(RECAP–Last week’s Showdown took place from the Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California. The recap starts with Jake Smith coming out to address the crowd before he was quickly interrupted by former Champion Impact before issuing a challenge for the Answers World Title at King of Elite.The first match of the evening has Lucas Johnson defeating the debuting Thomas Fresnedi. Then we have Major Michael Scott Connor being interviewed backstage before Hans Grayson comes up and they talk about wanting to start 2023 off right which eventually leads to a challenge for a match next week. The next match has the debuting Ashlynn Quinn defeating Mary S. Atlas to advance in the Empress of Elite Tournament. Then we go backstage to Holly Arrow and Harper Lee, who have established that they have a mutual understanding with each other and they decide to make an impact in EAW by going for the Unified Tag Team Titles. In the second Empress of Elite match, Dynasty’s Caroline defeats Showdown’s Lexi to advance in the tournament.)
(The recap continues with the National Elite Champion Donovan Duke coming to the ring talking about his past and his hopes for the future as he gets closer to breaking the longevity record before being interrupted by Veena Adams. She says that she shouldn’t be written off and she will be the one to end the reign of Donovan Duke. Duke offers a smile and a handshake in making the best person win, but Veena refuses and leaves the ring.The next match of the night has Jon Kelton defeating Jack Ripley by disqualification to advance in the King of Elite tournament after Jon tricked the referee with some steel chair antics. Backstage, GM Kennedy Street is talking to Abel Atami and Antonne Prudence in the hopes of getting Abel more opportunities before being interrupted by Adam Lucas. Adam isn’t happy about Road to Redemption and Kennedy said she did what she did was better for business if Impact retained in the chamber. In the third Empress of Elite match of the evening, Showdown’s Holly Arrow pins Voltage’s Candice Blair to advance to the Quarterfinals of the tournament. Then Ryan Wilson and Xander Payne are seen talking before leaving after seeing Ms. Extreme. Kyra Phillips asks Ms. Extreme for an interview before Kassidy Heart attacks her from behind before Extreme starts fighting back and the ladies have to be held back by security. That’s before Ms. Extreme issues the challenge In the main event of the evening, Adam Lucas took on Roberto De La Rosa with La Familia at ringside in a King of Elite First Round Match. We eventually found out that the referee was forced to be in favor of Roberto. Even with the fixed referee and the constant interference from La Familia, Adam picks up the win and advances in the tournament. Adam is shown celebrating the victory and GM Kennedy Street is seething at the TV monitor as the recap ends…)
(“Brick Wall” by A Day to Remember is playing throughout the beautiful Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California. The crowd in attendance is going absolutely crazy in excitement for all the Showdown action to start. The crowd has on their EAW merchandise supporting their favorite EAW Elitists while others are holding up signs cheering for their favorites or jeering towards the ones that they despise. After a few moments of the camera panning through the entire crowd, the camera finally settles at the broadcast table where the trio of Deadprez, Gavin Kirkland, and Eve are sitting and ready to once again call all the Showdown Action.)
Deadprez: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! We are on our way to the King of Elite event and things can not get any hotter. This is SATURDAY! NIGHT! SHOWDOWN! We are live from the packed SAP Center in beautiful San Jose, California. I am Deadprez and alongside Eve and Gavin Kirkland, we will be calling all the action that the Blue Brand of Elite Answers Wrestling will provide.
Eve: You are most definitely right about that, Prez. We are about four weeks away from the fifteenth annual King of Elite event. There have already been a few matches made already and it’s only just beginning.
Gavin Kirkland: Oh, Eve. I love hearing the sound of that because nothing gets my blood pumping more than WRESTLING and I love the action Showdown brings because WE WRESTLE!! So much action is coming up at King of Elite and tonight on Showdown.
Eve: I’ll agree with you there, Gavin. There is a lot of action on tap for tonight’s Showdown. Especially coming off last week’s amazing show. I’ve heard that Adam Lucas will be here tonight to get some answers about what happened last week in his King of Elite match. I’ve also heard that La Familia and Roberto de la Rosa have something to say as well. That’s all going to be tonight.
Gavin Kirkland: Not only that. Jack Ripley is here and he is no doubt fuming about what happened in his match last week and he either wants some answers or some retribution.
Deadprez: No doubt about that, but we will also have Alex Myers here tonight and they are hoping to make history at King of Elite and that will be tonight.
Gavin Kirkland: Now it’s time for my favorite part of the show. THE MATCHES, PREZZY! THE MATCHES!! We have so many matches on tap tonight. Tonight, we have Hans Grayson taking on Major Scotty Connor. Both are looking for a chance to advance their standings and build momentum here on Showdown and tonight will be a good start for one of them. We also have the dangerous Lexi taking on the returning Katherine Helle. Will Katherine’s return to Showdown be successful or will Lexi make her return a very long night?
Eve: We’ll see that later on. Also tonight we have Veena Adam going one on one against Komatsu Ogawa. With Veena competing tonight, there’s no doubt that the National Elite Champion Donovan Duke will be watching this match very closely. Also tonight, the Empress of Elite tournament continues. We have Quarterfinal action as Dynasty’s Serenity Valdez takes on Showdown’s Ashlynn Quinn. Will the former Specialists Champion show why she was a successful champion? Or will the Boujee Princess pick up the upset victory and advance to the Semifinals? That will be later tonight.
Gavin Kirkland: You talked about the Empress of Elite tournament, but we also have First Round action in the King of Elite Tournament as Ryan Joseph Wilson with Xander Payne in his corner takes on Harley Lewis. Will Ryan’s veteran instinct prevail? Or will Harley manage to outsmart Ryan and pick up one of the biggest wins of his career. That will be tonight.
Deadprez: Finally, in our main event, we have two big King of Elite matches coming alive in Tag Team action. We have the Answers World Champion Jake Smith and Ms. Extreme teaming up to take on Impact and Kassidy Heart. Will the newfound alliance between Smith and Extreme be enough to defeat one of Showdown’s most dangerous duos. We will find out later tonight! Right now, let’s take it to the ring with ring announcer Gina Romano.
Gina Romano: Everyone please welcome at this time…. ADAM LUCAS!!!
(‘You know my name’ by Chris Cornell kicks in, the fans jumping to their feet as without hesitation Adam Lucas steps out onto the ramp. He gets a huge reception, and he acknowledges it with a nod, before beginning his walk towards the ramp.)
Deadprez: Adam Lucas heading to the ring to kick off the show, and after events last week, you can bet he has plenty to say.
Eve: Huge victory for Adam last week against all the odds.
Deadprez: At one point it was five on one, but still he qualified for the quarterfinals.
Gavin Kirkland: Sometimes in life you face those odds. It’s how you react to them that shows the measure of the man, or woman.
Deadprez: Well, if there is one thing that is certain. Adam is going to have to go some to repeat last year where he got to the final, losing out narrowly to Andre Walker. I’m sure there will be plenty more obstacles placed in his way, especially if General Manager Kennedy Street has anything to do with it.
(Adam reaches the ring and walks around it, past the announce table were nods once again, grabbing a microphone from the table. He then rolls into the ring and to his feet, another huge ovation greeting him as he brings the mic to his lips.)
Adam Lucas: Forgive me for feeling a little paranoid, but it’s starting to feel like someone around here is out to get me.
(He smirks, laughter coming from the crowd as he continues.)
Adam Lucas: I mean, let’s face it. There is a whole lot of evidence forming to support my case. Situations not of my doing that seem to have been put in place to stop me from climbing the ladder and becoming the Answers World Champion. Last year, getting to the final of King of Elite, a show that seemed set for Andre Walkers victory. World Championship match with TLA, ruined by inadequate refereeing. Road to Redemption… oh don’t get me started on Road to Redemption, where our esteemed General Manager committed the cardinal sin and got themselves involved in the Elimination Chamber. Your telling me that her actions were not those of someone doing everything she could to ensure I didn’t win. Don’t get me wrong, it would have sucked if Jake had cashed in if the match had been allowed to go to conclusion, but as I’ve been told a million and one times… who’s to say he would have cashed in on me. Perhaps I wouldn’t have been the lesser of two evils. Kennedy Street did what she did for one reason, and one reason alone. To once again screw me over… nothing to do with what was best for Showdown or any of that crap. It was all about ensuring that she got, what SHE wanted. But you know what, it’s not always been that way.
Deadprez: Adam talking from the heart here, and it’s difficult to disagree with him.
(Adam paces the ring a little, rubbing his stubbled chin before continuing.)
Adam Lucas: See, away from the EAW bubble, I knew Kennedy Street before she arrived on these shores. Kennedy was one of the most respected women I knew, and you know what, with some she still is. I’ll openly admit, that when I saw the news, and Kennedy was announced, I was excited for what she would bring to the table, knowing what it was she stood for. But there is no question in my mind, that she had deviated from what her family name is all about. She once stood for competition and being the best. She didn’t have to resort to ‘gameplaying’, or cheap tactics… but it’s not just her is it? She is being allowed to do this, by Heidi Huxley, and in turn by Disney. I thought Disney was supposed to be a family friendly brand, but it seems not. Seems they allow corruption just the same as…
Voice: STOP… just stop.
(The camera turns to the ramp where Kennedy Street and Heidi Huxley are already on their way down. A wry grin forms on Adam’s face, not in any way surprised by the interruption. With hesitation Kennedy finds herself in the ring, Heidi joining her.)
Eve: Looks like Kennedy has had enough
Gavin Kirkland: Doesn’t she look radiant?
Deadprez: Careful Gavin, I hear she has history with members of announce teams, and it doesn’t end well.
Gavin Kirkland: What a way to go though.
(Back in the ring, Adam lifts the mic again.)
Adam Lucas: Hi Kennedy, Heidi… what a pleasant surprise.
Kennedy Street: I’m getting a little tired of going over this Adam.
Adam Lucas: Can’t say I find it the most productive use of my time, but them’s the breaks. What else am I supposed to think, when I re-watch the show and see all the extra-curricular stuff that was allowed to happen while I was facing Roberto De La Rosa, who might I add, didn’t need the family putting their oar in. And what about you and Antonne Prudence huh? Getting all cozy, as another no mark like Abel Atami tries to get a leg up from someone who’s proven themselves capable of using anyone to get what she wants. It could have been so much different, but YOU created this scenario, not me. And that’s why it is all playing out the way it is.
Kennedy Street: I have already explained my actions to you Adam, even when I had no requirement to. I could have just done what was best for Showdown, and ignore your incessant bleating, and claims of a vendetta against you, which might I add is ridiculous. I only explained myself, because of who your mentor was, and my relationship with him. I gave you my attention which let’s face it, you hadn’t done anything to deserve.
Adam Lucas: He’d…
(Kennedy puts up a hand, which makes Heidi smirk.)
Kennedy Street: I’m not finished Adam.
(Crowd boos, as Adam shakes his head.)
Kennedy Street: People succeed in this industry according to their actions, and you didn’t do your job, simple as that. You know as well as I do, being screwed over by Management isn’t anything alien to me. It’s the reason I left the company of which I was its biggest star.
Adam Lucas: In your mind perhaps.
Kennedy Street: What you should do Adam, is stop making these ridiculous allegations, and concentrate on the job you are paid to do. Maybe then, things will start falling into place, and you can become the Elitist that you ‘claim’ to be.
(The way she emphasizes ‘claim’ isn’t missed by Adam, or the capacity crowd for that matter who boo again, Kennedy shrugging them off and Heidi trying to get them to shut up. Adam paces again, like a caged lion, Kennedy enjoying the moment. Finally he stops, and stands right in front of the General Manager who doesn’t back off.)
Adam Lucas: Claim? Kennedy I am one of the best you have, and you know it. These ‘games’, they should be beneath you, and they are sure as hell beneath me. I’m done playing Kennedy, and I WILL be Answers World Champion by the time this season sends, whether that is by the King of Elite crown, or whatever other hurdles I have to cross. And you know something else, I don’t care what issue you have with me… you will NOT be able to stop the inevitable.
(The fans love this reaction, and Kennedy even smiles, keeping Adam’s attention on solely her.)
Kennedy Street: There he is… there is the Adam Lucas I knew. I like your ‘spunk’, it’s good to hear.
(Adam says something that is inaudible to the mics, whatever it is makes Kennedy laugh.)
Kennedy Street: Oh, and one last thing, you should really watch your back.
Deadprez: Adam, WATCH OUT!!!
(Adam is spun around, right into the face of Abel Atami who kicks him in the gut, doubling him over, before then lifting him up into a vicious powerbomb and planting him almost through the ring. The crowd noise is louder than before, boos and jeers raining down on Abel who simply doesn’t care, standing over his victim.)
Eve: It seems like Abel Atami has made his choice.
Gavin Kirkland: And Kennedy Street as well
Deadprez: Adam Lucas laid out at the hands of Abel Atami, you can bet this isn’t the end on that score.
(Kennedy leans in, and pats Adam on the cheek, a huge grin on her face as she leaves the ring with Heidi and Abel Atami. As she walks up the ramp, the fans giving her grief, she simply waves to them, angering them even more. Back in the ring, the camera turns to Adam, who leans on the bottom rope looking up the ramp, Kennedy seeing this on the big screen. She turns, and blows him a kiss, before leaving through the curtain, as Adam pulls himself up to his feet.)
Deadprez: Not the way Adam wanted this to pan out, but now Abel Atami is in his business.
Eve: Adam not the kind of person to shy away, you can bet he’s going to want Abel in that ring to settle the score.
Gavin Kirkland: It doesn’t matter… if he does defeat Abel, you can bet Kennedy has others. There ain’t a chance in hell Adam Lucas makes the King of the Ring finals… I’d bet my house on it.
(Adam stands in the middle of the ring, his hands on his hips, staring at the entranceway, as the scene fades.)

