(RECAP–Last week’s Showdown took place from the SAP Center in San Jose, California. The show starts off with Adam Lucas coming to the ring to voice his frustrations about Showdown management before GM Kennedy Street comes out to talk to Adam before Adam is attacked by Abel Atami. The first match has Hans Grayson defeating Major Michael Scott Connor. After the match, Hans Grayson was about to be interviewed by Kyra Phillips before he was attacked by men who are revealed to be Diego and Javier. They try to triple team Hans before Scotty Connor comes to help Hans out before a brawl breaks out. The next match has Lexi defeating Katherine Helle before Specialists Champion ARIA comes out and challenges Lexi to a match at King of Elite with the title on the line. National Elite Champion Donovan Duke was on commentary as Veena Adams defeated Komatsu Ogawa.)
(The recap continues with Kennedy Street and Heidi Huxley talking about future plans as Jack Ripley not before firing the referee that made the bad call in Jack’s match last week and then asking if Jack is a “good employee” in the hopes of main eventing Pain for Pride.The next match has Dynasty’s Serenity Valdez defeating Showdown’s Ashlynn Quinn to advance to the Semifinals of the Empress of Elite Tournament. Backstage, Kyra Phillips interviews Alex Myers who says they are proud to be who they are and they want to be the first non-binary King of Elite tournament winner in EAW before ARIA comes out and reassures Alex. In the next match, Ryan Joseph Wilson defeats Harley Lewis to advance to the King of Elite Quarterfinals. After the match, Xander and Ryan talk about which one of them might be pulling double duty at King of Elite. Also backstage, Jake meets up with Ms. Extreme and Ms. Extreme is not amused at all with having to tag with Jake. Jake offers a peace offering of adoption papers before Ms. Extreme shreds them. In the main event of the evening, the tag team match of Kassidy Heart and Impact taking on Ms. Extreme and Jake Smith ends in a no-contest after the four competitors start brawling and don’t stop. The fighting leads to the referees and security coming to break up the fight. The four are seen being separated from each other as the recap ends…)
(“Brick Wall” by A Day to Remember is playing throughout the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. The crowd in attendance is overflowing with excitement for all the Showdown action to begin. The crowd is decorated with the different merchandise of their favorite EAW Elitists. There are others in the crowd that are holding up signs cheering for their favorites or making fun of the ones that they hate. After a few moments of the camera panning through the entire crowd, the camera finally settles at the broadcast table where the trio of Deadprez, Gavin Kirkland, and Eve are sitting and ready to once again call all the Showdown Action.)
Deadprez: We are on the way to King of Elite! Ladies and gentlemen, this is SATURDAY! NIGHT! SHOWDOWN! We are live from the beautiful Moda Center in Portland, Oregon for our second show of 2023!
Eve: 2023 is just beginning and things have already been on fire. So much action brewing and there is only going to be more as we head to Vancouver for King of Elite in three weeks.
Gavin Kirkland: WE WRESTLE!!!! Oh this is so exciting I can’t wait for the show to begin. There is so much awesomeness coming from the best brand in EAW… SHOWDOWN!!
Eve: Oh, Gavin. Energetic as always. You might need to switch to decaf or you’re going to crash before the show ends.
Gavin Kirkland: Don’t worry about me, Eve. How about we get started with the action. Tonight we will hear from Lexi as she has a shot at becoming the Specialists Champion at King of Elite. We will also hear from the duo of Holly Arrow and Harper Lee tonight.
Eve: I’ve also heard that Lucas Johnson and Komatsu Ogawa are here and they have something to say after some bad luck with their matches last week and they are looking for another opportunity to build momentum tonight. I’ve also heard Harley Lewis is here and we can only wonder what Xander Payne said to him last week.
Deadprez: We wonder indeed, but also tonight, we have a very monumental double contract signing that will be conducted by the Showdown General Manager Kennedy Street. That is going to be huge and hopefully for once a contract signing can stay civil.
Gavin Kirkland: PREZZY!!! THE MATCHES!!!! LET’S TALK ABOUT THE MATCHES!! How about tonight’s matches? First off… WE HAVE A DEBUT!! Tonight we have the debut of Drake Armstrong taking on Katherine Helle. Armstrong has a very confident aura, but will it be enough to beat the dangerous Katherine? We will find out. Also tonight is a tag team match built up from last week’s brawl. It will be Major Michael Scott Connor and Hans Grayson taking on La Familia’s Javier and Diego De La Rosa. Roberto and Esmeralda will be at ringside so they need to keep their heads on a swivel.
Eve: Also tonight, we have another match created because of attacks from last week. Adam Lucas gets his chance at redemption when he takes on Abel Atami in singles action. Will Abel pick up the biggest win of his career or will Adam show Abel what happens when you attack him from behind. We also have the National Elite Champion in action. Donovan Duke will be taking on Jack Ripley in singles action. There’s no doubt that Veena Adams will be close by. Donovan is no doubt in a good mood after making history on Monday, but he needs to be careful with Jack Ripley tonight, especially after talking to Kennedy Street last week.
Deadprez: That is going to be a big match no doubt, but we round out our matches with King of Elite tournament action. First, in Quarterfinal action, we have Ryan Joseph Wilson taking on Jon Kelton. Xander Payne and London Zelaya will be at ringside, so who knows what is going to happen there. Finally, in our main event tonight. We have our final First Round match with Xander Payne taking on Alex Myers. Will Xander Payne punch his ticket to another King of Elite final round or will Alex Myers continue their journey to making history. That will be tonight, but right now, let’s take it to the ring where Gina Romano is ready to make the introductions for our opening contest.
Gina Romano: The opening contest of Showdown is a singles match, and it is scheduled for… ONE FALL!!!!
Crowd: ONE FALL!
(‘You’re Not Here’ by Akira Yamaoka begins to play throughout the speakers to a negative reaction of pouring boos, as Katherine Helle would walk through the curtain, and step out onto the stage. She looks around determined, as she begins to make her way down the rampway, stopping at the ringside area as she rolls into the ring and backs into her corner, her theme fading out from there.)
Gina Romano: Introducing first! From Los Angeles, California… weighing in at 142 pounds… she is The ‘HELLRAISER!!!!!!’ KATHERINE HELLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Eve: Ever since returning to Elite Answers Wrestling, Katherine Helle has had one goal in mind, and that is to make a name for herself, and at the expense of whoever decides to try and get into her way. She suffered a disappointing defeat against Lexi, but tonight she is going to look to make a rebound and get her first win back, but it is going to be a tough challenge.
Deadprez: A tough challenge indeed, as she is going up against someone who is new to this company and making his debut here tonight; Drake Armstrong. Katherine didn’t speak much this week, but it may be a strategy as she might have taken the time to put into her training so she can be prepared for what she is getting herself into this week.
(‘Pride and Arrogance’ by Takeru Kanazaki would then begin to play, the boos only getting even louder, as Drake Armstrong would then make his way out onto an EAW stage for the first time in his career. He looks around confident, as he struts his way down to the ring, before climbing up onto the apron and entering into the ring, posing in the middle of the ring before backing into his corner.)
Gina Romano: And her opponent! From Scarsdale, New York… weighing in at 260 pounds… he calls himself The ‘FUTURE!!!!!!!’ DRAKE ARMSTRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gavin Kirkland: Speaking of; here he is! This is Drake Armstrong’s first match here in EAW, and much like the beauty- I mean, much like Katherine Helle, he also has a goal in mind to make a name for himself. He doesn’t call himself The Future for no reason, and he is going to look to back it all up here tonight.
Deadprez: Drake Armstrong definitely has a lot of walk to do with his talk tonight, as he has a huge challenge in front of him in the form of The ‘Hellraiser.’ We heard what he had to say about this match earlier in the week, and now he is going to have the opportunity to prove to the whole world just as to why he calls himself The Future.
Eve: And, we are going to get into that… right now!
(DING! DING! DING!)
Eve: This match is underway, as Drake Armstrong and Katherine Helle both meet in the center of the ring and initiate a lockup! These two fresh Elitists are going to look to fight for early control in this match, trying to show who has the bigger advantage, and it looks like it’s going to be Katherine, slipping behind and pulling Drake into a side headlock.
Gavin Kirkland: Drake Armstrong looks to be struggling to get out of this headlock hold, as Katherine continues to wrench it in even tighter than the last, but it’s Drake who is going to use some of his height and strength to his advantage, backing himself and Katherine up into the ropes, before using the leverage to rebound off the ropes and slip out of the headlock, running off the opposite side of the ropes and taking her down with a shoulder tackle!
Deadprez: Drake takes another run off of the ropes, but Katherine slips herself under him, forcing him to leap over her prone body, before running off the ropes once again, and that gives her enough time to get back up to her feet, catching Drake Armstrong off guard with an armdrag! We all know that Katherine Helle has undeniable strength, and it looks like she is going to be able to use that well in this match as she knees Drake in the face!
Eve: The recently returning ‘Hellraiser’ has seemingly found a way to take control over this match, as she picks up the taller Drake Armstrong back up to his feet, before locking his wrist and throwing him into the corner, running in at him and closing the gap off with a huge clothesline, knocking Drake dizzy! Yet she isn’t done, locking the wrist again, and this time around pulling him into a short-distanced clothesline! Katherine into the cover!

Gavin Kirkland: But it’s Drake Armstrong with the easy kickout, staying in this match! We all know how much first impressions in this company can last, and Drake is looking to make one himself – and he isn’t going to allow for himself to go down this easily, but you can tell that Katherine Helle isn’t very happy about it. She gets herself to a knee, before catching a downed Drake Armstrong with a huge right closed fist.
Deadprez: She gets back up to her feet, grabbing Drake in the process before dragging him back up as well, and she locks the wrist again, looking to throw him into the ropes, but Drake is able to hold his standing! Drake breaks out of it, before taking Katherine by the hand instead, and he is able to throw her into the ropes, before catching her with another shoulder tackle, and then he follows up, stomping down right onto the leg, and Katherine lets out a roar of absolute agony!
Eve: The man who calls himself The ‘Future’ is going to look to take advantage of this, quickly picking Katherine back up by her hair, before picking her into the air, spinning around before dropping her down onto his knee with that huge tilt-a-whirl backbreaker! But he isn’t done, keeping a hold of Katherine, picking her back up, and this time dropping her with a uranage backbreaker, and Katherine is reeling right now!
Gavin Kirkland: And Drake is going to quickly drop her to the mat, before running the ropes and dropping down, stabbing the edge of his elbow right into the chest of Katherine with a huge elbow drop. He gets up, and he does it again! Armstrong is finding a way to pull himself back into this match, and he’s doing it in a huge way, taking Katherine Helle completely off guard in the process, as he picks himself back up to his feet, before taunting to the crowd, breathing in the hateful reaction!
Deadprez: He looks behind him, seeing Katherine Helle barely crawling away, as she makes it over to the ropes, but Drake is going to be able to stop her, grabbing her by the hair and dragging her back up to her feet, and catching Drake with a right hand! That staggers Armstrong, as she then connects with a kick to the gut, and follows through with a forearm smash! Katherine is pulling herself through this match… but wait! Drake with a kick to the gut of his own, as Katherine is forced to double over, and Drake follows up with a DDT, planting Katherine’s head into the mat!
Eve: And Armstrong is going to immediately pick Katherine back up to her feet, before pulling her into a bodyslam position! He walks over to the corner, and he drops her down onto the corner, and now Katherine is placed in a tree of woe predicament! We all know how dangerous this can be, and it looks like Drake has something big planned, grabbing a hold of Katherine’s wrists before locking them… AND HE STARTS TO RUTHLESSLY STOMP DOWN ONTO HER HEAD WITHOUT STOP! HE CALLS THIS THE ‘DRAKENOMICS,’ AND THE REFEREE IS GOING TO HAVE TO STEP IN TO STOP THIS!
Gavin Kirkland: The referee is trying to get Drake Armstrong to let go and stop the assault, but he isn’t listening, and he continues to go at it with the stomps, and look at Katherine Helle! She’s basically limp, she’s knocked out cold! The referee is going to have to start a count just to get Drake to let go, and he looks to do exactly that!
Referee: (off-mic) COME ON, DRAKE! THAT’S ENOUGH! ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! LET GO OF HER OR YOU’LL BE DISQUALIFIED!
Drake Armstrong: (off-mic) Okay.
Dreadprez: Drake Armstrong is going to finally let go of the wrists of Katherine Helle, backing away to avoid the risk of a disqualification, but the damage might have already been done. Look! Katherine just dropped limp to the mat, and Drake is just laughing about it! He walks back towards Katherine, forcing the ref to back away, as he pulls her to the center of the match, before going for a cover!

