(Fight Grid intro plays.)
(The camera opens up to EAW Headquarters, the building located in Newark, New Jersey. As always, the camera pans around the building, before fading inside the building. The camera fades to the office of Molly Waters, who is seated behind her desk, staring towards the camera as usual. She has a smile on her face, and before long she begins to speak.)
Molly Waters: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to Fight Grid, the number one source for news in the Land of Elite! As always I am Molly Waters, and as always I am here with some breaking news. Today I actually have some footage I’d like to air for you all, and it’s regarding one of the participants in this year’s Grand Rampage match. This was a fantastic match as we all know. It was very competitive and brought the best out of everyone involved, before being won by Dynasty’s Jake Smith. Now, I’m sure a loss in a match this big would be disappointing for anybody, but one Elitist did not take the loss very well, and the answer might just surprise you! Well, let’s see the footage.
(The camera begins to fade away from Molly Waters, before transitioning to the footage from Grand Rampage.)
[SCREENBAR – Chase Field Arena, after Grand Rampage.]
(The footage opens up to the backstage area, and the first thing shown on the screen is a chair flying across the camera. A few seconds later, other things are seen as chairs are thrown, crates are kicked and more. Throughout all of this, yelling can be heard, but it’s not entirely known what’s being said until the individual slowly gets closer.)
???: THERE’S NO WAY! THERE’S NO WAY HE WON THE MATCH INSTEAD OF ME! HE NEVER BEATS ME! HE COULDN’T DO IT THEN, WHY COULD HE DO IT NOW!? HE SHOULDN’T HAVE WON THE GRAND RAMPAGE!
(Eventually the person walks into the camera’s view, continuing to push things over, and this is when the person is revealed to be none other than Gary Daniels, whose attitude doesn’t seem to match what has been seen recently from him. He begins to pace back and forth, frustrated over what happened in the Grand Rampage match.)
“Gary Daniels”: Jake Smith??? Really? What is HE doing in the main event of Pain for Pride?? How is HE a Grand Rampage winner??? HOW DID HE WIN WHEN I WAS IN THE MATCH???? I SHOULD’VE BEEN ABLE TO STOP HIM! HE’S NOT SUPPOSED TO BEAT ME! HE NEVER BEATS ME! IT DOESN’T MAKE SENSE! Every time we face each other, I win! Every time! It didn’t matter how many times he tried before, what was different now!? Why did he win the Grand Rampage when he can’t even beat me!?
(Eventually, as Gary Daniels continues to stress over the outcome of the Grand Rampage match, someone else begins to walk into the camera’s view. This would be the Voltage Commissioner, Captain Charisma. Gary Daniels doesn’t notice this, so with his hands in his pockets, Captain Charisma just watches.)
“Gary Daniels”: I should have won that match. WHEN DO I LOSE TO JAKE SMITH???? WHEN DOES HE EVER BEAT ME!? This isn’t right. This isn’t what was supposed to happen, and-
(Finally, Captain Charisma clears his throat, causing Gary to turn towards him. There’s a brief moment of silence between them, before Captain Charisma begins to speak with clear sarcasm in his voice.)
Captain Charisma: Gary… What’s wrong!?
“Gary Daniels”: …
Captain Charisma: Don’t mind me. I just noticed you acting very out of character and thought I’d see what the problem is! Anything I could help you with?
“Gary Daniels”: …
(Captain Charisma has a smirk on his face as he waits for a response, but Gary Daniels just turns around, even more frustrated.)
“Gary Daniels”: Oh go to heck, Matthieu!
(Gary Daniels storms off, and Captain Charisma just laughs seeing this. From there, the camera fades out as the footage ends, before fading back to Molly Waters in her office.)
Molly Waters: Well, that definitely isn’t what many of us expected to see from “Gary Daniels”, who had spent the last few weeks as someone who didn’t seem to worry too much about wins and losses. I’m sure many questions will be raised after seeing this, especially considering what was said in that video, but I believe we’ll need to wait for next week’s Sunday Night Voltage to have all of our answers. That’s all from me today. Thank you for joining me at this time, as always I am Molly Waters, signing off.
(Molly waves to the camera as it begins to fade out, fading to one more shot of EAW Headquarters. It pans around the building once more, before finally the camera fades to black.)
(EAW logo buzzes.)