Kyra Phillips is standing by with Hans Grayson after his victory over Major Michael Scott Connor. Still sore and bruised up, but happy to get the win and now looks forward for what is next on Showdown.)
Kyra Phillips: It is a brand new year here on Showdown and the EAW. 2023 promises to be a lot of things, but Hans Grayson, you kicked it off with a victory tonight over an Elitist many consider to be at the breakout point of his tenure here. How does it feel?
Hans Grayson: It feels damn good. I came close in the Extreme Enigma Battle Royal at Road to Redemption but ultimately lost, still thinking that one day I will wear gold around my waist, but I am willing to pay my dues, climb up the ladder and like I told the Major who is one tough son of a bitch and I know that he will get his opportunity. I’m ready Kyra, 2023 is going to be a big year for me. I know it, I didn’t come to the EAW to fail, I came here to succeed. Anytime the Major wants a rematch, it’s his but right now I need to elevate myself further. Move up the ranking, really sink my teeth into something more that can show that I am ready.
Kyra Phillips: What did you have in mind?
Hans Grayson: The New Breed Championship. Ruler is a great champion, but I feel like I can be a better one. I want that chance and I promise that I am going to get it, I just need the opportunity and wins like this tonight is exactly that. Also….
(But before he can finish the sentence two men in suits attack Hans from behind. Kyra screams and runs out of the way….)
Kyra Phillips: HELP!
(The two men continue to stomp on Hans Grayson while he is on the floor, then we see Roberto De La Rosa walk into the screen, he picks up the microphone as the two men beating up Hans are Diego and Javier.)
Roberto De La Rosa: You know, last week I was in the Main Event against Adam Lucas and este perro got lucky. Did you think that I was just going to go quietly into the night buey and do nothing about it? Nah, see this is a New Year like you said cabron, and to be truthful, you’re a small change, tu eres nada en el mundo de La Familia. This gringo is talking about title matches? What about me? I have bigger goals than just this New Breed Championship. The Interwire, the National Elite…. The Answers World Championship. You can come here and start calling out all the mierda you want gringo, but this goes through me.
(Roberto instructs his cousins to pick him back up, they slowly do and hold him up.)
Roberto De La Rosa: This is an example, a message to the rest of the EAW and Showdown that “LA FAMILIA WILL NOT STAND FOR THIS! Buey, I’m actually trying to be nice here, carnal. It’s unfortunate that a gringo like you has to pay for this, but you know what cabron? Someone always has to.
(Roberto throws a huge forearm to Hand and another when suddenly out of nowhere, Major Michael Scott Cannon comes running out and jumps on the cousins, he starts fighting as Roberto comes from behind and starts to wallop him too, but the Major is quickly back up, he starts brawling with Roberto as Hans is trying to get back up and he sees now the triple team as the De La Rosa’s are all kicking a man while he is down.)
Deadprez: ALL HELL HAS BROKEN LOOSE IN THE BACKSTAGE AREA AND WE ARE SEEING LA FAMILIA ATTACKING MAJOR MICHAEL SCOTT CANNON AFTER HE TRIED TO HELP THE MAN HE JUST LOST TO! HANS WAS TAKING A BEATING AND NOW THIS IS COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTROL!
Eve: IT REALLY IS! BROKEN OUT INTO A DONNYBROOK! NOW WE ARE STARTING TO SEE OFFICIALS RUN IN THERE TO TRY AND STOP THE MADNESS HERE TONIGHT!
(Hans is back up, he sees a production crate, he runs, hops on it and moonsaults on top of the entire La Familia as the crowd erupts.)
Gavin Kirkland: WHAT A MOONSAULT! HANS GRAYSON HOPPED ON THAT CRATE AND FLIPPED HIMSELF OVER ON TO LA FAMILIA AND ALL FIVE MEN ARE DOWN! ROBERTO IS BACK UP QUICKLY! HE AND HANS ARE LAYING INTO EACH OTHER AS MORE OFFICIALS RUN IN TO SEPARATE THE FIVE ELITISTS! WHAT A WILD WAY TO KICK OFF THE NEW YEAR WITH SO MUCH MAYHEM!
Deadprez: THIS IS THE SECOND ATTACK WE’VE SEEN TONIGHT AND WE ARE JUST GETTING STARTED! LET’S GO TO OUR NEXT MATCH!
(As they continue to try and separate them, the camera shifts to ringside and Gina Romano is ready to call the next match.)
Gina Romano: Ladies and Gentlemen, the following contest has a twenty-minute time limit, and is scheduled FOR!
Crowd: ONE FALL!!
( “Mr. Brightside” by The Killers plays over the speakers of the place while the rebellious one makes her way to the ring with a look of confidence though not looking too happy. )
Gina Romano: INTRODUCING FIRST!! From Detroit, Michigan! Weighing in at 117 pounds. She is The Motor City Machine Gun: LEXIIIIIII!!!
Deadprez: I’m happy to see Lexi looking confident tonight, especially knowing she lost in the first round of Empress of Elite last week against Caroline.
Gavin Kirkland: Lexi has proven as of late that losing isn’t stopping her so I am sure she will be seeking nothing less than a win tonight against the returning Katherine Helle.
( ‘You’re Not Here’ by Akira Yamaoka plays next under the boos of the sold out crowd while the Blackwater Queen makes her way down the isle with a look of mischief and malice across her face as she stares at Lexi. )
Gina Romano: ANNND HER OPPONENT! From Los Angeles, California!! Weighing in at 142 pounds! She is The Hellraiser: KATHERINE HEEEEEEEEEELLEEEEEEEEEE!!!
Deadprez: Seems like even in her own backyard here in California the crowd doesn’t favor Katherine and her return!
Gavin Kirkland: I don’t think she cares that she’s home tonight, by the way she behaved this week and what she said through her promos it’s clear she only cares about herself.
Eve: Lexi will be a challenge for her, let’s see how she goes as we are just about ready to get this match started!
( Ding! Ding! Ding! )
Deadprez: And Here We Go! This match is officially underway folks and both ladies are staring at each other in the middle of the ring. Katherine, the returning Hellraiser, smirks with confidence against the rebellious one Lexi who doesn’t seem intimidated at all by the woman standing before her.
Gavin Kirkland: Katherine and Lexi now locking up in the middle of the ring, Helle forcing Lexi into a corner but Lexi spins and turns the table around which brings the official to separate the two. Katherine shoves Lexi away.
Eve: Katherine dashes forward going for a big boot but Lexi ducks the move, Helle turns going to Lexi but gets brought down with a Japanese arm drag. Quickly getting up she gets brought down again with a hip toss from Lexi! Katherine had enough she decided to roll to the outside under the boos of the crowd.
Deadprez: Lexi with a smirk while Katherine doesn’t look too happy at the start of her match while she cautiously makes her way back through the ropes. Both women circled each other now before engaging in a clinch again, a quick knee to the gut by Hell forcing Lexi to bend forward.
Gavin Kirkland: A leg sweep brings down Lexi before she gets forced into a corner to suffer a few chops from Katherine BUT Lexi turns things around and begins to throw the shoulder into Helle’s stomach and ribs quickly! The official asks Lexi to back off and she does, taking a few steps away before going back in with some chops!
Deadprez: Helle turns the tides spinning Lexi into the corner and throwing some chops of her own before getting a boot to the face by Lexi!! Helle moved away before charging back at Lexi who hops scotch over her AND TAKES HER DOWN WITH A SUNSET FLIP!! Katherine rolls to the outside but Lexi gives chase throwing an ax handle to her back and forcing her to her knees! Helle making her way to a corner she feels Lexi grabbing at her head BUT SHE DASHES FORWARD FORCING LEXI TO KISS STEEL!!
Gavin Kirkland: Lexi’s holding her face before getting whipped inside the ring by Helle who follows shortly after. CLOTHESLINE FROM BEHIND sends Lexi down to her knees! Helle backs off before charging forward going for a high knee BUT LEXI HITS THE DECK EVADING THE MOVE! She turns around and springs up with a European uppercut before whipping Katherine inside the ring! Going back in herself she ducks a clothesline attempt by Helle!
Eve: Lexi moves to face her opponent and brings her to the ground with a double-leg takedown! Throwing fists and elbows at Katherine who manages to get Lexi off her with her powerful legs! Lexi quickly back to her feet, and so is Helle who sent a boot to Lexi’s midsection before stomping at her left foot! Face full of the knee for Lexi followed WITH A HARD CLOTHESLINE!!
Deadprez: Power and intent behind that move as Katherine is looking to impose her will in this match and perhaps claim victory if all goes well for her. Helle now thinking about her offensive options decides to throw a stiff kick to the ribs of Lexi who is feeling it! Quickly holding her side as Katherine marches up to her AND BEGINS TO CHOKE HER AGAINST THE MIDDLE ROPE AND A KNEE AGAINST LEXI’S BACK! THE OFFICIAL IS COUNTING AND HELLE LET’S GO BEFORE SHE CAN GET DISQUALIFIED!
Gavin Kirkland: Grabbing Lexi by the back of the head she whips her against a corner before throwing in a few kicks. Lexi tries to fight back with a few strikes to the side of Katherine but she gets harshly sent to the opposite corner against which Lexi slams and falls face first. Lexi is then picked up by Helle moving her into a candle position over her head showing the power of Helle BUT LEXI DROPS A KNEE TO KATHERINE’S HEAD AND ANOTHER! LEXI SLIPS FROM THE GRASP OF HER OPPONENT AND BEHIND HELLE WHO TURNS ONLY TO BE MET BY AN ENZIGUIRI!!
Eve: Lexi has a chance to put in some offense on her side and perhaps have a shot at victory with a reeling Katherine who is not against the ropes SHE DROPKICKS HER OUT OF THE RING!!! Lexi quickly slides out of the ring moving in with a running knee to Helle’s face before throwing some shoot kicks to her shins BEFORE THROWING A KICK TO THE CHEST WITH A YELL TAKING DOWN KATHERINE AND THE CROWD LOVES IT!
Deadprez: Lexi is rousing up the crowd while Helle is getting up only to be brought down with yet another hard kick to her chest. SHE FOLLOWS IT WITH A QUICK DROPKICK THAT SENDS KATHERINE INTO A CORNER! Lexi rushes to the opposite corner charging in for her next assault but Helle flips her over the top rope! Lexi lands on the apron and Katherine tries to get her off it and it’s blocked by Lexi who then throws both fists at Helle’s back causing her to stumble back! Stepping through the ropes, Lexi climbs on the second AND GRABS HELLE’S HEAD BEFORE DRIVING HER DOWN WITH A DDT!!!
Gavin Kirkland: This is an opportunity for Lexi she should go for a cover but instead she opts to force Helle back to her feet and looking to apply yet another DDT but Katherine reverses and TAKES DOWN LEXI WITH A PUMPHANDLE SLAM!!!
Eve: This could be the beginning of Katherine’s offensive sequence as she goes to the ropes while Lexi is getting up AND TAKES HER DOWN WITH A DROPKICK! ( The fans cheer loudly as the Specialist Champion, Aria, steps on the stage with the title proudly held over a shoulder and holding a microphone with the other hand. She is smiling as she watches the two who just gave the crowd one hell of a fight a moment before raising the microphone to her lips. )
Aria: Hello Ladies! I’d like to congratulate you both on what I felt was a hard-fought match. But I would like to address one of you especially, Lexi.
( Lexi, who is still inside the ring is clearly listening to what the Champion has to say while a dejected Katherine Helle parts from the ring through the crowd. )
Aria: I think it goes without saying that the two of us, well, we share quite a brutal history together.
Aria: We were not kind to one another but I have to admit I have noticed the changes you’ve gone through for yourself Lexi and well, I’m impressed! You could’ve stuck up to your old ways, to who you used to be but you took command of your career and you’ve been doing so much better since then! So I have to congratulate you on that and I’m going to do one better: I’m going to reward you for it.
( The crowd is a bit confused, and so is Lexi but her attention is completely on the Champion as she is now standing up in the center of the ring. )