Eve: KATHERINE HELLE GETS HER SHOULDER OFF OF THE MAT JUST IN TIME, AND DRAKE ARMSTRONG IS NOT HAPPY! He’s looking towards the referee, arguing with him over the count, and as he gets up to his knees… Katherine Helle catches him and pulls him back down, and over into a crucifix pin! Drake’s shoulders go down to the mat, and this might be it right here! Katherine might steal this match!
OOONNNEEE!!!!!!!!!

Gavin Kirkland: But it’s Drake Armstrong who is able to quickly pop his shoulders off of the mat, before rolling off of Katherine’s grip, as he gets back up to his feet quickly, but Katherine gets up as well, and she catches Drake with a huge discus forearm smash! And then an uppercut! Katherine is going on a fury right now, grabbing Drake by his wrist, before pulling him into a huge lariat, but Drake stays on his feet… BUT IT’S THE BIG FOOT FOLLOWED BY IT THAT DROPS HIM!
Deadprez: And now Katherine grabs the ropes, using it as leverage and she starts stomping into the face of Armstrong! Payback from the tree of woe stomps! The referee forces her as well, as Drake gets up into a seated position, but Katherine isn’t done, running the ropes before catching him with a huge dropkick! Katherine is not happy at all right now, picking Drake back up, before throwing him into the ropes, and she catches him with a right hand, and Drake goes scrambling to the mat!
Eve: Katherine Helle just let out a loud battle cry! She is pulling herself back into this match looking to get her first win back here in Elite Answers Wrestling, and she is going to look to do exactly that, picking Drake up to a knee, before kneeing him in the first! And again! And another one! Knee after knee catching Drake right in between the nose, as she picks him to his feet, before throwing him into the ropes… AND SHE THROWS DRAKE INTO THE AIR, HOW THE HELL—
Gavin Kirkland: AND SHE DROPS HIM DOWN WITH THE POWERBOMB! POP-UP POWERBOMB, SHE CALLS THAT THE ‘DEVIL’S WRATH,’ AND DRAKE ARMSTRONG MIGHT JUST BE COMPLETELY OUT OF IT! KATHERINE FALLS TO THE MAT, BEFORE HOOKING THE LEG, OVERLAPPING ONTO DRAKE AND INTO THE COVER! IT COULD BE IT RIGHT HERE!

Deadprez: DRAKE ARMSTRONG KICKS OUT ONCE MORE! Katherine Helle is practically pulling her hair out right now, slamming her hand down onto the mat as she thought she had won this match right there! She gets up to a knee, and it looks like she is going to argue with the referee, but it’s the ref who assures to her that it was only a two count. What a match this has been between these two Elitists who are looking to make a huge statement here tonight!
Eve: Katherine gets to her feet, and she tries to pull Drake up as well, but you can just tell that it is the frustration and exhaustion setting it on her, as she is barely able to get Drake up to his feet, before connecting with another uppercut, staggering him! But Drake responds with a forearm smash, pushing Katherine back! Katherine steps away, and she steps right back in before catching Drake with a knee to the gut, but Drake stays still, and he kicks Katherine full force, pushing her back.
Gavin Kirkland: And as Katherine Helle stumbles back, she lands into the ropes, using them as a launching pad, rebounding and jumping into the air before catching Drake off guard with a diving clothesline, and both Elitists go right back down once again! Wow! These two are putting everything on the line, and even though only one can win, they are showing to the whole world exactly why the future in EAW is bright.
Deadprez: Somehow you’re actually right, Gavin. Only one can win, and that might just be Katherine Helle, as she is getting back up, and it looks like she is going setup for what she is in hopes to be the ending of this match once and for all! She grabs a hold of Drake, pulling him up as well, before forcing her foot right into the face with that huge boot! She picks him back up… and she’s lifting him into the air!!
Eve: KATHERINE HELLE IS GOING FOR THE ‘HEAVEN’S NIGHT,’ BRAINBUSTER LOOKING TO CONNECT… BUT HER LOWER BACK GIVES UP ON HER, AND SHE DROPS DRAKE ARMSTRONG BACK TO THE GROUND! The exhaustion in this match just set in on her, as she was incapable of lifting up the bigger opponent, and Drake Armstrong capitalized with a huge big boot to the face! Armstrong is clearly surprised at the strength on display by Katherine, but he knows that he just saved his chances in this match.
Gavin Kirkland: And now it might just be Drake’s turn to put an end to this match once and for all, grabbing Katherine by the hair, pulling her back up, but Katherine is still trying to fight out of it! You know that she doesn’t want to give up, and she is doing whatever it takes to make sure that she doesn’t lose this match, and she catches Drake with a forearm smash, staggering him! KATHERINE IS GOING TO ATTEMPT FOR HEAVEN’S NIGHT AGAIN!!! SHE’S LIFTING HIM UP INTO THE AIR, AND SHE IS GOING TO DROP HIM WITH THE BRAINBUSTER…
Deadprez: DRAKE ARMSTRONG FIGHTS OUT OF IT AGAIN, BEFORE LIFTING KATHERINE HELLE UP HIMSELF!!! AND HE DROPS HER DOWN WITH THE GOTCH STYLED TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER!!! DRAKE ARMSTRONG MIGHT HAVE JUST PUT THE FINAL NAIL IN THE COFFIN, DROPPING KATHERINE ONTO HER HEAD WITH WHAT HE LIKES TO CALL ‘DEATH PENALTY!!!!’ DRAKE ARMSTRONG SLITHERS INTO THE COVER, HOOKING THE LEG, AND THIS MIGHT JUST BE IT!

Gina Romano: Here is your winner of this match; DRAKE ARMSTRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(‘Pride and Arrogance’ begins to play once more to a reaction of negative boos, as Drake Armstrong would push himself off of Katherine Helle, moving to his knees as his arm gets raised by the referee in victory. He gets back up to his feet, breathing in the reaction, and looks content with his victory as he begins to celebrate, the referee going to check on Katherine.)
Eve: What. A. Match. These two Elitists came into Showdown this week with a goal in mind to win and make a name for themselves, and they did exactly that. But, in the end, it was Drake Armstrong who was able to pick up his very first win here in Elite Answers Wrestling, starting his career off right with a huge statement made.
Deadprez: All credits due to Katherine Helle, but in the end her fight wasn’t enough tonight, suffering a defeat, but she showed to us that she isn’t going to be someone to mess with. Other than that, congratulations to Drake Armstrong on this huge win, and what a way to start us off with competition here tonight on Showdown!
(Drake Armstrong would continue to celebrate his victory, as Katherine Helle looks on from the ringside area, disappointed in her defeat. The final image is of Drake Armstrong posing for the hard camera, as the camera would then fade elsewhere.)
(We cut to the back and immediately see Kyra Phillips standing by.)
Kyra Phillips: Ladies and Gentlemen… my guest currently is the Number One contender to the Specialist Championship. Thank you for joining me Lexi.
(The camera pans out to reveal the woman herself.)
Lexi: Thank you for having me
Kyra Phillips: From your reaction, it seems to have come as quite the surprise to you. Aria making the offer I mean.
(Lexi nods her head, agreeing with the statement.)
Lexi: It was, because let’s face it, there are those that will say that I don’t deserve it. Considering my colorful past, I mean. I mean, there are those that no doubt hate me for what I did, and how could I blame them? There is no denying it. I think that was my problem, I was in denial, and couldn’t see, nor hear what I was being told.
Kyra Phillips: So, you regret the past?
Lexi: Regret? I don’t think that you can regret your actions, and they are all part of a learning experience towards being the person you want to be. Do I wish I hadn’t done those things? Perhaps. But then I wouldn’t be as prepared as I am for this amazing opportunity I have been given. I know I’ve done wrong, I openly accept that, but I don’t want my career to be defined by those things. I want to publicly apologize to everyone I ever offended or hurt, especially Adam Lucas and Dr. Bethany Blue. It was all part of the maturation process, but that doesn’t take away the fact that I was wrong. And so, I AM sorry.
Kyra Phillips: And do you think people should give you a second chance?
(Lexi laughs, shaking her head.)
Lexi: I think I’ve been given a second chance, don’t you? And a third, and a fourth?
Kyra Phillips: Perhaps
Lexi: You can be honest Kyra, it’s ok. But no, I’m not expecting anything, from anyone, except myself. I’m just going to be true, and hope that when my careers end, it is not those things that I am remembered for. The only way I can do that, is by working every single day to help people forget. So that’s what I am going to do.
Kyra Phillips: So, what does Lexi Version 2023 look like?
Lexi: That is a good question.
Kyra Phillips: That’s what I am here for, and I’m sure it’s a question that all those people you talk about need answering.
(Lexi lowers her head for a moment, thinking on the question and not just giving a snap answer. After she has thought about it long enough, she brings her eyes back to the camera.)
Lexi: All my career thus far, I have been known as the running joke in the locker room. That MUST end. It seems that every single time I compete, I am compared to my brother for the bad things he did, when I want to be compared to the good. People tend to forget that Terry beat some of the absolute best this company had to offer during his time, and is a former World Champion, so being compared him doesn’t have to be a death sentence to my career. Take the good, and not the bad, and strive every single time I step in the ring to be taken seriously. That’s all I can do. Yeah, that’s Lexi Version 2023… someone who is respected for what she can do in the ring and isn’t treated like a squash every time someone must face me. I want people to know that when they are matched with me, they will be in for a hard time. I want people to know that I’m not playing at being an Elitist… and that I most definitely AM one.
Kyra Phillips: And becoming Specialists Champion will help with that?
Lexi: I think it will yes. It may have been a shock, but I am so happy ARIA has given me this chance. An opportunity to wrestle for a Championship that so many greats have held during its history. To have my name mentioned in the same breath as theirs would be a dream come true, and I’m going to make sure that like so many others, I don’t waste this chance. I know, I owe a lot to ARIA, making this happen in the way she did, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to go easy on her, quite the opposite in fact. I’m going to make sure that when all is said and done, she was right to give me my shot. I’m going to win the Specialist Championship to show ARIA that she wasn’t wrong.
Kyra Phillips: And does your history with ARIA come into the equation?
Lexi: In the past, yes it probably would have, after all I’m sure that people remember the whole ‘situation’ with the Ice Aces. There is no question that months ago, I would have brought with me a few grudges, and focused on them, instead of focusing on the match itself. Of course, ‘history’ is there to be learned from, and I have learned. But apart from that, this is nothing but a shot at an EAW Champion. The only reason it matters that it is ARIA is that I doubt anyone else would have given me the chance. But yes, I did beat ARIA before, and so that does give me an element of confidence, but this is different. There is so much on the line for us both. I know she is going to fight hard, but so will I. I’ll do what it takes to become a Champion at last.
Kyra Phillips: And if you fail? There will be no reverting to type?
(Lexi grins, not surprised by the valid question in the slightest, another example of her newfound maturity.)
Lexi: No, there will be no return to those dark days. No hissy fits or bitchy tantrums. If I lose, it will mean that on THIS occasion I wasn’t good enough. And it will so quite simply that I need to do better. But rest assured Kyra, I will not rest until I am the person, and the Champion that I want to be. Believe me or not people… it’s happening.
(Lexi nods towards the camera and walks away, Kyra smiling as the scene cuts away.)
( The scene fades back into the show as Gina Romano with a microphone in her hand and a huge smile on her face, prepares to announce the upcoming match. )
Gina Romano: THE FOLLOWING CONTEST IS A TAG TEAM MATCH AND IT’S SCHEDULED FOR ONE FALL!

