Coming to a store near you, EAW 2K19 will be available on October 12, 2018 and as the date approaches more and more details begin to be revealed. First announced at Midsummer Massacre, the former World Heavyweight Champion Chris Elite will be this year’s coverboy for EAW 2K19. The game will be available on all platforms including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, Windows PC, and Xbox One and Xbox 360. An event held in NYC over the weekend of Midsummer Massacre hosted by 2K Sports revealed the cover alongside many other details about the game. Coverboy Chris Elite in attendance in his hometown as his presence drew a sold-out event and that isn’t counting the thousands of fans who camped outside of the venue for a chance to get a glimpse of Brooklyn’s Finest. Thankfully Fight Grid was able to make the cut and we are happy to share the first details of this year’s edition.
The general cover for this year’s game.
Here are some bits we found noteworthy:
Pre-order now and you can get Suicide Kid as DLC alongside Orton Hardy and Chris Castle.
There will be 10+ new legends choose from on top of the legends from previous years’ games. Including but not limited to Alexander Da Vinci, Brody Sparks, Captain Charisma, Cy Henderson, Xavier Williams, and many many more.
A revamped MyCareer mode with a story produced by screenwriter Ryan Coogler(Creed, Black Panther, etc.) that follows the journey of your wrestler from the very beginning of their career to retirement. You have the option to choose from a wrestling school or start at the EAW PC via tryout to start your journey. From there you can gradually improve the rating of your player and depending on your starting point, for example, if you choose to start at the EAW PC as opposed to starting off in a small time wrestling school, your stats won’t be as high initially. Work your way up from wrestling in high school gyms to becoming an independent star all the way to being noticed by EAW where if you land a contract you can embark on a career that can last as long as 20 years. The story depicts the trials and tribulations as well as the highs and lows that come with pursuing a career of professional wrestling.
Improved graphics as a result of full body and face scans done this year to more accurately depict the wrestler’s facial features and overall physique. This way you won’t be playing with a muscular Xander Payne when we all know he’s flabby in reality.
MyRing mode. If you have PS Plus or Xbox Live you will be able to take your created wrestler to various gyms where they can wrestle the created wrestlers of other players.
Showcase modes including:
Vixens Division
Diamond Cage
EAW: Year One
The special Legend Edition cover featuring Jamie O’Hara.
This year’s game is so big that we needed multiple editions! On top of the general Chris Elite cover which will be available on all platforms for $59.99, there will be other editions such as the Legend Edition featuring Jamie O’Hara on the cover which will be available for $99.99 on September 14th, granting early access to those who pay the extra fee. But early access isn’t all that comes with the Legend Edition, you will get access to special features such as 100,000 in Virtual Currency, rare EAW SuperCard packs on a weekly basis, physical collectibles such as a Jamie O’Hara poster and Pop! Vinyl. The latest and final edition to be announced is the “Gawd Edition” featuring, you guessed it.. Mr. DEDEDE!
