he looks ahead, but it’s not clear what he’s looking ahead of, but you can tell that he’s been in deep thought for a while.)
Limmy Monaghan: My journey last season was something that I hoped went another way. Despite winning the PURE Championship, I felt like I didn’t get the results that I wanted. I’ve always been a results-based kind of guy. It’s never been about what the match stipulation is or who’s going to be my opponent or anything like that in the grand scheme of things, but it’s either win or loss for me. People may not be too worried about the results and they may be able to convince people to focus on their performances and their performances alone, but I look at results and that’s what I focus on. When it comes to focusing on my goals, I aim to get the result that I want and that’s a win. Losing doesn’t sit well with me and as someone who envisions themselves, sitting on a throne to their kingdom, losing isn’t an option. When it came to the idea of winning Cash in the Vault, I saw it as an opportunity to propel myself to new heights. The ability to control your own destiny is something that could intrigue the simplest man in this company to put their bodies on the line to get the results that they wanted. When I talk about wanting to get the results that I want, I look back during my time in Insurgency last season on Dynasty. When it comes to the whole experience of being part of Insurgency, it had its own pros and cons. When it comes to being part of a stable that could be beneficial to you and your goals, anyone would accept the opportunity in a heartbeat, with zero questions asked. When Jake Smith provided me with the opportunity to spread his wisdom and knowledge, I thought that I could benefit from it. He was a former two-time PURE Champion, became one of the most must-see talents during his time on Showdown on Season 13 — getting more camera time than most of the talents on the show and I wanted all of that. I came into Insurgency with so much excitement for what it could do for me, but it ended up draining me of all of that.
(Limmy Monaghan adjusts himself on the loveseat couch before continuing on with his promo. Now, there were a lot of conflicting opinions that he had on Insurgency, but he’s trying to get the right words across.)
Limmy Monaghan: I’m not going to say that Insurgency was terrible because, for some time, it was beneficial for me; however, ever since Reckless Wiring, it only grew to become a drain on me. I had lost the PURE Championship and still, I felt like I couldn’t continue my rise while being held down in the Insurgency bubble. With Insurgency, we were men who had some things in common. We were underutilized and mistreated. Jake looked at me and saw himself — a man going through his series of tag teams, but had all the potential in the world to become a star. Jake looked at me and thought that I was nothing more than a lost kid who needed guidance and to get pointed in the right direction. With Insurgency, I thought it had the objective to become something great in EAW. In reality, we were ridiculed and failed to achieve any of its goals. No one was ever going to take a group ran by Jake Smith, of all people, seriously, but I decided to ignore all of the criticism and march forward; however, over time, I grew frustrated and my loss in Cash in the Vault is because of the embarrassment that Insurgency was.
(Limmy Monaghan pauses, letting the last sentence linger in the air. To talk negatively about a group that seemed to benefit him, it was shocking to hear a member from the group reference it as an ‘embarrassment.’ From how the exchange with Insurgency went at Pain for Pride, you somehow knew that this was coming from the tone of Limmy’s voice.)
Limmy Monaghan: I’m free from it; free from the embarrassment of failure, including Jake Smith, specifically. I did my best not to let the failures phase me. But after losing Cash in the Vault, it got the best of me. I stood in the back as Jake defeated a Hall of Famer in Tyler Parker. I watched Donovan win the 24/7 Battle Royal and I knew what people were going to say. They were going to refer to me as a lackey. They were going to refer to me as the lesser member of Insurgency and that couldn’t be further from the truth. I was a former PURE Champion and carried the PURE division on my back. I know that my reign had factors that it could not control, but I didn’t let it get the best of me. At the end of the day, I did my job and I did it fucking well. Cash in the Vault was supposed to be my moment. The briefcase should have been mine and losing the match? It struck a chord with me. Now, it wasn’t the be-all and end-all for me, but it was an opportunity to rid myself from Jake Smith’s shadow. It was an opportunity to showcase myself in the biggest stage of my career and come out on top. That was the result that I wanted and hoped for myself. Now that I’ve had two weeks to process Pain for Pride and my performance in the match, I’m more convinced than ever that this is just the beginning of my career and I will only continue to rise to the top.
(Limmy Monaghan pauses, letting his words linger in the air again before moving onto another subject. He sits himself forward as he looks at the camera as he’s talking to the audience, making sure that they get this last part.)
Limmy Monaghan: And my rise continues next week in my match against TLA. Now, I am going to be brutally honest, but I don’t have much regard or respect for TLA and what he’s done. The difference between him and I is that he’s held more championships and he’s had his moment of finally capturing the World Heavyweight Championship. Me? I’m still on the rise. I’m still working towards that goal and I refuse to allow the has-beens of this company to stand in the way of my inevitable success. With Insurgency no longer a thing, I am allowed to think of my success without getting in the way of Jake Smith and what he wants for himself. I don’t need to think about what’s next because I know what is next for me and that’s the Answers World Championship. Next week, I will defeat TLA. Then, at Midsummer Massacre, I will overthrow the King and install a new monarch with me firmly on the throne as the Answers World Champion.

