(EAW intro plays.)
(RECAP OF GRAND RAMPAGE: The recap opens with the battle between Kassidy Heart and Consuela Rose Ava, which was considered by man match of the night, with Kassidy Heart reigning supreme in the end over Consuela, retaining her Answers World Championship. Ronan Malosi versus Bronson Daniels followed where Ronan wasn’t as lucky, despite attempting to run away, Ronan still succumbed to an ankle lock from Bronson Daniels. Jack Ripley versus Jack Ripley was also an epic match which took place at Grand Rampage, resulting in Jack Ripley going clean sweep over Daniels in the 2-out-of-3 falls match. The defeat stung for Xavier Williams, who practically snapped on Ripley after the loss, delivering Death’s Dance on the outside. Jamie O’Hara would shock the world with a retain that came out of nowhere, basically announcing his time in EAW has come to an end, someone who was not willing to accept such news was Kassidy Heart, who wanted Jamie to stay an active competitor so she could finally say she beat him, however, it isn’t looking as if Jamie is looking to give into Kass’ desire. And of course, the main event of the show being Grand Rampage, which featured elitists from all three brands, with Drake King walking out victorious. Congratulations to Drake!)
(“Uncontainable” by Set It Off hits as blue and white pyro explodes on top of the stage and then the blue lights and lasers shine throughout the arena as the virtual fans are cheering ready for the show to begin.)
(SCREEN BAR — EAST RUTHERFORD, NEW JERSEY!)
Eve: WELCOME LADIES AND GENTLEMEN TO SATURDAY NIGHT SHOWDOWN!!!
Deadprez: As always, Myself, Eve, and the world famous Gavin Kirkland. What a show Grand Rampage turned out to be.
Gavin Kirkland: Although nobody from Showdown came close to winning. Our GM can’t be thrilled with that.
Eve: Our women still tore the house down in the Answers World Championship match, some calling it the match of the night, and we got a brand new Interwire Champion, Bronson Daniels!
Deadprez: Pain For Pride is starting to heat up, so what are we waiting for? Let’s get this show on the road!
(‘Monster’ by Kanye West shatters the buzz of the virtual crowd through the PA system as their anticipation turns to a vicious roar of boos. After several moments, King Kass emerges on the stage, her Answers World Championship strapped around her waist. She pays no attention to the crowd as she makes her way to the ring, clearly not in a good mood after the events of Grand Rampage)
Gina Romano: Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome…the Answers World Champion!!! KIIIIIIINNNNGGGGG KKKKKKAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!
Deadprez: We’re a week removed from Grand Rampage and it’s safe to say the duality of King Kass was on full display. She opened the show with a successful title defense against the courageous and brave Consuela Rose Ava but it was on the following night that left us stunned as she interrupted the seemingly retired Jamie O’Hara but was left disappointed when the Ace still walked away.
Eve: When was the last time that King Kass didn’t get the thing she wanted most? She did a considerable job at stopping herself from getting caught up in her emotions after O’Hara shot down that request but you just know that beneath the surface she was seething. But we know King Kass isn’t one to give up and I’m sure we haven’t heard the last of her desire to face the Ace at Pain For Pride!
Gavin Kirkland: NO! Screw her and screw her desire! My legend, my LEDGE DESERVES to ride off into the majestic sunset with his majestic body and majestic family without having to return to face Kass! What does he have to prove? What does he gain from ANY of this?!?
(‘Monster’ by Kanye West dies down until only the booing remains. King Kass’ expression refuses to change as she brings the microphone up to speak)
King Kass: You know, I’m sure you’re all just bursting with joy anticipating your King being upset about what happened at Grand Rampage! I know you’ve been looking forward to this week, looking forward to me opening Showdown and having some kind of meltdown. But let’s just get one thing straight; while you’re concerned about what happened on the second night of Grand Rampage, let’s not allow it to overshadow what happened beforehand…
(King Kass rips the Answers World Championship from her waist and hoists it into the air much to the disdain of the virtual crowd)
King Kass: I am STILL the Answers World Champion. I am STILL the KING of not just this brand but Elite Answers Wrestling entirely. I stand at the top alone, I stand at the top unrivalled against every other World Champion there is. I did to Consuela just what I said I was going to do; I proved to the world that she isn’t in my fucking league and she couldn’t come close to cracking The Crown Jewel of EAW. I’ll give her some simple ‘credit’ where it’s due, she tried. Consuela tried very…very hard yet still, as desperately as she did try, I still left her in a state of no escape. Nowhere to run, no way to save herself and all Consuela Rose Ava could do was tap out. Give up. Submit to her King. Now? Now there isn’t anything standing in my way between now and Pain or Pride; I will headline Pain For Pride, I will get the match and the place at the very top that I deserve, that I have deserved for years. Considering the restrictions in place, I won’t be defending this title at Battle of Egypt II, even if there was another woman on this pathetic roster that could stand and test me, if there was any woman ‘deserving’ of a shot at my title. However, that doesn’t mean that I won’t be there at all.
(The roar of the virtual crowd’s boos returns as Kass settles the title back onto her shoulder. She takes a moment as her grin fades back to the look of displeasure)
King Kass: I’ve got to hand it to you, Jamie. For the first time in such a long time someone stood there and told me no. You had the audacity to not just look me in the eyes and turn down my intent to challenge you but also provoke me. To hang everything that has happened between you and I, between your family and my family over my head and walk away believing that you have “won”, as if I would just be content with your answer. I get it, you want to move on. You want to leave this company behind, leave the legacy that you’ve built as it is and just call it a day; all the battles won, all the glory you’ve obtained, there isn’t anything left for you to accomplish, is there? You’re a stickler for the big moments, for the big matches and if the chance to once again, for the fourth time in five years headline Pain For Pride in a World Championship match isn’t enough to draw you back in? Then maybe you’re truly done. And when you say that you’re moving on with life itself, I don’t think you’re telling a lie. You and Cameron are moving into an even bigger home as we speak and your baby boy is growing up before your very eyes. You said it yourself, you have everything in this world to be content and happy. It’s just rather fitting that in the end, you ended up with a patch of dirt beneath your feet to claim as yours while the kingdom once again returned to control of an Adams.
(More more, the virtual crowd boos heavily, but King Kass remains unconcerned with their reaction)
King Kass: But there’s two sides of this coin, Jamie. Where you walk away, someone else is left disappointed. Where you’re happy, someone else suffers. Where you’re content with everything you have accomplished, someone else is far, far from content. It’s not just me. It’s everyone else who looked to you. It’s everyone else who cheered you on and supported you through thick and thin, who have been there regardless of what you have done – the highs and the lows. And you’re leaving them all just so utterly disappointed, their beloved Ace is abandoning them. How about this brand itself and this company as a whole? Do I really need to bring up the last time someone tried to imitate the Ace? Do I really need to bring up the last time someone tried to fill the void that you left? No, I’ve done more than enough to fill that void but that’s not going to stop others trying desperately to do it themselves, trying to replicate that same aura you have. Even when I stand here as the Answers World Champion, the King, having completely filled the role you held and having done so far better, Showdown still needs it’s Ace, even if that need is just to stand opposite me on the biggest stage there is. Because maybe it was wrong of me, Jamie. Maybe it was wrong of me to interrupt your precious little moment at Grand Rampage and make that challenge but the point remains, I’ve got no interest in facing anyone else at Pain For Pride but you. I’ve sent the only person who has pinned you in over a year in Jack Ripley right to the back of the line when I ripped this Championship from his grasp, I’ve defeated the only other contender in range of being ‘deserving’ and even that was a stretch. Not a single return at Grand Rampage is enough either. It’s the Ace or bust and I’m not going to simply sit back and accept the latter. But I’m not going to beg. I’m not going to plead. I’m not going to lower myself to those pathetic standards, just like you begged, pleaded, swore up and down a year ago to get your match with Ryan. I don’t plan on just taking your answer last week and accepting it, not at all. That’s why at Battle For Egypt II, I’m going to stand in that ring and I’m going to make an official challenge, a formal challenge if putting you on the spot, if telling you the harsh reality of ‘retirement’, wasn’t going to get the right response. King versus Ace. King Kass versus Jamie O’Hara for the Answers World Championship at Pain For Pride.
(King Kass, like at Grand Rampage, looks towards the Pain For Pride logo hanging from the rafters. She smiles as that is all she wants. Her headline match, that she deserves so much against the only opponent who fits. The virtual crowd can’t help themselves but cheer at the possibility of Jamie O’Hara returning for another match)
King Kass: You’ve got two weeks, ‘Ace’. You’ve got two weeks to decide if you’ve got it in you to prove to everyone that you’re not just walking away because the weight of this world got a little too much. You’ve two weeks to decide if you can live with the reality that walking away means that you were just a brief, fleeting moment in this company, always destined to be none too different than so many before you; the very thing that you’ve spent seven years trying to avoid becoming a true, honest inevitability. But I have a feeling that by then, you’re going to come around to the idea. In fact, I don’t think you’re going to have any choice but to accept. Like I said, for the first time since I can remember, someone flat out told me no and you don’t think I’m going to get what I want? Don’t blame me, Jamie, for what happens next. Don’t blame me for the boundaries that are pushed; whatever happens is going to be a direct result of your insolence, when all you had to do was accept. When all you had to do is bury your own ego, shelve your own pride and give up on the ridiculous idea that you had some perfect ending to your career. Because the King WILL defeat the Ace, I WILL cement my place as the very best in the world today and further the truth that I will become the very best of all time. By the time all of this is said and done, and Pain for Pride is in the books, I will have become immortalized.
(‘Monster’ by Kanye West slices through the boos as King Kass once again holds her Answers World Championship into the air. A brash, cocky grin splashes across her face, as she knows full well what she plans to do to get her match with Jamie O’Hara)
Deadprez: If anyone doubts what King Kass is capable of, then they haven’t been paying attention. This is a woman who gets whatever it is she wants, and gets what she wants by any means necessary regardless of the moral boundaries she’s willing to step over. She doesn’t care if Jamie O’Hara is retired, if he’s confident in being finished with this company, she’ll drag him back to this ring, to this company and won’t spare any cost – tangible or intangible – in doing so.
Eve: We can only sit here and speculate just what she’s going to do next week to make this match a reality but the date has been set; one way or another, we’ll find out whether or not Jamie O’Hara will return to face King Kass at Pain For Pride. There’s nobody in EAW today that is as confident, who is at their peak in every possible way as King Kass is. Perhaps not since Jamie O’Hara himself reigned for nearly an entire year has someone been on such a level as she is today.
Gavin Kirkland: :mjcry: Don’t you dare compare this heathen to a literal God. How on earth does she feel justified to speak to him like that? To think that she can dictate when someone like the Ace can walk away from this company? After everything he’s given, after everything he’s done, he deserves to walk away on his own terms, not the terms of someone else. She needs to learn her place and not disrespect someone like Jamie O’Hara because if she forces his hand, then King Kass is going to realise that you get what you fucking deserve!
Deadprez: Regardless, there’s no doubt in my mind that the man himself was watching this closely. As Eve said, one way or another, we’ll get his response; whether he shows up to Cairo or not.
(King Kass makes her way towards the back, still maintaining her grin, a confident grin, paying little attention to the virtual crowd’s boos as the camera fades to black)
(Commercial for the PS5 with Harper Lee, but no PS5 to be seen as she looks puzzled. They’re still hard to get. :noah:)
(The camera pans back into the ring as Gina Romano stands ready to announce the first match of the night.)
Gina Romano: The following contest is scheduled for!
Virtual crowd: ONE FALL!!
( ‘ Red Eye ‘ by NBA Youngboy plays over the PA system of World1 Theatre as the veteran is making his way to the ring sided with his manager. )
Gina Romano: ANNNND His Opponent! From Toronto, Ontario, Canada but residing in Dallas, Texas! Accompanied to the ring by Londyn Zelaya! Weighing in at 210 pounds! He is The CHOSEN ONE! JOOOOOON KELLLLLL-TOOOOONNN!!