(The camera transitions backstage, Mikaela is seen sitting down with Harper Lee and Holly Arrow. She turns to the camera and smiles.)
Mikaela Street: Hello EAW Universe! I am so excited this week to be with Potara! Holly Arrow and Harper Lee!
(The camera pans and both ladies are seen waving.)
Mikaela Street: Hi! Wow…. This is so cool that you two are together as a tag team to start a great 2023! How did this happen!?
Harper Lee: Her idea.
Holly Arrow: To be honest, it wasn’t something I initially expected. It’s no secret that Harper and I were on a completely different path than we are now, to say the least :troll:. But, after our last singles match, it just kinda came about, the idea of putting all of that aside, beating each other up just so one of us can get something we BOTH deserve, it just made more sense to – instead of being enemies – be even stronger than before. If it wasn’t for Harper, I probably would’ve been Universal Women’s Champion. If it wasn’t for me, Harper probably would’ve been facing and dethroning Donovan. And, vice versa. Why hold one another back when we could just as easily both succeed, given we’re both good enough for it?
Harper Lee: Yeah. I’ll admit I had to really think about it for a bit. I don’t exactly have the best history when it comes to keeping tag team partners and all that, but the more I thought about it I realized I didn’t exactly have much to lose. I carried my first partner to her only Championship reign and Ximena wouldn’t have ever been a thing if I didn’t put her name on the map, and Holly’s in a way different league than both of them. I needed some way to move forward after Road to Redemption, and Holly gave me a shot to become a two-time Unified Tag Team Champion, this time with a partner that can actually hang with me. There’s really not much that could go wrong, so what better way to finally let bygones be bygones than team up with her and start beating everyone else up instead of each other?
(Surprised and satisfied by the answer, Mikaela moves on.)
Mikaela Street: I will ask you two different questions here… first off Holly Arrow! Everyone knows that it will be a matter of time before you get some gold around your waist, are you looking at singles or even tag team gold?
Holly Arrow: It’s no secret that I want singles gold, I’ve been chasing that for the entire season. I mean, who wouldn’t? But, despite that, that isn’t my full focus. I’m putting my all into the Empress of Elite tournament, I’m using it as a tool to become World Champion, but with that being said; I wouldn’t have proposed this team had it not been to also go for tag team gold. With that being said, the entire point of this team is for the both of us to be better. To, instead of fighting one another, use what we were fighting against each other as a way to BOTH get what we want. Gold will be around my waist, but if you want me to be completely honest, I’m not focusing on the labels attached to it. Singles, tag, I want both.
Mikaela Street: as for you, Harper. Already a former Unified Tag Team Champion, Specialist Champion, and Universal Women’s Champion. What is next for you?
Harper Lee: More, I guess. More accolades, more Championships, more big victories, I had an amazing 2022 and I’m gonna make sure 2023 lives up to it. I’ve already done it all and had a Hall of Fame level career, but anybody that’s ever known me knows that I’m not the type of person to be content with what I have. After I lost the Universal Women’s Championship I felt pretty lost for a while, and I’m just not gonna let myself reach a low like that again. As weird as this whole situation with Sheridan and now Madison has been, I now have the chance to beat two former Women’s Champions and I think that’d go pretty well with all the other huge accolades I have in the women’s division, so right now I’m focused on beating them and continuing to solidify myself as one of the best women’s wrestlers EAW has ever had to offer, past or present.
Mikaela Street: What is your opinion of the tag team landscape in the EAW? What can we expect from you two?
Holly Arrow: Expect everything and more.
Harper Lee: Two belts Holly? 🤔
Holly Arrow: The tag team division is by far better than it has been in a while, but I can confidently say we’re the best in it. Harper has already proven that she can dominate a division like this, but as the division has grown, so has she, and the same can go for me. Like, yeah, it’s good, but quite frankly we have every tool to be the best no matter where we stand. Empress of Elite finals at King of Elite against Serenity? Unified Tag Team Championships? Universal Women’s Championship? No matter where we go, we’re the best there, so when you put us together, there’s no doubt that it’s going to go over well.
Harper Lee: You can expect a big year from us, pretty much. The tag team landscape is honestly way bigger and arguably more interesting than it was back when I first became Tag Champ since most of the teams back then only existed for that one tournament. I’m a different competitor than I was back then though and I think Holly’s performance in the Empress of Elite tournament should say enough about where she stands as a competitor. Holly’s winning a bunch of gold this year and I’m adding even more to my resume, that’s what you can expect.

Mikaela Street: Harper, we have seen what is going on with you and Sheridan Muller, now we can throw in Madison Kaline after the last Voltage. Your thoughts?
Harper Lee: This whole situation has been weird. Sheridan’s been acting like an angsty teen and Madison decided to stick her nose where it doesn’t belong, but you know what? That’s fine. I may have tried to be nice to Sheridan a single time, but that doesn’t mean I’ll hesitate to drop her and Maddie when the time comes. I want to move my career forward above all else, and those two chose to be the people standing in my way. I don’t have history with Madison and I lost my one and only match against Sheridan, but at King of Elite I’m going to make things very clear. I’m good enough to beat both of them and I’m not gonna sit here and beg them to start respecting me. I’m gonna beat them when it matters and show them that in this era, I’m the best. Not them.
Mikaela Street: I have to ask! Holly, how do you feel about Jake Smith becoming the Answers World Champion!
Holly Arrow: I have said it before, I’ll say it again, that was EASILY the best moment of Road To Redemption, and had it not been for that, I probably would’ve been in the same mindset. I was before, and I probably never would have been in a good enough mindset to consider any of this. Harper has had a lot to say about Jake, so I’m not gonna make it awkward by rambling on about it, but Road To Redemption, and honestly my 2023, was saved by that moment.

Holly Arrow: Final thoughts? POTARA, as a team and individuals, will go down in history, and we will not stop until it’s one of the most accomplished teams out there. Harper had a fantastic 2022, I didn’t have that same success, but together we have the winning formula to both get that and more. I’ve always been “almost” there, just a hair away, and the funny thing is, a lot of the time, that has been because stuff like this was never accessible, I just was never in the situation to win. Harper ended her 2022 on a sour note, but that by no means is going to last, and we will finally get to where we both want to be. From the moment this was official we became big time players in this division, and for perfectly good reason.
Harper Lee: 2023 is going to be our year, and trust me I know what people are gonna say. I did what I did to Sierra, Holly did what she did to Mary, and I’d tell you that things are gonna be different this time around but I honestly think it’d be better than we show you that instead. I personally don’t plan to let other people’s narratives get in the way of my success this year, not when the two of us are at the top of our game and only getting better. I’m already an Iconic Cup winner and former Universal Women’s Champion, and before you know it Holly might just be 2023’s Empress of Elite winner and the new Universal Women’s Champ. Don’t be surprised if we go down as one of the most accomplished teams out there.

(‘Bad Man’ by Polo G hits as the crowd ushers in thousands of boos for Abel Atami. He walks out to people disliking him, some of them holding up “We Don’t Boo You Coz’ You’re a Good Heel, We Boo You Cause You Suck!” signs and shouting at Abel. He basks this in as he makes his way to the middle of the ring, and poses as Antonne Prudence waits on the outside.)
Gina Romano: THIS MATCH IS SCHEDULED FOR ONE FALL WITH A TWENTY MINUTE TIME LIMIT! INTRODUCING FIRST, FROM UPOLU, SAMOA— THE REDEEMED, ABEL ATAMI!
Eve: He’s walking into this match as Kennedy’s mercenary and hitman, hoping to take Adam out! It doesn’t seem like he’s all there, but really, he doesn’t seem to have a choice! Abel seems like he’s pretending to be confident, but really, I just want to see how he performs, especially with pressure piling on him!
(‘Bad Man’ fades, as ‘You Know My Name’ by Chris Cornell echoes through the arena. The crowd goes wild, as their signs become more positive. Adam walks down the ramp and enters the ring, eyeing down his opponents.)
Gina Romano: AND HIS OPPONENT, FROM NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK, THE NEXT LEVEL— ADAM LUCAS!
Deadprez: Honestly, he’s fighting the world right now. Abel is facing a man on a mission to break him, and Adam actually looks ready and confident, doesn’t seem like he’s faking it!
(DING! DING! DING!)
Eve: AND WE ARE OFF! ADAM RUSHES IN FIRST, AND HE’S JUST DOGGING ON ABEL ATAMI! Damn, he’s teaching Abel a lesson. Adam is landing heavy shots onto Abel’s skull, and this is starting to really set the tone for what the rest of this match may very well be! Adam transitions from punches to knees, and he’s sending Abel’s brain for a doozy! This is something else, man. Adam has never been this angry in this season so far. This is the perfect time for the perfect person, though. Abel Atami isn’t looking very much alive, and it seems like those strikes really took a toll on him!
Deadprez: And Adam strikes him with a kick to Abel’s ear! Adam is continuing this barrage, repeatedly slamming his elbow into Abel’s neck and hooking it under his arm! He wraps his arm around Abel’s neck, lifts him up in the air and he drops him dead on the scalp! Abel looks like he’s out of it barely two minutes into this match! Adam is a man possessed here, and Antonne Prudence is looking on, angry! He wants to help, but he can’t!
Gavin Kirkland: And Adam picks him up by the hair and he tosses Abel into the turnbuckle! Adam runs in, and he drives his knee into Abel’s eyes! Abel can’t see anymore, and Adam simply twists the arm and drives his elbow right into the socket! He’s letting it all out, and he just repeatedly punches Abel in the face over and over, making a statement! Adam then grabs hold of the waist, and throws Abel over his head for a Back Suplex! Abel landed neck first, and that’s not looking good! Adam is like a man possessed here!
Eve: And Adam takes Abel’s legs, and he just kicks the knee socket into the back of the leg! Abel groans at that, and simply put, I don’t think he’s going to recover in the least bit! Abel is starting to see why you don’t play with fire, and maybe he’s regretting his life choices! Adam takes those legs again, and he hooks them into a Lucas Lock! Adam latches onto the sharpshooter, and he’s just holding it there! Adam is going crazy right now, man! Abel is trying to go for the ropes, but Adam pulls him away and he’s looking to tap Abel out—
Deadprez: NO! ABEL GETS TO THE ROPES! Adam is forced to break the count! Adam gets up, he rebounds off the ropes and he drives his boot to the back of Abel’s head! He picks him up and he’s just going blow for blow, driving every single part of the body that can be used to strike into Abel’s scalp, and then he goes right for a kick to the spine! Abel is down on a knee, and Adam pulls him into the middle of the ring! Adam is going on a mission here, and this is not looking good for the Redeemed! He’s down, and Adam mounts on top of him and sends jumping knees into his solar plexus!
Gavin Kirkland: Easy, Adam. Keep the suffering and let it continue! Adam pulls Abel by the hair, and he leaps up and slams the knee dead into his throat! He’s just showing exactly why he’s levels above Abel Atami, and Adam is also sending a message to Kennedy Street, that nobody can stop him here! Adam pulls Abel Atami by the arms, and he stomps a mudhole into his face! Abel looks like he could really use some medical assistance here! Abel is trying to stand, and Adam allows him to! Adam turns to the ropes and is distracted by Antonne Prudence! Abel tries to use this to his advantage, but no! Adam lifts his shoulder up and Abel is sent flying into the outside barricade! Abel is out of it! Adam leaps off the ropes, and he strikes Atami with a suicide dive!
Eve: This is a massacre.
Deadprez: Yep, it is. Adam is proving Kennedy wrong here, and he grabs ahold of Abel’s waist and throws him into the ringpost for a German Suplex! Abel is starting to lose awareness of where he is, and he’s met with a Discus Punch from Adam Lucas! Abel is knocked out on the outside, but Adam tosses him back in! If he wants to win, he’ll win via pinfall or submission! Adam grabs him by the hair, and he’s just slamming his head face first into the mat over and over again! He looks up at the crowd, and it seems like he has a few words for Kennedy Street!
Adam Lucas: (off-mic) Don’t ever, and I mean don’t EVER send mediocre talents like Abel here if you want to take me out, Kennedy. You can send whoever you want, you simply aren’t stopping me.
Gavin Kirkland: Adam has Abel in his hands, and Adam gets him into a standing position! He leaps and hits Abel with a step-up Enzuigiri! Abel is out of it, and Adam is going for the pin! He’s going for the cover—
OOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEE—-
Gavin Kirkland: NO! He lifts Abel up in a Powerslam position, and throws him overhead, as Abel’s knocked out and unconscious body is being thrown around the ring like it’s nothing! Adam is showing experience, aggression and downright fire in this match, this won’t be a good week for Abel Atami at all! Adam picks Abel up, and Abel is dropped back first onto the mat for a massive spinebuster! This is something else here, and Abel is out of it! Adam is walking around the ring, waiting for Abel to stand up! Abel stands up! Adam leaps off the springboard, and he puts Abel down for a flying forearm!
Eve: Abel looks like he’s simply not able to do much here, but no! Adam got too close to the ropes, and Antonne pulls on his shoe! Abel uses this moment and he hits Adam clean in the nose! Adam adjusts it, and he’s visibly frustrated! Abel repeatedly takes this chance to hit Adam over and over again, and he slaps him right in the face! He won’t let that endless assault slide, but Adam won’t stand for this disrespect either! Adam strikes him with an elbow, but Abel manages to cheat and hit Adam with a low blow! Antonne distracted the referee! Abel is just taking in boos, and he tries to pick Adam up for a powerbomb—
Deadprez: BUT NO! Adam hooks his legs around Abel and throws him over for a Hurricanrana! Adam looks unfazed by this, and Abel is starting to feel the pain being piled on to a much higher degree! Adam’s angry, and he pushes Abel into the ropes, and as Abel rebounds, Adam throws him over with a hip toss, and HONOR BOMB! THE CRADLE PILEDRIVER CONNECTS! Abel is out of it, but Adam is angry!
Gavin Kirkland: I think Abel was better off not doing the low blow. That just made Adam angrier than he was when this match started, and that’s going to cost Abel! Adam takes it to the skies, and he leaps off for a Swanton Bomb on Abel Atami! He’s not going for the cover, but he’s going for another air attack! He gets on another top rope, and leaps off for an elbow drop— no!
Eve: Abel managed to roll out of it, and Adam went elbow first into the mat! Abel pulls himself up, and he takes Adam by surprise with a massive headbutt down his nose! Adam staggers back, and Abel picks him up for a German Suplex! Abel tries again, it connects! He’s looking for the cover here! Can he put Adam away and cause an upset?