Like earlier this evening, the revving of an engine is heard, the curtain rises to reveal TLA riding back into the arena in his blue lowrider. He makes his exit, playing it up to the audience who responds with even louder cheers as he heads towards the ring)

Deadprez: We opened tonight with the major announcement that next week TLA will face Limmy Monaghan in the main event to determine the number one contender to face Kassidy Heart at Midsummer Massacre and there the determination, the intent in the eyes and hanging on every word of one of Showdown’s top picks for the 2021 draft proves that he will give it everything he has in order to win that contendership.
Eve: Monaghan tried to strike TLA down but to no avail and I doubt that’s sitting all too pretty with the other possible contender to face Kassidy in just a few short weeks’ time. Somewhere backstage he’s going to be watching this match closely, whether to study or to look for a moment of opportunity to strike.
(As TLA settles in the ring, ‘Riding The Edge’ by Dimitri Leroy hits and it causes a quick, harsh 180 turn in the audience’s enjoyment. They begin to hurl significant boos towards Ronan Malosi who steps onto the stage, arms stretched out embracing the crowd loathing his arrival. Ronan maintains this, with a arrogant grin on his face as he heads to the ring)
Gina Romano: AND HIS OPPONENT! FROM LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA! WEIGHING IN AT TWO HUNDRED AND EIGHTY POUNDS! HE IS THE ‘HEIR OF HOT TAKES’…RRROOONNNAAANNN MMMAAALLLOOOSSSIII!!!!!
Gavin Kirkland: Everyone wants to talk about new beginnings and new starts and they all make these grand promises about change and yadda, yadda, yadda. This man actually believes he’s capable of changing :mjlol: He actually believes he’s able to make his future any different after being a laughing stock for just about his entire career.
Eve: We saw earlier tonight when Ronan addressed his desires for change that Harper Lee greatly disagreed with the very idea that he was capable of it. The history between those two throughout the last eight months is well known and Pain For Pride, the humiliation Ronan endured during Harper’s match with Sierra just reinforced her view that Ronan will never change.
Deadprez: Regardless of how someone may view Ronan, he has the opportunity here tonight against a former World Champion in TLA to prove her and many others wrong. A victory might not just put him well on his way to ensuring he lives up to his desires to taken more seriously as an Elitist here, being treated better other than a joke, but also place him firmly into the main event of next week’s episode of Showdown. It’s hard to believe, but imagine Kassidy Heart versus Ronan Malosi at Midsummer Massacre?!?

Deadprez: AND HERE WE GO! A match that has become more vital, more important and more noteworthy after all that we have witnessed here tonight. TLA being shot right into the main event of next week’s episode of Showdown with the chance to become the new number one contender to Kassidy Heart’s Answers World Championship, a victory here tonight would build plenty of momentum heading into that massive contest. Ronan Malosi on the other hand, tired of dealing with the constant humiliation and being treated as a joke, tonight could take a massive leap forward in writing that first page of a new book for his career. Both men step towards the center of the ring and lock up with a collar and elbow tie up! They jostle for control of the other and it’s Ronan who gets the advantage transitioning into a side headlock!
Eve: TLA backs himself onto the ropes and manages to shove Ronan away to break free form the side headlock! It sends Ronan racing across the ring but Ronan looks to maintain control of his offense to begin this match and drops TLA with a shoulder! Ronan grins, having floored his opponent and quickly heads towards the ropes. TLA rolls away, almost tripping Ronan up but his opponent manages to step over him and hits the opposite side! TLA leaps back to his feet and stuns Malosi with a thrusting side kick to the leg! It sweeps Ronan off his feet and sends him crashing to the canvas– AND TLA IMMEDIATELY ROLLS HIM UP FOR A PIN!