Gavin Kirkland: Classic case of veteran versus debutant here tonight folks! Hurricane Hawk offered quite a challenge to the young man Jon is about to step foot in the ring with.
Deadprez: That’s right! Jon fared rather well for himself last weekend during the Grand Rampage match despite not being the winner. You know he’s pissed as he feel he could have done a lot more. He will want to make good on the momentum and hopefully pick up a win tonight.
( ‘The Hero’ by Jam Project begins to play all over the arena as the atmosphere is all dark until, at 10 seconds, a red light invades the arena. Katsurou appears at the top of the ramp with a determined look on his face. He begins to walk slowly while not taking his eyes off the center of the ring. Already in the ring, he goes to the turnbuckle, and brings both hands to his chest, and with his eyes closed stretches his left fist into the air. )
Gina Romano: Introducing first! Making his EAW And Showdown Debut! Accompanied to the ring by Koji Matsumura! Weighing in at 205 pounds! From Nagano, Japan. He is Nihon no sukui! Japan’s Salvation! KATSUROU EEEEEEE-NOOOOO!!!!
Gavin Kirkland: Quite an impressive entrance for a rookie.
Deadprez: Let’s hope his performance is just as impressive! I have a good vibe about this one. This will be a good match.
Eve: And this match is officially underway! This is Katsurou Eno’s debut match and he is in for a good one against a veteran like Kelton! Both men stare at each other as they circle each other around the center of the ring. Eno opens up extending an arm proposing a feat of strength and Kelton hesitates but goes in! The struggle is evident as both men tries to power the other down to his knees but Kelton quickly shifts and gets Katsurou into a headlock followed by a snap mare takedown and THE crossface!! KELTON WITH THE CROSSFACE HE IS LOOKING TO END THIS EARLY BUT ENO WITH STRENGTH HURRIES TO THE ROPES FORCING THE BREAK BY THE OFFICIAL! Kelton chuckles softly letting go and moving up to his feet not before slapping the back of Eno’s head mockingly!
Jon Kelton: Welcome to EAW kid!
Gavin Kirkland: The arrogance of the man. I like it!
Eve: Kelton moves behind Eno hugging him from behind his hands locked together in a trained lock, uh oh we know what that means! German Suplex from Kelton! Eno is going for a ride as he slams on the floor but Kelton isn’t done he didn’t let go of the hold! He gets up and deadlifts Eno for a second suplex! He goes for it again! A third suplex which he lets go of this time!! Eno lands on the high of his back the damage this can do to your neck is massive! Katsurou is holding his neck squirming, Kelton seems to enjoy the work he’s done so is Londyn at ringside! Kelton picks up his opponent, whipping him hard into a corner he goes to the opposite side and charges in for a corner spear BUT ENO DODGES! KELTON’s shoulder kisses the ring post! That must hurt like hell as he backs away into a dropkick from Eno! Kelton’s head smacks against the top turnbuckle and he holding onto it barely standing up! Eno shakes the pain of the german suplexes off groaning and goes to Kelton, he gets the hold in a german of his own throwing Jon to the center of the ring by Katsurou! Talk about giving your opponent a taste of your own medicine! The newcomer is looking to impress and show he is not intimidated by the veteran tonight and the fans are loving it! Eno picks Kelton up and slams him down with a snap suplex followed by a series of knee drops to the side of Kelton who ends up rolling outside of the ring only to be met by Londyn who checks up on him under the boos of the crowd. Eno follows suit, Londyn takes a step aside screaming as Eno attacks her man with a lariat to the back of the head! Kelton stumbles forward and towards our announce table!
Gavin Kirkland: Leave our fucking tables alone damn it!
Deadprez: Occupational hazard Gavin, get out of dodge!
Eve: Kelton’s head meets the top of our table thanks to the effort of Katsurou! He throws fists of fury at the man before allowing himself to enjoy the cheers of the crowd. Kelton is seeing stars meanwhile and slowly turns to face his opponent who suddenly runs towards him for a jump-WOAH THE SIDEWALK SLAM FROM KELTON THROUGHOUT ANNOUNCE TABLE!!! THE MODIFIED SIDEWALK SLAM FROM KELTON ON ENO WHAT COUNTER FROM THE VETERAN! The rookie didn’t see that one coming!
Gavin Kirkland: Neither did our poor table!
Deadprez: Would you rather he had slammed you?
Gavin Kirkland: No…
Eve: Focus men! Eno looks to be in trouble early on in the match already he had to go through a series of germans and our announcer’s table as he gets tossed into the ring by Kelton and goes for a cover.
Referee: One! Tw-
Gavin Kirkland: Woah!
Deadprez: He kicked out! An average rookie wouldn’t have survived!
Eve: This is a good show for Eno but if he keeps getting dished on like this he won’t be able to survive long as Kelton moves on for more offensive throwing a few elbows to Katsurou before getting him up and whipping him hard into a corner. He goes for a corner spear but he expected Eno to dodge it which he did! Kelton throws a thumb into the eyes of Eno who was just about to unload a counter-response but instead gets blindly whipped into the ropes! Kelton is waiting for him with a running knee strike but Eno dodges the move! Both men run to opposite ropes bow SPRINGBOARD DROPKICK BY ENO! SEEMS LIKE HE RELIED ON INSTINCT TO THROW IN THAT MOVE!! Kelton goes down! Eno goes on the offensive this is his shot as he picks Kelton up rapidly and hammers him with a set of fists to the face followed by a forearm and a knee to the midsection making Kelton lean forward! To the ropes, Eno goes and runs it for a jumping neck breaker! Down goes Kelton as any momentum he used to have seemed all but gone now! Eno goes for a series of leg drops followed by a running senton before getting Kelton to his feet and clocking him with a standing dropkick that gets Jon to step backward and into the ropes! He bounces back towards Eno who throws in a spinning heel kick! Down goes Kelton! Eno with a cover!!
Referee: One! Tw-
Gavin Kirkland: Not today!
Deadprez: Kelton with the shoulder up! Good offensive sequence from the rookie though! A quick-paced hard-hitting match thus far I like it!
Eve: And there is more to come as Evo picks up Kelton forcing him to his feet, European uppercut on the button by Eno to Kelton’s jaw the former 24/7 contract holder looks to be in trouble under the assaults of the debuting young star! Kelton gets Irish Whipped into the ropes and gets taken down by a jumping enzuigiri well aimed by Eno who picks a now staggering Kelton back to his feet the young man is not giving Kelton any second of a reprieve this might be the winning strategy here! Kelton is vertical but stunned on his feet looking like a Mortal Kombat character ready for a FINISH HIM!
Gavin Kirkland: I heard the movie sucked!
Deadprez: I heard different, to which his own?
Gavin Kirkland: Whatever, can’t be as bad as MK Annihilation!
Eve: It was a good mo-SPINEBUSTEEEEEER BY KELTON! WHAT FORCE AS ENO DROPS DOWN STIFFLY ON THE MAT!! KATSUROU WAS GOING FOR A SPRINGBOARD TACKLE BUT THE VETERAN COUNTERED WITH A SPINEBUSTER!! ENO IS DOWN! KELTON WITH THE COVER!!
Referee: ONE! TWO!
Gavin Kirkland: He kicked out!!
Deadprez: The rookie is showing his will tonight folks! Meanwhile, Kelton is showing he has a bag full of tricks!
Eve: Experience is something Kelton has plenty of indeed as he looks down on his opponent pondering what the next move in an attempt to win tonight is going to be.
Eve: TWIST OF FATE BY JON KELTON!! COVER!!
Referee: ONE! TWO!
Gavin Kirkland: I thought he was done!
Deadprez: Apparently not!!
Eve: How Eno managed to lift the shoulder up is beyond me but what show he is putting on for us tonight! Eno is in a lot of trouble right now as Kelton is picking up his opponent.
Londyn Zelaya: HIT IT AGAIN!!!!!
Gavin Kirkland: You heard that?
Deadprez: We all did! She asked for another Twist of Fate! Kelton smirks he will gladly oblige as he sets up Katsukou! He execu-NO! I CAN’T BELIEVE IT ENO COUNTERED THE MOVE WITH A REVERSE CUTTER!!! Londyn just yelped outside of the ring watching her man now down on the mat as Katsukou goes for a cover!!
Gavin Kirkland: Hey that’s one of Kelton’s moves!
Referee: One! Two! Th-
Gavin Kirkland: Oh Good!!
Deadprez: This match will continue as Kelton kicked out just in a nick of time!!
Eve: This was a great counter by Katsurou that will leave a mark in the morning! He picks Kelton up taking him down with a dropkick before landing a few elbows to the back of Kelton once to the ground rapidly! He gets Kelton up again, Uppercut to the jaw followed by a second then a third forcing Jon to a corner before being crushed against it with a perfect landing crossbody! Katsurou is with the momentum now as he goes for a running clothesline and nails are followed by a series of knife-edge chops which are causing Jon’s chest to glow a pinkish color! Those seem to be hard stiff strikes too by the rookie! Kelton is thrown into the ropes, clipped with a knee making him flip and land on his back. Kelton is trying to find a breather but Eno is not allowing him a break whatsoever! Slaps and fists to the face followed by a wheel ki-NO! KELTON CAUGHT ENO MID-MOVEMENT AND POWERS HIM DOWN WITH A BRAIIIIIIN BUSTEEEERRRRRR!!! COVER!!
Referee: One! Two! Thr-
Gavin Kirkland: How the fuck did h-
Deadprez: Language! Geez man, kids are watching this show!
Eve: Jon needs to keep on the offensive if he wants a shot at winning against the rookie tonight his plan seems to be sky-bound as he moves up to the top ropes and looks down on his opponent who is slowly getting up. Kelton goes airborne and lands on Eno with a top rope crossbody! Perfectly executed by the first-ever Interwire Champion! He picks up Eno setting him up for a powerbomb and oh no this isn’t good, Eno already went through three suplexes before will he be able to survive a triplet of powerbombs?? WHAM!! Down goes the first! Eno is lifted up for a second! ENO COUNTERED!!! HE COUNTERED WITH A dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane!!!
Gavin Kirkland: A what now??
Deadprez: That’s the scientific wording for a DDT Gavin!
Gavin Kirkland: No one uses that!
Deadprez: Hey I’m not the one who named that move! To me, it’s just a variant of a front facelock or inverted headlock!
Eve: In any case, Kelton’s head got planted in the mat with his own momentum thanks to Eno’s ability to act and both men are down! Eno is having a hard time getting to his feet he did suffer the first of the three hits that Kelton wanted to drill him with the complete sequence would’ve done some major damage! Both men are on the ground this has been a strong match by both ends! Kelton has shown what he is made of and the newcomer Katsurou Eno is making a wonderful display on his debut match! Eno moves to his feel first while Kelton is still on his back. Eno rushes to the ropes, jumping on the second one with both feels,s, and goes flipping for a perfectly executed Lion-NO!!! KELTON CAUGHT HIM ON HIS SHOULDERS!! ENO DIDN’T SEE HIM GET TO HIS KNEES AND NOW HE IS ON JON’S SHOULDERS AND QUICKLY GETS VERTICAL WITH KATSUROU ON HIM! HE SPINS THE MAN! F5!!!!!! THE F5 SENDS ENO CRASHING DOWN!! Kelton with the cover!
Referee: One! Two!
Gavin Kirkland: Eno kicked out!!
Deadprez: The newcomer doesn’t want to abandon on his debut! What resiliency!
