Battleground 11/26/2018

( EAW Intro plays. )

( “Welcome to the Party” by Diplo starts playing as the Battleground intro plays through the screen. Soon after the camera shows the Prudential Center as the fans start cheering before it fades to the announce table. )

Clark Ruggerio: Good evening people and welcome back to another episode of Monday Night Battleground! My name is Clark Ruggerio and I’m joined here by my partner.

Ben Knight: Hello everyone, my name is Ben Knight and we’re back here in the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey where we’ll about to witness an epic night!

Clark Ruggerio: Well said, Ben. Tonight as our tag team grand prix match we’re having the SuperMegaGirlz vs The Canadian Dream and I ensure you it’s going to be exciting.

Ben Knight: Not only that but we’re also going to witness a match between Johnny Walker and Damon Diesel and if Johnny wins, he gets 6 points and moves automatically to the main roster.

Clark Ruggerio: It would be a huge step for his career but it would also mean Battleground would lose one of it’s biggest stars. However that’s the purpose of Battleground itself, so let’s hope Johnny represents us the right way.

Ben Knight: I’d say let’s start the show with some tag team action!

(The camera cuts to Maria Del Rey in the ring.)

Maria Del Rey: The following contest is a tag team match and it is scheduled for ONE FALL!!!

(“Headfirst for Halos” by My Chemical Romance hits!!!)

Maria Del Rey: Introducing first from Venice, California weighing in at 203 pounds… “THE MIGHTIEST ONE” JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE SMITHHHHHHHH!!!!

(Jake Smith makes his way down to the ring to boos from the crowd as he cautiously enters the ring as if expecting to be ambushed.)

Knight: This week Jake Smith posed the question “who is Jake Smith?” and if you want to hear his thoughts on that we have it up on the website. Jake Smith has been around for about a month now and last week he picked up a big win over one of his opponents here tonight… Jason Ryan!

Ruggiero: “Who is Jake Smith?” I don’t need to watch that Knight. I have been watching this man in all his matches since his debut. If I want to know who Jake Smith is I will find out through his actions in that ring not his words.

(“DESTROYA” by My Chemical Romance hits!!!)

Maria Del Rey: And his tag team partner from Melbourne, Australia weighing in at 230 pounds… “THE MISSILE” JOSHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUA NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICHOLLLLLLLLLLLSSSSSSS!!!!

(Joshua Nicholls comes out to the ring flying the Australian flag as the Mexico City crowd chants “puto” at him.)

Knight: Damn so homophobic. I hope that we don’t get fined.

Ruggiero: Same. This week Joshua Nicholls says that he will welcome us to the revolution! His partner seems to believe that Jason Ryan has brainwashed Eric Crane and he plans to open his eyes! With a beating!

(“The Night” by Disturbed hits!!!)

Maria Del Rey: And now introducing their opponents… first from Billings, Montana weighing in at 245 pounds… he is “Wrestling’s Redemption” JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASON RYAN!!!!

(Jason Ryan makes his way to the ring with his hands in the air as he declares that he will open the eyes of the fans who continue to boo him.)

Knight: Jason Ryan claims he is no savior! He has simply opened Eric Crane’s eyes!

Ruggiero: He may have opened Crane’s eyes but maybe he should focus on his own! Last week Crane was victorious but Ryan took a hard L! This week tho they have to win as a team which is a whole different animal!

(“Your Betrayal” by Bullet for my Valentine hits!!!)

Maria Del Rey: And his tag team partner from Long Island, New York weighing in at 213 pounds… he is “THE POSSESSED” ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIC CRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRANE!!!

(Eric Crane comes out behind Jason Ryan as he follows him into the ring.)

Knight: Has he been possessed or is this a true partnership?!? We may never know! I think some of the fans are really down with all this Satanic cult shit. I don’t really get it myself it seems a bit fucked up!

Ruggiero: That’s because you are fucked up Knight! Eric Crane won last week and then he and Jason Ryan beat the hell out of Denis Cercel! Whatever they are doing it is clearly working and who the hell are you to criticize?

(DING! DING! DING!)