(‘7 rings’ by Ariana Grande hits as Veena Adams comes out, posing. The crowd boos her and clearly, it’s a loud one. Veena walks down the ramp and chooses to mock the front row neckbeards in the audience. She enters the ring, posing and waiting for her opponent.)
Gina Romano: THIS MATCH IS SCHEDULED FOR ONE FALL WITH A THIRTY MINUTE TIME LIMIT! INTRODUCING FIRST— FROM GREENWICH, CONNECTICUT, THE PRINCESS OF PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING, VEENA ADAMS!
(‘My Way of Life’ by Frank Sinatra plays as Komatsu Ogawa w/ Yoshiaki Tanaka come out to boos from the crowd. Nobody really likes him or Veena, but like Veena, he doesn’t mind. He stares into her soul as he walks down the ramp and into the ring, choosing not to pose.)
Gina Romano: AND HER OPPONENT, FROM TOKYO, JAPAN ACCOMPANIED BY YOSHIAKI TANAKA! — THE DRUNKEN HEEL KING, KOMATSU OGAWA!
(DING! DING! DING!)
Eve: And we kick off! Both competitors are skilled in some form of technical and shoot-style wrestling, with Ogawa being, visibly, the harder hitter in this match! Ogawa is looking at Veena like he knows he’s going to win, and Veena is just smiling! She knows she can’t lock up with Ogawa, but Ogawa thinks she’s going to! Veena steps in, and she rolls under Ogawa, before kicking him in the back of the knee!
Deadprez: What a way to start this off for Veena, as she simply just slams her forearm right into the side of Ogawa’s neck! That’s crazy! Veena is going wild, as she slams her forearm into another side of Ogawa’s thick neck, with Veena simply knowing that she’s outsmarted him! Ogawa shrugs this off, and tries to lift up Veena, but she jumps up, rebounds off the ropes and sends her feet right into Ogawa’s face for a dropkick! The dropkick connects!
Donovan Duke: A textbook dropkick and it was flush, she didn’t miss a beat with that!
Deadprez: Veena is playing her cards right here!
(Veena turns to Donovan and smirks, before going back on the offensive.)
Gavin Kirkland: And Ogawa staggers back! Veena knows she has to keep using her intelligence if she wants to take Ogawa out! Ogawa is pushing through, and he’s attempting a clothesline, but Veena ducks under and sends a Pele Kick to the face of Ogawa! Ogawa has been attacked pretty badly in this match, and Veena simply continues her striking onslaught! She’s striking him with several side kicks to the stomach!
Eve: And Ogawa does not have an answer for this! Veena is using her knowledge, and grabs Ogawa’s arm and proceeds to drive her knee right into his rear delt! Ogawa’s holding it in pain, and Veena turns around and sends a penalty kick right to his face! She has outclassed him from the start of this match, and it’s not looking good for the Drunken Heel King! Veena is on a madness, and Ogawa cannot stop it! Veena repeatedly kicks him in the chest and takes his breath away, before driving her knee right into Ogawa’s face and possibly dislocating his nose!
Donovan Duke: I have to admit, I didn;t see this viciousness from Veena! She right now is on another level and I think she’s showing off a little too!
(Veena again looks over and sees Donovan, smiling.)
Deadprez: This early on, and blood is rushing down Ogawa’s nose! Ogawa wipes some of it off with his singlet, but he tasted some of it! Veena is feeling like she has this match won already, and I don’t blame her! Ogawa stands up, and Veena attempts another kick, but Ogawa grabs her leg, lifts her up and slams her down head first into the mat! Ogawa is getting some offense in, and he lifts her up for a Rear Takedown, and slams her back on it again! He’s sending clubbing blows right into her left ear! Ogawa chokes Veena, but Veena uses the ropes to send Ogawa flying into the opposite turnbuckle using momentum!
Gavin Kirkland: Ogawa just took that like a champ, and Veena is shocked! She knows she has to do more in this match! Veena runs at Ogawa, but Ogawa picks her up by the neck and slams her down on the mat with force! Ogawa’s mission has been to keep her at bay, and the moment Veena gets up, BOOM! A big boot being sent right into her jaw, as she’s knocked out! Ogawa lifts her up, hooks the arm and throws her down for a suplex! He’s doing it again, but no! Veena wakes up in the nick of time, leaps off and turns Ogawa around for a shot to the throat! Ogawa is stunned by it!
Donovan Duke: Veena is on the offensive here and hasn;t slowed down! I always found her to be quite an interesting competitor and she really is showcasing that tonight!
Eve: And boom! Veena gets up and sends an uppercut right into Ogawa’s chin! Ogawa staggers back, and Veena rolls in for a nice elbow shot to Ogawa’s bleeding nose! She’s just going mad and going for it over and over again! Ogawa manages to get her into a tight bear hug, and he slams her onto a turnbuckle! Now it’s Ogawa returning the favour! He’s batterning Adams with several elbow shots of his own, each more brutal than the other! Veena just slumps into a seated position, in pain and she’s lost! Ogawa runs in and he drives his boot right into Veena’s jaw! This is insane! Veena has been taking the punishment and she’s not giving up! Ogawa picks her up, and he sends a chop flying straight into her chest!
Deadprez: That chop could be heard from a mile away, Eve! Ogawa headbutts her repeatedly, and he picks her up and just throws her in a pretty makeshift move! He’s using strength and pure instinct to beat a smart girl, and that’s probably going to work! Ogawa lifts her head up, and sends a knee flying into her jaw! Now it’s Ogawa getting his payback as Veena is slumped on the floor! Ogawa picks her up, but Veena manages to strike him in the liver!
Gavin Kirkland: And Ogawa is stunned! He did not think that she could do that, but she could! Ogawa proceeds to kneel, with Veena mocking him as she kicks his chest in over and over again, and proceeds to jam her elbows right into that man’s scalp! She’s going wild out here!
Veena Adams: (off-mic) You are nothing, Ogawa. Just a stupid little jobber who will never amount to anything in this business. Bow down to your one true queen. Do you hear that Donovan Duke!? Like you!
Donovan Duke: I more than welcome it Veena, but focus on your opponent, not me.
Eve: And it’s Veena Adams just continuing her assault! Veena looks at the crowd who boos her, and Ogawa uses thai distraction to pick her up and throw her out of the ring, sending her into some cameramen, who manage to step away! Veena is shocked, and Ogawa takes it to the ropes for a suicide dive! Veena is out of it! Ogawa picks Veena up, and he’s coming towards us? Bruh.
(Ogawa clears out the announce table, as he lays Veena on top of it.)
Deadprez: It seems like Ogawa is about to attempt a splash as he climbs on the top rope! Ogawa is looking to take it to the skies! Can he do it? We have never seen this man show any sign of agility in the time he’s been in EAW! He’s getting some cheers from people who want the lesser evil to win, and he leaps off!
Gavin Kirkland: Veena rolls out at the right moment and Ogawa is sent crashing and burning into the announce table! Veena rolls inside the ring, and she’s just goading the referee to begin the count! Ogawa is out of it, and clearly, Veena is glad that it’s the case! She does not want to deal with Ogawa right now, and I don’t blame her!