Gavin Kirkland: Ronan swiftly rolls out at the count of one, his focus and intent on proving those who doubt him wrong keeping him on the ball early on. Both men scramble to their feet but Ronan cuts TLA off with a boot to the midsection! It caught TLA off guard who drops to a knee for a second. But Ronan won’t let one of the Showdown’s best acquisitions for the season get off that easily, hoisting him up and driving him shoulder first into the corner before repeatedly driving the right shoulder into the ribs over and over again! The raw power advantage that Ronan has over TLA being exploited with every shoulder being viciously sunk into the stomach of his opponent. The wind is expelled from his body with each blow as Ronan feels in complete control at this very moment!
Eve: Ronan Malosi has come to Showdown here tonight, to start the new season with the desire to shut so many people up, to bury his undesirable and forgettable past and truly make the most of the winds of change that are blowing through the company at the moment. With the TLA tied up in the ropes the referee has no choice but to step in and force a break.
Ref: ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR!
Ronan Malosi: (No mic) I HAVE UNTIL FIVE.
Eve: :lupe: he has a point…
Deadprez: But Malosi won’t tempt the referee’s demands to avoid possibly getting disqualified and he immediately backs away from the corner! TLA slumps to the canvas but is immediately hoisted back to his feet by Ronan who clutches the wrist and sends him reeling across to the other corner! TLA collides, spine first, at such a force it forces the ring to shake and he once more drops to the canvas! Ronan drags him away from the corner, away from the ropes and drops into the cover.
Ref: OOONNNNEEEE!!!! TTTWWWO-
Gavin Kirkland: TLA KICKOUTS! It’s going to take plenty more to keep the former World Heavyweight Champion down and down for good but Ronan Malosi is keeping himself concentrated on getting the job done by any means necessary! Slowly rising to his feet, contemplating his next move to inflict further damage to his opponent in order to not just score an incredible upset that might put TLA’s spot in next week’s main event in jeopardy but also as we’ve mentioned, put himself on the right path towards being seen in a more favourable light this season.
Eve: We’ve already seen the imbalance of power and strength that exists between these two, even with TLA looking in tremendous physical condition, Ronan still has the advantage over La Pentera Sexual! As Ronan near effortlessly yanks TLA back to his feet, right into his arms– MALOSI TOSSES TLA ONTO HIS SHOULDERS AND DROPS HIM BACK DOWN TO THE CANVAS, ONCE AGAIN SHAKING THE RING ON IMPACT, WITH A SAMOAN DROP! AGAIN RONAN MAKES THE COVER!

