Cori Simmons: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome your 2018 Empress of Elite – Astarea Jordan!
(“Party Goin’ Dumb” by Rico Nasty plays as Astarea Jordan walks out to a positive reception, wearing her EOE crown. She smiles and waves at the fans as she slowly makes her way down the ramp.)
SG1: We are one week removed from the critically acclaimed Manifest Destiny! After weeks of a grueling tournament, Astarea Jordan has secured the crown and became this year’s Empress of Elite!
Alicia Amby: I have to say SG, this year had to be the best EOE yet! We saw some pretty amazing matches and Astraea Jordan vs Kassidy Heart blew the roof off the house!
SG1: We also saw Stephanie Matsuda retain her Unified Women’s Championship against Cameron Ella Ava, so there’s a chance we’ll be seeing one of the most anticipated rematches sooner than we thought at the aptly named Road to Redemption.
Alicia: Well Empire has two marquee events – Territorial Invasion and Empire’s own Bloodletter coming up! Two possible chances for Matsuda to successfully defend her title until the fateful meeting with Astarea in December!
SG1: I’m sure there’s a part of Astarea that hopes Matsuda makes it. Cloud herself admitted to “Surviving Astraea.” I wonder if she thinks she can defeat Chiraq’s finest a second time?
Alicia: Well, that was one of the questions I asked her during our taped interview, so you’ll find out the answer later tonight! For now, let’s see what our new Empress has to say.
(Astarea climbs into the ring and takes the mic)
Astraea Jordan: Whew! I didn’t know I got this much love in Idaho!
(Crowd cheers)
Astarea: After years of coming up short and being doubted at every turn, I find myself closer to becoming the best in the world! It’s been a hell of a ride people, but I’m still driving, always moving forward! Last year, I ended up on the bad side of an overzealous ref who counted a little too quickly. From there, I watched my career take a nosedive. Until I decided to take matters into my own hands. After murking a certain wannabe empress, I got a shot at the Women’s Championship…only to come up short again. That title should have been mine, but it slipped from my fingers. So at the advice of Ryan Adams – and apparently Stephanie Matsuda – I traveled the world, expanding my capabilities and acquiring raw experience. I bring up my rival because according to some sources, it was her that gave DDD the idea to send me on an excursion. I got better, got some gold and came back – only to lose in a match for the Freeweight Championship where I wasn’t even pinned. I had to find another way to Women’s World Championship and I found it by getting revenge on the woman who nearly cost me everything: Madison Kaline.
(Astarea strolls around the ring for a moment)
Astraea: I really thought I had it at the time. I thought I was ready – in fact, I was ready! If that match went on for several more minutes I would be your Unified Women’s Champion, and perhaps Cloud would be standing here as your Empress of Elite. But once again, luck favored the Blasian and she “survived” her way to a successful defense.
(Astarea rolls her eyes)
Astarea: Sure, Jan. Listen, I have nothing against Matsuda, but I should have walked out with that title. With each step I take, there’s some obstacle that tries to hold me back – but no more! I am Empress of Elite with a guaranteed shot at Empire’s world championship for a third time in a year! There’s no way in hell I’m going to walk out of RTR empty-handed. I am an empress – a notch above a queen! And once I merge the crown with the world title…I will be the UNDISPUTED champion of Thursday Night Empire!
(The camera zooms in on Astraea’s face)
Astarea: Kind of ironic the only empress to successfully cash in was your ex, huh Steph?
(Astraea winks)
Astraea: But, enough about your personal life. I didn’t come out to gloat and celebrate – I did that Saturday night with my boo, MJ. I came out here with a warning…
(Astraea’s face grows serious)
