(The the camera fades in to Kathy Kush standing beside Empire General Manager Flannery McCoy. Standing behind FLannery, arms crossed, stands Angel Harris, Flannery’s new bodyguard. Kathy smiles uneasily at the monstrous woman who regards her cooly before turning to Flannery.)
Kathy Kush: Thank you all for joining us for a Fight Grid exclusive interview with Empire General Manager, Flannery McCoy. Ms. McCoy, thank you for your time.
(Flannery nods and smiles.)
Flannery McCoy: It’s no problem at all, I wanted to clear up something from Empire this past week.
(Kathy nods and continues)
Kathy Kush: That’s right, as I understand you would like to clarify something that acting general manager, Stephon Hunte, said this past week about the chamber match?
(Flannery lets out a long sigh and nods.)
Flannery McCoy: That’s right, Mr. Hunte declared the Specialists CHamber match the first ever “Specialists Extreme Bikini Match”…truly an awful concept. I can’t tell you how many text messages and emails I received from Empire competitors when he announced that, and I wanted to take a moment to address everyone’s concerns all at once: Mr. Hunte did not have the power to affect the Chamber match. While I certainly won’t forbid anyone from wearing a bikini to the chamber, if they so desire, it is not mandated.
(Kathy seems pleasantly surprised by the announcement.)
Kathy Kush: So…it’s not a bikini match?
(Flannery shakes her head.)
Flannery McCoy: No, not at all. Andrea Valentine, Tyler Wolfe, Serena Bennett, Clara Lovelace, Daisy Thrash, and Constance Blevins will compete in a match that is already potentially career altering. I’m not adding public disgrace and embarrassment to that mix. Empire is becoming the centerpiece of EAW’s crown, and that’s not because of bikinis and cleavage, it’s also not because of pillow fights and baby oil. We put on some of the best matches in the company regularly, we have some of the most talented Elitists EAW has to offer, and they kill it in the ring every night, not because they’re hot women, but because they’re top competitors.
(Kathy smiles broadly at Flannery’s words.)
Kathy Kush: Quite the statement, Ms. McCoy, is there anything else you’d like to address?
(Flannery thinks for a moment then nods.)
Flannery McCoy: Yes. The Unified Women’s Title Match…Madison, I saw your attack on Raven Roberts this week. I may not always agree with Raven’s methods, however one thing she does do is show up to fight. With that in mind, and the fact that regardless of what measures I try to put in place the COurt will likely become involved in the match, your defense at Road to Redemption is now a no disqualification match. There will be a winner one way or another, no cheap ways out for either of you. Now, Kathy, if you will excuse me, I have a meeting to attend.
(Flannery nods and turns to leave, accompanied by Angel, as Kathy smiles into the camera.)