Knight: We are underway as Eric Crane is all up in here starting things off against Joshua Nicholls! Crane charges in but Nicholls immediately moves out of the way! Crane crashes into the turnbuckle and is thrown back into the ring where he slowly pulls himself back up! But Nicholls is waiting for him as the two men trade strikes in the middle of the ring! Crane gets the advantage with an Uppercut taking Nicholls down to one knee! Crane off the ropes now… Running Dropkick connects taking Nicholls down! The cover!

ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TWO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ruggiero: The kickout by Nicholls! Both men pull themselves back up with Nicholls resting in the corner! Crane not going to allow that as he charges in with a Leaping Forearm! Nicholls falls back as Crane goes up to the top rope… Diving Axe Handle connects just as Nicholls gets back up! Crane not done yet as he continues to drive his elbow into the top of the head of his opponent! Crane pulls Nicholls up… Enzuigiri connects!!! Nicholls sent falling back into his corner as Jake Smith makes the tag! Eric Crane now begging Jason Ryan to come get him! Wait it looks like Jason Ryan is climbing into the ring! They are about to unleash yet another double team beatdown! Not this way!

(“Scars” by I Prevail hits!!!)

Knight: What the hell is he doing here?!?!?

Ruggiero: Here comes Denis Cercel! He is pissed about being beaten down by Eric Crane and Jason Ryan last week! He is out here to interfere!!!

Knight: Wait it looks like he is stopping at ringside! Denis threatening to get involved as Jason Ryan slowly backs out to the apron! Denis making sure that what happened to him does not happen to Jake Smith this week! Jake finally gets into the ring as Eric Crane is shown screaming psychotically at Denis to get out of here! But Jake rolls Eric up from behind!!!

ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TWO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ruggiero: Eric Crane kicks out! Both men immediately get back up as Jake immediately batters Eric back into the corner! Eric is struggling! Hard kick from Jake to Eric who falls down onto hands and knees and takes a hard running punt kick to the gut from Jake! Eric wills himself back up to his feet in the corner but Jake continues to destroy him with kicks to the gut as Eric looks on defenseless!

Jason Ryan: Open your eyes!!!

Knight: Suddenly Eric Crane grabs the leg of Jake Smith and tips him backwards in the ring! It is as if the influence of Jason Ryan helped him to escape that predictament! Jason Ryan truly is opening Eric’s eyes here tonight!

Ruggiero: Eric Crane leaps to his corner and makes the tag to Jason Ryan who enters the ring and immediately knocks Joshua Nicholls off the apron! Joshua falls on the barricade on the outside and looks to be out cold! Jason Ryan grabs Jake Smith as he is signalling for the end here with a cut throat taunt! ENDGAME!!! IT’S OVER!!!

Knight: NO WAIT! DENIS CERCEL IS UP ON THE APRON AND PREVENTED JASON RYAN FROM USING THE MOVE! RYAN DROPS SMITH AS HE CHARGES IN AT DENIS CERCEL! RUNNING CLOTHESLINE!!! BUT DENIS LEAPS OFF THE APRON AND JASON RYAN MISSES!! RYAN SWINGS WILDLY AROUND WITH THAT CLOTHESLINE…

Ruggiero: But Jake Smith was lying in wait! BROKEN WINGS CONNECTS! THE COVER!!!

ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TWO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(DING! DING! DING!)

Maria Del Rey: Here are your winners… the team of JAKE SMITH AND JOSHUA NICHOLLS!!!

(“Headfirst for Halos” by My Chemical Romance hits!!!)

Knight: With the combined power of both members of the team having a My Chemical Romance theme song it looks like Jake Smith and Joshua Nicholls were able to pull out the victory! What teamwork!

Ruggiero: Are you serious Knight? The only reason they won is because of the interference of Denis Cercel! Eric Crane and Jason Ryan were completely screwed over just because Denis was still salty from his beatdown last week! And after this week I sure think he has earned another one!!!

(The camera cuts to a commercial for a special behind the scenes look at the Battleground talent’s time in Mexico featuring former EAW Elitist and longtime stalker Liam Archer being captured and tortured by the cartel.)