Eve: But will he be able to recover following that move? Kelton gets up fast trying to finish this he goes for the STFU DAMN his patented rear-naked choke and Eno goes flailing!! He tries to get to the ropes to force a break of the hold and he does!! But at what cost! Luckily for him, Kelton didn’t keep the pressure for long as he lets go of Eno and drives a knee to the back of his opponent before getting him up to his feet. Katsurou gets whipped into the ropes and gets knocked down with a high knee! Kelton goes for the head getting Eno up and scoops him on his shoulder! Is it going to be the running power slam? He goes mobile but Katsurou slips behind him and pushes Kelton to the ropes! Jon on the bounce back gets welcomed by a roundhouse but he ducks low! Eno turns around KELTON WITH THE CODE OF SILENCE!! THE STANDING SPINNING HEEL KICK CONNECTS!! ENO GOES DOWN! KELTON WITH THE COVER!!
Referee: ONE! TWO!! THREE!!!
( ‘ Red Eye ‘ by NBA Youngboy plays over the PA system of World1 Theatre as the veteran has his hand raised by the official. Zelaya is thrilled as she stands by her man.)
Gina Romano: The winner of this bout: The CHOSEN ONE! JOOOOOON KELLLLLL-TOOOOONNN!!
Gavin Kirkland: That match was better than I anticipated! Both men especially the rookie didn’t go easy on each other!
Deadprez: And that is why Eno should feel no shame to have lost on his debut he managed a performance that will make head turns and pay attention to what he does next! Congratulations to Jon on his victory tonight! A solid performance from the Chosen One!
(The camera fades to another commercial break.)
(Commercial of Ronan Malosi screaming back on his conspiracy theories, demanding the Interwire Title be returned to him because his finger touched the rope. Security kicks him out of the studio.)
(Showdown returns from commercial as the camera pans around the World 1 Theatre, before “Runnin” by 21 Savage & Metro Boomin hits with an explosion of cheers from the crowd all excited to see the brand new Interwire Champion. :blessed:)
Deadprez: And what an amazing 30 days it’s been for this man right here. Bronson has set his eyes on something and he achieved it. What a king.
Gavin Kirkland: Stop simping.
Eve: How ironic.
(Bronson finally walks out on the stage as the crowd goes even crazier. Bronson’s got a pair of jeans on, a pair of Dior Jordan 1’s, a white shirt and a jean jacket. He’s wearing his newly-won Interwire Championship on his shoulder, and is walking down the ramp with a smirk on his face.)
Stephie Love: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome, your INTERWIRE CHAMPION BITCH!!! BRRROONNNSSSOONNNN DAAANIEEELLSSS!!!!
Eve: It truly is amazing how Bronson can do whatever he sets his mind to doing, even when he fails once, twice, he never backs down, he comes back better than ever, until he finally does what he sets himself to doing.
Deadprez: Of course, we’ve been here commentating Bronson for his whole EAW career and not once has this man let his own failures get to him, he got back up, and fought some more.
Gavin Kirkland: Man, this dude got negative titties. At least Ronan Malosi’s fatass had boobs–
Deadprez: Now what the fuck is wrong with you?
Gavin Kirkland: I don’t see my King Kassidy Heart over here, so let me suffer.
Eve: I thought you hated her because she’s harassing your Ace?
Gavin Kirkland:
Eve: Pick a damn side. Lord.
Deadprez: Alright let’s cool down. We’re here to celebrate, not fight.
(Bronson finally enters the ring. He takes a deep breath and puts a bright smile on his face as he scans the crowd who hasn’t stopped cheering as “Runnin” dies down as Bronson raises the microphone to his mouth.)
Bronson Daniels: Well… shit… I’m Interwire Champion…
(Bronson takes the Interwire Title off his shoulder and raises it in the air to a big reaction from the crowd and then puts it back down on his shoulder.)
Bronson Daniels: It is truly such an honor to hold this championship. With past holders like Mister K, HRDO, Tyler Parker, Vic Vendetta, and many more, I feel great just knowing that I’m on the same list as these legends. And it also feels great knowing that one day I’m going to also surpass them. Of course, it’s been a long and truly amazing journey to winning this championship. From my performance in last year’s Grand Rampage match to becoming the 51st New Breed Champion, to failing my first attempt at getting to the Interwire Championship, to my legendary performances in the Showdown main event scene at Road To Redemption and King of Elite, and to finally becoming Interwire Champion, the 51st at that. Guess 51 is my lucky number. :mackie: It’s been just over a year and my legacy is already amazing. Not many people can have two different reigns within the same season, but I’m always here to do what most cannot do.
Bronson Daniels: It’s been a 7-month journey in which I’ve been on and off chasing this title. I set my eyes on it right after losing the New Breed Championship, I had the opportunity stolen from me out of luck, I moved on, and proved I can hang in the main event picture not once, but TWICE. Right after I went back to chasing this title, a little white whore got in my way and sadly we all had to see Ronan Malosi of all people be Interwire Champion because of that person. But I didn’t let myself get knocked down. I was injured for a few weeks, and I came back stronger than ever. It’s been two months since I’ve last lost a match, of course, it wasn’t my fault that I lost that match but I came back a different person. I came back with a new kind of energy in me, energy which let NOTHING stop me in my journey to getting what the fuck I wanted, and that’s the Interwire Championship. Every week since I came back at the beginning of April has been nothing but me sending message after message. I was tired of having these unready bozos be champions over me just because they get lucky to not have to go through me.
Bronson Daniels: I let Justin Windgate pass and he’s been nothing but mediocre. Then I saw Ronan Malosi became Interwire Champion… and yeah, I had enough. This title I’m holding right now has been absolutely RUINED and if I was to let Ronan hold the title for just another week this title’s prestige could never be brought back. Thankfully, I’m here to save the day. I have a lot to prove as Interwire Champion, I have the task of making this title the most important thing in professional wrestling, and I also have the task of redeeming my first reign as New Breed Champion. This is my second chance, and you know I’m not gonna miss out on it, because I cannot allow myself to do that. I’ll defend this title against whoever thinks they’re worthy of stepping up to me, I’ll walk into Pain For Pride in Los Angeles as Interwire Champion, and I’ll walk out STILL Interwire Champion, as this reign will be one a lot of people will look up to and try to outmatch, but they will all fail.
Bronson Daniels: And that’s because I change the game, and they don’t. I’m someone who many people will try to replicate, but most will fail. I’m the elite talent that belongs at the top of this company, and I’ll be the one that retires with the most legendary career of all time. But of course, these are nothing more but predictions, and now’s the time I make those predictions come true. A second chapter in my career has been opened, and I’ll guarantee every single person in this audience that I will not disappoint. Not now, not ever.
Bronson Daniels: And there’s no better way than starting off my reign other than inviting someone to choose their own downfall. Yeah, you all heard me right. WHOEVER wants an opportunity to dethrone your Interwire Champion at the grandest stage of them all, PAIN FOR PRIDE, then step the fuck up. I’m giving ANYONE on Showdown, Dynasty, Voltage an opportunity to prove themselves on the big stage. I’ll give y’all a week for someone to step up, but I need to warn you, you’re going to lose at Pain For Pride, so keep that in the back of your mind.
Bronson Daniels: But aye, with that being said, I AM THE MOTHERFUCKING INTERWIRE CHAMPION!!!! And now, I gotta get drunk when I get home. :whew:
(Bronson raises the Interwire Championship in the air once again, with multiple pyros lighting up behind him along with tons of confetti as “Runnin” plays once again. Bronson drops the mic to the ground and leaves the ring as Showdown fades back to commercial.)
(A commercial airs advertising a Jack Ripley ‘EAW 24’ episode recapping his emotional Answers World Championship win back in December.)
(The camera pans back into the arena.)
(The camera cuts to the ring as “BxMxC” by BABYMETAL hits as Jack Ripley slowly makes his way through the curtain; the battlescars from both the match with Xavier Williams at Grand Rampage and the post match assault are still evident. There’s little to no emotion on his face as he stands on the stage looking out at the virtual crowd before slowly makes his way down to the ring.)
Gina Romano: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN…PLEASE WELCOME AT THIS TIME… JACK RIPLEY!!!!
Deadprez: Jack Ripley is showing the battlescars from his match against Xavier Williams, but that’s not just from the match itself, but the post match where Xavier Williams snapped and attacked Jack. By the lack of emotion on Jack’s face, you can tell that he’s not in the best mood possible.
Gavin Kirkland: He went from losing the Answers World Championship to being on the receiving end on the attack by Xavier Williams. Knowing how stubborn Jack Ripley can be, you know that he’s going to be out to prove something.
Eve: People have been wondering what Jack Ripley is going to be talking about. This segment was being promoted as him having “some things to get off his chest,” but what is the exactly?
(Jack Ripley grabs a chair from ringside before entering the ring. Jack places the chair in the middle of the ring before taking a seat on it. He has a microphone in his hand, listening to the reception of the virtual crowd as he entrance music dies down. He tries to think about his words, reflecting on how this season has treated him and he wants to make sure that he expresses that and remains true to himself.)
Jack Ripley: People have been coming up to me, about what occurred with Xavier Williams at Grand Rampage. “Jack, how can Xavier do that to you? “Jack, aren’t you going to get your revenge!” “Jack, what are you going to do about Xavier Williams?” A ton of people believe that I should be having my sights set on Xavier Williams for what he did to me at Grand Rampage. If it was the old version of me, I would have been looking for Xavier, trying to get my revenge. I would have let my anger over what Xavier did get the best of me. I have thought about what I wanted to do all week about the situation with Xavier. The answer that I am going to give you is going to shock many people, but I figured that it’s best for me and the goals that I have in mind. Running and increasing my issues with Xavier would be a step back, so I am going to leave the post-match antics of Xavier alone because I got no time for some salty washed-up has been to put a stop to my goal of getting back in the main event picture and becoming World Champion again. With Xavier, what else do I need to prove to him? I swept Xavier and we didn’t need to go to the third fall. Yeah, I think I have nothing to prove to anyone on whether I’ll be able to defeat Xavier Williams again nor do I think that Xavier is going to be looking at my direction, thinking that this new ‘attitude’ is going to make me want to progress the issues between the two of us. If he has an issue with what I got to say, he knows where to find me, but I got nothing to prove nor do I care about progressing the events from Grand Rampage.
Jack Ripley: With Grand Rampage in the back of my mind, it’s all about Pain for Pride. We’re heading towards the end of the season. A ton of matches are going to be announced within the next month or so for Pain for Pride, but it fucking sucks that I fell short of main eventing Pain for Pride. That’s always been the dream for me and I thought that this season was going to be the season for me to headline, but it wasn’t meant to be. I thought dethroning Jamie O’Hara at Road to Redemption was a sign to greater things to come for me, but I found myself slipping back into the role that I was in before Reasonable Doubt. I was nothing more than a guy who was looking to elevate himself in a championship picture, but my ankle injury made that difficult and I had to see that opportunity to dethrone Consuela Rose Ava go to another man. It sucked, but I kept optimistic that Road to Redemption was my moment. I had been working my ass off since 2018 to make my dreams of being a World Champion a reality and that was torn away before I truly had to get comfortable as champion. A moment that had been building for two years resulted in a three month reign that left me unsatisfied. In a way, it brought me back to Earth. It made me realize that I had these high expectations for myself, because I know the type of talent I am. I know how good I am in this ring and that no one can touch me. I may be falling short in headlining Pain for Pride, but I’m not planning to give up. I am not planning to accept my spot in the lower main event. Oh no, I am not going to give up on continuing my rise to the top and gaining more success. I have accomplished everything that I sent my sights too. My record speaks for itself and I want more success. I’m hungry for more accomplishments and championships. I want to be recognized as the best and a Hall of Famer.