Astarea: Cloud. For the next few months, I want you to enjoy every moment you have with that belt. Live each day like it’s your last, and bask in the glory. Savor the glitz and glamour that goes with holding ten pounds of gold, because when it’s all over – you won’t be seeing that belt for a while, “sweets.” Because once that bell rings the next time we’re facing each other – time’s up. In your words, just “know and understand” that you’re not walking into 2019 the world champion. I. WILL. NOT. LOSE. Do you hear me Cloud!? Your holiday season is gonna have you f–ked up because all you’re gonna be able to think about is how much you got trashed by a superior athlete. You know the truth just as well as I do: Astraea. (Astraea dropped the mic and climbs out of the ring as “Party Going Dumb” plays in the background)
Alicia: I’m surprised that she kept it simple. I was thinking that we were going to get a large celebration with balloons and what not.
SG1: Well, she did say she celebrated over the weekend! I think Astraea wanted to send a message to Cloud. Like Matsuda, she lost several important matches in a year – she’s determined to not let that happen again. You told me before the show that Matsuda had some words for Astarea herself – but for now, let’s get to the first match of the evening!
Cori Simmons: The following contest is set for one fall!
Crowd: ONE FALL!
Cori Simmons: Introducing first:
(The opening techno beat of ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ by Demi Lovato is heard as the lyrics begin to kick in and Clarissa makes her way out onto the stage slowly, turning around so her back was facing the ring and once the chorus kicks in she raises her arms up out, turning head to look at both the crowd and the ring, before a smirk appears on her face as she turns around, holding her arms out. Clarissa ignores all the jeers from the crowd and begins pointing towards herself, yelling at the fans. Clarissa is mouthing the lyrics of her theme song as she walks up the steel steps and walks along the ring apron, taunting the fans as she enters the ring and makes her way over to the corner, climbing the turnbuckle as she holds her arms out before again pointing towards herself. Clarissa slowly removes her shades from her hairs and hands them off to the referee warning not to lose them as she stands there waiting for her opponent.)
Cori Simmons: From Bondi, Sydney, New South Wales, but now residing in Orlando Florida, weighing in at one hundred and thirty-two pounds….”THE BADDEST” Clarissa!
SG1: I really liked Clarissa’s tenacity and ingenuity in the Young Lioness Cup! She proved she was willing to do whatever it took to earn a victory!
Alicia Amby: By tenacity and ingenuity do you mean beating Constance with a chair, giving her staples? Cause that’s what she done, and it still wasn’t enough to earn the Young Lioness Cup. Clarissa has shown some promise, but she needs to step it up if she wants to start stringing together victories!
Cori Simmons: And now for her opponent!
On the stage a pair of spotlights light up on either side of the entrance ramp. A pair of steel poles rise from the stage as Runako Arisato and a fellow member of her dance troupe take to the polls, beginning to dance gracefully as a third light moves up the ramp. ‘I Am The Animal’ hits as the spotlight falls upon Sazae Hangaku, who licks her lips as she stares first at her dancers then at the audience before making her way down to the ring, long kimono billowing out behind her before sliding into the ring, Kanji Rocca cowering in her wake the whole way up and clearly praying for Sazae to not attack anyone she shouldn’t.
Cori Simmons: From Yomi-no-Kumi, Japan, weighing in at one hundred and thirty-seven pounds, “The Neon Oni” Sazae Hangaku!
Alicia Amby: Now here is a competitor that was impressive in the Young Lioness Cup, it took Toni Gunn stomping her skull into the mat to finally put an end to her reign of terror during that match, and that was after Sazae ate several finishers, had a busted nose, and had been in a brutal brawl from the opening bell. She’s walking death!
SG1: All that may be true, but she wasn’t able to capitalize on her dominance and it cost her! Tonight is a valuable opportunity for both competitors, they need to show that they can follow through with the vicious streaks they’ve shown.
Cori exits the ring as referee Nikka Machida checks both competitors, avoiding a bite attempt from Sazae in the process, then calls for the bell…