(Camera fades backstage to Chase Vantigon on standby)

Chase Vantigon: Ladies and gentlemen please welcome my guest at this time… making his debut tonight, Myles!

(Myles appears in the frame with a serious expression on his face)

Chase Vantigon: Myles, it is my understanding that your signing with EAW has caused quite a stir backstage amongst several elitists, both on Battleground and the main roster, why is that?

Myles: I’ve heard the rumblings and I’ve seen the chatter, but I just chalk it up to the fact that people realize how much of a big deal I am and want me to rub off on them and make them relevant by acknowledging them. I won’t fall into that trap though, with great expectations come a huge target on my back but that means nothing to me, because I only aim for the head.

Chase Vantigon: You come from Australia, a place EAW is no stranger to in terms of talent, how do you plan on sticking out from past Aussie greats and making a path for yourself?

Myles: By doing the same thing I’ve always done… doing the same thing that got me in EAW is what will keep me in EAW, and that is destroying each and every competitor they put in front of me in that ring. I plan on starting that path tonight. I’m not the next Jamie O’Hara or anyone like that, I’m here to pave my own lane and make sure that when it’s all said and done, I shine too bright to live in anyone else’s shadow.

Chase Vantigon: Your opponents tonight as also a couple of fierce competitors, what do you have to say to them?

Myles: Be ready, because I sure am. Between Vizzy and Solomon, I know what they bring to the table because I’ve already seen them in action, and in knowing already what they’re capable of, I must say that I have absolutely nothing to be worried about. They don’t know what I bring to the table because this is the first time anybody gets the fortune of being able to see Myles live and in action. With that all I can say is…. expect the unexpected.

Chase Vantigon: What do you plan on walking away with during your time here on Battleground?

Myles: Well isn’t it obvious? A main roster contract for one. Once I do that it’s no looking back, only forward. I look forward to addressing each and every person who’s had something to say about me whether it be on social media or any other platform, and creating a warpath that can never be followed by anyone else. I’ve come a long way, from Australia, to Mexico, and now I’m here in Newark for one thing and that’s to continue my path of dominance but the difference between then and now, is now I’ll get championships for it.

Chase Vantigon: Thank you for your time. Myles debuts tonight don’t miss it ladies and gentlemen!

(Myles walks off confidently)

( Short commercial break. )

( The camera fades into an outside view of the arena where the fans are heard cheering. )

Clark Ruggerio: And we’re back live here in Newark, New Jersey, ready to get the action back up.

Ben Knight: With a triple threat match!

(DING! DING! DING!)

Maria Del Rey: The following contest is a triple threat match!

(“The Bomb” by Pigeon John blares throughout the arena as Rich Kennedy steps onto the stage. He hypes up the crowd, pointing at them before going down the ramp )

Maria Del Rey: Introducing first! From Buffalo, New York.. Weighing in at 260 pounds…… RIIIIICHHHHHH KENNNNNEDDDY!!!!

Rich Kennedy: Ladies and gentlemen, we have gathered here today to entertain the fine people of Newark. And I aim to please and break knees. Your current entertainment is brought to you by me! R-B-K!

Clark Ruggiero: He aims to please and break knees and tonight he aims to win this triple threat. Rich Kennedy is probably the most charismatic, yet arrogant elitist to ever grace this company. The man known as RBK has an agenda and that agenda is to put smiles on peoples faces while also putting championship titles around his waist.

( “Blood // Water by grandson hits to a mixed reaction as Bowie Gray walks onto a foot with a sinister look on his face. Bowie Gray looks up at the nosebleeds, scanning the crowd with confidence before going down the ramp )

Maria Del Rey: And his opponents! First! From Salem, Massachusetts, weighing in at 185 pounds…. BOOOOWWWWWWIEEEEE GRAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!

Ben Knight: Here is a man who is comfortable in the ring and will have pleasure inflicting pain upon his opponents. Bowie Gray has been known to take out his frustrations in the ring and if today is a bad day for Bowie Gray, god forbid the careers of the other two in this match.

( “Disposable Teens” by Marilyn Manson blasts through the speaker as the light flickers. A spotlight shines onto Celes Dumont who smiles as she looks onto the competitors in the ring )

Maria Del Rey: And! From Junon, Massachusetts, weighing in at 120 pounds.. CELES DUMONT!!