Jack Ripley: I accomplished what I accomplished on my own. Answers World Championship, National Elite Championship, PURE Championship — all of that was because of me. It was because I busted my ass off to wipe the stigma of being a tag team wrestler. Management did everything they could to put me in a box as another ‘tag team guy,’ but failed to realize the star that they had in their hands. Someone who was ‘always the bridesmaid and never the bride’ as that saying goes, but I proved everyone who doubted me wrong. From my colleagues in the back, to the fans to management and everyone else, I had to work that much harder for that main event spot. I wasn’t thrusted into the spot because of who I’m fucking or because I was another bland flavor of the month that would lose its appeal eventually. I scratched and clawed to the top of the mountain and I am going to get back there again. I’m aware that people doubt me and what I’m saying, but it’s things that I’ve heard all before, but it’s difficult when you’re put in a box. Take the 1% for example, we were meant to be three men at the top of their respective games coming together to create something incredible, but it quickly became apparent that I was expected to settle for the things that they believed that they were above. I went from having a promising single’s career to being seen as Theron Nikolas’ and Mr. DEDEDE’s lapdog. Theron tried to make it seem like the 1% would be this amazing thing for me, but it did nothing for me, but since he was my friend, I tried to trudge on, hoping that my moment arrived. Yeah, I held the PURE Championship for a short period of time, but that did nothing, but make me seem like someone who can’t get the job done without having people by his side. As much as I hate Ryan Wilson, I saw him costing me my job on Dynasty as the opportunity to take matters into my hands and prove that I know how to stand on my two feet. I never needed David Davidson or Theron Nikolas, I only needed myself.
(Jack slightly drops his head as he takes a deep breath.)
Jack Ripley: I proved how good that I was. I proved that I have always been a man that never needed someone to carry me forward. It was through MY hard work, MY determination, MY heart that I conquered the world. I was the person that ripped that Answers World Championship out of the hands of Jamie O’Hara and planted my flag into the ground, becoming what I always believed that I could be –
“I see a red door
And I want it painted black
No colors anymore
I want them to turn black…”
(Jack Ripley’s head turns directly to the stage as “Paint It Black” by Hidden Citizens hits; the virtual crowd suddenly ERUPTS as Theron Nikolas slowly makes his way through the curtain. He stands on the stage soaking in the reaction as the hint of a smile crosses his face before locking his eyes of his former 1% stablemate sitting in the ring. The look on the face tells the entire story for Jack Ripley; while the two never reached a boiling point, the disdain was evident the moment that Theron made his way into the arena. Theron slowly makes his way down to the ring, being handed a microphone before making his way up onto the apron and entering the ring. Jack Ripley still sits on the chair in the ring as he turns his eyes away from Theron as “Paint It Black” fades out.)
Theron Nikolas: You’re not planning to give up. You’re not going to accept your spot. You’re not going to give up on that quest to stand at the top of this entire business. The man that sits in front of the world and waits is the man that watches the world pass him by. You’re right. The man that we see sitting here right now is a man built through his own creation. The greatest tag team wrestler in company history. The man that was never meant to come close to what he’s managed to become, still sitting in front of the world without the things that he constantly tells himself that he deserves in his possession.
(Jack grits his teeth as he slowly raises out of the chair and to his feet.)
Theron Nikolas: Praise yourself for your own successes and blame the rest of the world for your failures. It’s not your fault that you stumbled. It’s their fault. It’s their fault that you’ve always managed to take hold of the world and immediately watch as it’s ripped away. You expected the 1% to lift you up and complained when you couldn’t stand on your own two feet. If our intentions were to serve you the things that we believed that we were above – then you never should have had no problem eating your full. But, that never happened. You were embarrassed by Erebus Jennings and immediately lost the PURE Championship. You were forced off of our brand by Ryan Wilson of all people. You had the world sitting in the palm of your hands, and YOU dropped it. It broke my heart watching you turn your back on the 1%, Jack. I could have taken all of it personally, but I decided to let go. I knew that it was going to help you blaze the trail that only Jack Ripley could. I knew that all of it were lessons that were going to help you become everything that you dreamed about becoming. I was right. The battles with Charlie Marr. The war against Jamie O’Hara; proving your worth as being more than what so few were willing to give you credit for. All of it culminating in sitting in the throne that I shattered records in. I was proud, Jack. There wasn’t anybody in this business that was prouder of what you had become. But, the man that stands before me now isn’t that man. You lost more than just the Answers World Championship at Under Siege. You lost yourself.
Theron Nikolas: You stand there content in waiting. You don’t plan on giving up, but there you stand waiting. You’re not going to accept your spot, but there you stand waiting. You’re not going to give up on that quest to stand at the top of this entire business, BUT THERE YOU STAND WAITING. You had that crown ripped off of your head and watched as Consuela Rose Ava walked straight past you to challenge this brand’s new king instead of fighting for the crown you never had the opportunity to truly cherish. Kassidy Heart is out there BEGGING Jamie O’Hara for a match; the guy YOU beat for the Answers World Championship. She won’t look at you twice for the rematch you rightfully deserve; instead Jack Ripley’s pushed aside and forced to compete against a man who’s talent left the world the moment that was embarrassed by Ryan Adams five years ago, and you were expected to be satisfied with it. You found a way to be satisfied with it.
Theron Nikolas: You had the opportunity to look towards a potential future at Grand Rampage. Another man that had the world sitting in the palm of his hand that had absolutely no idea what to do the moment that it was gone. A man that professes that his best days in this business haven’t passed him by, but continuously proves that he’s a man living off a name that died a long time ago. Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle. What are you going to do when that day comes and you’re forced to swallow that bitter pill that the pinnacle of your career was simply pushing someone else’s career forward?
Jack Ripley: Much like Mr. DEDEDE did that for you? It’s easy for Mr. DEDEDE’s golden child to get to that Answers World Championship when you were given the keys to success during your time in the 1%. You were just like Kassidy Heart in a way, Theron. There wasn’t a chance that you were going to fail the moment that we aligned with The Chairman. You had the approval of DEDEDE and he wasn’t going to let someone that he put in a good word fail because that wouldn’t have looked good for him right? You were propelled as the next big thing in this company and there was no one that could take that away from you. We can sit here and pretend that the reason behind the 1% wasn’t to ensure your success, but where what do any of us gain from that, Theron? Theron Nikolas; Ryan Adams’ golden goose, handfed everything that he wanted.
Jack Ripley: I was nothing more than the guy that was expected to believe that he was looked upon as more than just a bag boy. I was never meant to be an equal. It seemed like a father picking favorites and you were always DEDEDE’s favorite while I was left picking up the scrapes that he would throw at me every now and then. But, it’s a feeling that I’ve been used to my entire career. The same people who thought that David Davidsion would be the breakout star of the High Rollerz to people looking at Theron Nikolas as the golden child of this company to having to watch Kassidy Heart walk into my Pain for Pride main event with my championship. Now, I’m left with the position to pick up what is left and that’s something that’s not okay with me. You think that you can approach me and tell me that every setback was my fault and that I dropped the ball of having the 1% in the palm of my hands? No, nothing was dropped from me. It was ripped away from me the moment I got sent packing to Voltage and what happened to Jack Ripley was thanks to me. It wasn’t thanks to the 1% and Mr. DEDEDE and especially, it was no thanks to you, Theron.
(The hint of a smile returns to the face of Theron as Jack Ripley grits his teeth; the emotion in his voice evident as his eyes remain completely locked on the “God Emperor”.)
Theron Nikolas: If you were good enough to stand on our level in the 1% – you would have. There never would have been anything that would have stopped you, Jack! But, instead – you crumbled. The opportunity to begin to cement yourself as one of the cornerstones of this industry; only to have your knees buckle the moment that you had to stand on your own two feet. It had nothing to do with either Ryan or I. It all falls onto your own shoulders, Jack. I took my throne through the culmination of a perfect strategy that I created. I set records as the Answers World Champion because there wasn’t an individual force that could stop me. The most dominant performance inside an Elimination Chamber as a retaining World Champion. The man that made the “Mighty” kneel. The man that slayed the mongrel that humiliated Ryan Adams months prior. If you ever want to attempt to compare yourself to a God Emperor again, just remember that you crumbled the moment that you were given your first real challenge as the Answers World Champion while it took the combined effort of arguably the two greatest of all time, in the greatest match of all time to take it from me. That’s the difference between the two of us.
(Jack and Theron come nose to nose; the smirk on the face of Theron grows bigger.)
Theron Nikolas: So, you can sit there and watch as Kassidy Heart walks into Pain for Pride in the position that you constantly told yourself would be yours; knowing that you spent your time doing nothing while she did so. That doesn’t fall onto my shoulders. That only falls onto your own.
Eve: JACK WITH A RIGHT HAND TO THERON! A SECOND! A THIRD! THE WORDS OF THERON NIKOLAS HAS LIT A FIRE INSIDE JACK RIPLEY WHICH I DON’T BELIEVE WE’VE SEEN SINCE HE LOST THE ANSWERS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP AT UNDER SIEGE! THERON IS FORCED UP AGAINST THE ROPES, TRYING TO COVER UP, BUT JACK DOESN’T RELENT! A COMBINATION OF SHOTS TO THE MIDSECTION AND THE HEAD OF THE GOD EMPEROR! JACK GRABS THAT CHAIR THAT WAS SITTING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING – BUT THERON GOES LOW WITH A DROPKICK TO THE DAMAGED KNEE FROM GRAND RAMPAGE!
Deapdrez: Theron shaking his head as he stands over Jack Ripley who clutches at that right leg. Theron grabs onto the chair before throwing it out of the ring!
(Theron crouches down besides Jack, forcing his knee into the side of Jack’s head.)
Theron Nikolas: It doesn’t have to be this way. It all doesn’t have to end like this. By the time that we reach our end… you’re going to thank me, Jack.
Eve: Theron dragging Jack Ripley back to his feet and putting him into position! JACK IS TRYING TO FIGHT OUT OF IT – GOD’S REQUIEM! THERON NIKOLAS DRIVES HIM BACK INTO THE CANVAS WITH THAT SWINGING REVERSE STO!
(Theron rolls over and sits in the ring, cradling Jack Ripley’s head in his lap as “Paint It Black” by Hidden Citizens picks back up. Theron gets back to his feet, adjusting his leather jacket and leaving the ring. He slowly backs up the ramp shaking his head as Jack Ripley recovers in the ring.)
Deadprez: Theron Nikolas is on Showdown and it seems like he has set his sights on his former 1% brethren, Jack Ripley. I don’t think this is what any of us anticipated!
Gavin Kirkland: I did not anticipate any of this to happen, but holy shit! Theron just knew exactly what to say to set the former Answers World Champion off. That’s the thing with Theron that everyone needs to realize. He knows what to say to get underneath the skin of his competition. That man is the longest reigning Answers World Champion for a reason and it seems like he will be a wonderful addition to the Showdown roster as we head to the road to Pain for Pride!
Eve: By the end of this whole story between Theron and Jack, Jack is going to thank Theron for all of this? I have no idea what he truly means with that and I’m kind of scared to ask. :lupe:
(The scene fades to another commercial break.)
(Commercial for finger food featuring Chris Elite.)
(The camera cuts back to the ring where we see Gina Romano standing in the middle with a microphone in hand.)
Gina Romano: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN THE FOLLOWING CONTEST IS SCHEDULED FOR ONE FALL!!!
World 1 Theatre Crowd: ONE FALL!!!
Gina Romano: INTRODUCING FIRST FROM LONDON, ENGLAND, WEIGHING IN AT TWO HUNDRED FORTY-THREE POUNDS…. HE IS….’THE BLAAAAAACCCCCCKK MAAAAAAAAMMMMBBBBBBBAAAAAAAA’ JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMESSSS
(‘ Raise Up The Lights ‘ by The Siege plays as James Ranger makes his way down the ramp and into the ring where he’s met with a mixed reaction from the crowd.)
(‘ Raise Up The Lights ’ fades out as ‘ Smells Like Teen Spirit’ by Nirvana begins to blast through the World 1 Theatre PA System, as Cage can be seen making his way out from the Guerilla position down the ramp and into the ring as the virtual crowd boo’s him.)
