Fight Grid: Huge Territorial Invasion Announcement!

(Fight Grid intro plays.)

(The scene fades into Molly Waters, who is sitting behind a news desk. She is in a balcony suite overlooking the state-of-the-art EAW Newsroom at the EAW Headquarters in New Jersey. Behind her, in this room, is a vast circular setup with monitors all over the place. Media employees can be seen sitting at their computers working diligently, as well as walking about the floors. The Fight Grid logo can be seen on a flatscreen closest to Molly in the background. She has a massive smile on her face as she is dolled up for the camera. With Territorial Invasion around the corner, who wouldn’t be excited?)

Molly Waters: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to this installment of Fight Grid! We are two weeks from the most anticipated Territorial Invasion in the history of Elite Answers Wrestling! I am your correspondent, Molly Waters! However, I am not alone.

(The camera pulls back a bit as Molly Waters turns to her left and we see the Vice-President of the Board HRDO and Showdown General Manager Jenny Punk. Both have smiles on their faces for what could be a ground-breaking announcement.)

Molly Waters: two wonderful guests welcome me. The excellent General Manager of Saturday Night Showdown and first-ever EAW Vixens Champion, Jenny Punk! How are things going, Jenny?

Jenny Punk: It’s great to be here. Can’t speak for the other brands, on Showdown, we have been hard at work to make sure that we are a force to be reckoned with at Territorial Invasion. We’re not taking any shit from anyone, and I expect that to translate in about two weeks.

Molly Waters: Jenny Punk is not alone. Along with her, we have a man who doesn’t need much of an introduction. He is the Vice-President of EAW! HRDO, it’s good to see you!

HRDO: Glad to be here, Molly. It’s always an exciting time of year. We see Elitists from the company appearing on different brands and trying to establish their brand as the superior one. It doesn’t matter if you’re Team Dynasty, Team Showdown or Team Voltage, it’s going to be an event to remember.

Molly Waters: One of the most anticipated matches on the card happens to be the War Games Match. However, there are a ton of matches that can steal the show. From the Universal Women’s Championship to the New Breed Championship, there’s a lot of matches that could end up MOTY worthy. One of the matches on the card that’s quickly building in anticipation happens to be the Divide and Conquer Match. Very little information about the match is out in the open, but the two of you are here to change that?

Jenny Punk and HRDO: :eyes:

Jenny Punk: For the past couple of weeks, we’ve seen men and women get inserted into the match. From Showdown’s side, Ryan Wilson, Lucas Johnson, and Io Ishimori have qualified for this specific match. Dynasty has The Valkyrie. Voltage has Serena Riot and Aniyah Mitchell. We still have a few more spots for these matches, but this takes us to our announcement. The Elitists competing in the Divide and Conquer Match have assumed there’s two different Divide and Conquer Matches. It’s always been like that, but we this season allowing men and women to be on the same roster, go after the corresponding championships and having some high profiled feuds. One of the most prominent examples being Harlow Reichert and Mark Michaels. Is there a point to have just a Women’s Divide and Conquer Match? Do we have a reason to have a Men’s only Divide and Conquer? On Showdown last night, we witnessed some of the talents on my roster being victims from attack. Most notably, The Valkyrie was attacking Lucas Johnson, and it seems like it’s going to be challenging to separate the male and female Elitists. I talked about this with StarrStan and Matt Daniels, and this brings us to the announcement that at Territorial Invasion. Anyone who has already qualified in the Divide and Conquer Match will be taking part in the first-ever Divide and Conquer Battle of the Sexes Match.

HRDO: By the time Territorial Invasion arrives, there should be a team of seven men and a team of seven women. Much like how Divide and Conquer has always worked, the first team to eliminate everyone else of the opposite team, will face each other in a sudden death round. The first person to score a pinfall or submission in this round will come away with the victory. A lot of your are asking: “Okay, what are they fighting for?” Well, the winner of the Divide and Conquer Match get themselves a future championship opportunity on their respective brand. With such implications, I hope this lights a fire underneath the men and women in this match.

Jenny Punk: The women are going to kill it at Territorial Invasion.

HRDO: Don’t count out the men in this match either, Jenny.

Molly Waters: This was an announcement I wasn’t expecting at all, but it makes this Divide and Conquer Match a lot more interesting! I can’t wait to see how all of this unfolds in two weeks! That concludes this installment of Fight Grid. Thank you to Jenny Punk and HRDO for joining me! Territorial Invasion is on September 22nd! See you, ladies and gentlemen real soon!