Clark Ruggierio: Celes Dumont ready for combat and as she looks at the competitors that she will face tonight, she looks thrilled to have competition. You act like Bowie Gray is a huge threat in this match environment? Take a look at Celes Dumont. You have a Bowie Gray who takes out his frustration in his ring and you have a Celes Dumont who also shares the same characteristics as Bowie, but Celes has a mindset that will get her to pick up a win here tonight. She’s got an advantage because no matter what her mood is, her tactics and mentality will always reward her with something positive.

( DING! DING! DING! )

Clark Ruggiero: All three competitors at each of their corner. Rich Kennedy the only sane person in this man. Gray and Dumont now looking at each other while Rich Kennedy at the side of the screen, sliding out of the ring.

Ben Knight: Kennedy clearly does not want to do anything with Gray and Dumont but that was probably the best thing he could’ve done as Gray and Dumont looks to have created an alliance. An alliance of sorts in a triple threat and that could mean big, big time trouble for RBK.

Clark Ruggiero: Gray and Dumont now getting out of the ring as Kennedy quickly looks under the ring! RBK looking for a weapon to possibly neutralize Celes and Gray but Gray gets to him quickly! RBK now rolled into the ring as Celes grabs Gray’s feet as he was about to get into the ring! AND THROWS HIM INTO THE STEEL STAIRS! Bowie Gray outsmarted by Celes Dumont and that mistake led to the back of his head being smashed onto the steel stairs!

Ben Knight: Celes Dumont now refocusing his attention onto Rich Kennedy. She’s got to use this temporary advantage to inflict the most damage she can on RBK while she’s got the time. Celes Dumont now sliding into the ring! SLEEPER HOLD! Celes taking too much time and that cost her!

Clark Ruggiero: Kennedy could make Celes go to sleep while he’s got the chance! But Celes flipping Kennedy over her shoulders! Kennedy now getting up as Celes holds her neck after the damage from the sleeper hold!

Ben Knight: Kennedy now on his feet! BIG BOOT!!! No! Celes dodging the attack as Kennedy runs into the ropes! Bowie distracting Kennedy from ringside as RBK flips Celes over and onto the apron! CELES BACKFLIPS OFF THE APRON!! BOWIE CATCHES HER ON HER SHOULDER!!! BOWIE HAS HER IN A PRECARIOUS POSITION!

Clark Ruggiero: RIch Kennedy now looking at the crowd and at Bowie and Celes! What is he thinking here? He runs the ropes… SUICIDE DIVE!!! NO!!!! BOWIE THROWS CELES LIKE A LAWN DART INTO THE INCOMING RICH KENNEDY!

Ben Knight: Bowie tossing Celes into Kennedy like it was nothing and that changes the tide of this match. Changing the advantage in this match and now Bowie taking admiration to his handy work as he begins to pick Celes up.

Clark Ruggiero: Rich Kennedy momentarily out for now as he sits near the barricade after the hellacious lawn dart from Bowie. Now Celes is in trouble and whatever has Bowie has in store could be it! Bowie now picking Celes up in the ring! Celes in trouble! Celes now flipping over Bowie who had her in a suplex position! GERMAN SUPLEX!!! NO!!! BOWIE FLIPS OVER AND LANDS ON HIS TWO FEET!

Ben Knight: SUPERKICK TO THE BACK OF CELES’ HEAD!!! Kennedy perched on the top rope as Bowie turns his attention around! KENNEDY SOARS OFF THE TOP ROPE!! CROSSBODY!!! NO!!! BOWIE TRANSITIONED IT INTO A GUTBUSTER!! GUTBUSTER IN MID AIR! MY GOD!!! Cover!

ONE… TWO..

Clark Ruggiero: Celes Dumont crawling in to break the cover and it works! It probably was the worse situation of her life as Bowie Gray begins to build up frustration and you can easily tell it on his face.

Ben Knight: Yeah, when he found out Celes broke the pinfall, he had a disgusted look on his face. Celes Dumont no doubt, the smallest competitor in this match and you know Bowie Gray will do his best to use that to his advantage. Bowie Gray now back to his original target a.k.a Celes Dumont.