Deadprez: And once again TLA powers out at the count of two to keep this match going! This time a slight bit of frustration begins to grow visible on the face of Ronan Malosi. He slams his hands on the canvas and it seems to be cathartic for him as he inhales a deep breath and exhales, becoming calmer in the process. If he wants to change the way people view him, if he wants to alter the perception surrounding Ronan Malosi going forward, he has to at least prove that he can compete at the highest level, that he’s able to remain calm and poised throughout any contest. Victory or defeat, it doesn’t matter, they’re all important, vital steps for Ronan to undertake to realise that ambition.
Eve: I completely agree, Deadprez and I think Ronan is well aware of that. Pain For Pride was the tipping point and the draft, becoming far removed from Ryan Wilson was the severing of the final string that tied him to who has been for just about the duration of his career. His short time as the Interwire Champion provided a glimpse into what Malosi COULD be and this season he aims to make that a constant part of his reality.
Gavin Kirkland: Come on. Now I LOVE a good competitive match but why on earth would I want to view Ronan Malosi in any way like that? Why would I want to invest myself in him becoming a serious, driven, determined Elitist when there are so many more reliable and dependable Elitists? This world NEEDS people like Ronan, we NEED an escape, a laugh everyone now and then.
Deadprez: If that’s the case, Ronan Malosi must believe that he has served his time being that relief for others as he zeroes in on maintaining his offense. He rises back to his feet and immediately brings TLA with him. TLA tries to fight back with a punch right to the ribs but Ronan responds immediately, flooring him back to the ground with a straight right fist! And the near limp body of TLA allows Ronan to lock in the Stretch Muffler submission with relative ease! Grabbing the right leg of TLA and wrapping the knee around the neck and applying additional strain by dropping down into a seated position and applying the body scissors with the legs!
Eve: I’m impressed by the way Ronan has been able to seize control of this contest out from under TLA and lock in such a submission, further escalating it with immense pressure and making it more and more difficult for his opponent to escape! But TLA remains calm under the pressure, pondering his exit strategy! TLA considers dragging himself and the larger frame of Ronan Malosi across the canvas towards the rope but Ronan quickly shuts that down as he cinches in the Stretch Muffler a little deeper…
Gavin Kirkland: But that isn’t the only out that TLA considers, he quickly begins to try and break the leg scissors from around his waist, gritting his teeth as Ronan tries desperately to sink it in deeper. AND TLA MANAGES TO DO JUST THAT! RONAN CAN’T KEEP CONTROL OF THE LEG SCISSORS AND TLA TAKES ADVANTAGE! HE ROLLS RONAN ONTO HIS BACK FOR THE PIN! RONAN STILL HAS THE LEG WRAPPED AROUND THE NECK, HE’S GOT TO GIVE IT UP OR BE PINNED HERE AND NOW!

Deadprez: RONAN RELEASES THE STRETCH MUFFLER RIGHT AWAY AND PUSHES TLA UP TO HIS FEET! BUT TLA RETURNS AND DELIVERS A STANDING DOUBLE FOOTSTOMP! TRYING TO CAVE THE CHEST OF RONAN MALOSI IN! But the effects of the Stretch Muffler are visible and undeniable and TLA can’t capitalise, clutching the right leg! This match just turned on a dime and is no longer in the control of Malosi. It’s there for the taking whoever gets to their feet first!
Eve: We’ve already spoken of the importance this match to kickstart the season has and both men know full well what there is for one to gain and the other to lose. They both stagger to their feet, neither completely balanced but it’s TLA who rocks Ronan first up with a forearm! Ronan tries to respond but the quicker, more agile TLA ducks and kicks the calf of his larger opponent! TLA follows it up with a variety of rapid stikes – kicks to the calves and thighs, punches to the ribs and connecting flush on the jaw before an almighty blunt forearm that sends Ronan tumbling to the canvas!
Gavin Kirkland: The coward rolls out of the ring right away to boot! I mean, this is what we’re talking about when it comes to Ronan Malosi, he will never truly change, see? Can’t hack it with the best and immediately crumbles when it goes against him. TLA is on top right where he should be :blessed:
Eve: AND HE’S ABOUT TO LITERALLY BE ON TOP OF RONAN MALOSI AS TLA DIVES THROUGH THE ROPES AND TAKES AN UNAWARE RONAN OUT WITH A SUICIDE DIVE! Deadprez: The crowd isn’t too happy as Limmy Monaghan begins to make his way down to the ring here, interrupting what has been a great contest so far. Next week these two men will collide to determine who faces Kassidy Heart at Midsummer Massacre and the tension from the opening earlier tonight is still palpable here! But TLA can’t allow himself to get distracted by the presence of Monaghan; if he slips up here tonight, there might be detrimental ramifications for his title aspirations!
Eve: Right from the word go these two don’t like each other and next week’s match is going to be one that I personally will be eager all week to see myself. And TLA might be allowing Limmy Monaghan to take too much of his focus away from this match! Neither man is saying a thing to the other, but the grin on Limmy Monaghan says everything; he’s got TLA distracted as Ronan is already back to his feet. TLA can’t put him away with the Burnout so instead he looks to fly with a crossbody!

He wants to be the only one who walks into Houston next week full of momentum and not TLA, hell, I’m sure he would do everything he could to make sure that next week’s match doesn’t happen at all! Ronan can’t allow this to get the better of him however. No matter how upset he may be at TLA kicking out of Vertigo, he has no choice but to do the very thing that Limmy is instructing him to do and that is put away TLA for good!