Deadprez: No! Adam pulls Abel Atami in, and he wraps his arm around his head for a choke! He’s going for a front choke, and the breath is starting to pull away from Abel Atami! Abel tries to go for the ropes, but it doesn’t seem like that’s going to work either! Adam lifts him up, and he drops him on his head for a DDT! Adam is stomping on Abel Atami’s ribs, and he wants to continue the momentum that he had for the majority of this match! He hooks Abel’s arms, and lifts him up for an Alabama Slam! Abel got the brunt of that pretty harshly! Adam is simply watching as Abel tries to get away!
Gavin Kirkland: Abel is talking to Antonne Prudence, and Antonne is trying to motivate his client! Abel can’t talk much longer, however, as Adam pulls him in! He runs and leaps as Abel is sent down for a facebuster! Abel tries to recover, and Adam is chatting with Prudence on the outside! It doesn’t seem like he appreciates the constant attempts at trying to get his client ahead in this match, whether or not all of them have been a failure so far! Abel uses this opportunity, and he strikes Adam in the back of the head!
Eve: Adam is down on a knee, and Abel is trying to grab him from behind with a rear naked choke! Can he put Adam away? This is not the favourable outcome for me, but this could be the massive upset that Abel needs right here! Abel is just keeping his arm tightly around Adam’s neck, and Adam was caught by surprise! He sends multiple elbows into Abel’s ribs, and Abel releases the hold! Adam rebounds off, but Abel catches him with a clothesline! He might do it! He might actually take Adam out here! He tries to lift him up for a Gotch Style Piledriver, but no!
Deadprez: Adam manages to pull the legs and he’s got him in another Lucas Lock! He has Abel in a sharpshooter, and Abel can’t reach for the ropes! He is starting to fade away in this match, and Adam is just wrenching it as hard as he possibly can! Abel is trying to fight, and he wants to grab hold of the rope— but no! He can’t, he’s inches away, and Antonne runs to it and pushes it, allowing Abel to grab hold of the rope! The referee forces Adam to let go again! Adam’s pissed, and he stomps on Abel’s ankles with force! Adam pulls him in, and he picks him up yet again! This time around, he turns the tables and applies his own sleeper hold!
Gavin Kirkland: And Abel is trying to gasp for air here! Abel knows this is not a good spot to be in, but despite that, he’s really trying his best to push it here! He wants to reach for the ropes, but Adam lifts him up and he slams him down on the mat! He won’t make that same mistake again! Abel is playing dead, and Adam tries to strike him down with an elbow to the face; but the Redeemed kicks Adam in the stomach and he pulls him in for a rollup! Adam manages to reverse the rollup, though, and he lets go! Adam is even angrier, and he just kicks Abel Atami square in the temple and sends him on the mat! Adam stands up, and he wants Abel to breathe!
Eve: It’s almost like he wants to prolong his suffering, and send a message to not just Kennedy, but the other people in the company who want him dead! This is what you’re getting, and this Adam is a man who you do not want to mess with! Everybody has this kind of violence in them, and I do too, it’s a surprise that I haven’t smacked Gavin upside the head, but Adam has done more damage to Abel than just a smack! Adam is in the middle of the ring, and Abel isn’t thinking straight! He rebounds off the ropes, only to be met with a POP UP POWERBOMB! THE LEVEL UP JUST TOOK ABEL OUT, AND CAN ADAM PUT HIM OUT FOR GOOD THIS TIME?

(‘You Know My Name’ hits, and the crowd goes wild. Everyone wanted to see Adam do it, and Adam did. He rolls out of the ring, and wants to leave to the outside, but it doesn’t seem like that’s the case here—)
Deadprez: And he does! It seems like Adam wants to leave, but he won’t do it just yet! Adam runs towards Abel and Prudence on the outside, and he strikes them with a clothesline from behind! Adam just wants to let it all out, and he lifts Prudence up for a Level Up, and he slams him on the apron! Abel tries to fight back, but Adam is stronger here! He kicks Abel in the knee and he repeatedly bashes his head against the ringpost! Prudence is groggy, but Adam shows no mercy!
Gavin Kirkland: And Adam strikes him with an elbow to the ear! He’s clearing out our commentary table! Adam puts Prudence in the middle of it! Abel runs in, and Adam catches him for a Powerbomb— DUDE! HE JUST SLAMMED ABEL ON TOP OF PRUDENCE, AND THEY’RE BOTH DOWN ON THE COMMENTARY TABLE! The table just broke around the both of them, and Prudence looks to be out of it! Adam puts the both of them on the barricade, and he takes the broken commentary table cover—
Eve: He’s placing it over Abel and Antonne, and he simply runs in for a Basement Dropkick and their heads collide with the force of the commentary table cover! They both have severe brain trauma, and Adam is getting ready to walk out through the crowd but he stops and looks at the camera.)
Adam Lucas: They are done, Kennedy! Do you hear me, they are done! Keep sending me more!
(He starts to walk away from the crowd when the camera transitions to Kennedy who is watching on the monitor, she turns to Heidi Huxley.)
Kennedy Street: Make sure they go to the hospital and then…. FIRE THEM.
Heidi Huxley: Will do.
(Heidi leaves with Kennedy seething as the broadcast fades the backstage area.)
( The scene transitions to a corridor where going past the cameraman is the duo of Ryan Joseph Wilson and Xander Payne. Both are dressed in their fight gear and having an ongoing discussion that the cameraman is moving to try and catch. )
Ryan Joseph Wilson: Can you believe some out there still believe this is nothing but me trying to profit off you? Most of them still have no idea what’s actually going on. What you are building, what we are working to make happen.
Xander Payne: Right.
Ryan Joseph Wilson: The fact is, this isn’t about me leeching off of you, this is a mutually beneficial enterprise. I work to your benefit and you are working for mine and I know you still don’t fully trust me yet but that will change over time. Through my hard work, one day you will fully trust me and then the sky will be our only limit. That is why I am working to strengthen our bond, that Team Camaraderie that will open so much good stuff for us both including the King of Elite.
Xander Payne: Which I’m going to win.
Ryan Joseph Wilson: Maybe. Right now chances are looking really good that we will end up facing each other in the Semi-Finals of the tournament once you get through Alex Myers and Adam Lucas with one of us doing double duty in Vancouver. And I want us to be there for one another when that happens. Because while there’s no way to know who between us will make it to the finals, we clearly can work to be there and support one another in the process of making it all the way up there. I’ll be in your corner when you face Alex Myers tonight, a match I know you’ll win and you being in my corner as I face Jon Kelton will send him a message as well. At the end of the day, I’m convinced it will be the two of us fighting for Showdown representation in the Finals and when that happens may the best wrestler win.
Xander Payne: Which is me.
Ryan Joseph Wilson: For now.
( Ryan grins as Xander looks at him seriously before cracking up a faint smile himself. )
Xander Payne: I can’t deny it, Ryan, lately, you’ve been doing everything I’ve asked you to do to a tee and you’ve been getting great results out of this process. I’m quite proud of you, even if I don’t fully trust you. You’re grown mentally, you’ve grown physically and you have gotten better overall thanks to listening to my advice and making the compromises I required you to make. King of Elite will also be a great opportunity for you to continue learning and get better as I make my way to the event as the one pulling double duty. After all, I am the best in the World.
Ryan Joseph Wilson: Trust me when I say I’ve learned a whole lot, and I still am and there is much left to learn… But I’d like to think this thing we have is a two-way street. I think you can learn a thing or two out of this whole ordeal too.
( The former World Champion rolls his eyes at the mention of learning. )
Xander Payne: You have more to learn than I do.
Ryan Joseph Wilson: You did learn without actually realizing it you know?
Xander Payne: Elaborate.
Ryan Joseph Wilson: You discovered things you didn’t know about yourself. Such the fact you care about others when you’ve been an individualistic man thinking solely and exclusively about yourself yet here you are not only teamed up with someone else but working for his well-being.
Xander Payne: That is something I didn’t even have when I was working with Myles when I think about it.
Ryan Joseph Wilson: See? Let’s face it too: I know you do this for your own benefit and I’m okay with it because it also works in my favor. I’m doing this to help myself but also because I want to thank you for being there for me when I was at the lowest point in my career. And I want to see your vision become a reality because it will work for both of our favors.
Xander Payne: There’s nothing wrong with that. But this is more than for the privilege to being recognized as King however, we have to think about the match we have against the Ice Aces too.
Ryan Joseph Wilson: Let’s not forget we are scheduled to meet the Aces for tea tomorrow night as well. I’m really considering bringing Lady Anabelle along, she loves high tea. It’s fascinating how captivating talking finances around her can be when a good pot of tea is involved.
Xander Payne: Isn’t she like… 7 feet tall? She’ll scare off our opponents.
Ryan Joseph Wilson: More tea for us then.
Xander Payne: I’m more of an espresso man myself, to be honest. But let’s get our focus back to the task at hand, shall we?
Ryan Joseph Wilson: Right.
Xander Payne: That match is one we have to win because if we can get past those two then we are pretty much guaranteed a title shot against the Unified Tag Team Champion and that would be great for our image and what we are building here.
Ryan Joseph Wilson: It would be a highlight of our association for sure! One of us becomes King while we both secure a win in the tag team division and grow closer to earning ourselves a chance to become Champions. This could become our brand! What we are known for. And that is all sorts of exciting!
Xander Payne: Okay. Remember, Camaraderie, eh?