Alicia Amby: That’s the bell, and this match is underway! Clarissa is keeping her distance from Sazae, looking to keep the pace slower than the Cannibal of Shibuya would like.
SG1: Least we forget, Sazae is a dangerous striker in addition to her intimidating presence, Clarissa is playing smart by not immediately engaging her.
Alicia Amby: That’s very true, but it looks like she’s moving in…collar and elbow tie up! The two competitors are essentially the same size and so neither really seems able to overpower the other…Clarissa slips behind Sazae…she pulls her back to towards the corner, what’s her plan here?
SG1: Looks like her plan is to end this quick! Clarissa slips the underhooks and suplex Sazae into the turnbuckle! Hangaku’s neck snapped like a whip! Clarissa going for the quick pin here!

Two!!!!!
The referee caught Clarissa’s feet on the ropes! She could have beaten Sazae early had she not gotten caught!
Alicia Amby: Not gotten caught?! You mean not cheated?
SG1: I mean…sure, that works too, I guess, the point is, though, Clarissa is taking control of the match early on, but if she keeps making missteps like that she’s gonna lose that dominance fast!
Alicia Amby: Speaking of fast! Sazae is already on her feet, meeting “The Baddest” face to face, much to Clarissa’s horror! LOOK OUT! THE NEON ONI CAUGHT CLARISSA IN THE SCREAM IN SILENCE! THE MANDIBLE CLAW IS SUNK IN DEEP!
SG1: What’s Sazae doing?! Is she…SHE IS, SHE’S BITING CLARISSA’S NECK! Clarissa is flailing around helplessly as the official is trying to pull Sazae off her! Clarissa is in the ropes! That’s a break, but the damage is done, and there is a bite mark on the neck of Clarissa. Australia’s Greatest Export barely escaped being cannibalized by the Sazae Hangaku!
Alicia Amby: Clarissa is cowered in the corner, and Sazae is licking her lips and prancing around the ring mocking her! As Nikka Machida is checking on Clarissa Sazae comes stalking over…she hits a bicycle knee into the face of Clarissa as she’s trying to stand! Clarissa drops back to the mat, dazed. There is murder in the eyes of Sazae!
SG1: The Neon Oni drags Clarissa into the center of the ring, Clarissa, still trying to get her bearings, struggles to her knees as Sazae begins…dancing? Looks like she’s doing some kinda…NOPE! Sazae delivers a hard kick into the chest of Clarissa, driving the breath out of her!
Alicia Amby: She calls that “Vamo Alla Flamenco” Sazae is dancing in some sort of bloodlust as she delivers kick after kick into the chest of Clarissa! SUPERKICK! The Australian native is caught right on the chin with Sazae’s heel, and rolls out of the ring! Sazae quickly follows, a fiendish smile on her face, and begins pummeling Clarissa as the referee begins her count!
One!
Sazae hits a quick series of punches to the midsection of Clarissa, who manages to block several, and return fire with a punch of her own!
Two!
The Baddest follows through with a knife edge chop to the chest, and grabs Sazae’s arm…short-arm clothesline drives Hangaku to the floor!
3!
Clarissa tries to re-enter the ring, but her ankle is caught by Sazae! Clarissa is trying to kick free, but cannot escape the clutches of the Cannibal!

Sazae returns to a standing base and spins Clarissa around before catching her in a cobra clutch! Clarissa is struggling to escape, holding on to the bottom rope!

Sazae grins and licks the side of Clarissa’s face before slamming it into the ring apron over and over, driving the fight out of her! Clarissa can barely stand!
6!
Sensing it may be her last chance, Clarissa fights back with elbows to the midsection, temporarily stunning the Neon Oni. Sazae briefly loosens her grip on Clarissa!
7!
The Aussie makes a dive for the ring, but Sazae manages to catch the back strap of her top. An odd look comes over the Cannibal of Shibuya as she adjusts her grip and leans over the back of Clarissa!

Clarissa struggles once more, to no avail, as Sazae…SHE UNFASTENS CLARISSA’S GEAR! Australia’s Greatest Export quickly gives up trying to return to the ring and hugs her arms around herself!

As Clarissa is trying to refasten her top Sazae has her sey up…MASAMUNE! The kick to the head causes The Baddest to go limp on the mat! Sazae has knocked her opponent out! She quickly rolls into the ring just as the referee is making her count!

Clarissa is counted out! Sazae wins by count out!
Cori Simmons: The winner of the match by countout, The Neon Oni, Sazae Hangaku!
‘I Am The Animal’ by Will Ryan begins playing as the referee raises Sazae’s hand before quickly snatching it away as the Neon Oni tries to take a bite.
SG1: A countout? It’s been a while since we’ve seen that on Empire!
Alicia: Well, whatever it takes to win, right? When we come back, Mali Evans is back in action vs newest up and comer, Constance Blevins!