Clark Ruggiero: Bowie Gray now going for the Moment Of Silence submission! He’s trying to fully get it locked in! But Celes fighting out of the hold sending devastating knee strikes to the temple! The knee strikes dont seem to be working but it strengthens the will of Bowie Gray! Bowie now seconds away from locking it in! CELES PINS HIM DOWN!

ONE… TWO… TH

Clark Ruggiero: Close call! Close Cal! Both competitors get up on their feet at the same time! Bowie Grey with a vicious slap across the chest of Celes Dumont that could be heard around the world! Celes responding with an equally devastating slap of their own! Both competitors now charging into each other!

Ben Knight: DOUBLE CLOTHESLINE!!! BOTH WERE LOOKING FOR THE SAME THING BUT THEY ARE STILL BOTH ON THEIR FEET! Celes now wanting more as she yells at Bowie to fight! Bowie now charging into Celes! OH!!! CELES SUCKERED HIM IN!!! KNEE TO THE MIDSECTION OF BOWIE!!

Clark Ruggiero: Celes now following up with an AXE KICK TO THE BACK OF HIS HEAD!!! NOW SPINNING AROUND!!! BOWIE WITH A ROUNDHOUSE KICK TO CELES! GOT HER RIGHT ON THE EAR!!!

Ben Knight: RICH KENNEDY NOW RUNNING INTO THE RING!!! HE GRABS CELES HEAD, JUMPING ONTO THE TURNBUCKLES AND SPINNING AROUND!! HE TAKES OUT BOWIE WITH A SPIN KICK AND DRILLS CELES INTO THE CANVAS WITH A TORNADO DDT!!!
Clark Ruggiero: AND ROLLS IT INTO A GUILLOTINE CHOKE!!!! THIS COULD BE IT!!! Celes Dumont the lightest competitor and this match and that gives her a major disadvantage! And that disadvantage could lead to her tapping out tonight!

Ben Knight: Celes trying to fight out of it but it isn’t enough! Each second that passes, Rich puts more pressure on the neck of Dumont! AND BOWIE GRAY WITH A STEEL CHAIR TO THE BACK OF KENNEDY! THE HOLD IS RELEASED AS CELES ROLLS OUT OF THE RING IN AGONY AS BOWIE IS ON THE MAT IN PAIN!

Clark Ruggiero: Bowie now releasing what is in front of him right now as he drops the steel chair onto the canvas! THIS COULD BE IT!!! HE JUMPS ONTO KENNEDY!!! OHHH KENNEDY WITH A SPINEBUSTER!!! HE SUCKERED HIM RIGHT INTO A SPINEBUSTER!!!

Ben Knight: Kennedy now hyping up the crowd! In the corner as he looks onto Bowie! Could he pull out the Kennedy’s Assassination? It looks like he’s going for it! HE CHARGES INTO BOWIE!!! CELES PICKS HIM UP!!!!! GREETINGS FROM JUNON!! THE F-5 CONNECTS!!!! OH!!! BOWIE IMMEDIATELY TAKING CELES DOWN!!! PARALYZED!! IT CONNECTS!!

ONE… TWO…. THREE!!

(DING! DING! DING!)

Maria Del Rey: Here is your winner! BBBBBOWWWWIEEEE GRAYYY!!!

(“Blood // Water” by grandson blasts through the speaker along with a huge pop. Bowie Gray quickly slides out of the ring and begins to slowly raise his hand.)

Ben Knight: I thought Celes had the match in the hat for a quick second! But Bowie changing the tide in an instant and connecting with his devastating finisher!

Clark Ruggiero: Yes indeed, in a span of 2 minutes, we saw the ball switch hands throughout all the competitors tonight! Kennedy and Dumont showing why they belong in the land of the Elite tonight but Bowie Gray tonight walking out with a huge win tonight!

( Advertisement: Road to Redemption, December 22nd. Don’t miss the epic quad-branded show. Live on Free-Per-View and the EAW Network. )

(Visual Prophet is seen walking backstage with headphones on bumping music in the zone before suddenly he’s bombarded by The Revolution, Joshua Nichols and Jake Smith)

Jake Smith: Yo homie! You go here?