Deadprez: After a HUGE win over Harley Lewis in order to advance to the quarterfinals last week, Ryan Joseph Wilson is here and he looks absolutely ready for what’s ahead of him. You see, this might be a tough war Ryan Joseph Wilson is about to put himself through, but if anything, with the direction he’s been on as of late, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s able to declare himself as the winner here tonight.
Eve: Yeah, I would agree that Ryan is an Elitist who actually has what it takes to do so, but to be fair, let’s not forget who his opponent actually is here tonight…
(As Ryan is in the ring with Xander by his side at ringside, ‘Heart-Shaped Box’ by Nirvana is heard replacing ‘The Only Thing They Fear is YOU’ to a loud mixed reception from the audience, as Jon Kelton is seen making his presence felt by making his way out to the stage. With a focused expression on his face, Kelton wastes no time as he quickly starts making his way down to the ring.)

Eve: Yup… that’s what I’m talking about. One thing to remember while being moments away from watching THIS bout specifically is that Jon Kelton’s opponent here tonight is someone he managed to get the better of a few months earlier this season. But, the stakes differ, and the prizes differ, which is what makes history repeating itself anything but a guarantee.
Gavin Kirkland: Let’s keep ourselves reminded who Jon Kelton actually managed to go through in order to secure himself the spot in this match, though. It was JACK RIPLEY. And although it wasn’t through the most dominating method, a win is a win nonetheless and honestly, Kelton *is* here anyway. The fact that both of these competitors have been on quite a tear as of late makes this one the extremely interesting contest it is, and nothing makes me more excited than the fact that we are a few SECONDS away from witnessing it! Eve: It’s pretty clear that Wilson didn’t see this coming his way at, BUT NONETHELESS IT’S KELTON WHO’S IMMEDIATELY ABLE TO CAPITALIZE AS HE NAILS THE GROUNDED RYAN WILSON WITH A DOUBLE FOOT STOMP RIGHT INTO THE CHEST! Xander Payne is seen standing there at the ringside area, shaking his head in total disappointment with his partner here tonight, as the referee then rolls out meeting Kelton, as he holds his arm up in victory, thus acknowledging him as the winner. The referee lets go of his arm before simply leaving the scene, as Kelton continues celebrating his well-deserved victory.)

Eve: Jon Kelton has been on nothing but fire ever since the beginning of Season Sixteen, and if you need evidence to that, just look at how he was just able to declare himself as a King of Elite semi-semi-finalist here tonight and potentially even a King of Elite tournament finalist AND winner. Wonderful victory here tonight by Jon Kelton, who continues to ride his wave of momentum like no other, especially considering that he had to go through an absolute war with a solid Ryan Joseph Wilson in the process. HUGE congratulations to Jon Kelton!
Gavin Kirkland: Yeah, but there is absolutely nothing to take away from Ryan Wilson either, though. This man just poured his entire heart into this matchup and almost had it won on multiple occasions throughout this match-up, and even then, to eventually put him away, a roll-up was needed to do so, and by Jon Kelton specifically, which speaks volumes. Crushing loss for Wilson here tonight, but I’m sure that if he continues performing on this very level, there’s no doubt that he will be able to bounce back with ease. But nonetheless, this night belongs to none other than the former Interwire Champion. As said, congratulations to Jon Kelton.
(The final shot is seen as a disappointed Xander Payne is seen staring at a shocked Ryan Wilson who’s sitting down against the corner in utter disbelief, staring at the man who just managed to get the better of him here tonight in Jon Kelton making his way to the back along with London with the expression of happiness still not leaving his face. From there, Saturday Night Showdown fades to the backstage area.)
( Our broadcast transitions backstage; we’re now situated in Kennedy Street’s office. Earlier in the night we witnessed Kennedy trim the fat of her Showdown’s roster, getting rid of superfluous talent in Abel Atami and Antonne Prudence. In recent weeks she has voiced her concerns of how bloated Saturday’s have become— judging from the talent currently in her office, perhaps the culling isn’t quite finished! Joining her are none other than Lucas Johnson and Komatsu Ogawa, as well as the latter’s manager in Yoshiaka Tanaka. Heidi Huxley, an ever present force looming over Showdown and its inhabitants, is also around. She, much like Lucas, Komatsu and Yoshiaka, is watching the General Manager of Showdown pace back-and-forth. Kennedy emits a strained sigh after some time, turning and speaking to the Disney employee. )
Kennedy Street: You know, today has been quite the stressful endeavour. Kennie thinks she’s due a little relaxation. Heidi, would you be a doll and schedule a masseuse for me? My feet are killing from managing all of this.. Below-average talent.
( Heidi responds with a curt nod and fingers begin working their magic, tapping away on the screen of her phone. While she is doing that, Kennedy finally brings her eyes to look upon the talent standing and waiting nervously before her. The General Manager hums to herself, swaying between Lucas, Komatsu and Yoshiaka. Occasionally, we hear mewls of approval or tuts of disappointment escape from her mouth. At one point she even reaches out a hand and suggestively drags fingers across the muscles of Lucas’ arms. Kennedy shakes her head, almost in disbelief as she perches on the front of her office desk. )
Kennedy Street: This is something that Kennie just isn’t understanding. Because the two of you have the look of champions; you certainly feel like champions too. Yet, when it comes to earning your keep on Showdown, more often than not the two of you fall flat on your faces. Look, this brand used to be the premier brand for professional wrestling. But what’s clear to me is that Hurricane Hawk was keeping a few people on due to complacency. Let me ask the two of you something and please be honest. What’s the issue? A lack of motivation— is it a financial issue? Why aren’t Lucas Johnson and Komatsu Ogawa champions in Elite Answers Wrestling?
( Lucas and Komatsu are both silent. It’d be Yoshiaka who would attempt to speak up. However, as soon as his mouth opened to utter the beginning of a sentence, Kennedy would zoom in and press her finger to his lips. Faint tutting ensues. She wags her finger, then her head from one side to the other. It becomes clear that the question was perhaps rhetorical, as Kennedy returns to her seat atop of her desk. She crosses one leg over the other, a pout befalls her features. )
Kennedy Street: This company is the biggest promotion on the planet— that is undisputed. You won’t find a place that is as consistent and has been doing it as long as this one has. That’s why Disney looked to invest, putting so much manpower and money into taking wrestling as a sport that one step further; making it all-the-more mainstream. So, we expect excellence. There’s companies that’ll pick up the scraps, the deadweight, we don’t want people here if they’re not striving to be the best versions of themselves. For some reason, Kennie feels that the two of you are holding back. You’re not giving it your all, and we can’t have that. Heidi worked very hard to get me in this position so that Showdown could be the best. The ice is thin for you two.
Kennedy Street: So, how do we remedy this situation? Kennie wants to know something, she has just one question for the two of you. Because this brand needs to start holding its competitors accountable and call people out when they’re slacking, which the two of you clearly have been doing for a while now. Lucas, Komatsu. Where do you think that you can improve?
( Kennedy’s gaze flickers over to Lucas, who after a few seconds, mutters out an answer. )
Lucas Johnson: I think that I need to get back to the basics. Strip myself down to the foundation and work on expanding my skills from the beginning. I’m doing too much and I’m overly-invested in trying to put on a performance, when I should just be focused on winning matches. So that’s what I need to work on, this is definitely a wake-up call! I’ll start focusing more on results and not trying to be overly-flashy in the ring. Because I will work so hard to stay here on Showdown.
( The General Manager nods, before her eyes move on over to Komatsu and then Yoshiaka. )
Yoshiaka Tanaka: Komatsu needs a killer instinct. Komatsu has the basics and knows what to do when it comes to wrestling, maybe there has been a lack of motivation. Where he excels is getting matches to that point, but more often than not he’s been incapable of putting his opposition away. But this will change! We will dig deep, deep down and work on improving so that Komatsu isn’t ousted from Showdown.
Kennedy Street: Thank you both for your honesty. It’s appreciated. There’s big, big areas for improvement and what’s good is that it’s recognised. So, here’s what we’ll do. Lucas and Komatsu, you’ll have opportunities next week to prove just how much being on Saturday Night Showdown means to the both of you. Kennie will find some matches for you and it’s an opportunity to really show that you’re not trying to make a fool of this company and the people within it by skating from one month to the next. So convince me, honey. Convince the world that you’re more than what your careers have been since the beginning of this season. It’s the start of a new year, isn’t it? A perfect chance to leave the past behind and turn over a new leaf. It doesn’t need to be said, but what happened to Abel Atami and Lila Vandran should serve as an example of what can happen if Kennie doesn’t feel you’re giving it your all! Do you understand?
( Lucas, Komatsu and Yoshiaka all nod, soon after Kennedy gives them the all clear to leave. She sits down on her office chair in a huff, kicking off her high heels soon after. She meets Heidi’s gaze as Heidi praises her for a speech well delivered. Kennedy shrugs her shoulders and soaks in the adulation, deep down she knows how good she is at her job in spite of the criticism and the hate. Heidi returns to scrolling through her phone whilst Kennedy pulls up a tablet from the desk, presumably to do administrative work. We transition elsewhere in the show soon after with Lucas Johnson and Komatsu Ogawa having been given a chance to turn their fortunes around on Saturday Night Showdown! )
( The scene fades back to the show as ‘7 Rings’ by Ariana Grande starts playing into a chorus of boo. Veena Adams completely ignores the crowd and makes her way down to join the commentary table as Gina Romano starts announcing. )
Gina Romano: Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome!… Veena Adams!

( Jack enters the ring and quickly takes his entrance gear out. Jack’s theme music replaces by ‘The Outsiders’ by Eric Chruch as the National Elite Champion, Donovan Duke makes his way down to the ring with the title around his waist. Donovan walks straight down to the ring and looks totally ready to tear Jack apart. )

Jack is worn down by the fight he has put up so far, and lying in a vulnerable position. Jack starts using his willpower and stamina to pull himself back up to a standing position to continue the fight. The same goes for the champion who starts coming back to his feet after being taken down by Jack’s counterattack.
Eve: Jack regains his position and delivers a powerful kick to his chest of Donovan! Jack tries to strike his calf but Donovan catches him! Donovan grabs Jack’s leg and twists it in a manner that mimics the motion of screwing a dragon! A Dragon Screw connects! Donovan targets knee and ankle of Jack as he pushes Jack down to the mat, making his back lie against the canvas…. grabbing Jack’s leg once again, typically from behind, and twisting it in a circular motion, similar to the motion of screwing in a bolt! Another Dragon Screw by the champion, causing pain and potentially damaging the ligaments!
Gavin Kirkland: The champion tries to break Jack’s leg at this point! Donovan looks for an Ankle lock but Jack uses his free leg to kick him away! Jack keeps kicking as Donovan slowly lets him go and steps back away from him. Jack holds down his leg that just took two dragon screws and starts coming back to both knees. Donovan goes for a SPEAR! CUTTING JACK IN HALF!
Deadprez: A DDT BY THE FORMER ANSWERS WORLD CHAMPION! Donovan charges toward his opponent and tackles him with a shoulder block to the chest but Jack snatches him by his head, driving his head into the mat with a DDT of high-level technical skill and quick thinking!
Eve: Jack surprises Donovan and gains a strategic advantage in the match back. Jack starts coming back to his feet while Donovan tries to recover from that DDT spot. Jack leans his back against the corner…. STEPS IN AND KNOCKS THE CHAMPION OUT COLD WITH ‘YOU’LL FLOAT TOO’ !!!!!!!!!! A MASSIVE SUPERKICK BY JACK!
Gavin Kirkland: A LARIAT TURNS JACK INSIDE OUT! Donovan pops back to his feet with a powerful strike, charging toward Jack, extending his arm out, and connecting with a huge lariat, turning Jack all around 360 degrees which is sure to impress us! Jack tries to recover from the lariat but too late, Duke comes from behind, placing one arm under Jack’s chest and the other arm over Jack’s shoulder…. Eve: Donovan goes for a right hand but Jack blocks the fist and goes for a kick on his own! Donovan catches the rope and spins him around… positioning himself behind Jack, who is typically bent over in a crouched position.
Eve: Donovan wraps his arms under Jack’s arms, locking in a tight grip. Donovan lifts the opponent up and over his shoulders, flipping him backward and driving the back of Jack’s neck down onto the mat with great force! A Dragon Suplex applies!
Gavin Kirkland: ….JACK LANDS ON HIS FEET!
Gavin Kirkland: Jack runs towards Donovan, who is standing and facing away. Jack charges as he jumps and extends one knee, striking the back of the opponent’s skull! DAYLIGHT SLAYING TIME! Deadprez: Donovan is standing in the ring, facing Jack. Jack grabs the top rope with both hands and pulls himself toward the opponent. As Donovan is pulled toward his opponent, Jack uses his legs to kick him in the midsection….