(Raven Roberts is seen working a rowing machine at the Crowe’s Nest HQ, she has a bandage over her nose and bruising along her left cheekbone. Chelsea Crowe and Jael Arcana-Rosario come into frame)
Chelsea Crowe: Hey Raven, we need to talk about something.
(Raven looks back and nods before releasing the bars of the machine and turning to face Chelsea and Jael)
Raven Roberts: What’s up?
Jael Arcana-Rosario: We… have a decision we need to tell you about.
Chelsea: You see, we’ve already finished filming all the necessary promos and packages for the Fox network this season. But the cash is still guaranteed to flow in.
(Raven narrows her eyes)
Raven: And?
Chelsea: And I’ve decided, that since Kendra has no interest in giving us the matches we deserve without us having to force her hand, that I’m going to take my guaranteed income, and sit out the remainder of my contract. Empire has become a wasteland and I’m needed elsewhere. Braxton will still be here to collect my cheques, but I’m not sticking around. In fact, I’ve decided to go on a little European business trip for a while.
Jael: And since we all got the same deal from Fox, I’m going with her.
Raven: You guys are leaving me? Is this because I lost at Manifest De—
Chelsea: Raven, no. You know you’re like a sister to us, one loss won’t change that. In fact, the reason I wanted to tell you this is because we knew you wouldn’t want to go. You love the competition too much. You hated sitting out of the Second Chance Initiative and you only did that because we asked you to. Besides, you need to be here – we can’t let all that potential go to waste. This is your chance to become a breakout star.
Jael: And we aren’t leaving you, sis. This is just meant to be for our current contract run. This isn’t goodbye.
(Chelsea takes ahold of Raven’s hand)
Chelsea: Raven, you are one of us. Period. And we trust that you are more than capable of making the influence of the Crowe’s Nest felt here in our absence. I trust that you can fly the flag for everything we stand for as a unit. We believe in you.
(Raven begins to look a bit emotional. She squeezes Chelsea’s hand and nods)
Chelsea: When I come back, I expect that Women’s World Championship around your waist.
(Chelsea smiles and walks away. Jael turns to follow, but Raven hops up and grabs her by the arm. Chelsea turns around)
Raven: Sorry… Chelsea… would you give Jael and I just a moment alone?
(Chelsea nods and leaves)
Jael: What is it, sis?
Raven: Jael… I know.
(Jael begins to look nervous)
Jael: What do you mean?
Raven: Since I joined the Nest, you’ve been my best friend. We’ve trained together. We’ve cooked together. We’ve gone shopping together. We’ve argued. We’ve laughed. Jael… I see the way you look at Chelsea. I know why you won’t leave her side.
(A look of panic grows in Jael’s face)
Jael: I… I don’t…
(Raven pulls her friend into a tight hug)
Raven: It’s okay. You don’t have to say it. Just know, Europe is full of very romantic places. Perfect for expressing your feelings to someone.
(Jael returns Raven’s hug, unable to speak)
Raven: You go get her, sis.
(The two release and smile at each other one more time, tears in their eyes. Jael nods before turning to leave. Once she’s gone, Raven wipes the tears from her eyes and sits down on one of the weight benches, contemplating what would come next)

(‘“The Enemy” by The Commonjets blares throughout the arena while Mali Evans makes her energetic entrance to the ring.along with the uproar of support from the Empire crowd )
Cori Simmons: INTRODUCING FIRST! From Birmingham, England, weighing in at 127 pounds…… MAAAAAAAALIIIIIIIIIII EVVVVVVVVVVVAANNNNNNNNNS!!!
Alicia Ambry: Mali Evans is determined to show what joint manipulation truly looks like as she has said in the past her strong suit is technical wrestling, will she use that style to win this match? We’ll see.
( As Mali Evans jumps off the top turnbuckle, “Roar” by Katy Perry blasts through the speakers, prompting for the arrival of Constance Blevins as she scans the crowd in attendance, eventually walking down the ramp with determination )
Cori Simmons: HER OPPONENT! From Baltimore, Maryland, weighing in at 120 pounds….. CONNNNNNNNNNSTANNNNNCEEEEE BLEEEEEEVVVVVINNNS!!!!
SG1: Don’t underestimate Constance Blevins! Constance Blevins will not back down from a fight and she will make you go over your limit. She will make you fight your best!
( As both woman walk over to their corners, the black and white striped referee signals for the bell )
(DING! DING! DING!)
SG1: Both women circulate around the ring as they are quick on the feet right when the bells rang, beginning the match. They both charge at each other, locking in a collar-and-elbow tie-up, trying to see who can power each other out. Blevins transition the tie-up into an armblock as Evans circles around Constance, grabbing her arm and applying a top wrist lock on her, applying pressure on her shoulder joint as Constance rolls down, kipping up and applying a top wrist lock of her own!
Alicia Ambry: Evan rolls over, kipping up and trying to lock up a top wrist lock one again but Constance goes around Evan, wrapping her arms around her waist and taking her down with a waist takedown. Constance moves all around Evan, switching position stances, eventually settling down on a new hold, putting her knee on her back and pulling her head back, putting pain on her ribs/collar bone area.
SGI: The crowd supporting Evan as she tries to fight out, powering out of it by slowly rising up! Blevins releases the hold, wrapping her arms around her waist.. BACK SUPLEX!! NO!!! EVAN FLIPS OVER, LANDING ON HER FEET! SHE JUMPS UP… REVERSE FRANKENSTEINER!!! CONSTANCE’S NECK GOES STRAIGHT INTO THE CANVAS AS EVAN CRAWLS OVER FOR THE PIN!