Gina Romano: AND HIS OPPONENT, FROM EDMONTON, ALBERTA, CANADA….WEIGHING IN AT TWO HUNDRED THIRTY POUNDS… HE IS THE MAN KNOWN AS…..CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGEEEEEEEE!!!!
( Ding! Ding! Ding!)
Deadprez: Grand Rampage was not a night Cage wants to remember, seeing as he was eliminated early, a major disappointment considering how close he came to winning the whole thing just a year ago.
Eve: I guess it’s safe to say maybe Cage has regressed a little, but I know he’s going to be on his A-Game tonight as he looks to score a decisive win over James Ranger– who he locks up with in the center of the ring. James Ranger and Cage are locked in a test of strength– but neither man is budging— wait no Cage is moving James Ranger back! Cage ends up getting the best of James Ranger and he has the English elitists hands and fingers being torqued!
Gavin Kirkland: Cage is backing James Ranger up into the corner! I think Cage is just out here to let out his frustrations as he immediately backs Ranger up into the corner and sends a vicious elbow to the head of Ranger– absolutely rattling him! But Cage isn’t stopping there and he backs away and charges in once more SNAPPING James Ranger’s head back with a vicious LARIAT CLOTHESLINE IN THE CORNER! Cage might’ve just given this man whiplash!
Deadprez: But Cage isn’t just stopping there! James Ranger has sunken into the corner and Cage is stomping a mudhole in him! Foot to chest! Foot to midsection! Cage is trying to put his foot through James Ranger! AND IF YOU LOOK CLOSELY YOU CAN SEE THE FOOTPRINT ON THE CHEST OF JAMES! Cage doesn’t care as he continues his assault on the young elitist!
Eve: Cage has James Ranger exactly where he wants him in that corner, and he’s been stomping away at him! But wait— Cage now begins throwing punches and elbows into the face and head of the defenseless James Ranger– if the referee doesn’t do anything James could be seriously injured!!!
Gavin Kirkland: Cage couldn’t care less about what happens to James Ranger, if he ends James Rangers career here tonight, that was his goal in the first place, it puts the entire roster on notice, and it puts a W in the win column for Cage. It’s a win win for him!
Deadprez: It looks like everyone is winning but James Ranger who’s still slumped over in the corner taking the brunt of Cage’s rage! No pun intended- Eve!
Eve: James Ranger is in a really bad spot here, as Cage once more backs away from him—JUST TO CHARGE IN AND DELIVER A KNEE STRAIGHT TO THE FACE OF JAMES RANGER! JAMES RANGER HAS TO BE OUT OF IT AT THIS POINT! CAGE DRAGS JAMES RANGER TO THE CENTER OF THE RING; CAGE PICKS JAMES RANGER UP TO HIS FEET–BACK HAND SLAP, FOLLOWED BY ANOTHER BACK HAND SLAP, AND ANOTHER, AND ANOTHER— FOLLOWED BY A LARIAT DISCUS CLOTHESLINE— I BELIEVE CAGE CALLS THAT THE DIAMOND SAINT SPECIAL!! CAGE GOES FOR THE COVER!
Gavin Kirkland: SOMEHOW SOMEWAY— JAMES RANGER BARELY…AND I MEAN BARELY KICKS OUT JUST BEFORE THE REFEREE’S HAND WAS ABOUT TO TOUCH THE CANVAS FOR THE THREE COUNT!
Deadprez: I always believed James Ranger had heart, but man he is showing the stuff of legends here tonight. Cage once again picks James Ranger up, and delivers a kick to the gut, right before hooking the arms of James—this could be it.. This could be it— the PARADIGM DD– wait no, James Ranger manages to unhook his arm and immediately begins throwing punch after punch into the abdomen and midsection of Cage. James Ranger is just letting loose as Cage is doubled over— James Ranger runs towards the doubled over Cage—- SNAP NECKBREAKER!
Eve: James Ranger getting in some offense here tonight, he almost yanked Cages head off with that snap neckbreaker, and look at the look on Cage’s face you can say he definitely did not expect that.
Gavin Kirkland: James Ranger is back up to his feet though, as well is Cage, and the look in Cage’s eyes tell it all. He knows he was a few seconds away from a victory, and that is the look of a man that is desperate to get his first win in months!
Deadprez: Cage charges at James Ranger– CLOTHESLINE— NO! James Ranger ducks the arm of Cage, and instead grasps his own arms around the waist of Cage in the german suplex position! James has Cage in that german suplex position, but instead of going for the suplex James instead spins Cage out and pulls him back in with a KNEE TO THE FACE! A VICIOUS KNEE TO THE FACE SHADES OF THE KNEE CAGE GAVE TO JAMES IN THE OPENING MOMENTS OF THIS MATCH! Turnabout is fair play as they say!
Eve: Cage doesn’t look like he ever knows where he is after taking that knee to the face! BUT JAMES ISN’T CONCERNED WITH THAT AS HE QUICKLY GRABS CAGE AND PULLS HIM IN WITH A SNAP DDT!! I BELIEVE JAMES RANGER CALLS THAT THE NOON DOUBLE– EITHER WAY IT CONNECTS AND JAMES RANGER HOOKS THE LEG!
Gavin Kirkland: Cage gets the shoulder up and this match continues!!!! James Ranger can barely believe what he’s seeing! James Ranger pulls Cage in once more—NOONDA- NO CAGE BREAKS FREE– CAGE KICKS JAMES RANGER IN THE MIDSECTION— AND JAMES IS DOUBLED OVER– CAGE HOOKS THE ARMS— PARADIGM DDT!! PARADIGM DDT!! CAGE HITS I- NO JAMES SHIFTS HIS WEIGHT AT THE VERY LAST MINUTE CAUSING CAGE TO LOSE HIS BALANCE AND FALL DOWN INSTEAD!!
DeadPrez: CAGE IS ABSOLUTELY PISSED OFF! HE’S BACK ON HIS FEET AND HE’S CHASING JAMES RANGER AND CAGE MAY CATCH JAMES— AND HE DOES– CAGE PULLS JAMES RANGER BACK— BUT JAMES RANGER INSTEAD DROPS DOWN TO THE MAT AND ROLLS CAGE UP!!! JAMES RANGER WITH THE SCHOOLBOY ROLL UP ON CAGE, SITTING ON IT!! THE PIN IS LEGIT AS THE REFEREE GOES FOR THE COUNT!
( Ding! Ding! Ding!)
( ‘ Raise Up The Lights ‘ by The Siege hits as James Ranger quickly rolls out of the ring and makes his exit via the ramp before Cage can get to him )
Gina Romano: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN…THE WINNER OF THIS MATCH…… JAAAAAAAAMMMMMESSSSSSSSSSS RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNGGGGGEEEEEERRRRR!!!!
DeadPrez: WHAT A VICTORY FOR JAMES RANGER! IT ISN’T OFTEN YOU GET THE CHANCE TO BEAT A HALL OF FAMER, BUT THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT HE DID HERE TONIGHT!
Eve: Cage’s anger got the best of him here tonight and that led to his inevitable downfall. Cage’s losing streak continues!
(The camera shows Cage heading up the ramp kicking electrical equipment and boxes in frustration obviously mad and upset at how his match just went.)
(The camera shows Cage hitting stage equipment in frustration before walking out of the arena before fading to commercial.)
(Commercial of Londyn Zelaya once again advertising her OnlyFans.)
The camera fades to black as a video recapping the two out of three falls match between Jack Ripley and Xavier Williams at Grand Rampage begins to play. The highlight video begins with instances of the early exchanges, both trying to put the other away early with both the Death’s Dance and You’ll Float Too respectively. It moves onto both Xavier and Jack in control, with Xavier seemingly in control with the swinging enziguri and springboard forearm smash to the back of the head, setting Jack up for the Death’s Dance before Jack counters into the sunset flip and getting the first fall. The video begins to fracture as the shot shows the look on the face of Xavier as he snaps and begins to target the knee of Jack Ripley. We see the referee drag Xavier away from Jack before he pushes past and runs straight into the Superkick, before kicking out and managing to take control back. We see Xavier lock in the Oathbreaker and Jack Ripley refusing to quit. Xavier hitting the Death’s Dance and Jack Ripley just managing to kick out. The video continues to fracture as the desperation in the eyes of Xavier is evident. We see Xavier jump off the top rope, looking for the finishing blow, only for Jack to hit him with the You’ll Float Too in mid air followed by the Shooting Star Press for the victory and clean sweep. The video cuts to a shot of Xavier sitting in the corner as the referee raises the arm of Jack Ripley before cutting to shots of Xavier years ago. It shows Xavier as the New Breed Champion, then sitting atop of a ladder at Pain for Pride VII with the Cash in the Vault briefcase, a shot as EAW World Champion and walking into his Hall of Fame Championship match against Mr. DEDEDE at Pain for Pride IX. All moments that signify the pedestal that he once stood on compared to where he finds himself now. That’s when the video cuts to Xavier’s attack after the match. It shows him blindsiding Jack Ripley as he was leaving the ring, sending him head first into the steel steps and the referee into the barricade. We watch as Xavier hits the Death’s Dance on the thin padding that covers the concrete flooring outside of the ring as echoes of Xavier screaming “BEST… IN THE WORLD” are heard. We see a final shot of Xavier standing on the stage looking down at the damage he had caused as medical staff tend to the downed Jack Ripley before the video ends. )
(The camera cuts to Xavier Williams sitting in a darkened room; a single spotlight shines down above his head. Xavier sits in his usual casual, sporting an old version of his grey hooded jacket with “BITW” embroidered on the front. He slowly looks up at the camera as he begins to speak.)
Xavier Williams: It feels like it’s been a long time since I’ve actually been happy in this business. I’ve spent an entire year trying to rebuild a legacy that I had seemingly destroyed; being the person that the world spent years trying to force me to believe that I always should have been. That I didn’t need to be the man that took this business around the throat and once conquered it in almost record time, because that side of myself was ultimately the reason why I once had such a great downfall. I tried to allow everything to roll off of my shoulders; that eventually I would shatter through that proverbial glass ceilings that sit over our heads and retake the position in this company that I once called home. But, as each day passed us by – it began to feel like that day was only getting further and further away. It didn’t feel like I was moving forward with the names that I overcame, but instead it felt like I was taking steps back. I wasn’t earning respect. I was still looked upon as a man that was well past his expiry date in this business; forced to watch as names that I constantly proved that I was far better than we allowed the opportunities to succeed, while I sat back and waited for the chances that were never going to come. I had to sit back and pretend to smile as people around me took hold of the things that I wanted. Justin Windgate becoming the Interwire Champion. Ronan Malosi being handed the chance to take Justin’s title. Bronson Daniels continuously proving since King of Elite that he just can’t cut it with the top of this company, still being afforded chances that he doesn’t deserve, while I’m disrespected. While I’m judged. While I’m looked down upon. I put everything that I physically could at Grand Rampage. I told myself that I needed to consider it the biggest match of my career, because I didn’t know where I would find myself if I wasn’t able to beat Jack Ripley. But, the combination of pressure and necessity cut my legs out from under me the moment that I stepped foot inside that ring.