( ‘Blue World’ by Mac Miller starts playing as Donovan looks unbelievable at the loss he just witnessed while Jack with a smile on his face looking at Donovan embarrasses himself. The final shot displays Veena and Donovan look at each other. Veena smirks and Donovan looks mad then the scene fades into the commercial break. )
(‘Superhero (Heroes and Villains)’ by Metro Boomin, Future and Chris Brown hits over the PA system and Harley Lewis steps out onto the ramp, his face stoic and lacking in any emotion. For someone who has gone through the wringer over the past few months, another emotion he shows in plentiful supply is a calmness.)
Deadprez: Harley Lewis stepping out here with maybe something to say. Not had the best of times of late that young man.
Eve: That’s not the half of it… considering how highly thought of he was when he first entered this company.
Gavin Kirkland: There is no doubt he has talent; he just needs to focus it. But can he with everything else going on?
Deadprez: EAW has a fantastic record of signing the best talent. Sometimes, it takes time, even for the very best. Way, I look at it is that Harley has wanted too much, too soon and when it didn’t come, he lost his way. It can just be a single piece of the puzzle missing that can make the difference. I’ve no doubt that is the case with Harley Lewis.
(Harley hits the ring, and slides under the bottom rope, taking in the mixed reaction from the capacity crowd. He walks over and takes a mic from a crew member, before waiting for his music to stop, when he then lifts the mic to his lips.)
Harley Lewis: There is no question that since I signed on the dotted line here in EAW, a lot was expected of me. Truth be told, I expected a lot from myself. I knew full well that I had all the tools required to be a major player in this company. I understood that all I needed was the experience to go with it, and the results would undoubtedly come. For the last few months, as the record started to look way too imbalanced towards the ‘loss’ column, I searched for the missing piece that would rectify all issues. I continuously tried to make sure that those people who thought so highly of me weren’t made to look foolish. It didn’t happen, nothing changed, in fact the situation got progressively worse, until I find myself here, wondering which way to turn to repay that faith that was given to me. Wondering if I am even capable of repaying that faith. Wondering if I could pinpoint a moment when it all started to go so terribly wrong.
(He lowers the mic for a moment, remaining calm as he speaks.)
Deadprez: Right now, I think we are looking at someone who is lost
Gavin Kirkland: I think we are looking at someone who needs to pull up his big boy pants
Eve: Ever the sympathetic soul Gavin.
Gavin Kirkland: Hey, this is a tough biz… either shape up or ship out.
Harley Lewis: The worst part of it all, I started my tenure in this company by getting to the finals of the New Era Classic at Pain for Pride. I faced Joso, who has gone from strength to strength, whereas I have been losing Championship matches time and time again. Look at him, and then look at me.
Deadprez: I guess it is a fair comparison, both were held in high regards after that match. Joso has advanced but Harley most certainly has not.
Harley Lewis: I even tried to help two individuals in Ogawa and Johnson, two men that simply couldn’t be helped. While all the time, I had MUCH bigger problems than they had. MY career was what should have been important. MY business was what I needed to take care of. I need to concentrate on Harley Lewis…PERIOD.
(His facial expression almost instantly changes, his emotionless face now showing something different, his eyes narrowed. He starts to laugh, almost manically and he lifts his hand, running it through his hair so that it slicks back. He then finds the nearest camera, and steps up close to it. A huge, almost wicked smile on his face.)
Deadprez: What just happened?
Eve: I have no clue… it’s like his whole demeanor just changed in front of our eyes.
(Harley licks his lips and then bites the bottom one, the sneer still obvious as he speaks in a whole lot darker tone.)
Harley Lewis: Elite Answers Wrestling, rest assured. None of the events of the past few months will ever be repeated. I’m done trying to help individuals who cannot be helped no matter how much I might try. I’m done promising the world, and then delivering little. Things are going to change around here; MY name is going to be the one on everyone’s lips. And even if you don’t like me, you will ALL fear me.
(He laughs again, with somehow even more evil intent.)

Eve: You could sense it in the arena, they weren’t sure what was going on. I’m sure in the coming weeks we will find out exactly what he was talking about when he spoke of the ‘Killing Joke’.
Gavin Kirkland: I don’t know, but I got serious evil villain vibes here, and that can’t be good for this company. I wonder if the delightful Kennedy Street is looking on
Eve: I wonder what she is thinking to be honest… This could go two ways.
Deadprez: All I know is that everything we thought we knew about Harley Lewis can be thrown in the trash. This is a totally different animal… and he is looking for blood. But who, or what, will be his first target
(Harley stands, his chest rising and falling as the adrenaline flows through his body. The wicked smile forms on his face again, the camera zooming in to show just his face. It is on that image that the scene fades to a commercial.)

Deadprez: Here comes Xander Payne as he heads to the ring for First Round action. Even though his partner Ryan is also in the tournament, he believes that he’s already earned his spot in the finals.
Gavin Kirkland: I mean there could be some legitimacy to his claims. Xander is a former World Champion and he made it to the finals two years ago. Xander would like nothing more than to make it back to the finals again this year, win the tournament, and find himself back in the World Title picture.
Eve: Xander and Ryan already have a tag team match at King of Elite, but both have made no qualms about the possibility of pulling double duty. Xander should be careful because his opponent is no pushover.
(Xander enters the ring and Ryan takes his place at ringside as Xander’s music fades off. Seconds later, “Manners” by BAND-MAID starts to play as Alex Myers enters the arena. The reaction for Alex is the complete opposite of Xander’s. The crowd is absolutely cheering and going wild for the young Elitist as they head to the ring.)
Gina Romano: Introducing his opponent! They are from Auckland, New Zealand. Weighing in at 180 pounds! Here is “THE GUARDIAN ANGEL” ALEX MYERS!
Gavin Kirkland: Listen to the ovation for young Alex Myers. Alex is making their second appearance in the King of Elite tournament. Last year, they made it all the way to the semifinals before being eliminated by the eventual winner, Andre Walker. This year they’re looking to go all the way.
Eve: But you have to look at the draw that Alex Meyers got this year in the first round. Depending on how you look at things, it could be a good draw or a bad draw, but we all know that Alex is not going to give up regardless of what disadvantages people think they have.
Deadprez: Alex stated that they wanted to be the first ever non-binary King of Elite tournament winner. It’s a tall task, but if anybody could pull off the feat, it’s certainly Alex Myers. If Alex can knock off Xander Payne in the first round, I can see them being a huge favorite to make it all the way to the finals. Who’s going to be the fourth and final competitor to make it to the quarterfinals for Showdown? We’re about to find out now.
(Alex enters the ring as the crowd still cheers loudly for them. They take their respective corner as their music fades off. The referee checks both competitors before calling for the bell.)

Deadprez: Here we go! This match is underway. This is the last First Round match of the Showdown bracket. Alex and Xander right now meet up in the center of the ring. Xander and Alex look to lock up–
Eve: XANDER JUST SHOVES ALEX DOWN TO THE MAT! Alex did not like that one bit. Who do you think has the advantage in this match out of the gate? After that little stunt, you might have to say Xander.
Gavin Kirkland: You could agree since Xander has 75 pounds on Alex, so Xander has a power advantage. Alex will have to use their speed and high flying arsenal in order to stand a better chance of victory tonight.
Deadprez: Alex is back to their feet and gets right back in Xander’s face! Alex won’t back down and they won’t back up. Alex wants another lock up. Xander looks ready to oblige, BUT HE JUST HEADBUTTS ALEX! CAUGHT ALEX RIGHT IN THE FOREHEAD AND ALEX STAGGERS BACK!
Gavin Kirkland: Xander with the advantage and he is throwing stiff forearm shots into the side of Alex’s head and that sends Alex back into the ropes. Xander whips Alex to the other side. Alex with the rebound AND XANDER PLANTS THEM WITH A VERY STIFF CLOTHESLINE!
Eve: Alex is down as Xander hits the ropes himself AND GOES FOR THAT SENTON, BUT ALEX GETS OUT OF THE WAY AT THE LAST SECOND AND XANDER FINDS NOTHING BUT THE MAT!
Deadprez: That might have broken a board underneath the ring the way he landed.
Eve: Come on, Prezzy. That wasn’t very nice.
Deadprez: I know I apologize about that! But Xander holds his back in pain as Alex hits the ropes AND DELIVERS A LOW DROPKICK RIGHT TO XANDER’S FACE! XANDER KNOCKED BACK AFTER THAT DROPKICK!
Gavin Kirkland: Alex taking this moment of control and they just mount Xander and just start pounding lefts and rights into Xander’s face! The referee admonishes Alex to open up their closed fists and they oblige.
Eve: Alex pulls Xander back to his feet and tries to whip Xander to the ropes. Xander uses the power advantage and reverses the Irish Whip and Alex goes for the ride. Alex looks to rebound BUT THEY WRAP THEIR ARMS AROUND THE TOP ROPE AND STOP!
Deadprez: Xander runs full speed to Alex, BUT XANDER IS MET WITH ALEX’S BOOT RIGHT IN THE FACE! Xander staggers back, but he runs back again. This time Alex wraps their legs around Xander’s head.
Gavin Kirkland: Alex is still holding onto the top rope and they FALL BACKWARD! THE AMAZING LEG POWER BY ALEX MYERS TAKES XANDER PAYNE OVER THE TOP ROPE AND ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR!
Deadprez: Creative counter by Alex Myers as Xander lands on his feet on the outside. Xander tries to sweep Alex’s feet out from under them, BUT ALEX JUMPS AND KICKS XANDER RIGHT IN THE FACE! Xander knocked to the floor after that direct boot.
Eve: Alex gets back into the ring and hits the far ropes. Alex comes back at full speed and FLINGS THEMSELF OVER THE TOP ROPE AND HE SENDS XANDER CRASHING BACK DOWN TO THE FLOOR WITH BEAUTIFUL TOPE CON HILO!
Gavin Kirkland: This is exactly what Alex needs to do! They can’t try to match power with Xander unless they want disastrous results. Xander is down again as Alex gets back on the apron.
Deadprez: They are calling for Xander to get back to his feet. Xander is slowly getting back to his feet and ALEX JUMPS FROM THE APRON AND CATCHES XANDER IN THE FACE WITH A DOUBLE AXE HANDLE FROM THE APRON!