Alicia Ambry: Constance uses this an opportunity and immediately slides into the ring, RUNS THE ROPES AND FLIES OUT OF THE RING ONTO MALI EVANS WITH A SUICIDE DIVE!!! EVANS CRASHES INTO THE BARRICADE, BOUNCING OFF IT AS CONSTANCE RISES TO HER FEET, GRABBING EVANS AND SHOVING HER INTO THE SQUARED CIRCLE!
SG1: She begins to climb up the turnbuckles, perched on top of the turnbuckles as she overlooks the afflicted Mali Evans! SHE JUMPS OFF THE TOP RIGHT WHEN MALI TURNS AROUND!! MALI CATCHES THE MISSILE DROPKICK IN THE MID AIR, GRABBING BOTH FEET AND TURNING HER AROUND!!! BOSTON CRAB IS LOCKED IN!!!! BOSTON CRAB!!! WILL SHE TAP!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Alicia Ambry: Evans has the iconic Boston Crab sinked in, applying more pressure as she sits deeper onto the back of Constance Blevins!! Blevins is in distress as she begins to claw her nails, using it to drag her way to the ropes! Evans begins to apply more pressure, giving it her all by trying to submit the Lioness!!! SHE GETS TO THE ROPES!! ROPE BREAK!!!
SG1: The referee begins to count as Evans is shocked that Blevins made it to the ropes, letting go before the referee makes it to the completion of the notorious five count!! Evans walks over to the anguished Blevins, propping her on top of the turnbuckles, joining her as she hooks for a suplex!! BLEVINS IS TRYING TO FIGHT OUT OF IT, SENDING BLOWS TO THE SIDE OF EVANS’ CHEST!!! BUT IT DOES NOT AFFECT AS EVANS LIFTS HER UP!!!! SUPERPLEX!!!!! EVANS ROLLS IT INTO A FALCON ARROW!!! NO!!!! Constance Blevins somehow walks out of this grueling, badass match as the victor, leaving Mali Evans as the loser. Hats off to both of these women! WOW!

It seems like Prince of Phenomenal, Scott Diamond and Lars Grier should watch this match closely because Andrea has proven to be someone they need to be taken seriously! Andrea spins herself around as she manages to get out of the armdrag takedown as she twists Clara’s arm before standing behind her! Clara counters with an arm twist of her own on Andrea as she is now standing behind Andrea and slams her stomach first against the mat! Clara takes her hands off her back and goes to apply a headlock before getting the Openweight Champion up to her feet again! Cameron Ella Ava is focused ringside as she is looking underneath the bottom rope to seeing Clara apply the headlock on Andrea! Andrea pushes Clara away from her as Clara stops herself dead in her tracks before she collides with the ropes! Andrea tries to connect with a roll up, but Clara rolls over and connects with a low dropkick, sending Andrea to her back!

Andrea is back on her feet as Clara grabs Andrea by her arm and whips her to the ropes! Andrea bounces off the ropes as Clara connects with some axe handles, knocking Andrea down the second she gets up to her feet! Clara follows that axe handles by getting a good hold of Andrea’s arm and connecting with a springboard armdrag as Andrea goes flying to the other side of the ring!