Xavier Williams: There aren’t too many words that I can use to explain what went through my head when I watched the referee raise his hand. It was like everything that I had endured, not since I returned last year, but in that last five years finally surfaced. I was tired of pretending to be someone that I’m not. I’m tired of being forced to settle for less than someone with my resume, my legacy, my talent deserves. I’ve been told it countless times; you’re right, I am fucking jaded. It turns my stomach to see how I’m looked upon. I fucking hate their idea that I’ve gone from being this company’s crown jewel to just another inconsequential part. I sit here after doing what I did to Jack Ripley and I still have no idea what awaits me upon the horizon. I’ve contemplated walking away, but I’m not going to give the rest of you the satisfaction of knowing that I did what everyone has told me to do. It’s time that I stop waiting. It’s time that I stop being the person that I’ve never been. It’s time that I step forward and truly take my place back where I belong, and if that means that I have to cut down everything that stands in my way to do so – I’m going to do all of it willingly. What I did to Jack Ripley wasn’t personal, but everything that I do from this point forward is going to be. It’s time that I stop suffering, and that the rest of you are forced to endure the repercussions for my torment. This may be my final run forward, but if this leads to my end – I’m going to take as many of you down with me. By the time I lay down my boots you’re going to have no choice but to acknowledge me for everything that you refuse to see. Not that I’m just another legend or another Hall of Famer. That I am Xavier Williams, and that I am the Best… in the World.
(Xavier gets out of the seat and leaves the camera’s frame as the camera cuts elsewhere.)
(The camera cuts to black before transitioning to see Kyra Phillips sitting down, with a smile on her face.)
Kyra Phillips: Hello everybody, and welcome to this exclusive interview. Please welcome my guest at this time, Dr. Bethany Blue.
(The camera pans to the side and sees Dr. Bethany Blue dressed nicely in a white dress, open toed Louboutin pumps, crossing her legs. She sits across from Kyra with a smile on her face.)
Kyra Phillips: Thanks for taking the time to sit down with me tonight.
Dr. Bethany Blue: It’s my pleasure and yours, Kyra.
Kyra Phillips: I just wanna start with Under Siege. How did it feel to finally get yourself back on track after what some people would call a “bumpy” season in a match with a Hall Of Famer in his own environment? Mix that in with finally getting revenge on Ryan for what he has put you through.
Dr. Bethany Blue: It was what the Doctor ordered, to be honest, after the trials and tribulations I have been through all Season 14 where some people have questioned if I can defeat the best, which I have, though admittedly have fallen short on a few occasions on Showdown, defeating Cage in his own environment has made me the NEW Hardcore Icon in the EAW which I have excelled in these type of matches since my inception into this company which I never thought possible, but as a Doctor I can take care of myself, help me heal faster, it makes me that much more lethal. As for Ryan Wilson, that was more personal, he lasted this long as GM because of ONE person, ME. I convinced Alexis to help him at Territorial Invasion, the rest of the team did it begrudgingly, not me. Ryan was my friend, not just my boss, it hurts that it came down to this, but defeating him was the weight lifted off my shoulders, I can move forward and finish this season strong after many ups and downs.
Kyra Phillips: No doubt. And after that followed a new GM, and new opportunities came with that. Apparently, Hawk said there were none available, so you took it upon yourself to create one going after the Specialists Championship. What caused you to target her?
Dr. Bethany Blue: No opportunities. Do you know how that made me feel, Kyra? When you look at the new boss, he showers you with praise after praise, we have one of the biggest events coming up in Grand Rampage, and then he practically lifts me up to drop me on my head saying he has nothing for me? That was a slap in the face, I walked out of that office and I wanted to cry, because I see now what my worth is on Showdown, it’s not good enough to put me on Grand Rampage or even line me up for an opportunity? What!? Are you serious right now? No! That was not going to be the case, so yes, I decided it was time to make my own opportunity then, I chose Constance Blevins, look at the time it was nothing personal, her former tag team partner, Minerva is a patient of mine, I simply wanted what I couldn’t win last Season, the Specialists Championship, it is a belt that I know I can elevate into one of the most important championships in the EAW and continue it’s tradition.
Kyra Phillips: Speaking of the Specialists Championship. Last year’s Grand Rampage comes to mind. You’ve been pretty vocal about it for a year. Did that play a factor, to you know, wanting to overcome that demon?
(Bethany stops for a moment, uncrossing her legs, leaning in and looking visibly upset.)
Dr. Bethany Blue: Do you know how it feels to be sitting in the locker room after suffering the most embarrassing and humiliating loss when I had complete control of most of that match only for Darcy May Morgan to come back from a separated shoulder the referee should have stopped the match and awarded me the championship. Instead nothing I did and the play by play announcers made sure to make a point of this, I could do against her, suddenly I am inept, she had an answer to everything I did, so yes, after the feeling I had, it has haunted me, it is a demon I need to exercise, not just her, but the Specialists Championship, so baby steps, Kyra… Baby steps.
Kyra Phillips: Some questions the way you’ve handled yourself leading up to this match–
Dr. Bethany Blue: Like who?
Kyra Phillips: :krabs:
(The Good Doctor has that mean stare at Kyra, not taking her glaring baby brown eyes off her.)
Kyra Phillips: Just some people. Like how you “vaccinated” Constance.
Dr. Bethany Blue: I love how I try to do something good for someone and I am questioned. Have you had your vaccinations yet, Kyra?
Kyra Phillips: Yes mam! No worries with me!
Dr. Bethany Blue: Good.
Kyra Phillips: People were just wondering, what did you inject her with back at Grand Rampage? Considering you already gave her the Johnson & Johnson one shot a few weeks ago?
Dr. Bethany Blue: Ketamine. It’s used in anesthesia, to put a person to sleep in a matter of moments. I gave Constance a very light dose, enough to knock her silly for about an hour. Learn that you don’t come into my office and harass or get violent when I am off the wrestling clock. See, Kyra I could have taken Constance’s eye out, I wanted her to see just how dangerous and how quickly things can turn for someone. I could have, but I didn’t for one reason, I want her to watch me raise that Specialists Championship in Egypt. She should be thanking me, without a Vaccine Passport, you can’t even get into Egypt, I was protecting my investment into the Specialists Championship here.
Kyra Phillips: :wow: Well, what would being Specialists Champion mean to you, being that we’re so close to Pain for Pride?
Dr. Bethany Blue: Everything. I want to prove to the entire EAW that I can make the Specialists Championship just as if not more important than any of the other titles these Elitists cherish and always put so much emphasis on. Constance is a great champion, I’m not taking anything away from her, but I will be a better one. I can’t lose this match, Kyra, I refuse to feel that way again, ever. Walking into Pain for Pride as a champion would mean more to me than anything, to defend it against whomever wants to step up, traditionally it has been a Scramble, I watched Sarah Price win it last year, a woman who took the title from Darcy and I defeated on two separate occasions, so I know that I can win the belt and defend it proudly like a Specialists Doctor would.
Kyra Phillips: Understandable. About Voltage tomorrow night, you are returning back to the Yellow Brand, the place you made a name for yourself last season. Do you think you guys will work together enough to be able to defeat the Corona Hombres tomorrow night?
(The Good Doctor chuckles a little, shaking her head.)
Dr. Bethany Blue: That’s up to Constance, I know that I am going into that match ready to win and the history between Terrence Chambers and I? TLA? All the personal stuff involved? Yes, I am walking into Voltage to defeat the Corona Hombres, Constance needs to do one thing, shut her mouth, listen and learn. She is a Tag Team Specialist, now she has to learn how to team with someone who can carry her if she has to. Constance, what is it going to be? I know I’m walking out a winner, are you? All up to her, Kyra.
Kyra Phillips: Do you have any closing statements you want to say to Constance, and the rest of the world?
Dr. Bethany Blue: I’m tired of being overlooked, I am tired of being undervalued and I am tired of being told there is nothing for me when I see others like Bronson Daniels, Ronan Malosi and Turkey Buzzard Roberts getting marquee matches and title opportunities yet I am told there is NOTHING? No, Kyra, what that meant to me was an open invitation to do whatever the hell I want moving forward and who is going to stop me? Ryan couldn’t. Cage couldn’t, NONE of them could. Put all your attention on the Kassidy Heart’s, Darcy May Morgan’s, New Eden’s and Ms. Extreme’s, while I quietly rise to the very top and before you know it, my name will be spoken in the same breath as theirs. For now though? Constance Blevins, you’re on the clock, and it’s ticking… bitch.
Kyra Phillips: Well, that’s all I’ve got. Thank you for your time tonight, and I wish you the best of luck tomorrow night, and then at Battle Of Egypt.
Dr. Bethany Blue: Thank you very much, but I won’t need luck. Now Kyra…. About that check-up you have been neglecting all season….
(Kyra’s eyes widened as Bethany nods and smiles.)
(The camera pans backstage where we see Andrea Valentine stretching before her match with Lucas Johnson.)
???: Andrea, what’s going on?
Andrea Valentine: Consuela! How is going with you?
(Consuela walks up into the frame in casual attire, both Beating Heart sisters look into each other’s eyes.)
Consuela Rose Ava: Just fine. Trying to figure out where my path takes me during this time of the season now that I came up short of dethrone Kassidy.
Andrea Valentine: Consuela, if it means anything, I thought you two had the match of the night, and the match could have gone either way. You’ve been showing just how much you want to be a World Champion since losing the Interwire Championship, and that loss didn’t make anybody think otherwise, you made every doubter a believer that day will soon come for you.
(Consuela is a bit taken back by Andrea’s kindness, but still smiles.)
Consuela Rose Ava: Thanks, it means alot. And hey, it was good to see you come back the way you did. You unfairly got your ankle snapped by Xavier for something that you didn’t do. It was all amazing to see, untl–
(Andrea stops Consuela mid sentence.)
Andrea Valentine: Is this about what happened after when I threw Raven out of the match due to my anger?
(Consuela takes a second to answer.)
Consuela Rose Ava: I mean, what else would it be? I just don’t understand it Andrea. With the antics you pulled in Grand Rampage with both my sister and Raven. You stood beside both of them when you conquered War Games together, you were a bridesmaid in her wedding, she’s one of the people who truly always had your back no matter what. I just want to know what was going through your head, because you and I both know Raven ain’t going to forget what you did very easily.
(Andrea puts her hands on her waist as she lets out a deep sigh.)
Andrea Valentine: I eliminated her, simple as that.
Consuela Rose Ava: Andrea, she eliminated you. You went in and blindsided her from behind and eliminated her out of anger.
Andrea Valentine: Consuela, you know me better than most people around here, and I will tell you right now, in the moment, I just feel I did what I had to do. I have no hatred or malice towards Raven, but it just happened. It doesn’t matter who eliminated me, I would have done the same exact thing no matter who it was. It’s kind of hard to explain it all right now especially on the spot.
(Consuela doesn’t know what to think, because she’s always the person who looks for the good in people, especially a close friend like Andrea, but it’s hard to believe for her at the second.)
Consuela Rose Ava: Your attitude when you shoved Stephie earlier this season and snapped on Veena, and since you came to Showdown…with the way you were towards Jamie, and what went down with Harlow–
(Andrea once again cuts her off.)
Andrea Valentine: And can you blame me honestly? With the shit I’ve been through, something just snapped. Anybody else in my position would react the same way, and you and everybody else are singling me out? I don’t know what it is and I certainly can’t tell you right now. I’ll just leave you with this, I don’t want to burn any bridges, but I don’t feel bad in any way for how things went down the way they did.
Consuela Rose Ava: I don’t know if you saw, but Raven was pretty vocal how she felt about the entire thing in her video this past week. She thought a bridge was burnt, and I don’t want that to happen.
(Andrea shrugs her shoulders.)
Consuela Rose Ava: Not just your recent behavior this past season, let’s also not forget you stabbing Camille in the back during the Grand Rampage match. It just seems like pretty soon, you’re gonna end up standing alone with nobody to back you up. I know deep down, you don’t want that.
Andrea Valentine: Consuela, it was every person for themselves. You’re really gonna stand here and lecture me on that? There’s been many instances of that happening in Grand Rampage. I know Camille being the competitor she is, understands.
???: Why am I not surprised?
(Raven enters the picture next to Consuela as she stands face to face with Andrea.)