Eve: Alex is still in control of the match as they just start delivering the boots all over Xander Payne as Xander tries to get back to his feet. Xander is back up and Alex decides to hit the ropes. Alex rebound and JUMPS, BUT XANDER CAUGHT THEM!
Gavin Kirkland: Xander grabs Alex’s legs and gets them into the slingshot position. Xander drags Alex to the corner AND FALLS BACK! SLINGSHOT BY XANDER PAYNE—
Deadprez: ALEX CATCHES THEMSELF ON THE MIDDLE ROPE! Alex takes this chance to keep climbing the turnbuckles to try and go for another high risk move, but they don’t realize that Xander is back to his feet–

Eve: OH MY GAWD! ALEX JUST GOT TO THE TOP ROPE AND XANDER JUST SHOVES ALEX OFF THE TOP ROPE! ALEX GOES FLYING AND THEY LAND CHEST FIRST ON THE RING STEPS! THAT WAS A VERY DANGEROUS LANDING!
Deadprez: ALEX IS BARELY MOVING AS THEY ROLL OFF THE RING STEPS AND LAND ON THE RINGSIDE FLOOR! Just like that, Xander with a quick reverse of fortune and Xander is back in control of this match.
Gavin Kirkland: Ryan Joseph Wilson is keeping his distance with a look of approval on his face as Xander rolls back outside the ring. Xander grabs hold of Alex, brings them back to their feet, AND WHIPS THEM RIGHT BACK INTO THE RING STEPS!
Eve: Alex landed back first against the ring steps and Alex is holding their lower back in pain after that landing. Xander grabs a handful of Alex’s hair and brings them back to their feet. Alex hoisted right on Xander’s shoulder AND XANDER SENDS ALEX FACE FIRST INTO THE RING BARRICADE!
Deadprez: Alex just falls limp to the floor, but Xander isn’t going to let them rest for a second. Xander grabs Alex and just rolls them back right into the ring. Xander quickly enters the ring. Alex is back to their knees AND XANDER DELIVERS THAT BASEMENT PENALTY KICK!

Deadprez: Another ugly landing from Alex Myers and right now Xander Payne is doing nothing more than weakening Alex down to make sure that they don’t kick out when it really matters. Right now, who knows how much damage has been done to Alex’s back.
Gavin Kirkland: Xander doesn’t care. Xander wants to advance to the King of Elite finals. Xander wants to win the tournament and find himself with another World Title match. He doesn’t care who he has to hurt to become champion again.
Eve: He’s doing a great job right now as he lifts Alex back up and shoves them into the corner. Alex is trying to catch their breath, but it doesn’t last long as XANDER JUST CHOPS ALEX RIGHT ACROSS THE CHEST!
Gavin Kirkland: HOLY MOLY! DID YOU HEAR THAT CHOP FROM HERE? Imagine what it sounded like to the viewers at home. Alex was looking to fall limp to the floor, but Xander pulls them back up AND HE CHOPS ALEX AGAIN!
Deadprez: AGAIN AND AGAIN! CHOP AFTER CHOP LIGHTING UP ALEX’S CHEST! MACHINE GUN CHOPS BY XANDER PAYNE AND ALEX’S CHEST IS REALLY REALLY RED! THAT’S HOW HARD XANDER HAS BEEN CHOPPING ALEX!
Eve: Now Xander is in his realm as he picks up Alex and puts them on the top rope. Xander quickly follows suit and he is standing on the second rope. Xander has a facelock on Alex and Xander is going to try a superplex!
Gavin Kirkland: Xander is trying to take Alex up, BUT ALEX IS BLOCKING IT AS BEST AS THEY CAN! XANDER IS TRYING HIS HARDEST BUT ALEX JUST WON’T GO! Xander tries to throw a right hand, but Alex blocks the right hand and throws a right hand of their own.
Deadprez: Xander tries again, but Alex blocks again and fires another shot. Shot after shot by Alex Myers sends Xander off balance as HE SLIPS OFF THE MIDDLE ROPE AND HE GOES BACK TO THE MAT!
Gavin Kirkland: Xander lands on his feet and Alex gets to a standing position on the top turnbuckle. ALEX QUICKLY JUMPS AND CATCHES XANDER’S HEAD WITH HIS LEGS AND TAKES XANDER OVER WITH A BEAUTIFUL HEADSCISSORS! That was almost a hurricanrana right there.
Eve: Xander went for a ride right there as he got sent into the ropes. Alex is back to their feet and THEY DELIVER A DROPKICK AND THAT SENDS XANDER THROUGH THE ROPES TO THE FLOOR!
Deadprez: Alex Myers once again hits the ropes full speed but this time they dive through the ropes. ALEX LIKE A TORPEDO TAKES XANDER DOWN WITH A SUICIDE DIVE! XANDER’S BACK CRASHES RIGHT AGAINST OUR ANNOUNCE TABLE!
Gavin Kirkland: The crowd is going absolutely wild for the young Alex Myers. They are firmly behind the competitor who calls themself “The Guardian Angel”. The crowd is chanting for Alex Myers.
Eve: Xander is on his knees, but Alex is nearby and they JUST KICK XANDER RIGHT IN THE RIBS WITH THAT SOCCER STYLE PUNT! KICK AFTER KICK AS THEY WEAKEN THE RIBS AND CORE SECTION OF XANDER!
Deadprez: That would be a smart strategy. Weaken Xander’s midsection and that could take away some of that power game that uses so well. But look at Alex. They are holding their lower back. They are still feeling that crash and burn situation earlier in the match.
Eve: Xander is holding their ribs after those repeated soccer kicks and the referee’s count has just reached seven as Alex rolls back into the ring to break the count before they roll out to the apron to restart the count.
Gavin Kirkland: Alex is once again climbing up to the top rope as they wait for Xander to get back to their feet. Alex is hunched down ready to strike as Xander gets back to his feet AND ALEX FLIES AGAIN—
Deadprez: CROSSBODY FROM THE TOP ROPE BY ALEX MYERS TAKING XANDER PAYNE BACK DOWN TO THE FLOOR! HIGH RISK MOVE PAYS OFF FOR ALEX MYERS! What is Alex planning on doing now?
Eve: They are climbing back up to the top rope. They realize they need to take some high risks in order to get the big rewards. This time Alex has their back to the floor. Oh this could be dangerous.

Gavin Kirkland: Come on, Eve. We all know that the words “give up” are not in Alex’s vocabulary. They would much rather pass out or go through extreme pain before tapping out. Alex hasn’t yelled in pain, but you can look at their face.

Deadprez: Alex can’t believe it. They honestly thought they had the match won there and boy that was so close. Listen to this crowd. They are enjoying this match as much as we are. You can only find competitors like Xander and Alex on the blue brand of Showdown.
Eve: If the Showdown bracket is giving this intensity in the first rounds in the tournament, I think that whoever becomes the finalist for Showdown stands a very good chance of winning the entire tournament.
Gavin Kirkland: I agree. Right now Alex has slowly made it back to their feet and they are waiting for Xander to do the same. Xander is slowly moving and it looks like Alex is gearing up to catch Xander when he’s up. Xander is back to his feet AND ALEX FIRES OFF HIS LEG–

Xander just dropped Alex as his attention is now on the music playing in the arena. He does NOT appreciate being interrupted. Whose music is this?
(Seconds after Eve asks that, Usagi Senshi and Ayu Megumi enter the arena and stand at the top of the entrance ramp.)
Gavin Kirkland: Now I remember who this music belongs to. There are the Ice Aces! That explains a lot! Usagi Senshi and Ayu Megumi are here on Showdown and they are making their appearance felt tonight.
Eve: They have a match at King of Elite against Xander and Ryan. Now Xander’s attention is focused at the top of the entrance ramp. Xander is yelling for them to come down to the ring but they are just standing and waving from the top of the entrance ramp!
Deadprez: Xander is not happy at all as he waves off Ayu and Usagi and HE DOESN’T REALIZE ALEX IS ON THE TOP ROPE NOW! SLOWLY XANDER TURNS AND HE TURNS RIGHT TO ALEX MYERS WHO JUMPS OFF THE TOP ROPE!
Gavin Kirkland: SUDDEN TRAUMA BY ALEX MYERS! THEY GOT ALL OF THAT SLINGBLADE AND XANDER’S HEAD WAS JUST DRIVEN INTO THE MAT! XANDER PAYNE IS DOWN!
Eve: ALEX MYERS IS CLIMBING BACK UP TO THE TOP ROPE AND THEY MIGHT BE CLOSING IN ON A VERY HUGE VICTORY HERE TONIGHT! THEY GET BACK ON THE TOP ROPE AND THEY TURN THEIR BACK TO XANDER! XANDER STILL ISN’T MOVING AND ALEX JUMPS FOR THE MOONSAULT!
Deadprez: THAT’S NOT JUST A MOONSAULT, EVE! THAT’S THE ANGELIC BLESSING BY ALEX MYERS! MOONSAULT INTO THE REVERSE SENTON AND THEY GOT ALL OF IT! XANDER GOT CAUGHT RIGHT IN THAT BIG BREADBASKET AS ALEX SCRAMBLES INTO THE COVER! DID XANDER JUST GET BLESSED BY ALEX MYERS? THE LEG IS HOOKED!