Deadprez: A match that for a moment seemed as if it was in jeopardy of being ruined no thanks to Limmy Monaghan but a stellar back and forth contest, where I’m Ronan Malosi absolutely took those steps towards changing how people view him, ultimately ends with the right man coming out on top! TLA stands victorious here tonight and can begin to look towards next week and the huge headline main event match! He could be only seven days away from cementing his return to the World Championship picture!

Deadprez: At the very least Limmy Monaghan is making it brutally clear that this season, he isn’t settling for anything less than becoming the Answers World Champion, that this season he WILL fulfill his destiny and the Monarch will reign over the blue brand. Next week’s match might be progress versus revival, it might be the veteran against the rising star, but TLA is going to have the fight of his life if he wants to make it to Midsummer Massacre to face Kassidy Heart.

(The camera fades to an overview of the AT&T Center. The sold out, capacity crowd buzzes in anticipation for what comes next…until ‘M3tamorphosis’ by Playboi Carti ft. Kid Cudi echoes throughout the venue through the PA system and their buzzing of anticipation turns to a simmer of jeers. After a moment, Impact steps onto the stage through a sea of blinding lights flickering around the stage and heads towards the ring, a slightly stoic expression on his face)
Gina Romano: Ladies and gentlemen please welcome at this time…IIIIIMMMMMPPPPPAAAAAACCCCCCTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!
Deadprez: Of the many shocking outcomes from Pain For Pride two weeks ago, the defeat of Impact at the hands of Xander Payne might just be one of the more surprising results. Something that could be coined the battle of the generations saw one of the greatest to ever do it left passed out in the middle of the ring by a first time main eventer in Payne to retain his World Heavyweight Championship. However, like many others coming off the back of defeats, tonight presents a clean slate, a new beginning to put it behind them and move onto bigger and better things.
Eve: And there’s no doubt that bigger and better things for Impact means #10Reignz. A legendary feat that will never be surpassed must surely be sitting there in the back of his mind, especially after it was right there for him to seize it at Pain For Pride. For someone like Impact, I can’t imagine there is any shred of contentment with losing big matches like that, especially to someone he flat out didn’t respect for the simple reason that they won’t outlast him and his career. But he’s here on Showdown and I couldn’t be more excited!
Gavin Kirkland: Impact is absolutely one of the biggest coups of the draft for Showdown. Right now he’s the most experienced and the most decorated member of the active Elitists across all of Elite Answers Wrestling and is still, all these years later, despite having achieved so much, driven to achieve only more. Whether it’s pride, whether it’s ego, or whether it’s simply that he isn’t anywhere close to being finished, the longevity and the consistency of Impact over his career is something to marvel at and we are incredibly fortunate to have him on Saturday nights.
(Impact settles in the middle of the ring with a microphone resting in his hand as ‘M3tamorphosis’ quiets down. The crowd’s jeers slowly die down, allowing Impact to begin)
Impact: To some degree, nothing on my mind is anything new. It’s nothing that you can’t find from another year, after another loss like Pain For Pride was. And it’s not because I don’t have anything else to say, but rather it’s because all you – those watching and those in the back – always find yourselves making these same remarks. It’s a narrative that many cling to, nowadays only clung to in the hope that they will finally be right; it’s a vicious cycle that loops back on itself inevitably whenever you have even the slightest of an opening to make it. Because once again, I find myself having to hear the same familiar, tiresome beating of the drum that says Impact is washed up, that Impact is too old, that Impact has been replaced. In fact I heard it last season on Dynasty, and I merely only muffled those voices for a brief moment after I won the No Way Out match to main event yet another Pain For Pride World Championship match. Now they’re flooding back as predictably as ever before. Once more, my place in this company and my future is placed under a microscope, bound to be scrutinized and judged. It simply doesn’t matter how many times I have to endure this, it doesn’t matter how many times I need to keep cutting this same bit. When are you going to learn to never doubt me? When is it finally going to click that no matter who gets their precious mere moment over me, I always remain above them? I could reflect on that match, but what’s there to reflect on exactly? A defeat like that teaches me nothing, against an opponent whose time at the pinnacle of Dynasty, of EAW as a whole is brief compared to what I have done and will do. #10Reignz will be more historic and defining than anything the World Heavyweight Champion will ever do in his lifetime and that alone is enough to never think twice about that loss. That said, there is one thing worth reflecting on.
(Impact hesitates for a second, tapping his foot on the canvas as he considers his next words)