Raven Roberts: Consuela, I love you, but don’t believe anything that comes out of her mouth about how she feels the slightest bit of remorse for the shit she pulled last weekend. I think it’s just a lost cause at this point. Andrea just knows you got that soft side in you and she’s taking advantage of it to the fullest, and she’s going to stab you in the back, much like she did with your sister and me last weekend.
(Andrea bites her top lip as she crosses her arms and stares back at Raven.)
Andrea Valentine: Like I said Raven, it’s hard to explain right now, but I didn’t do what I did out of hatred or any malice. At the end of the day, you can believe me or not, but it’s the truth. I know you’re angry with me, but in time I know you’ll get over it because deep down, you know you would do the exact same thing to me if given the chance. In this business, it’s a dog eat dog world.
Raven Roberts: I never thought in my wildest dreams someone who I thought would stand by me no matter what, would take away my dream of headlining Pain for Pride again the way you did after you of all people know the hardships I had to face both in my personal life and in my career. I’m not here crying expecting you to just hand me the win on a silver platter. Throwing me out while in the match is one thing, but afterwards, it showed me one thing, that you care about only one thing, and one thing only, which is yourself. All the attention must be on you, right? Like Consuela said, when you returned, I was happy for you and ready to see you kick ass after having your ankle shattered, and it’s a damn shame you took the route you did.
Andrea Valentine: Look Raven, we’ve been through a lot, it was nothing personal. I did what I thought I had to do in the moment. and if you don’t want to believe me, fine. I’ll move on with my career. If you want to cut ties with me over it, don’t think I’m going to lose any sleep. I am chasing another World Championship, and honestly, this might just be dragging me down. It all boils down to the old expression, “it is what it is.”
Raven Roberts: I guess so.
(Consuela stands off to the side, and it hurts her to see the two of them going back and forth.)
Consuela Rose Ava: Guys…
(After several seconds of silence, both Andrea and Raven walk in opposite directions, leaving Consuela to stand alone in the scene, and she doesn’t know what to say as the scene fades to black.)
(Commercial break advertising the match between Cameron Ella Ava vs. Darcy May Morgan at Battle Of Egypt II.)
(The camera cuts to Gina Romano in the ring.)
Gina Romano: THE FOLLOWING CONTEST IS SCHEDULED FOR…ONE FALL!!
Virtual Crowd: ONE FALL!!
(‘Young and Bitter’ by Hot Tag Media plays to a negative reaction from the virtual fans, who Lucas Johnson steadily ignores as he strolls down to the ring, laser focused on the match ahead.)
Gina Romano: Introducing first! Hailing out of Long Island, New York, weighing in at 210 pounds…HE IS THE WRESTLING MACHINE…LUCAS JOHNSON!!!
Eve: Grand Rampage didn’t work out for Lucas Johnson, so tonight, he seeks to gain momentum elsewhere by knocking off a former EAW World Champion in Andrea Valentine.
Deadprez: Former EAW World Champion, and not to mention, freshly returned. This match could seriously raise Lucas Johnson’s stock here on Showdown.
Eve: Yeah, Lucas Johnson has practically been on a mission, and has an amazing opportunity tonight as we head into Pain for Pride season.
Gavin Kirkland: I don’t know why, this is big dick Lucas Johnson we’re talking about here, if you ask me, he’s already proven himself!
(Lucas Johnson settles in his corner while ‘Young and Bitter’ fades out and is replaced with “Roll With Me” by Charli XCX to a mixed reaction from the crowd as Andrea Valentine makes her way down the ring.)
Gina Romano: And his opponent! Hailing out of Orlando, Florida, weighing in at 110 pounds…ANDREA VALENTINE!!
Eve: We talk about this woman being recently returned, and with said return, it seems she may have brought back a new attitude.
Deadprez: Keyword: seems. She may have looked apologetic earlier, but that could easily be a ploy.
Eve: You have the right to be a bit skeptical, Prez, hell, even I am, but I think many are watching at home are as well, given the mixed reaction Andrea got tonight. She may be playing nice now, but we know that woman can tap into her true nature at any time. You just have to wonder if those words she exchanged with Raven earlier affects her psyche tonight.
Gavin Kirkland: I don’t care what you guys think, I say she’s trustworthy and very much hotter than before. :shaq:
(Andrea settles into her respective corner, opposite to Lucas, and both competitors stare each other down as the referee signals for the bell to ring.)
(DING! DING! DING!)
Eve: There’s the bell, and this match is officially underway! NO TIE UPS HERE AS LUCAS JOHNSON IMMEDIATELY CHARGES IN AT ANDREA, WHO SIDESTEPS, SIMULTANEOUSLY SENDING LUCAS JOHNSON INTO THE CORNER SHE WAS JUST IN! AND ANDREA DELIVERS A SPINNING BACK FIST TO THE CORNERED JOHNSON! AND LOOK AT ANDREA! SHE FOLLOWS UP WITH A FEW PUNCHES AND KICKS IN THAT CORNER!
Deadprez: LUCAS JOHNSON IS STUNNED AND THE REFEREE INTERVENES, BACKING ANDREA AWAY, CREATING SOME SEPARATION BETWEEN THE TWO! THE REFEREE CHECKS ON LUCAS WHILE ANDREA COMPLETELY BACKS HERSELF INTO THE OPPOSITE CORNER! THE REFEREE MOVES AWAY FROM LUCAS AS ANDREA CRASHES INTO HIM WITH A HANDSPRING BACK ELBOW SMASH!
Eve: LUCAS STUMBLES OUT OF THE CORNER AND GETS TAKEN DOWN WITH A RUNNING BULLDOG FROM VALENTINE! ANDREA LOOKS FOR THE COVER, BUT LUCAS WISELY ROLLS OUT OF THE RING, JUST BEING OVERWHELMED BY VALENTINE, WHO PURSUES LUCAS ON THE OUTSIDE! ANDREA GRABS AHOLD OF HIS HAIR BEFORE SLAMMING HIM DOWN FACE FIRST ON THE APRON!
Deadprez: LUCAS GETS SENT BACK INTO THE RING BY VALENTINE, WHO BEGINS TO SCALE THE TOP ROPE, UNBEKNOWNST TO JOHNSON! ANDREA LEAPS OFF THE TOP TURNBUCKLE WITH A DIVING CROSSBODY, AND SHE HOOKS BOTH LEGS FOR A PIN OFF OF THAT!
Deadprez: EXPLOSIVE KICKOUT BY LUCAS JOHNSON THERE, SHOWING HE HAS SOME MORE FIGHT LEFT IN HIM! LUCAS USES THE ROPES TO HELP BRING HIM BACK TO HIS FEET, LUCAS CUTS THAT OFF WITH A SHOT TO THE MIDSECTION THAT DOUBLES ANDREA, AND HE SENDS HER OUT THROUGH THE MIDDLE ROPE! LUCKILY, ANDREA LANDS ON HER FEET AND LOOKS TO QUICKLY SLIDE BACK INTO THE RING!
Eve: LUCAS STOPS HER FROM GETTING ANYWHERE BACK TO HER FEET WITH SOME STOMPS, JUST PUMMELING ANDREA VALENTINE BEFORE BRINGING HER BACK UP TO HER FEET! AND LUCAS PLANTS HER DOWN WITH A SPIKE DDT, SHE MIGHT BE OUT HERE!
Gavin Kirkland: I’m so conflicted, this is a match between the two best wrestlers here on Showdown, one of them having the finest ass..ets! :mjlit:
Deadprez: MEANWHILE IN THE RING, LUCAS SWITCHES TO A NEW PLAN OF ACTION AFTER THAT KICKOUT, HE’S JUST WEARING ANDREA DOWN WITH A GATOR ROLL! LUCAS JOHNSON IS JUST SHOWING OFF THAT TECHNICAL PROWESS OF HIS, AND SPEAKING OF HIS TECHNICAL PROWESS, HE LOCKS IN A CROSSFACE AFTER ROLLING ANDREA TO THE CENTER OF THE RING!
Eve: AND MAKE NO MISTAKE ABOUT IT, LUCAS HAS THAT CROSSFACE IN TIGHT! HE IS WRENCHING ALL THE WAY BACK, IF JOHNSON KEEPS ON THAT AMOUNT PRESSURE ON THE HEAD AND NECK, ANDREA MAY HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO TAP HERE! BUT LOOK AT ANDREA, SHE REVERSES THE CROSSFACE INTO A PIN WITH THE LEG OF JOHNSON HOOKED, LUCAS STILL HAS THAT CROSSFACE IN, HOWEVER, AS THE REFEREE GETS INTO POSITION!
Deadprez: LUCAS RELEASES THE CROSSFACE HOLD SO HE CAN KICK OUT! ANDREA GETS TO A KNEE, FAVORING THAT HEAD AND NECK AREA BEFORE LUCAS BOOTS VALENTINE IN THE SIDE OF HER HEAD! LUCAS GETS ANDREA UP TO A SEATED POSITION AND TRAPS HER IN A REAR CHINLOCK! ANDREA WASTES NO TIME IN GETTING BACK TO HER FEET, BUT LUCAS TRANSITIONS THE CHINLOCK INTO A STANDING REAR NAKED CHOKE NOW!
Eve: ANDREA COULD BE GOING TO SLEEP REAL SO- WAIT! ANDREA BACKPEDALS SO THE BACK OF LUCAS COLLIDES WITH THE CORNER! LUCAS KEEPS THAT REAR NAKED CHOKE IN AS ANDREA STUMBLES OUT OF SAID CORNER, WHICH CAUSES ANDREA TO RAM HIM INTO THE CORNER ONCE MORE, WHICH MAKES LUCAS RELEASE IT! ANDREA COMES STUMBLING OUT OF THAT CORNER WHILE LUCAS STAYS STUNNED IN IT!
Deadprez: ANDREA GETS HER WITS ABOUT HER AND RUNS AT JOHNSON, WHO ATTEMPTS TO BACK BODY DROP OVERHEAD AND TO THE OUTSIDE! BUT ANDREA CATCHES HERSELF ON THE APRON! LUCAS REALIZES THIS AND TURNS AROUND, ONLY TO EAT A FOREARM SMASH THAT STAGGERS HIM! ANDREA ATTEMPTS TO CLIMB THE TOP ROPE NOW! BUT LUCAS CUTS HER OFF BEFORE SHE CAN, SLAMMING HER DOWN FACE FIRST ON THE TOP TURNBUCKLE!
Gavin Kirkland: NOT THE FACE!!! :damn:
Eve: LUCAS STEPS OUT ON THE APRON AND GRABS THE DAZED ANDREA FROM BEHIND WITH A REAR WAISTLOCK! LUCAS ATTEMPTS TO LAND A GERMAN SUPLEX ON THE APRON! BUT ANDREA HOOKS HER ARM ON THE TOP ROPE, NOT ALLOWING LUCAS TO DO SO! AND ANDREA LANDS A SWIFT BACK ELBOW TO THE JAW OF JOHNSON, WHICH SENDS HIM REELING BACK!
Deadprez: ANDREA TURNS TO LUCAS ON THE APRON, BUT IMMEDIATELY HAS TO DUCK AS LUCAS ATTEMPTED TO LAND THE LIGHTSWITCH CLAYMORE KICK OF HIS! BUT HIS FOOT ENDED UP COLLIDING WITH THE PIECE THAT CONNECTS THE RINGPOST AND TOP TURNBUCKLE TOGETHER! ANDREA SLIPS INTO THE RING WHILE LUCAS FAVORS HIS LEG OUT ON THE APRON! ANDREA CHARGES OFF THE ROPES! AND HITS A RUNNING DROPKICK THAT KNOCKS LUCAS OFF THE APRON!
Eve: ANDREA MOVES ONTO THE APRON AND COMES DOWN ON THE GROGGY JOHNSON WITH A METEORA! ANDREA QUICKLY ROLLS LUCAS BACK INTO THE RING! ANDREA SLIDES IN HERSELF AND GRABS THE ARM OF THE DOWNED JOHNSON! IT LOOKS LIKE SHE’S GONNA ATTEMPT THE XOX- NO! LUCAS USED ANDREA’S HOLD OVER HIM TO HIS ADVANTAGE AS HE PULLED HER INTO A WICKED CLOTHESLINE!