(An annoyed Vizzy reluctantly takes his headphones off to entertain the two)

Vizzy: ……What? :wtf:

Joshua Nichols: Ayo dawg, we wuz jus wonderin if youz a wrestler na mean?!

Vizzy: Stop talkin’ like that for one. For two, what does it matter to you?

Jake Smith: Well it’s not everyday we get old men on a developmental brand ya know? Usually that’s reserved for well….. young people with an actual future like us.

Joshua Nichols: Yeah like Jake said, but hey we probably don’t have to worry about you being an actual wrestler here, you’re one of the new staff members right? Where’s the office?

Vizzy: My office is that ring where if you keep fuckin with me I’ll schedule a meeting with you there. Yeah I’m a little older but I got a lot left in the tank and I’ll be damned if you two mayo boys think you can try to flex on the kid on my first day here. I don’t know how things have been before I came here, but it’s gonna change. You see for one, Battleground has a little culture now in the form of Vizzy, and not only that but it has a surefire star it can bank on.

Jake Smith: Stars? We’ve been here dude! I honestly think you missed the boat a decade or two ago man. Is that grey in your beard?

Vizzy: A lil wisdom ain’t never hurt nobody. Maybe if y’all had some wisdom you wouldn’t be making the grave decision of fucking with me. I suggest you fall back before you end up regretting popping off at somebody who’s gonna pop back.

Joshua Nichols: Is that a threat old man? There’s two of us and there’s one of you… what you gonna do huh?

(The Revolution surrounds Vizzy )

Jake Smith: Not so tough now huh? I suggest y-

(Vizzy cracks Jake Smith smooth in the jaw knocking him to the floor as Joshua immediately goes to check on him.)

Vizzy: Cacs gonna cac.

(Vizzy shakes his head in disappointment and puts his headphones back on and continues walking)

( The camera fades to Maria Del Rey ready to announce the next match. )

( DING! DING! DING! )

Maria Del Rey: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. And it is a triple threat match!

( “Native Blood” by Silent Planet picks up as Solomon Hill makes his way to the ring and the arena give loud boo’s do him. )

Maria Del Rey: Introducing first, from Jerusalem, Israel, weighing in at 253 pounds, SOLOMOOOON HIIIIILLLLL!!!

Clark Ruggerio: A 6’6” beast from Israel, only 23 years old, he really looks like he has no soul.

( “Enemy Strike” by Yuki Hayashi blasts through the speakers as Myles makes his entrance getting cheers by most of the crowd. )

Maria Del Rey: Introducing next, from Melbourne, Australia, weighing in at 208 pounds, MYYLEEEEEES!!!

Ben Knight: Making his debut, Myles looked pretty confident earlier tonight, let’s see if his confidence pays out.

( “Brains Flew By (1964 version)” by Westside Gunn starts playing as Vizzy makes his way to the ring. )

Maria Del Rey: And last but not least, from Long Island, New York, weighing in at 285 pounds, VISUAAAAAL PROPHEEEEEET!!!

Clark Ruggerio: Victorious after last week, here’s Vizzy, the man who gave Jake Smith a punch right on the jaw before getting here. He seems pretty ready to kick ass right now.

( DING! DING! DING! )

Ben Knight: The match has started as Vizzy and Solomon go right after eachother exchanging lefts and rights all over each other as Myles looks carefully. Solomon delivers a big right hand, but Vizzy answers back with one of his own. Solomon now with a forearm on the head and yet again Vizzy answers back with an european uppercut right on the jaw! Nice back and forth action here.

Clark Ruggerio: But look at Myles though who catches Vizzy and connects with a german suplex! He goes after Solomon now BUT SOLOMON GREETS HIM WITH A BIG BOOT RIGHT ON THE FACE! HE HITS A LEG DROP RIGHT AFTER BEFORE VIZZY INTERRUPTS HIM WITH A CLOTHESLINE! VIZZY TAKES SOLOMON OUTSIDE OF THE RING BUT OUT OF NOWHERE MYLES WITH A BRIDGING GERMAN SUPLEX!