Consuela looks to be confident as she slowly paces around the ring with Layla giving close follow in pursuit! Now both ladies move in on each other. Consuela looking for the collar and elbow tie up but Layla using her quickness ducks under just out of the reach of Consuela! Layla locking Consuela into a waistlock but Consuela quickly looking for the hip toss on Layla but Layla is blocking it! Consuela though transitions herself out and twisting the arm and elbow of Layla! But Layla adapting right away as she now reverse flips through to get out of the twisting arm hold but she now reverses it on Consuela! Consuela tries to fight out of this predicament by reversing it again but this time Layla wrenches at the arm of Consuela causing Consuela to slightly yelp! Consuela tries to take a swing at Layla with her free arm but to no avail as she ducks the short arm clothesline attempt letting go of Consuela in the process and delivers an arm drag to ‘The Perfectionist’ by ‘The Warrior Princess’! Consuela back up quickly coming at Layla but again too quick is the ‘Warrior Princess’ as she’s able to position herself perfectly to deliver yet another arm drag to Consuela! This time Consuela not so quick getting back to her feet as Layla grabs Consuela and Irish whips her but this is reversed sending Layla to the ropes! Coming back Layla looking for the single leg dropkick but Consuela was ready for such an attack as she baseball slides under and avoids the contact! Consuela trying to hook Layla from behind with a waistlock but Layla reaches back and grabs Consuela before Consuela can pull a move off and Layla brings Consuela over her shoulder with force with a snapmare takedown that she transitions into a headlock to the sitting Consuela Rose Ava! Layla Lockhart showing her grappling ability early on here perhaps taking Consuela a little by surprise! I don’t think she expected this right from the get-go! But Consuela the bigger of the two by almost seven inches using that and her overall strength advantage to manage herself slowly back into a standing vertical base with Layla still latching on the headlock! Consuela is about up! And she’s free from the headlock! She sends Layla to the ropes once more and Consuela catches her with a kick to the sternum area which causes Layla to keel over holding her midsection! This gives her time to attack Layla with a facebuster against the knee which takes Layla down! Consuela crawls into a single leg cover!

Alicia: And the kickout by Layla! Consuela grabs Layla up only to put her back down on the canvas with a body slam! This is followed up by multiple elbow drops to the chest area of Layla Lockhart! Consuela smartly moves in slowly instead of rushing into an attack against the quicker Layla Lockhart! OWWW!! A flying clotheline to Layla in the corner that knocks some of the wind out of her! Consuela now in complete control of the situation as she now is blatantly using her boot to choke Lockhart in the corner! Layla is helpless to prevent this choke! Only the referee can break the hold, and he reaches the count of four and finally takes it upon himself to physically grab the leg of Consuela to make her break it and then admonishes ‘The Perfectionist’ and her actions as she puts her hands up as she backs away a step or two to give Layla room to recover just a little! Consuela now has Layla and is looking for the DDT but Layla shoots back with fist shots to the midsection of Consuela! Now an elbow to midsection! Consuela releases as Layla rebounds off the looking for the swinging neckbreaker coming back but Consuela breaks away from Layla’s grasp a the last moment but she grabs Layla instead and delivers a beautiful backflip knee arm drag that sends Layla right over and hitting the canvas with some authority in that throw! (The referee raises the hand of the Warrior Princess who’s all smiles as she pumps her fist up high with her free hand.)
Alicia: What an upset! There’s no way around that! Layla, she just beat a former two time Specialist Champion! And Consueala can do is shake her head in absolute dejection and disappointment here! She sitting still. I don’t think she’s even fully processed her next move, well, because she hasn’t moved.
SG1: Certainly a heartbreaking loss for Consuela! Given that she really needed this one to perhaps in the very least put her name in the discussion again for a potential title opportunity in the future, this definitely has to be a hard one to take! But congratulations to Layla Lockhart on a very hard fought, hard earned victory!