Impact: For the first time in a long time, Pain For Pride feels as if it represented a true changing of the guard. Champions of various kinds who defeated some of the very best to do it, standing on top of it all. Those who many call the foundation of this place, that have a presence that is impossible to replace are beginning to crumble and instead are replaced by new ones; Pain For Pride itself being a reminder of that change. Not long ago I said that the only thing consistent in EAW is my presence and once again I find myself reminded of that as I remain as others begin to fall away, as they begin to slow down, as their futures are more and more uncertain, all while I stand here with my desires still in tact and my resolve unwavering. Impact outgrows. Impact outlasts. I have always been the one who remains and that will continue to be something that motivates me even if it’s just to spite those who hate. All those who try to make their name off the back of my legacy in this company, those who even do get that precious moment, eventually become forgettable; their name eventually spoken just one last time before turning to dust while I remain as I have always been. However, there’s no denying the change that has come with this new season. When some fade away, those even I expected to not outlast, those even I expected to remain alongside have their futures less than certain, it begins to force my hand to consider just what my own future is. Whether or not you would call it a ‘fate’ is for you to decide, semantics aside, it’s impossible to not get lost in the possibilities of what the future may be. It’s impossible to not consider that for all my own exceptional way of outlasting all others, there is likely an end none too different waiting for me. An end that involves me being defeated by someone who many hail as the ‘future’ of this brand although they are, in no way at all, any different to the many who only rise and promptly fall without ever becoming part of the foundation that holds this company up. If you consider that the ‘fate’ that awaits me, that awaits anyone else like me, then so be it but that won’t be something that I will willingly allow to exist nor is it a ‘fate’ that I will deal with anytime soon.
(As he begins to feel slightly bothered by the notion of ‘fate’ beyond out of his control, he takes deep breath and exhales, grinning as he does so)
Impact: When another King falls, when another Monarch fails, when another crowd favourite falters, when another Emperor dies, when another generation meets its end…simply when everyone meets their end and there is nobody left, I will still be here ready to put Showdown on my back. Just like how I have put countless brands throughout the years – near every year – on there to carry them forward when there was that necessity, when they begged and pleaded for the ‘old, washed up, replaced’ Impact to do what he has always done. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Generations are going to keep passing through, another will rise up and replace the old ones, another Pain For Pride like two weeks ago will happen again and yet once more, I will be the one who remains still on top of this world, the consistent element in a world that will continue to change over and over again with new faces and if that means that a day comes where I’m the only person left standing then so be it, I will be the one person left standing tall over all others. The theme of the show tonight is supposedly new beginnings, right? Then allow me to be the antithesis to the very idea of a new beginning. While everyone is rattling off their goals and ambitions, filling their heads full of promises that will likely never be fulfilled, I have just one intention. No matter how it comes to be and no matter how it looks, whether #10Reignz becomes a reality or not, my one goal is to maintain the very thing that I have been doing year over year and that is outlasting, outgrowing everyone else. If your ideal sense of ‘fate’ is expecting me to finally buckle to the very idea of allowing someone else that you handpick to replace me, then fuck your worthless, patheitc ‘fate’, that will never be what Impact will become.

Deadprez: Whatever speculation you had of Impact, I doubt there is any left to speculate about. Business as usual. A continuation of everything that has come to define Impact over his long tenured career in this company. No matter the change that occurs, no matter the Champions that rise to the top, no matter who becomes anointed as ruler of an era, the face of a generation, Impact’s desire to remain while they all fade away is enough motivation to ensure that he isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
Eve: And if you’re still confused about what it means for Impact to simply do what he has always done, then that absolutely will lead him back to being on the verge of achieving that historic tenth reign; he isn’t interested in addressing anyone’s sense of fate anytime soon, only reaffirming his consistency and longevity despite all the changes that can and often do occur over the course of any season for any brand.
Gavin Kirkland: Guys all night I have been putting together a list of everyone who I want to see beat Kassidy Heart for the Answers World Championship. Right now it’s basically everyone on the roster minus Kassidy herself but Impact just shot right to the top of it if he’s set on ensuring that everyone remembers who remains and who fades away in the end.