Eve: Ogawa is still motionless, this is not good.)

Deadprez: He counts to nine, and BOOM! Ogawa’s up and he’s running into the ropes! The referee didn’t see it amidst all the commotion, and Adams simply turns over and sends an elbow flying right into his face! Now it’s Adams back on the offense! She’s kicking him over and over, and leaps off the ropes for a diving crossbody! Veena is simply ground and pounding Ogawa’s head off his shoulders! This is not good! Veena sends elbows digging right into his eyes, and Ogawa is out of it!
Gavin Kirkland: Veena props him up, and sends a loud chop into his chest! Ogawa took that and he’s sent back into the ropes! Veena runs off the adjacent turnbuckEvle, and she slides her fist right into his face! Veena uses the ropes and strikes him with an Enzuigiri kick, and that pushes him to the side! She jumps over the rope and boom! She pulls his neck down the rope and sends him flying over the other rope and into the outside! Veena runs into Ogawa with a flying dropkick!
Donovan Duke: This is a sequence of beauty, as she throws Ogawa back in! Ogawa rolls inside the ring, and Veena proceeds to get him into an arm-bar! She’s keeping it in, and she’s using her thigh to bash Ogawa’s head in with every opportunity she gets! If it wasn’t clear already, she really wants to win this whole thing, no matter how much violence it takes! Ogawa pulls Veena in unexpectedly, and he just headbutts her off the floor! Ogawa turns her around and wraps his arms around her in a last-ditch rear naked choke position!
Deadprez: And it’s Veena just proceeding to gasp for air! She rakes his eye, and the referee warns her for it! A warning? She should be disqualified! Veena simply blows a few kisses, as she begins to stomp Ogawa’s head in and again and again! No matter how much dignity is gone from her, she just wants to keep Ogawa out of this match and keep it in her favor! Veena grabs him by the neck and jumps over for a makeshift maneuver to take his neck out of the fight!
Gavin Kirkland: And Ogawa seems to be trying to reach for the ropes, but Veena just stomps down on his leg again and again and again, showing no mercy in her attempt to beat Ogawa mercilessly! Ogawa is just out of it, and Veena attempts the Killer Queen’s Rhapsody again, and Ogawa is trying his best not to fade! Those muscles are tense, and the oxygen is going away!
Eve: Ogawa is fighting to stay alive! He escapes, but Veena kicks him in the head and pulls him back in! Ogawa manages to hold her off, and send a shoulder strike into her nose! Veena’s angry, and elbows him right in the ear! He’s lost his balance, and Veena sweeps him so he lands backfirst into the mat! Veena jumps up on the top rope, and she’s looking for it! Can she get it? She leaps off, and the fatal vow connects! The moonsault double foot stomp takes him out of it! Veena goes for the cover!