(“Manners” starts playing again as the crowd goes absolutely crazy in cheers as Alex Myers makes it back to their feet.)
Gina Romano: Ladies and gentlemen! Here is your winner and ADVANCING TO THE QUARTERFINALS OF THE KING OF ELITE TOURNAMENT… ALEX MYERS!!!
Deadprez: Holy crap! WHAT A MATCH THAT WE JUST WITNESSED TONIGHT! Two competitors who put it all on the line to advance in the King of Elite tournament. What a victory for Alex Myers. Such heart and such passion shown by both these athletes.
(The referee raises Alex’s arm in victory as the crowd is still going crazy. Ryan then enters the ring, so Alex quickly exits the ring to be safe.)
Gavin Kirkland: I agree, Prezzy. That was an amazing match. Both competitors threw everything they had at each other. Xander Payne was easily considered the favorite going into this match, so I would call this victory by Alex Myers a small upset.
Eve: I wouldn’t call it that at all. Alex has been improving by leaps and bounds since they’ve debuted and this is an example of hard work paying off. Now they are one step closer to accomplishing their goal.
Gavin Kirkland: I didn’t mean it with disrespect. It’s just that Xander is a former World Champion and a favorite in this tournament, so it’s a shock that he’s gone in the first round.
Deadprez: Xander showed why he’s always a threat in the ring, but unfortunately a case of bad luck and an appearance by the Ice Aces led to the ultimate demise of Xander Payne.
Eve: Xander fought hard, but it’s Alex Myers who will advance. They unfortunately have another tough task in the quarterfinals as they now face Adam Lucas. Congratulations to Alex Myers on an amazing victory.
Deadprez: Congrats to Alex indeed. Alex Myers vs. Adam Lucas is going to tear the roof off the place. I can’t wait to see that match again. That match will be happening in the coming weeks to see who will advance to the semifinals
Gavin Kirkland: But what about what’s starting to brew up between the two tag teams? Tonight is not going to sit well with Wilson and Payne after Ayu and Usagi pretty much have screwed Xander Payne out of the tournament.
Eve: They didn’t do anything! All they did was come out on the entrance ramp. Xander took his eye off the ball and that gave Alex the opening needed. But I will agree that this won’t sit well with Xander or Ryan.
Deadprez: It certainly won’t. But at King of Elite it’s going to be Ice Aces taking on Xander Payne and Ryan Joseph Wilson. Things are just starting to heat up with this scenario, but once again, we offer our congratulations to Alex Myers on a huge and amazing victory tonight.
(The final shot shows Alex celebrating their victory before cutting to the Ice Aces, who are waving down to the ring at Ryan and Xander before cutting down to an angry Xander and Ryan glaring up the entrance ramp angry that Xander’s been eliminated from the tournament before the camera cuts to the final commercial.)
(As Showdown comes back from commercial, “Her” by Megan Thee Stallion continues to play throughout the arena as the chorus of boos, though some cheering for her absolute beauty, the General Manager, Kennedy Street is already in the middle of the ring, holding a mic. There are two tables connected with one small in the middle in a “U” shaped for Kennedy to sit between the two parties.)
Kennedy Street: Gina…. Introduce your Sexy Flawless General Manager, honey.
(Gina Romano nods.)
Gina Romano: Everyone, please welcome at this time, the Showdown General Manager…. KENNEDY STREET!
(More boos ring out as Kennedy smiles, looking out into the crowd and thanking everyone for the “warm” welcome.)
Kennedy Street: All of that for me!? You shouldn’t have! Kennie loves the warm welcome, THANK YOU! Now I know most of you came out to see the great Elitists of Showdown and what an incredible Main Event we had here tonight, BUT it is not over as I feel like we need a LIVE DOUBLE contract signing with two of the biggest matches this season on Showdown and my first King of Elite, honey! But before I do, seeing what happened last week to end Showdown, I would like to bring out Portland’s finest just to make sure that there are no shenanigans.
(Four armed Portland Police Officers walk out. The crowd sends a mixed reaction as they surround the ring. Kennedy looks on and smiles before she continues to speak.)
Kennedy Street: That’s better. Now, it is my pleasure to introduce to you, honey…. Kassidy Heart and Impact!
(‘Partition (Smearcase Trap Remix)’ by Beyoncé starts to play throughout the arena as everyone boos when Kassidy Heart walks out. Dressed in black Spanx, a red halter top and matching open toed heels, the gorgeous former Answers World Champion and King of Elite slowly makes her way to the ring but stops halfway as her music fades to “M3tamorphosis” by Playboi Carti ft. Kid Cudi, as the fans erupts in boos again as he walks out wearing leather pants and jacket, boots, with no shirt . He reaches Kassidy, the two look at one another and nod before heading to the ring.)
Deadprez: Kassidy and Impact come out as stars, and they know that this is a huge opportunity for both and when will it go head to head? Kassidy at some point is going to want an Answers World Championship match!
Eve: Oh, I am sure that is brewing, but taking out Ms. Extreme is first on her list and a win there would position her back at the very top, but that will complicate things if Impact is Champion once again!
Gavin Kirkland: Can’t we just bask in their glory and not assume anything. Besides, have we not talked enough on how beautiful our General Manager is, and she is single?
(Impact and Kassidy Heart get in the ring, Kassidy, and Kennedy hug, she then shakes the hand of Impact who nods in respect.)
Kennedy Street: This is what I am talking about, surrounded by absolute greatness. This is what Showdown is all about and please, sit down, make yourselves comfortable, honey.
(As Kassidy and Impact sit, with microphones in front of them, Impact speaks first.)
Impact: Thank you Kennedy, lovely as always and very excited if I am to choose the right words to get my Championship back because let’s face it, Jake Smith was never World Champion material. It was a fluke, his greatest moment was crawling to the ring after I had already fallen 20 feet from the top thanks to the recklessness of Adam Lucas, but with a General Manager that knows what is good for business, I succeeded and walked out as the Answers World Champion from the Chamber and it was Jake Smith who decided to turn in his Cash in the Vault, so I hope he enjoyed his time as World Champion with my title.
Kassidy Heart: Let us not forget Ms. Extreme, always coming out here and trying to get one over on me with her edgy hyperbole of all things. How many anti-Disney tropes are we going to have here, seriously? Ms. Extreme should have stayed gone, but if she wants to go to the very top of the pecking order, then be my guest, and if none of you are following along, that would be me. Ms. Extreme is one of the main reasons Jake Smith was able to cash in, even after I annihilated him earlier in the night. It’s really pathetic when you think about it. Honestly Kennedy, after King of Elite, this little rebellion of Ms. Extreme ends and when Impact becomes the Answers World Champion, then we can get back to making sure we get the proper Main Event at Pain for Pride.
(The crowd boos while Kennedy snickers, she is about to speak again when suddenly…. “They Call Me A God” by NEFFEX plays throughout the arena, the crowd stands up and cheers. Ms. Extreme walks out in jeans, boots, a black t-shirt and leather jackets, sleeves rolled up. She looks around as the crowd continues their reaction as she makes her way to the ring, but when she gets on the apron, she stands there for a moment before her music transitions to “WAR” by Grandson. The crowd again cheers as Jake Smith walks out holding the championship ove4r his shoulder. He soaks it all up before heading to the ring.)
Deadprez: Ms. Extreme and the Answers World Champion, Jake Smith are here! They didn’t wait for no introductions! Here they storm to the ring!
Eve: Kennedy Street did the right thing by getting Portland Police to surround the ring and look at Ms. Extreme, she looks more determined than ever!
Gavin Kirkland: Our beautiful Kennedy Street needs to be careful! I will protect her!
Eve: Oh, shut up, Gavin.
(Jake Smith gets to the ring and slides in wearing jeans and long sleeve polo shirt,, he holds up the World Championship again but the crowd notices Ms. Extreme right in the face of General Manager, Kennedy Street.)
Kennedy Street: CUT THE DAMN MUSIC!
(The music quickly stops.)
Kennedy Street: I know that you think that you’re tough. And there isn’t a single person here honey that is doubting that. But I’m in my early thirties, I NEVER retired from professional wrestling, I just took a better paying job in it. I have been doing this since I was 18, I can still defeat the majority if not every single Elitist in this company inside the ring, don’t make me take off these Jimmy Choo’s right now and knock your teeth out, Camille.
Crowd: OOOOHHHHH!!!!!
(The crowd is stunned at what Kennedy says to Ms. Extreme who starts to smile.)
Ms. Extreme: And ruin your fresh pedicure, “Kennie”? I’d love to see you try it.
Kennedy Street: Fortunately for you this is NOT about us, it is about YOU and one of if not the greatest female Elitist in the EAW, Kassidy Heart, so back up, sit down and let’s get this contract signing over with.
Ms. Extreme: You didn’t say, please.
(Kennedy cracks a sheepish grin before saying….)
Kennedy Street: Please, honey.
(Ms. Extreme sits down across from Kassidy, Jake Smith across from Impact, just then Kennedy points to the ring attendant who hands her a bottle of Fiji Water, she places it next to Jake.)
Kennedy Street: Don’t ever say I don’t treat my World Champions with respect.
Jake Smith: Thank you.
Kennedy Street: Good, let us get this contract signing over and done with now. I decided to kill two birds with one stone, we have two huge matches, one is Ms. Extreme taking on Kassidy Heart and it will be under Disney rules, which means…. A straight up match that will feature two incredible wrestlers but see, will this match favor Kassidy? We will see. Secondly, the first defense of Jake Smith against the man he took the title from….. and that is none other than Impact, an Elitist who is looking to be the ELEVEN time World Champion and not just that but had one of the best seasons on Showdown not named Kassidy Heart. These are two matches that will set the pace for the rest of the season and with that, Kassidy and Impact had a few things to say, it is only fair if Ms. Extreme and Jake Smith speak.
(Ms. Extreme wastes no time and speaks…..)
Ms. Extreme: Last week obviously solved nothing. Kassidy always wants to act like her BLEEP doesn’t stink and is untouchable. For years I have always wrestled that stigma that I was never on her level. Well guess what, Kassidy…. Come King of Elite I am going top show you that I am, but even more than that, I’m going to stand against everything that is Disney and that includes her.
(Pointing at Kennedy Street who feigns surprise and looks around acting shocked and being extremely sarcastic.)
Ms. Extreme: Let me make this clear, I’m not going to fail. Showdown doesn’t deserve this and while I didn’t come out at Road to Redemption to help Jake Smith, the cards just fell that way, But come King of Elite? I’m doing this for ME.
Kassidy Heart: Somehow that doesn’t surprise me Camille, you have always been self-entitled, think that because you were the longest reigning Universal Women’s Champion that it means suddenly you can just barge into Showdown and think that you can take your place at the top of the card? No, this is my brand, [BLEEP] and it has been for a long time now. I would happily drop you back where you belong as a bottom feeder.
Ms. Extreme: I’m going to make you eat those words.
(Kennedy finally interrupts.)
Kennedy Street: Okay.,… okay…. Enough. Now for you Jake, any words?
Jake Smith: First off, thank you for the Fiji Water, a champion like me deserves it. Secondly, Impact was it really a fluke? I mean Kennedy, our incredibly talented, beautiful, and smart General Manager did help you beat Adam Lucas. The fact is, you are willing to do anything in order to discredit me and while I shouldn’t act surprised, to be fair, I kind of am. I get it, having to keep appearances is exhausting but think about this for a second. How will it look when Jake Smith defeats Impact one on one without a Cash In The Vault? Huh?
(Impact cracks a smirk.)
Impact: Considering your track record? I’m not worried about it at all. Matter of fact, there isn’t a single person here that thinks you can do it. Just give me the contract so I can kick the crap out of this stupid idiot.
Kennedy Street: As you wish.
(Impact takes the contract and signs it, Kassidy as well, she signs it without any hesitation. They give it back to Kennedy who hands it over to both Ms. Extreme and Jake Smith. They do the same and sign it before Ms. Extreme throws the pen at Kassidy almost stabbing her in the eye….)
Kennedy Street: ENOUGH! The contracts are signed, and the matches are now official!
(But it is too late as Ms. Extreme flips the table and Kassidy jumps over hers, heels flying in the air and Kassidy tackles down Ms. Extreme, Jake, and Impact follow suit as both start to lay fists on each other….)
Deadprez: ALL HELL HAS BROKEN LOSE! KASSIDY HEART AND MS. EXTREME ARE BEATING EACH OTHER UP ON THE MAT! FISTS FLYING EVERYWHERE! IMPACT GRABS JAKE SMITH AND THROWS HIM INTO THE TURNBUCKLE! IMPACT STARTS TO SHOULDER BLOCK JAKE WHILE MS. EXTREME THROWS KASSIDY OFF HER!
Eve: THE GENERAL MANAGER IS TRYING TO BREAK UP THE FRAY AND MS. EXTREME…… SHE JUST BACKHANDED KENNEDY IN THE FACE AND BUSTED HER NOSE OPEN! KENNEDY IS IN SHOCK AND SHE FALLS THROUGH THE ROPES AND TO THE FLOOR WHERE SHE SCREAMS!
Gavin Kirkland: HER BEAUTIFUL FACE HAS BEEN SCARRED! MS. EXTREME CARELESSLY TRIED TO RUIN PERFECTION!
(Kennedy screams at the police…..)
Kennedy Street: ARREST HER! TAKE HER TO JAIL NOW!
(The Police officers slide into the ring and quickly grab Ms. Extreme but she tries to fight them off….)
Deadprez: GO TO GAWD! THE SPEAR HITS MS. EXTREME AND SHE IS DOWN! LOOK AT THE OFFICERS! THEY HAVE TAKEN OUT THEIR NIGHTSTICKS AND ARE BEATING MS. EXTREME WHILE SHE IS DOWN BEFORE HANDCUFFING HER!
Eve: THIS IS POLICE BRUTALITY! LOOK AT IMPACT! HE GRABS JACKE SMITH AND LIFTS HIM UP!
(CRASH!!!!)
Gavin Kirkland: IMPACT POWERBOMBED JAKE SMITH THROUGH THE TABLE! KASSIDY IS WATCHING MS. EXTREME GET DRAGGED OUT OF THE RING IN HANDCUFFED, SHE IS BARELY ABLE TO FIGHT BACK, AS THEY DRAG HER AWAY! SHE IS GOING TO JAIL!
(The police continue to drag her away as Jake is laying in the rubble of the table, Impact holds the Answers World Championship while Kassidy looks on with a smirk on her face before rolling out of the ring, grabbing a towel from the timekeeper’s area and pressing it on Kennedy’s nose who is screaming in anger.)
Deadprez: What a wild night here on Showdown and what an ending! Ms. Extreme is going to jail! For Eve and Gavin Kirkland, thank you for joining us tonight and we will have an update on everything! See you next week in Seattle! Goodnight everyone!
(The final scene is Kennedy holding a towel to her face with the help of Kassidy as Impact holding the Answers World Championship over the fallen Jake Smith while Ms. Extreme is being placed into a police car.)