He keeps the EAW Hardcore Championship around his waist on the stage, shines it up and rallies up the crowd before moseying down the aisle. )
Gina Romano: INTRODUCING FIRST! From New York City, weighing in at 231 pounds… HE IS THE REIGNING EAW HARDCORE CHAMPION.. ADAM LUCASSSSSSSSSSSS!!
Deadprez: Adam Lucas is coming full steam ahead into the new season fresh off what was a hugely successful one for him. Adam Lucas came into Pain For Pride 14 as the EAW Pure Champions—a championship that he took from Limmy Monaghan at Reckless Wiring—and exited with the EAW Hardcore Championship. Not only is he joining the likes of Jack Ripley, Killswitch, Heart Break Boy, and MVP—just to name a few—he is also fresh off a career-defining victory over Mr. DEDEDE. A victory like that? It doesn’t come often and you know Adam Lucas is going to be at the top of everyone’s list at the start of this season. Considering the type of lengths he took in order to vanquish the Ryan Adams threat, you know that Kassidy Heart has some bones to pick with him tonight.
Eve: The Showdown management pulled strings together and made this match happen, and I couldn’t be any more happier! While this may be advertised on paper as a champion versus champion match, these two are heading into that ring with way more on their mindset. Kassidy Heart needs the avenge the loss of her husband while Adam Lucas is going to try his best to maintain that the Adams family pales in comparison to the reigning EAW Hardcore Champion. As the 49th EAW Hardcore Champion, Adam Lucas has some pretty big shoes to fill and a huge draft victory to follow up with tonight.
( “Monster” by Kanye West blasts through the speaker to an ear-splitting pop that is split in half with boos and cheers. With the EAW Answers World Champion around her waist, Kassidy Heart jerks the curtain and makes her appearance known on the stage. She unhooks the championship and raises it in the air before throwing it over her shoulder and confidently striding down the ramp. )

Eve: Kassidy Heart is someone who deserves every second of praise that comes to her. She continues to prove that she is head and shoulders above the rest of her competition and with a victory over Jamie O’Hara, Kassidy Heart is definitely in the prime of her life. Her EAW Answers World Championship reign has been extraordinary and she will continue to take that prestigious championships straight past the stratosphere to heights it has never seen before. Kassidy Heart is in a huge high off Pain For Pride 14 and she hopes to continue staying within the perimeters of the winners’ circle by knocking off the EAW Hardcore Champion.
Deadprez: Take note that these two competitors are still not one-hundred percent. I am certain that these two are aware of that and did their homework prior to this match. Adam Lucas’ hard-hitting, rough-to-the-bone style will be clashing with the excellent versatility of Kassidy Heart. This is going to be a great match and it is a perfect way to have within the first main event spotlight of the season!

With our first Saturday night evening back on the road, it is absolutely an honour to be under the umbrella of such a rowdy crowd. While this may be a match between champions on paper, this is a personal bout. Adam Lucas is less than two weeks fresh with his EAW Hardcore Championship, for where he ended up putting Mr. DEDEDE out of the ring for the near future. King Kass certainly has a vendetta stemming off that sheer fact into this match and this will definitely get extremely personal real quick. King Kass is disgusted by the endearment shown towards Adam Lucas, while it puts a proud smirk on Lucas’ face. Kass shakes her head side to side before Lucas slowly walks into the corner to try and engage this huge battle!

Deadprez: Adam Lucas and Kassidy Heart with a performance of a lifetime here on the first Saturday night main event of the season! What a way to end the first show—my god! Adam Lucas proves that he deserves to call himself EAW Hardcore Champion, but Kassidy Heart drills in the narrative further that she is head and shoulders above the competition. Both of these champions tore the roof off this place and through all of that hardship, Kassidy Heart followed up her career-defining Pain For Pride moment with a victory over Adam Lucas.
Eve: Kassidy Heart most certainly avenges the loss of her husband at Pain For Pride tonight. Rest assured, this will definitely not be the last time these two crossed paths and I hope not!