( We transition backstage, this episode of Saturday Night Showdown live from the SAP Center in California continues as we join Kyra Phillips who is standing beside Alex Myers! Alex hasn’t been cleared to compete in time for this week’s show, but as we know, next week they will be taking on Xander Payne in the highly-regarded King of Elite tournament! We have seen how monumental a victory in this tournament can prove for some, two of the top talents clashing on next week’s broadcast will surely be one that will deliver on every front! Kyra is attired in a beautiful figure-hugging dress, microphone in her hands. Once she is given the all clear she brings the microphone up to her lips, a soft nod given in Alex’s direction. )
Kyra Phillips: Folks, joining me at this time is none other than “The Archangel”, Alex Myers! Now Alex, unfortunately you weren’t cleared for competition on this week’s show. But as we’ve come to learn, next week you will be going one-on-one against Xander Payne, undoubtedly one of the biggest and toughest names in this year’s tournament. The King of Elite has a rich, rich history in the professional wrestling business. In recent years, we’ve seen names like Kassidy Heart and Andre Walker win and go on to do big, big things! How’re you feeling ahead of the match-up and what does Alex Myers have in store for us as we’re at the beginning of this new year?
Alex Myers: I’m feeling quite good, Kyra, thank you for asking. You’re absolutely right about the mammoth task ahead of me. Xander will be wanting to win and on his day, he has the skills and the mentality to put whoever he wishes away in the ring. But so do I. You mentioned Kassidy Heart and she bucked a trend when she won the King of Elite tournament. I want to do the same thing, I want to become the first non-binary winner to get a hold of the crown. These last twelve months have been really memorable for me, I won the New Breed Championship and while that was an amazing experience for me, it’s time to aim higher, do better. The King of Elite tournament poses a really good opportunity to do that. Given that I wasn’t even cleared for this show, I’m not in amazing shape right now. But I have heart and I have the discipline and resilience that’ll be needed to step into the ring against Xander Payne and come out on top, even if he may be the favorite heading into next week’s match.
Alex Myers: I want to change the culture of this sport, this game. I’ve been called a lot of names in my life but I’m proud to be who I am and I’m proud to be non-binary. There’s a lot of bigoted people out there, but I don’t want to do well to spite them. I want to show people that are like me, or who may know someone like me, that anything is possible. Regardless of whatever gender you go by, sexuality you are, race, religion. Not only do I want to win King of Elite, I want to go after a World Championship, too. I’m appreciative of everything I’ve worked to get so far but that’s the reason we all get into this sport, Kyra. To sit on the mountain top, to be known as the one, to headline shows and make a genuine, real impact. That’s what I want for me, and I am going to put in the work and the time to get that far. So that I can be a shining example to everybody out there who may not fit the mold. Maybe not here, maybe I’ll fall in the King of Elite tournament. But I won’t stop fighting, they can’t keep me down, I won’t quit and rest assured me winning a World Championship isn’t a possibility, but an inevitability for me.
Alex Myers: What happened at No Regards, what happened when Heidi Huxley conspired to have Hurricane Hawk removed from this company? It still hangs over me, it still plays in my mind like a bad dream. To know that I played a part in Kennedy Street’s appointment and all that has happened since then. The tricks, the favouritism, the discrimination. It sucks. I need to do something to make this right. I need to do something so that Saturday Night Showdown can become the desireable, must-see warhorse that it has been for so long in Elite Answers Wrestling. I’ve been blessed with a lot of things in my life, most recently a wonderful girlfriend who supports me in my decisions. I want to do it for her, I want to do it for every fan who turns up and supports this company and believes in me.
Kyra Phillips: What do you make of Xander Payne as an opponent coming into this King of Elite tournament? As you’ve touched upon before, you’re perhaps considered an underdog for this match-up given what he has achieved in his storied career. Of course, should you advance against him you’ll be meeting Adam Lucas at a later date following his victory over Roberto de la Rosa on last week’s broadcast. Do you fancy your chances of winning Showdown’s stacked block and perhaps representing the brand at King of Elite?
Alex Myers: I think that anybody can come out on top with enough hard work and dedication. I’m not claiming to be a favorite, I’m realistic about my chances. But few can match my heart for this business and even fewer will put their body through what my body has been through in order to win. Xander Payne is a big, big test for me, if I somehow manage to beat him it’ll undoubtedly be one of the biggest wins of my entire career. He has achieved so much, a former World Heavyweight champion after all. It goes without saying he’s a staple of this company and the epitome of what it means to be a consistent main event player. He has done it all, but I always back myself and always back my chances. I know there’s still potential within me and there’s still many rungs of the ladder to ascend in my career. This is only the beginning for Alex Myers.
( Kyra brings the microphone to herself and is about to ask another question. Abruptly, the locker-room door opens and with it, Alex’s face brightens up. Sauntering into the shot is the Specialists champion herself, ARIA! We saw earlier that ARIA and Lexi got into a discussion which ended with ARIA giving Lexi a shot at her newly-won belt! ARIA isn’t hesitant to plant a kiss on Alex’s cheek. Alex in response blushes, lacing an arm around ARIA’s side and pulling her close into a hug. Kyra is all-smiles, it’s a touching moment! )
ARIA: Before I steal them away from you, I just have to say. I am so proud of Alex! You know, we’re still in the honeymoon period of our relationship. But I feel so close to them and that I can confide in them and I just know, no matter whoever is put in front of them, that they can conquer anything that they put their mind to! That’s why I’m rooting for them to win the King of Elite tournament and become the archangel that Elite Answers Wrestling truly needs! Alex, I know that you can beat Xander Payne. Eve: Ryan Joseph Wilson just made the statement he wanted to make here tonight, and that’s all that matters. He already stated that following his tremendous performance at Road to Redemption, he’s done playing around, and it shows. Congratulations to Ryan Wilson. And take nothing away from Harley Lewis either, though. This man came into this battle like a warrior, and he gave it his absolute all, but it’s Ryan Wilson who evidently wanted it more. Once again, congratulations to Ryan Joseph Wilson.
(As Harley Lewis starts coming to consciousness, Xander Payne is seen telling him something only both of them can hear, which leaves Harley Lewis with nothing but a smirk on his face although he just came up short after a hard battle. Following that, Ryan Joseph Wilson and Xander Payne exit the ring, as they start making their way to the back.)
Gavin Kirkland: Umm… I actually don’t know what happened, and I don’t know what it means for the future, but I guess we will have to wait and find out throughout the upcoming few weeks. We’ll see you after this short commercial break!

Ryan Joseph Wilson and Xander Payne stand in the back after Ryan’s huge win and advancement to the next round in the King of Elite. Ryan wipes his sweaty face with a towel as Xander looks forward to his first round match next week.)
Xander Payne: Great job, you did well out there tonight, it was close, BUT you do know that one of us is going to be pulling double duty at King of Elite, and it will most likely be me.
Ryan Wilson: Most likely be you? I would like to beg and differ. I’m on a whole another level, if anyone is going to be pulling double duty, its going to be me my friend, let’s not forget what happened inside the Elimination Chamber at Road to Redemption.
(Xander doesn’t look amused.)
Xander Payne: So, we are bring that up now? Okay, I see how it is. We already have a match with the Ice Aces at King of Elite thanks to me, I did it out of the kindness of my own heart so that you wouldn’t feel left out and still had something to fight for at the Marquee event, since you won’t be in the finals of the King of Elite tournament.
Ryan Wilson: Is that so?
Xander Payne: That is so.
Ryan Wilson: Well, let me promise that I will be in great shape and condition heading into our tag team match and my finals win.
(They both look at each other and start laughing. Putting their arms over one another and walking out. Just then Ms. Extreme us seen getting out of her dressing room, she is met by Jake Smith, her tag team partner in tonight’s match. He has a wad of papers in his hands.)
Jake Smith: Hi partner!
Ms. Extreme: Let us get something straight right now, what happened at Road to Redemption was not because of you, it wasn’t to give you the Answers World Championship. In my opinion you’re still a BLEEP up and after all the things you have said about me, I have nothing but content for you. Anyway, tonight we have a common enemy, just keep your end of the bargain.
(As she is about to walk off toward the ring, Jake stops her.)
Jake Smith: Well… real quickly.
Ms. Extreme: What do you want?
Jake Smith: Well, I have these here for you.
(He hands her a stack of papers; she looks at them and it is adoption paperwork. Ms. Extreme shakes her head and rolls her eyes.)
Ms. Extreme: Really?
Jake Smith: Well…. About those adoption papers, I thought that…. You should have them. Call it a peace offering. I want to make amends here, when I die I want a clean conscience and as a World Champion now, I want to make sure that I lead by example so that everyone else can see that I am a World Champion people can take after. By starting out with a clean slate between you and I. Figuring you should have those papers and we can move on, maybe even become friends.
(Ms. Extreme smiles, then grabs the paperwork and tears it up, throwing it in his face.)
Ms. Extreme: You do know that those are not real, Jake. I don’t have time for this. I did you a favor, without me you would have never become the World Champion, just be glad that you didn’t screw it up, so you are welcome. Now please shut up and let’s go beat the hell out of Kassidy and Impact.
Jake Smith: Right! I mean…. Yes! We need to beat them tonight! Real quick though, lets take a selfie together, social media has been a buzz about this match, and this will really get a lot of likes and….)
(Ms. Extreme throws whatever paperwork that was in her hands over the shoulders and over on to the floor. She heads out to the ring for the next match and Jake just stands there for a moment before he smiles, looking around to make sure no one else is watching.)