Alicia Amby: Earlier this week I got to sit down with the Iconic War Queen herself, Stephanie Matsuda at her Brooklyn home. We talked about a variety of issues including her match against Cameron Ella Ava, life as a champion, and what’s next for her. Let’s take a look.
(PRE-RECORDED: The camera opens to Alicia Amby and Stephanie “Cloud” Matsuda sitting inside her cozy Brooklyn loft just above the War Room Dojo. Cloud is wearing a faded, vintage “Alterbridge” Ryan Adams shirt and torn jeans. Alicia is wearing a simple blue t-shirt and jean shorts.)
Alicia Amby: Thank you for inviting me into your home, Stephanie. I like the style…it has kind of a retro feel to it.
Stephanie Matsuda: You have to thank Monica for that. She’s into that stuff. I’m just whatever about it and let her do the decorating.
Alicia: Speaking of Monica, you announced to the world about your engagement PFP weekend. Is there a date set?
Stephanie: Not officially, but we’re looking at a date midway through 2019? For now, we’re focused on my championship reign.
Alicia: So, what is it like having your partner as your manager?
Stephanie: Monica handles the day to day stuff like setting up my schedule, meetings, and staying in my butt about my physical training. Mao Ichimichi is still my agent and handles my contracts and sponsorships. It gets easier to think about my fights when I have other people watching over the other stuff.
Alicia: Do you still teach at the War Room Dojo?
Stephanie: Unfortunately, I don’t have time at the moment. Billy and Jimmy Wilde are running the school alongside Kevin Maverick. EAW’s strict schedule didn’t suit them, so they’re staying on the indies for a little longer.
Alicia: Sounds like life has changed drastically for you.
Stephanie: It has. I don’t get to spend that much time with my family and friends like I used to. I haven’t taught a class at the dojo in six months. My kids – the ones I got from the Deimos home – are right there across the street and I barely see them. The matron and case manager sees them more than I do. But, everyone knows and understands why I choose this life and how it benefits them as well. The brownstone next door where the Hunter family lives have been paid for. My late mentor’s wife no longer has to work overtime at the hospital. My success has open doors around the world for my students, including Serenity Scorpio and Jocelyn Sky. JET has seen a recent resurgence of talent because everyone knows that’s where I got my big break! (smiles) Hell, I live on one of the few ungentrified blocks in Bushwick because I bought some of the apartments and houses just to keep the rent down so the people around me don’t have to move. I’m not trying to save the world or anything – I’m just trying to protect what I hold dear. I love Brooklyn, adore my friends and family, I’m proud of my heritage, and god damn it I can’t live without pro wrestling! Being in the position I’m in allows me to share the blessings I’ve received with everyone else – f–k being rich, Alicia. I barely buy things for myself; I can rock a t-shirt and sweatpants for the rest of my life. But these millions I’m making? It empowers my environment. You could say I’m taking a strengths-based approach to my new found success. I’m working closely with local agencies to open transitional housing for homeless LGBTQ youth. People wonder if I’m getting enough rest and quite honestly, I’m not. I barely slept before my match with Cameron and it showed.
Alicia: I was going to ask about that. How do you feel now that you defeated one of the greatest wrestlers in the world?
Stephanie: It wouldn’t be the first time I did something like that. I retired Cleopatra from active competition; Cailin Dillon was a bonafide future Hall of Famer before I snapped her body in half. The stronger my opponent, the harder I fight. Ryan Marx was never the same after he fought me – didn’t he disappear like a month after Road to Redemption? When people cross paths with the War Queen it changes them. You have Cam running around coaching the future of the business; Sienna Jade and Madison Kaline are in some kind of funk, and Astarea is in full Super Saiyan mode. For better or worse, I force change everywhere I go. When you’re in the ring with me it’s not just a physical battle – it’s a philosophical debate. It’s your lifestyle versus mine – your beliefs, training, and values are put up against my own! It’s a war of wills where the last person standing validates their reason for fighting. So far, my desire for victory vastly outweighs anyone else’s narrative. I understand how an EAW champion can change the world – something very few champions, in general, has realized. People can talk about how badass they are, or how they a great champion – pfft, nobody’s touching me, Alicia. I’m currently the longest actively reigning world champion in EAW. And if EAW is the best promotion in the world…well, I guess that makes me the best champion in the world.
Alicia: Uh…what are you trying to say?
Stephanie: Something they may or may not make it to air: I don’t care what belt anyone else wears be it on Team Mystic on Saturdays, Team Valor on Fridays, or Team Instinct on Sundays. I’m the team leader in this bitch.
(Alicia laughs, but immediately stops when she sees the serious look in Matsuda’s eyes)
Stephanie: I will crush any Kingdom that stands against me, climb Olympus and make any so-called Messiah tap. At any time I can go back to JET and reclaim that world title. I can reign over lethal angels, run Rose City, run a DIVISION, or maybe I could keep it old school and be the War Queen of an…extreme wrestling corporation.
Alicia: Did you just –
Stephanie: Yes, I took it there. In fact, the social media team can put this on Twitter because I’m issuing an open challenge to anyone out there claiming to be the best world champion. The EAW Unified Women’s Champion is the most prestigious belt because I deem it so. Thursday Night Empire is the best brand not just on EAW but in the industry because of WE on the roster. I’m not just queen of a bunch of divas, I’m a god damn war general presiding over a league of cold-blooded assassins. Don’t let their looks fool you – the women of Empire doesn’t make it easy for me to hold on to this belt. Cam didn’t make it easy for me. It’s because of them I am the best in the world – not just of my own admission. A champion is only as good as her challengers, and if I defeated the likes of Jael Arcana-Rosario, Sienna Jade, Madison Kaline, and Cameron Ella Ava – ALL former champions mind you, then what does that say about me? Your currently Empress of Elite? I already beat her once. Can I do it again? We’ll have to see. But I’ll tell you this much – all eyes will be on Astarea along her road to redemption. I’ll be waiting for you, sweets.

