[SCREENBAR – After Sunday Night Voltage.]
(The camera opens up to the backstage area of the Sparks Arena in Auckland, New Zealand. Akari Kiyoko is seen in the hallway following Sunday Night Voltage, where he and Michael S. Connor teamed up in the first round of the Tag Team Turmoil tournament against Michael Machina and Methuselah. Akari is obviously a bit disappointed following the outcome, knowing how big of an opportunity it would have been, but before he can leave the arena, someone stops him.)
???: Akari, do you have a minute?
(Akari turns around, and sees one of the Co-Captains for Voltage’s Brand Warfare team, Ms. Extreme, standing behind him.)
Ms. Extreme: There’s something we need to talk about.
Akari Kiyoko: Yeah, I have time. What do you need?
Ms. Extreme: Well, I’m not the type to beat around the bush. Limmy and I are working on putting together the Brand Warfare team, and I’ve been paying attention to the recent performances of the members of this brand. That includes yours.
(While hearing this initially surprises Akari, as his realization sets in, he doesn’t actually look too thrilled about this.)
Akari Kiyoko: Well, this may have been bad timing. I’m sure you saw our loss tonight, and that was right after I failed to take the Hardcore Championship from Cameron Ella Ava. I made a promise, and after all this time and all the work I’ve put into making sure I was ready for that kind of opportunity, I came up short and let this entire brand down. Seeing as tonight didn’t go any better, I believe there’s still work to be done.
(Akari turns to leave, but before he can do so, Ms. Extreme begins to speak once more.)
Ms. Extreme: That’s not how I see it.
(Akari stops, and while he doesn’t respond, he listens as Ms. Extreme continues.)
Ms. Extreme: I’m not going to deny the fact that you’ve had some rough luck lately, but you’re not alone there. You’re not the first nor will you be the last Elitist to go through this, and if you look at our current Brand Warfare team you’ll find that we’re all trying to bounce back from recent failures. Not only that, but like I said, I’ve been watching. I’ve been paying attention, and at Bloodsport I saw you give my sister everything she could handle and more. Cameron’s a Hall of Famer and I’m sure you understand the kind of competitor she has to be in order to hold the Hardcore Championship at this point in her career, yet that didn’t stop you from pushing her to her limit and coming as close as you possibly could to cutting her reign short. I believe we need that kind of competitor on our team, so what do you say?
(Akari Kiyoko takes some time to think about it. While he hasn’t had the best luck lately, he understands that this is a significant opportunity for him and could be an important match for him. After some time, Akari responds.)
Akari Kiyoko: Thank you for the offer. I’m in.
Ms. Extreme: Perfect, then I’ll see you at Territorial Invasion. Make sure to bring the same fight you brought to Cameron.
Akari Kiyoko: You can expect that and more. It was a mistake leaving Bloodsport without the Hardcore Championship. I won’t disappoint at Territorial Invasion.
(Ms. Extreme nods her head, before beginning to walk away from the area. Akari Kiyoko thinks about the upcoming Brand Warfare match, understanding the challenge that’s ahead of him. He has a determined look on his face, and this is the final shot seen as the camera fades to black.)