Deadprez: Here comes a very dangerous duo heading to ring for tag team action. Both Kassidy and Impact are in very high profile matches coming up at King of Elite and both are looking to get momentum in their favor here tonight.
Eve: You got that right. Opponents face off in tag team action tonight. At King of Elite, Kassidy Heart takes on Ms. Extreme in Ms. Extreme’s first FPV match since Pain for Pride seven months ago. Kassidy wants to make Ms. Extreme’s comeback as short as possible.
Gavin Kirkland: We also have Impact challenging Jake Smith for the Answers World Championship. Impact is looking to break his own record and turn himself into #11Reignz as well as stop Jake’s title reign right in its tracks. That’s in four weeks. Now let’s hear the introductions of the opposition.
(Impact and Kass enter the ring and take their corner as they both glare towards the entrance ramp as Impact’s music fades off. Seconds later ‘They Call Me a God’ by NEFFEX starts playing as Ms. Extreme enters the arena to cheers from the crowd)
Gina Romano: Introducing their opponents! First! From Calabasas, California! Weighing 140 pounds! Here is “THE PROBLEM CHILD” MS. EXTREME!
Gavin Kirkland: Here comes the rebel of the Ava family. Camille has been out since Pain for Pride and she made her return at Road to Redemption last month and immediately started a brawl with Kassidy Heart.
Deadprez: They had another fight last week which led to the challenge and the acceptance of a match at King of Elite. That match is going to be huge.
Eve: It certainly will, but we also know that she has no respect or love for Disney or the Execs that are helping around the company. She’s going to raise some havoc for them.
(Ms. Extreme stops at the edge of the entrance ramp as she waits for her tag team partner and her entrance music goes off. After a second of silence,’Passion’ by AWOLNATION starts playing as cheers erupt from the crowd as the Answers World Champion enters the arena before immediately heading to the ring. )
Gina Romano: Introducing her tag team partner! From Atherton, California! Weighing in at 210 pounds! Here is the EAW ANSWERS WORLD CHAMPION! “THE FACE OF SHOWDOWN” JAKE SMITH!
Eve: Here comes the homestate hero! Jake Smith from Atherton, which is about 30 minutes away from San Jose and listen to the ovation from this crowd for the Answers World Champion.
Gavin Kirkland: The fans absolutely love Jake Smith and the work he has put in to win his first World Championship. He has reached the one month mark as champion and he already has a very tough test ahead of him at King of Elite.
Deadprez: Impact gets his rematch at King of Elite and the last thing Jake wants to do is lose his first World Championship as soon as he won it. Tonight is tag team action and Jake is hoping to get a one-up on his challenger. This match is about to get started right now.
(Jake reaches the bottom of the entrance ramp and both him and Extreme slide into the ring as Jake’s music fades off. The referee immediately has to separate the two teams and force them back into their neutral corners before calling for the bell.)

Deadprez: Here we go! Our tag team main event is underway. I wonder who is going to start this match, BUT WE DON’T HAVE TO WAIT BECAUSE MS. EXTREME JUST RAN PAST THE REFEREE AND TAKES DOWN KASSIDY HEART! LOOKS LIKE THE LADIES WILL BE STARTING THIS MATCH!
Gavin Kirkland: DOUBLE LEG TAKEDOWN BY CAMILLE! Ms. Extreme is just throwing fist after fist to Kassidy, who is blocking as best as she can. This is a continuation from last week’s brawl. Ms. Extreme is here to make a statement and she is going to continue that mission tonight.
Deadprez: The referee is doing whatever they can to get Camille to open up that closed fist, BUT MS. EXTREME ISN’T ACKNOWLEDGING THE REFEREE!
Referee: (off-mic) Come on, Ms. Extreme! OPEN THE FIST! OPEN THE FIST NOW! ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! FIV–
Eve: Ms. Extreme finally opens the fist on four or she would have been disqualified on five. Part of me thinks she doesn’t care right now. She just wants to hurt Kassidy Heart before their match at King of Elite.
Gavin Kirkland: Camille has a handful of Kassidy’s hair AND SHE JUST FLINGS KASSIDY HALFWAY ACROSS THE RING BY THE HAIR! I THINK I SAW SOME DARK HAIR FLYING IN THE AIR AFTER THAT!
Deadprez: Kass in trouble early on as Extreme brings her back to her feet and whips her to the ropes. Kass rebounds as Extreme puts her head down AND KASS KICKS HER RIGHT INTO THE FACE! WHAT A SHOT!
Eve: Extreme flung back a little before Kass comes back AND CLOTHESLINES EXTREME RIGHT UNDER THE CHIN AND EXTREME GOES DOWN! Now Kass pulls Extreme up by the air AND NOW KASS USES THE HAIR FOR LEVERAGE AND TOSSES CAMILLE ACROSS THE RING!
Gavin Kirkland: Turnabout is fair play I guess and now it’s Ms. Extreme who is in trouble. Kass brings Extreme to her feet and whips her into her team’s corner as she goes to tag in Impact!

Eve: Here comes Impact! Impact with a boot to the gut and now Kass and Impact stand beside Ms. Extreme and she’s taken down with the double suplex. Great teamwork by Impact and Kass.
Deadprez: Ms. Extreme slowly makes it back to her feet and IMPACT CHOPS HER ACROSS THE CHEST! HOLY WOW! DID YOU HEAR THAT SHOT? Camille holds her chest in pain as she gets chopped once again. She’s now leaning in the corner.
Gavin Kirkland: Now Impact tries to fire off another chop, BUT EXTREME BLOCKS IT! Ms. Extreme with a right hand that staggers Impact. Impact comes back and he is met with a boot to the face.
Eve: Ms. Extreme now on the second rope as Impact turns around AND SHE JUMPS AND CATCHES IMPACT BY THE HEAD AND TAKES HIM DOWN WITH A BEAUTIFUL HEADSCISSORS! Impact is slowly getting back to his feet AND CAMILLE WITH A QUICK ROLLUP!

Deadprez: Impact kicks out at two and Camille about stole the match very quickly right there. Both competitors are back to their feet and Camille with a right hand catching Impact in the jaw.
Gavin Kirkland: The referee once again tells Ms. Extreme to open up that fist as she grabs Impact and whips him into her team’s corner and she tags in the Answers World Champion.

Deadprez: Here comes Jake Smith! Jake with a kick to the gut and he takes Impact down with a quick neckbreaker! Impact down and Jake is just delivering the boots to the former Answers World Champion.
Eve: He brings Impact back to his feet and whips him into the ropes. Impact with the rebound AND JAKE WITH THE KITCHEN SINK THAT TAKES IMPACT UP AND OVER TO THE MAT! Now Jake hits the ropes AND HITS A NICE LEG DROP!
Gavin Kirkland: Impact is holding his throat after that leg drop. Jake isn’t wasting a second as he pulls Impact back up to his feet, kicks him in the gut again, and takes him back down with a double armed suplex.
Deadprez: Jake grabs Impact’s legs and Extreme is wanting Jake to drag Impact to the corner and tag her in, but Jake isn’t doing it right now.
Ms. Extreme: (off-mic) COME ON, JAKE! TAG ME IN!
Jake Smith: (off-mic) NOT YET! I GOT THIS!
Eve: You can tell Camille didn’t like that one bit, but she’s letting it go for the time being. Now Jake grabs Impact’s other leg and drags him to the corner and he falls back and SLINGSHOTS IMPACT FACE FIRST INTO THE TOP TURNBUCKLE!
Deadprez: Jake shoves Impact back first into the corner and Jake climbs up to the second rope AND JUST STARTS PUNCHING IMPACT IN THE HEAD! HERE COMES THE PROVERBIAL TEN PUNCHES!

Gavin Kirkland: LOOK! IMPACT GRABS JAKE’S LEGS BEFORE TAKING A FEW STEPS AND SENDING JAKE FACE FIRST INTO THE TOP TURNBUCKLE! Jake stumbles backwards right into Impact who lifts Jake up AND DROPS HIM WITH A BACK SUPLEX!
Eve: The back of Jake’s head landed hard against the mat as Impact gets back to his feet. Impact brings Jake back up and whips him into his corner hard AND JAKE SNAPS BACK AGAINST THE CORNER BEFORE FALLING TO THE MAT! Impact is satisfied with what he did as he tags in Kassidy Heart.