SG1: Daisy Thrash is making it her mission tonight to prove the doubters wrong once more! In what was considered to be a women’s match of the year contender, Daisy Thrash defeated EAW Openweight Champion Andrea Valentine in what many considered to be the upset of the night!
Alicia Amby: Ever since she’s come back, Daisy has shown a lot of initiative! Maybe this is a sign that she’s improving? We could be seeing a brand new Daisy Thrash!
SG1: Well I’m sure her opponent would want to put that to the test!
(Daisy Thrash climbs into the ring and makes a rock n’ roll symbol to the fans. “F.U.U.” by Dream Wife plays as Sienna Jade walks out with the Empire Tag Team Championship around her waist.)
Cori: Her opponent! From Calgary, Alberta, Canada, by way of San Diego, CA! Weighing at 135 lbs…she is one half of the EAW Empire Tag team Champions…Sienna! Jade!
SG1: There’s something different about Ms. Jade…
Alicia: I don’t think she got implants…
SG1: It’s her demeanor. She seems to be more serious than usual.
Alicia: She did come off a successful tag defense. Maybe she wants to continue the momentum. She claims to not have the best showing at the EOE though she did make it to the semis, but lost a shot at the Specialist Championship.
SG1: That might be messing with her head when you think about it. A few months ago she was on top of the world as REVOLT’s only Freeweight Champion. Now she’s far away from the world title scene after being dethroned by Stephanie Matsuda.
Alicia: Well the door is open for Matsuda’s next competitor. Maybe after a couple of strong wins, she’ll have another shot.
SG1: We’ll see.
(Sienna Jade climbs into the ring and faces off with Daisy Thrash)

SG1: Referee Jesse Carlton calls for the bell and we are well underway here at the Taco Bell Arena! Sienna Jade and Daisy Thrash are circling around each other, trying to find an opening! Both women lock-up! Jade succeeds with a high wristlock, and flips Thrash onto her back! She follows up with an armlock, and tightens the hold! Thrash is screaming in pain, but she rolls back to her feet and reverses with a waistlock! Standing dropkick to the back Sienna Jade!
Alicia: Jade hits the mat hard! Thrash delivers a stomp to the spine and picks up Jade by the hair. Backfist to the face! Sienna is knocked back, but Daisy stays on her! She whips her to the corner – Jade dodges the high knee! Daisy avoids crashing by jumping to the outside apron! Sienna grabs Daisy by the head and pushes her face-first into the turnbuckle! Daisy stumbles down the ring steps from the impact, adding insult to injury! Jade wastes no time climbing to the top as Daisy struggles to get to her feet – STARSTRUCK!! JADE HITS THE TOP ROPE MOONSAULT FROM THE OUTSIDE! X MARKS THE SPOT! What amazing height and agility from the Empire Tag Team Champion!
(An instant replay shows Jade pulling off a successful top rope moonsault)
SG1: Sienna Jade has a rocky start, but she seems to have things back in order! Before the ref could start the count, she rolls Daisy back into the ring and follows suit! She starts crawling towards her opponent and rakes her back! Daisy’s squirming around in pain as the ref chastizes Jade for her actions!
Alicia: You can never underestimate the ruthlessness of this woman. Whenever she’s cornered, she’ll fight back tooth and nail!
SG1: Sienna sits on the back of Thrash and applies a camel clutch! Oh my god! Thrash’s spine is being stretched to its very limits!
Alicia: Daisy’s in a tight spot as Jade waste no time going for a submission! You can tell that she wants to end things as fast as possible!
SG1: The ref is checking on Thrash, but she’s showing no signs of giving up! Sienna’s yelling in her ear, telling her to give in! Jade wants to end things here and now, but Thrash is staying strong! She’s trying to crawl towards the ropes! Jade is attempting to pull her back! Daisy’s doing everything in her power to make it to the ropes!
