BREAKING NEWS: Daryl Kinkade gives his comments on Super Voltage II and Candice Blair!

(Fight Grid intro plays.)

[SCREENBAR: POST-SUNDAY NIGHT VOLTAGE 03/05/2023]

(The camera opens away from the usual setting of EAW Headquarters in Newark, New Jersey, instead going to the backstage area of the T-Mobile Center located in Kansas City, Missouri, where the last set of weekly shows were held, specifically Voltage. The backstage crew is setting up to leave and various Elitists are seen making their way out to the parking lot, but specifically the shot focuses on the Fight Grid host, Molly Waters, standing alone with a smile on her face. She has a microphone in hand and after some time brings it up to her mouth.)

Molly Waters: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Fight Grid! Your source for all news throughout the Land of Elite with yours truly, Molly Waters. And today we’re coming at you from a different setting than usual, instead backstage after a jam packed Sunday Night Voltage this week! What a show it was, but right now I want to take the time to focus on one of the Voltage Elitists who got a victory here tonight and is being set up for big things in the future, specifically during next week’s Super Voltage II event that is happening. Please welcome my guest at this time for this exclusive Fight Grid interview… Daryl Kinkade!

(The camera pans over to show Daryl Kinkade making his way into the scene. He’s dressed out of his ring gear and into his casual clothes as he greets Molly with a smile.)

Molly Waters: Daryl, thank you for joining us tonight. I want to shed some light on a match that was confirmed for next week, not just that, but as the main event of Super Voltage. You will be going up against Candice Blair, with the winner getting a EAW World Championship opportunity against whoever wins between Myles and Samael at Tempest at Grand Rampage. I just want to get your thoughts on it if you don’t mind?

Daryl Kinkade: It’s… invigorating to say the least. It takes me back to a match I was in a couple months back at Rise of The Resistance, when I fought Minerva for that very title. I came out of that match empty handed and since then it feels like that loss has been a rain cloud looming over my head. The EAW World Championship is the epicenter of this very brand, and even getting an opportunity like that is something I’m really fortunate to have, no doubt. But to see myself reach that point only to end up skidding down the mountain again, it really was not the most pleasant sight. So it’s really satisfying for me to get an opportunity like this again, looking past Super Voltage II and toward Grand Rampage where I genuinely feel that my ticket has already been stamped for the event. I’m going to be fighting for the World Championship, and I’m going to make sure that I do everything in my power to change the result of what happened against Minerva.

Molly Waters: I will say this, Candice Blair is one tough cookie. She is someone that has been through the motions and hardened herself into the Elitist that she is today. Do you think you’re up for that challenge?

Daryl Kinkade: Oh absolutely, seeing as her little cronies don’t get involved, I think I’m pretty confident in how it’s going to go down. We are no strangers to one another and it feels like I have her pretty scouted up to this point, so if there’s anyone that’s going to at least have a shot at being the next big thing here on Voltage, then it’s going to be me, not her. I don’t have much high hopes for her considering, as I mentioned, she can’t do much without help, but I feel knowing the opportunity that is presented before her she knows that this is what she needs to prove herself, and she knows better than to cut corners against me.

Molly Waters: And just one last question-

(Suddenly, Daryl is blinded! He is taken down and standing over him is none other than Candice Blair, Halsey Neel, and Sierra Everett. Both of them begin to stomp down on him like a pack of hyenas, reminiscent of what they did earlier in the show with Ronan Malosi and ARIA. Both of them begin to pick him apart, and it isn’t long before he can’t even fight back anymore. He tried, but the numbers advantage was too much for him. Candice looks down at him with a pouty look on her face, wiping invisible tears before beginning to speak.)

Candice Blair: Oh Daryl, what am I going to do with you… You’re one gullible fool I’ll tell you that much, allowing yourself to believe everything and anything. Let me tell you something, your match against Halsey meant absolutely nothing, you got lucky thanks to a Ronan interference, congratulations to you. The only match that counts in the grand scheme of things is the one that the two of us are going to have next week. Only one of us is going to be able to go to Grand Rampage and fight the EAW World Championship, and trust me pal, it’s going to be Candice Blair. I hope this serves as a lesson to keep your mouth shut.

(Candice gets back up to her feet and dusts herself off, with the trio turning around and leaving the area. Molly slowly shuffles into the scene, looking down while officials nearby check on Daryl who is barely stirring. It’s the last shot seen before Fight Grid begins to fade to black from there.)

(Fight Grid logo buzzes.)