Eve: Maybe he thinks he has something to prove now that he’s the Answers World Champion. If he has any sort of chip on his shoulder, he needs to knock it off ASAP or he is going to be in big trouble.
Deadprez: He’s already in trouble right now as Kassidy brings Jake back to his feet and whips him to the ropes. Jake with the rebound and Kassidy goes for an arm drag, BUT JAKE LANDS ON HIS FEET! Jake runs to the opposite side ropes–
Gavin Kirkland: IMPACT JUST PULLED THE TOP ROPE DOWN AND JAKE SMITH GOES TUMBLING OUT OF THE RING AND TO THE FLOOR! JAKE MIGHT HAVE LANDED ON HIS HEAD WHEN HE LANDED!
Eve: Jake landed hard out on the floor, but he’s slowly making it back to his feet. Unfortunately, Kassidy sees it as well and she is gearing up for another move. She hits the ropes and runs at full speed AND DIVES THROUGH THE ROPES–
Gavin Kirkland: KASSIDY JUST TOOK JAKE DOWN WITH A BEAUTIFUL SUICIDE DIVE SENDING JAKE RIGHT BACK TO THE ARENA FLOOR! Jake is in huge trouble right now here on the outside.
Deadprez: HERE COMES MS. EXTREME! She is heading over to the chaos to help her partner, BUT THE REFEREE IS STOPPING HER! THE REFEREE IS TRYING TO GET CAMILLE BACK TO HER CORNER!
Eve: But that also means Impact is free to do what he can and he is about to. Impact picks Jake up and puts him on his shoulder like a sack of potatoes AND HE JUST DROPS JAKE FACE FIRST ON THE EDGE OF THE RING!
Deadprez: Jake just fell limp to the arena floor as Impact picks him up and rolls him back into the ring and Kassidy quickly follows suit before she hooks the leg for the cover. KASSIDY IS GOING TO STEAL IT HERE!

Gavin Kirkland: JAKE KICKS OUT! JAKE GOT THE SHOULDER UP AND KASSIDY IS A LITTLE SHOCKED ABOUT THAT! Then again, she really doesn’t care as she is now gnawing at Jake’s forehead. KASS IS BITING JAKE AND THE REFEREE IS STARTING THE COUNT!
Referee: (off-mic) STOP THE BITING! STOP IT NOW! ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR!
Eve: Kassidy stops the biting at four. The ladies are certainly pushing their limits in this match. Speaking of ladies, Ms. Extreme is like a caged animal right now. She wants the tag in the worst way now that Kassidy is back in the ring.
Gavin Kirkland: Kassidy has such an evil grin on her face right now as she pulls Jake closer to his corner as Camille tries for the tag. KASSIDY IS TAUNTING MS. EXTREME! She’s holding Jake’s hand out for a “tag” and he is just out of reach.
Deadprez: Kass is just adding insult to injury right now. As she brings Jake back to his feet. NOW IT’S TIME FOR BOXING PRACTICE! Kass is throwing jabs and uppercuts all over the body of Jake Smith and Jake is on spaghetti legs at the moment.
Eve: Kassidy throws another uppercut to Jake’s jaw and he just gets knocked right into the ropes. He needs to thank the ropes because if he didn’t fall into them, he would have hit the floor. Kassidy pulls Jake from the ropes and wraps her arms around his waist.
Gavin Kirkland: Kassidy goes for the German Suplex AND JAKE FLIPPED BACK AND LANDED ON HIS FEET! WHAT A COUNTER! Kass gets back to her feet and runs to clothesline Jake–
Deadprez: BUT JAKE JUST PICKS KASSIDY UP AND COUNTERS WITH A POWERFUL SPINEBUSTER! KASS WAS JUST DRIVEN INTO THE MAT AND HER HEAD SNAPPED BACK AFTER THAT MOVE! Kass isn’t moving and Jake is now crawling to take in Ms. Extreme.
Gavin Kirkland: Camille is reaching out as far as she can because she wants back in this match BADLY! Slowly but surely, Jake is making his way to his corner. But he has taken a lot of damage in this match.
Deadprez: Jake is about a foot away from making the tag, BUT KASS IS BACK UP TO HER FEET AND SHE GRABS JAKE’S LEG AND STOPS HIS PROGRESS! Jake is back to his feet as Kass throws his leg down. Kass tries for a palm strike, BUT JAKE AVOIDS THE STRIKE!
Eve: Jake throws the arm away and sends Kass off kilter but she quickly turns back AND SHE GETS CAUGHT WITH A ROUNDHOUSE KICK TO THE FACE! KASS IS DOWN AND JAKE FALLS TO HIS KNEES!
Gavin Kirkland: He is so close to tagging in Ms. Extreme back into this match. She is itching for the tag and Jake is almost there. Can. He. Make. It?

Deadprez: MS. EXTREME GOT THE TAG! SHE GOT THE TAG FROM JAKE! Camille hops over the top rope and heads right to Kassidy. Kass is back to her feet, but Camille hooks Kass’ arms AND DROPS HER WITH A TIGER SUPLEX!
Eve: Kass dropped hard again on the back of her head. Camille has a handful of Kass’ hair and turns Kass into the back to back position. Camille still has a handful of hair AND SHE LIFTS KASS ON HER BACK!!
Deadprez: CAMILLE JUST PULLED KASSIDY’S HAIR AND TURNED IT INTO A GORY SPECIAL! It’s a creative move, but it is illegal and the referee is right there to force Extreme to break the hold.
Referee: (off-mic) Let go of the hair, Ms. Extreme. LET THE HAIR GO NOW! ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! FIV–
Gavin Kirkland: Extreme let go of the hair alright. She just flung Kassidy back and she goes face first to the mat. The referee is admonishing Ms. Extreme because she has been pushing the limits in this match.
Eve: Ms.Extreme has always had the reputation of pushing the rules to their limits throughout her career and that has what has made Ms. Extreme very successful and very respected in EAW. Camille now pulls Kassidy back to her feet and locks her head.
Deadprez: Camille is running to the ropes looking for the springboard bulldog, BUT KASS MANAGES TO GET FREE OF THE BULLDOG ATTEMPT AND ROLLS UP MS. EXTREME FROM BEHIND WITH A SCHOOLBOY!

Deadprez: Extreme tightening up Kassidy’s calves before she kicks Kassidy in the gut and grabs Kass by the hair and into a side headlock. Extreme runs and jumps to the top rope AND SHE PLANTS KASS WITH THE SPRINGBOARD BULLDOG!
Eve: Kass is back to her feet and once again Extreme grabs a handful of hair and locks Kassidy’s head AND PLANTS HER WITH THE TWIST OF FATE! KASS IS DOWN AND EXTREME DRAGS HER TO THE CORNER!
Gavin Kirkland: Ms. Extreme climbs up to the top rope and gets her footing. Kassidy still hasn’t moved AND EXTREME JUMPS FROM THE TOP ROPE! SHOOTING STAR SENTON ON THE WAY–
Deadprez: KASS MOVED OUT OF THE WAY! KASS ROLLED AWAY AT THE LAST SECOND AND EXTREME’S BACK CRASHES AGAINST THE MAT! THAT WAS NOT A GOOD LANDING! Now Kassidy sees a golden opportunity to finish off Ms. Extreme by going out to the apron.
Eve: Extreme has rolled over onto her knees and she is in the position that Kassidy wants and KASSIDY SOMERSAULTS OVER THE TOP ROPE AND SHE JUST DROVE HER BOOT INTO CAMILLE’S SKULL! PAINFULLY EVER AFTER! SHE SOMERSAULTED INTO THE CURB STOMP AND MS. EXTREME IS OUT!
Gavin Kirkland: What a creative way for Kass to hit the Painfully Ever After. Now Kass rolls Extreme over and goes for the cover! Will this be enough right here?

Eve: Jake tags himself in and Kass is still on her knees trying to recover from the elbow drop. Jake saw that and he runs full speed to Kass AND HE JUST BLASTS HER WITH THE SO LONG AND GOOD NIGHT! WHAT A KNEE STRIKE BY JAKE, BUT THE FORCE OF THE KNEE STRIKE SENDS KASSIDY TUMBLING RIGHT INTO HER OWN CORNER AND THAT GIVES IMPACT A CHANCE TO TAG HIMSELF INTO THE MATCH!