Ref: ONE!!.. TWO!!..

Ben Knight: Kickout by Vizzy! Myles fighting passive but he almost got the win. I like how he’s playing it, really nice job by him. Vizzy gets back on his feet as he goes for the forearm, but Myles ducks down as he bounces off the ropes and connects with a dropkick on Vizzy who lays down on the side of the ring. Myles isn’t done yet AS HE GOES FLYING TO THE OUTSIDE WITH A SUICIDE DIVE! SOLOMON IS NOW KNOCKED OUT COLD.

Clark Ruggerio: Myles gets back on the ring but Vizzy connects with a kick to the knee and lifts him up connecting with a bodyslam! Vizzy irish whips Myles to the corner and begins to deliver chops across the chest of Myles. However it doesn’t last too long as Solomon gets back in the ring where Vizzy tries to side kick him on the face, but Solomon dodges and connects with a discus clothesline dropping Vizzy down. Myles is still on the corner as Solomon irish whips Vizzy to the other corner!

Ben Knight: Solomon Hill might have something crazy in his mind right now! SECOND WIND TO VIZZY AND A SECOND WIND TO MYLES TOO! MY GOD HE CRUSHED THEM BOTH WITH THE SAME MOVE! SOLOMON TRIES THE COVER ON MYLES!

Ref: ONE!!.. TWO!!.. TH-

Ben Knight: Kickout by Myles! Solomon goes for the cover on Vizzy!

Ref: ONE!!.. TWO!!.. THRE-

Clark Ruggerio: And this time the kickout by Vizzy! Solomon couldn’t get the win right now and he seems upset about it! He grabs Myles and headbutt’s him before smashing him to the corner and makes a few steps back BEFORE CONNECTING WITH THE CANNONBALL ON MYLES! MYLES IS FALLEN ON THE CORNER AS SOLOMON FURIOUSLY BEGINS TO CHOKE HIM ON THE ROPES! PURE BRUTALITY!

Ben Knight: Solomon throws Myles out of the ring and turns his attention to Vizzy, who just got on his feet and connects with a snap DDT on Vizzy planting him down! Solomon with the leg drop as he has Vizzy in the middle of the ring! This could mean trouble for Vizzy, but what’s Solomon thinking? He starts climbing the top rope!

Clark Ruggerio: 450 SPLASH! NO, OH MY GOODNESS! VIZZY GOT OUT OF THE WAY AND SOLOMON CRASHED DOWN THE MAT! HE’S SCREAMING IN PAIN! VIZZY WAITS FOR SOLOMON TO SLOWLY GET ON HIS FEET AND AS SOON AS HE DOES VIZZY PLACES ONE HAND TO THE THROAT! THEN THE OTHER HAND! 99 PROBLEMZ!!! THE TWO HANDED CHOKESLAM CONNECTS, IT’S OVER! VIZZY DROPS FOR THE COVER!

Ben Knight: But what the hell?! The Revolution comes out on the stage and approach the ring! The referee is warning them! Vizzy abandons the cover and gets closer to them.

Vizzy *off mic*: Stay the fuck out of my business, fuckboys!

Clark Ruggerio: OH BUT LOOK, FROM BEHIND MYLES WITH A CLOTHESLINE TO THE BACK OF THE HEAD SENDING VIZZY CRASHING ON THE OUTSIDE! MYLES REALISES HE HAS SOLOMON LAYING DOWN MOTIONLESS AND GOES FOR THE COVER!

Ref: ONE!!.. TWO!!.. THREE!!..

( DING! DING! DING! )

( “Enemy Strike” by Yuki Hayashi blasts once again as the referee raises Myles’ hand in victory. )

Maria Del Rey: Here is your winner by pinfall, MYLEEEEEEEESSS!!!

Clark Ruggerio: Not a very long match, but what a way to win from Myles. Just like earlier, he kept fighting passive and used the circumstances in his advantage. Well played by him.

Ben Knight: But look at The Revolution! Jake Smith grabs Vizzy by the hair and yells at his face!

Jake Smith *off mic*: You’re not so tough now, huh? You thought you could get away with that?