Deadprez: LUCAS TAKE THIS SLIVER OF OPPORTUNITY TO CLIMB THE TOP ROPE! LUCAS HAS ANDREA LINED UP IN HIS CROSSHAIRS AS IT LOOKS AS IF HE’S GONNA SOAR OFF! BUT ANDREA CUTS HIM OFF AND HEADS UP TO THE TOP ROPE WITH HIM! ANDREA BALANCES HERSELF ON THE TOP ROPE, BUT LUCAS SLIDES UNDERNEATH HER LEGS AND DOWN TO THE MAT! LUCAS GRABS AHOLD OF VALENTINE’S LEG AND PULLS IT OUT FROM UNDER HER!
Eve: ANDREA’S FACE JUST HIT HARD ON THE TOP ROPE AS SHE STUMBLES BACK INTO THE KILLSWITCH FROM JOHNSON! THE SKULL CRUSHING FINALE MAY GET THE JOB DONE HERE AS LUCAS MAKES THE COVER!!
Eve: NO! ANDREA KICKS OUT! LUCAS AND ANDREA BOTH BEGIN TO GET THEIR FEET, LUCAS IS QUICKER THAN THE KNEELING ANDREA, AND REIGNS DOWN UPON HER WITH A FEW JABS! LUCAS BRINGS VALENTINE UP TO HER FEET AND ATTEMPTS THE RKO! BUT ANDREA SHOVES HIM OFF AND INTO THE ROPES! LUCAS COMES BACK WITH A CLOTHESLINE, BUT ANDREA DUCKS UNDER IT! AND A BACKSTABBER FROM VALENTINE SENDS LUCAS DOWN TO THE MAT!
Deadprez: ANDREA GRABS THE DOWNED LUCAS’ ARM AGAIN AND THIS TIME HITS THE XOXO! THAT INVERTED STOMP FACEBREAKER! LUCAS GRIPS AT HIS JAW AS HE TRIES TO GET BACK UP AFTER SAID MOVE! BUT ANDREA MAKES SURE HE STAYS DOWN WITH LOVE HAZE!! THE RUNNING CORKSCREW NECKBREAKER MAY HAVE JUST PUT AN END TO JOHNSON’S NIGHT AS VALENTINE MAKES THE COVER!
(DING! DING! DING!)
Gina Romano: HERE ISS YOUR WINNER…ANDREA VALENTINE!!
(“Roll With Me” plays once more as Andrea gets her hand raised in the air by the referee, much to her happiness.)
Eve: Well, there you have it. Andrea Valentine is successful in her Showdown return, and proving herself to still be a threat to the rest of the Showdown roster.
Deadprez: Yeah, and you gotta feel for Lucas. You could tell just how badly he wanted this match tonight, but he fell short after a valiant effort. Nothing to be ashamed of at all–
Gavin Kirkland: WE MUST ALL REJOICE! ANDREA WINS!!! :shaq:
(The camera fades out on a shot of Andrea Valentine celebrates up the ramp before heading to the back. Lucas holds the back of his head in some pain as he shakes his head in disappointment.)
(Final commercial break.)
(The camera opens inside the office of Hurricane Hawk, who’s doing work on his computer before Kelton barges in and leans forward on the desk, practically getting face to face with Hawk.)
Jon Kelton: Look, I am one of the best elitists you have on this brand, ok? I am a former 24/7 Contract Holder, I am a former Interwire Champion, not to mention, the guy who beat a Hall of Famer in the form of Cage a few weeks ago, which I’m here to demand an opportunity from you.
(Hawk just gives Kelton an amused smirk.)
Hurricane Hawk: Kelton, why would I give you an opportunity right now? It’s not like you deserve one since you’ve practically came up short each time you’ve been placed in one, good ones at that. I mean, you had the 24/7 Contract, something that was almost guaranteed to make you a champion again here, and you blew it. You competed in the Extreme Elimination Chamber, and you blew it. You competed against Bronson for number one contendership at the World Title, and despite the interference from Lucas, you blew it. More recent example, you just competed in the Grand Rampage match, and you blew it. You didn’t get a single elimination and you were out within a blink of an eye. Trust me, the last thing you deserve right now is an opportunity.
Jon Kelton: First off, Lucas interfered and attacked ME. Second, I took care of him shortly after. And third, yeah, not everything has worked out well for me around here. And yeah, I didn’t last long in the Grand Rampage match, but despite that, I still carried the Showdown flag every week leading up to the event, something most of the supposed “top stars” of this brand weren’t even doing. And you’re tryna say I don’t deserve an opportunity? Give me a break, despite my losses, I have still worked my ass off day and night to be the competitor I am today, and I know you see that Hawk, I also know you see I’m tired of waiting and I’m usually a patient man. But not now, not with Pain For Pride being right around the corner, I want an opportunity of some sort around here, Hawk. Because I know there’s a difference between the man I am today and the man that lost the 24/7 Contract, and I’m just tryna show the rest of the world that.
Hurricane Hawk: You’re right, you are a different man than you were when you lost the contract, you showed that in your match with Cage and in your victory earlier tonight. And look…
(Hawk thinks to himself for a second.)
Hurricane Hawk: You want an opportunity? Perhaps one has opened up for you with Battle Of Egypt right around the corner. Because as you know, Andre Walker will be defending his New Breed Title in a gauntlet match, and since there is quite a few competitors needed in said gauntlet match, what do you say about being the first participant in it?
Jon Kelton: I said I wanted an opportunity, that sounds like a pretty damn good one to me when it comes to getting some gold back around my waist. But seriously, a gauntlet match? If anything, it should just be me and Walker, one-on-one. But alright, I’ll conform to your little game here, and I’ll do the gauntlet match. And trust me, I’m gonna win the gauntlet match, I’m gonna end whatever hopes Andre had of breaking Jamie’s little record, and I’m gonna walk out of Egypt, New Breed Champion.
(Kelton gives a cocky smirk as he heads out of the office of Hawk, who clearly is a bit impressed with the confidence on display by Kelton before heading back onto his laptop as the camera fades back to ringside.)
(The camera pans back to the ring where Gina is ready to announce the main event of the evening.)
(‘Smoke and Drive (Remix)’ by Machine Gun Kelly echoes throughout the World 1 Theatre to a resounding ovation from the crowd. Justin Windgate jerks the curtain and makes his presence known on the stage.)
Gina Romano: INTRODUCING FIRST! From Detroit, Michigan, weighing in at 225 pounds.. THE XTREME CLASSIC.. JUSTTINNN WINNNDDGATE!!
Gavin Kirkland: Ay, it’s my plug :drakelike:
Eve: Ever since he lost his EAW Interwire Championship to Ronan Malosi at Under Siege, Justin Windgate has been wandering in a limbo state. He had a great performance at Grand Rampage, only to be eliminated by Rex McAllister at Number 26. We are on a phase right now where competitors across the whole comprehensive playing field is looking to make a huge splash as we are approaching the biggest event of the year. Elitists cannot afford to make rookie mistakes from May to June, as your performances can easily reflect what you will be doing at Pain For Pride. However, Justin Windgate and Raven Roberts are surely going to be included in huge things at Pain For Pride.
( ‘In My Bones’ by The Score blasts through the speakers as Raven Roberts appears to a gargantuan pop. WIth a concentrated look on her face, she moseys her way down the ramp and enters the ring. )
Gina Romano: AND HIS OPPONENT! From Atlanta, Georgia, weighing at 134 pounds… THE BIRD OF PREY!!! RAVEENNN ROBBERTSSS
Deadprez: I am sure Raven Roberts has some irritation after entering the Grand Rampage at 22 and being eliminated by the familiar face that is Andrea Valentine. However, like Justin Windgate, with Pain For Pride nearing, Roberts is looking for something to do when the extravaganza comes. Their Pain For Pride futures are up in the air, so who knows what both of these elitis will be doing by mid-June. But, what we do know is that Justin Windgate and Raven Roberts are seconds away from putting yet another Showdown classic here.
( DING! DING! DING! )
Deadprez: The bell has rung as Justin Windgate and Raven Roberts circles the ring before engaging into a collar-and-elbow tie-up. Windgate quickly backs Roberts off into the corner, grabs her wrist and tries to Irish whip the Bird Of Prey into the opposite corner. Roberts twist around, pulls Windgate down and drags the former EAW Interwire Champion into a headlock. Windgate gets the leg scissors, Roberts maneuvers around, gets out of it , and rolls Windgate over onto his head by the legs. Roberts circles around the back and puts him in a chinlock. Windgate rolls her over his shoulders and wrenches the arm. Rough torque applied by Windgate, but it isn’t applied for long as Roberts rolls through, kips-up onto her feet, slaps his wrist away and goes for a dropkick!
Eve: Windgate grabs her legs in mid-air!!! Roberts is suspended upside down as Windgate has her down by both legs. ROBERTS TWISTS AROUND, AND SENDS WINDGATE FLIPPING DOWN ONTO HIS BACK!! Windgate goes down as Roberts comes off the ropes! Windgate sidesteps and hops down. Roberts leapfrogs over him and comes off the ropes! Both competitors clash into each other in the center of the ring! WINDGATE FOR A CLOTHESLINE!! Roberts grabs his arm in mid-air, circles his waist, and pushes him into the ropes! Windgate comes off! Roberts receives his arm! AND FLOORS HIM WITH AN ARM DRAG! BUT WINDGATE COUNTERS THE ARM DRAG IN MID-AIR WITH A HEADLOCK AS WINDGATE IS BACK IN THE POSSESSION!
Gavin Kirkland: Shit is moving too fast for me. Windgate with an interesting counter as he has the Bird Of Prey frozen in the center of the ring with the headlock. This is going to be a good clash of styles here tonight. Windgate is starting to lose that possession as Raven starts sending body shots to the ribs of Windgate! Windgate sticks a knee into the midsection and suppresses Raven’s defense. Windgate throws her over for another headlock, but Raven is able to quickly get that leg scissors. Windgate tries to kip-up off that legscissors, but Raven stops him from doing so by tightening those scissors. If only I was caught between those juicy thighs of Raven Roberts, as Windgate now moves his head around, does a handstand while in between her legs! BUT RAVEN LIFTS HIM UP BY HER LEGS AND PILEDRIVES HER ONTO THE CANVAS!! A LOW-ANGLE PILEDRIVER OF SORTS AS RAVEN GOES FOR THE FIRST COVER OF THIS MATCH!
Eve: KICK-OUT!! Roberts now implements a headlock of her own. This match is now starting to see a slower pace as someone is able to suppress one another for now. But, emphasis on for now as Windgate starts sending body shots! Roberts is starting to slowly let go and Windgate brings her into and off the ropes! Gina Romano: HERE IS YOUR WINNER… RAVENNN ROBERRTSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!
Eve: Raven Roberts with that Talon Kick from absolutely no where! No one saying that from a mile away, including Justin Windgate, who I believe hasn’t been able to wake up from that kick as of yet. Raven Roberts and Windgate with yet another barnburner match here in the Showdown main event spotlight as The Bird Of Prey is the elitist that reigns supreme, but do not take anything away from Justin Windgate.
Deadprez: Justin Windgate may have taken the loss tonight, but there is nothing for him to be ashamed about. As a matter of fact, this loss shouldn’t hurt him a lot as he took Raven Roberts to the absolute limit. However, a loss is a loss, and Raven Roverts was the better competitor, however I am sure this won’t be the last time these two meet eye-to-eye in that squared circle. Congratulations to Raven Roberts.
Eve: Great main event between two of the top talents on this brand, and with that, we say goodnight from Jersey!