Deadprez: That’s exactly what he does. Impact is back in the match and Jake is telling him to bring it on. Impact is happy to oblige AND NOW CHAMPION AND CHALLENGER ARE THROWING DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING!
Gavin Kirkland: They have so much building up between them right now with Jake having what Impact wants and Impact wants to find himself back as World Champion that he has been on ten occasions. At King of Elite, we will find out if Impact becomes an eleven time World Champion or if Jake’s reign will continue on in 2023.
Eve: Impact is starting to get the upper hand on Jake and he is backing Jake into the ropes. Jake is leaning against the ropes as Impact backs up a little AND GOES FOR A CLOTHESLINE BUT JAKE DUCKS IT AND FLIPS BACKWARDS OUT ONTO THE APRON!
Gavin Kirkland: Impact goes for another forearm, BUT JAKE BLOCKS IT AND COUNTERS WITH ONE OF HIS OWN! Impact staggered back and Jake jumps to the top rope and springboards. JAKE LOOKING FOR A DOUBLE KNEE FACEBREAKER–
Deadprez: IMPACT HOLDS HIM UP AND NOW HE GETS JAKE IN POSITION AND IMPACT JUST DROPS HIM WITH A SITOUT POWERBOMB! WHAT A COUNTER FROM IMPACT! Impact gets back up and pulls Jake into the center of the ring.
Eve: Impact runs over to the ropes and jumps to the middle rope before flipping back AND CONNECTING WITH THE LIONSAULT! “FLIGHT SIGHTS” BY THE HALL OF FAMER AND HE GOT ALL OF IT! JAKE CAUGHT THAT IN THE BREADBASKET AND IMPACT HOOKS THE LEG!

Deadprez: JAKE KICKS OUT!! OHH THAT WAS SO CLOSE! The referee was coming down for the three count, but Jake powered up and powered out. Such heart and tenacity being shown by the Answers World Champion. He is once again showing why he has earned his spot as the champion.
Gavin Kirkland: If there is any doubt about the capabilities of Jake as World Champion, watch this match right here. He has been beaten up in this match and he is still fighting. But right now Impact is up and he is waiting for Jake to make it back to his feet.
Eve: It’s slow, but he is getting back to his feet. Jake is almost up but Impact grabs him and applies a full nelson. Impact goes for the full nelson facebuster in this position and he calls it the “Hail Mary”. If Impact hits the “Hail Mary”, you can consider this the touchdown and victory for his team.
Deadprez: Impact has him in position as he lifts him up for the “Hail Mary”, BUT JAKE MANAGES TO JUMP UP AND WRAP HIS LEGS AROUND IMPACT’S WAIST BEFORE ROLLING FORWARD! ROLL UP BY JAKE SMITH AND THE FULL NELSON IS STILL APPLIED!

Gavin Kirkland: IMPACT ROLLS HIS SHOULDER UP AND BREAKS THE COUNT! That was very close. Impact had to let the full nelson go or get beat with a roll up. You can see what choice he made.
Eve: Jake is still woozy, but he is back to his feet. Impact is also back to his feet and as soon as he is up, HE IS MET WITH A SUPERKICK FROM JAKE SMITH! RIGHT IN THE JAW! IMPACT KNOCKED RIGHT INTO THE ROPES! Jake goes over and pulls Impact from the ropes and locks him in a front facelock.
Gavin Kirkland: JAKE IS LOOKING FOR THAT SWINGING NECKBREAKER HE CALLS BROKEN WINGS, BUT IMPACT IS ABLE TO SPIN OUT OF THE MOVE! IMPACT THROWS A RIGHT HAND AND SHOVES JAKE TO THE ROPES! Jake hits the ropes and rebounds
Deadprez: Impact went for that spinning wheel kick, BUT JAKE CAUGHT ONE OF IMPACT’S LEGS! IMPACT HOPPING AROUND ON ONE LEG BEFORE HE CATCHES HIMSELF LONG ENOUGH TO COUNTER THE COUNTER INTO AN ENZUIGIRI! JAKE CAUGHT RIGHT IN THE SIDE OF THE HEAD!
Gavin Kirkland: JAKE WAS KNOCKED FOR A LOOP AFTER THAT ENZUIGIRI! THAT GIVES IMPACT ENOUGH TIME TO GET HIS RIGHT FIST READY FOR THE FIST OF FURY! If Impact hits that right hook, it’s OVER! Jake turns around AND IMPACT THROWS THE RIGHT HOOK–
Eve: IMPACT WENT FOR THE FIST OF FURY BUT JAKE DUCKED IT AT THE LAST SECOND! IMPACT WENT OFF BALANCE FOR A SECOND, BUT HE QUICKLY TURNS AROUND–
Deadprez: STARMAKER! IMPACT TURNED RIGHT INTO THE JUMPING CUTTER FROM JAKE SMITH! IMPACT ISN’T MOVING AS JAKE ROLLS IMPACT OVER INTO THE COVER! THE MATCH WILL NO DOUBT BE OVER HERE! WILL JAKE GET ANOTHER PINFALL VICTORY OVER IMPACT?

Gavin Kirkland: KASSIDY HEART JUST BROKE UP THE COUNT RIGHT BEFORE THE REF COUNTED THREE! KASS WITH A CLUBBING SHOT TO JAKE’S BACK AND NOW KASS HAS A HANDFUL OF JAKE’S LOREAL SPONSORED HAIR AND PULLS HIM OFF IMPACT!
Eve: HOLD ON! HERE COMES MS. EXTREME! CAMILLE WITH A LOU THESZ PRESS ON KASSIDY AND KASS GOES DOWN! LOOK AT THE FISTS BEING THROWN BY BOTH LADIES AS THEY BRAWL IN THE RING!
Deadprez: Now Impact has made it back to his feet AND JAKE GOES FOR A CLOTHESLINE, BUT IMPACT DUCKS IT! DOUBLE LEG TAKEDOWN BY IMPACT AND NOW THE GENTLEMEN ARE BRAWLING IN THE RING RIGHT NOW!
Gavin Kirkland: We had a feeling that this match would break down into something like this. It wasn’t a matter of if but when and here we go. Jake and Impact are fighting while Kass and Camille are duking it out.
Deadprez: The referee is having so much trouble trying to get this match back on track. They try to break up the ladies and then the gentlemen, BUT THEY DO NOT WANT TO LISTEN! Give it up, ref. The hatred they have for each other overpowers the desire to win this match.
Eve: The referee is looking very annoyed and I think they are just about done with this whole match. WAIT! THE REFEREE IS LOOKING AT THE TIMEKEEPER!
Referee: (off-mic) THAT’S IT! RING THE BELL!!
(DING! DING! DING!)
(The bell has rung and the crowd is booing at the referee for stopping the match. The ref runs over to Gina Romano, who is standing by the ring, and tells her the final decision before going back and trying to break up the fight.)
Gina Romano: Ladies and gentlemen, the referee has just informed me that this match is officially being ruled… A NO CONTEST!
(The crowd boos even louder after Gina’s announcement because they wanted to see this great match go on longer and have a definitive winner.)
Deadprez: The crowd did not like that one bit and I can’t blame them. Four of the best competitors on Showdown having a heck of a match that was cut short due to loss of control and not that type of loss of control that Gavin experienced in the past.
Gavin Kirkland: OH COME ON! That was unnecessary. I was enjoying this match because we almost saw Jake Smith get another pinfall victory over Impact, but it was broken up by Kassidy Heart and it all went downhill from there.
(More referees have now come from the back and are helping try to separate the four.)
Eve: We knew that these four wanted to get at each other in the very worst way, so we had a feeling that the match was going to end like this or a disqualification because the ref was just having a hard time keeping these four civil long enough for the match.
Deadprez: Speaking of having a hard time, these referees can’t keep Kass away from Camille or Impact away from Jake. These four are just throwing fists and brawling all over the ring. They aren’t breaking up or backing up. They want to hurt each other no matter what.
Gavin Kirkland: We either need more people to help break them up or we need stronger referees. Whatever the case, this fight isn’t breaking up anytime soon because we have Camille just throwing right hands to the skull of Kassidy.
Eve: We also have Impact finally taking advantage of the situation and throwing fists to a blocking Jake Smith. One of those punches caught Jake right in the face. Jake could have a black eye when he wakes up tomorrow.
(Now members of the security team have come out to help the referees in the hopes of breaking up all the fighting.)
Deadprez: Somebody must have heard Gavin because here comes security. They have slid in the ring and they are helping the referees break up this melee. LOOK AT KASSIDY! Referees are pulling her left. Security is pulling Camille right and KASSIDY HAS A HANDFUL OF CAMILLE’S HAIR!
Gavin Kirkland: That would just make Ms. Extreme even angrier if she has to go to King of Elite with a bald spot. These two ladies absolutely hate each other and the crowd is still booing the refs and security for breaking everything up.
Crowd: LET THEM FIGHT! LET THEM FIGHT! LET THEM FIGHT!
Deadprez: The crowd wants to continue to see them fight some more. They are all scratching and clawing trying to get at their respective opponents. Things are just starting to heat up between these four and it will only get more intense in the weeks leading up to King of Elite. Unfortunately, we are almost out of time.