( Jake Smith sends Vizzy smashing to the steel steps as him and Josh leave and the referee goes checking on Vizzy. )

Clark Ruggerio: The Revolution got their revenge after what Vizzy did to Jake Smith before the match started, but I don’t think that’s going to end here.

Ben Knight: It may not end here but Vizzy surely needs someone to help him take The Revolution out. 2 vs 1 is not an easy situation to deal with.

( The camera shows The Revolution disappearing backstage as the camera fades to black. )

( Commercial break. )

( The camera fades back to the arena showing the ramp from upside as “Mein Hertz Brennt” by Rammenstein blasts through the speakers and Xavier Arnold comes out with a mic on his hand making his way to the ring. )

Xavier Arnold: I have to admit, the last couple of weeks have been a struggle for me. I started off on fire, but lately my plans didn’t go as expected. I said I was going to be the best in here and I did that by getting the most points out of them all. But soon after everything collapsed and I’m standing here, talking to you about my failures. This isn’t a new situation for me. I’ve been past this before, even when I was on the main roster. But guess what, I didn’t quit and I came back stronger than ever. That’s what I’m doing yet again. I’ll not let this losing streak ruin my career, not for any reason in the world. I’m destined to be the greatest and I’ll prove I’m the greatest.

( Xavier smirks before he starts speaking again. )

Xavier Arnold: To be the greatest, I need to compete against the greatest. Here on Battleground, I don’t really see competition worth my time, so I NEED to get on the main roster. This is where everything takes shape. Xavier Arnold to the main roster: coming soon! I’ll beat everyone thrown in my way, get those points and move up to finally fulfil my objective. This is not only a promise, this is a fact. Be prepared for it and don’t ever doubt me. Period.

( Xavier drops the mic down and “Mein Hertz Brennt” by Rammenstein plays once again as Xavier gets out of the arena. )

( A recap of Johnny Walker moments in Battleground flashes through the screen before the camera fades to Maria Del Rey. )

( DING! DING! DING! )

Maria Del Rey: The following contest is scheduled for one fall…

Crowd: ONE FALL!

(“Sleep Apnea” by Chevelle begins to play throughout the arena as Kaiva Santos makes her way out on the stage, shadow boxing as the intro builds up. She receives a mixed reaction from the crowd.)

Maria Del Rey: Introducing first, from Sao Paulo, Brazil, weighing in at one-hundred and twenty-eight pounds, she is the Devil’s Daughter—KAAAIIIVVAAAAA SAAAAAAANTOOOOSSS!

Ben Knight: Nothing but ruthless aggression seen from The Devil’s Daughter, Kaiva Santos, who’s looking to continue her winning streak here tonight against the bold newcomer, Karina Ann!

Clark Ruggerio: I know Kaiva is gonna have her work cut out for her tonight, Ben! Karina made a very impressive debut last week against not two, but three opponents in a fatal four way! Not only that, but she displayed some amazing confidence by interrupting Kaiva Santos last week. I certainly don’t have the balls for that.

Ben Knight: You call it confidence, I call it stupidity. Kaiva has been unstoppable so far here in Battleground, and Karina hasn’t necessarily been welcomed with open arms by one of Empire’s soon to be top stars. Hell, Kaiva looks and acts like she’s championship material already! Karina is gonna have to bring that same energy if she has any chance at bringing down Kaiva.

(Kaiva makes her way up onto the apron, hopping in place for a moment before entering the ring. She shadow boxes some more once in the middle of the ring as her music dies down.)

(“Siren Assassin” by Kristine Elezaj kicks up as Karina Ann pops out from behind the curtain, arms raised in the air with a smile on her face. She’s met with a chorus of boos from the fans in attendance. She poses on the stage before strutting down the ring, hands on her hips.)

Maria Del Rey: And her opponent, from Montreal, Quebec, Canada weighing in at one-hundred and twenty pounds, KAAAARRIIIINNAAAA AAAAAAAANNNNNN!

Clark Ruggerio: Karina-Ann all smiles tonight! She’s certainly still feeling that post-victory high!

Ben Knight: And Kaiva has every intention of wiping that confident smile right off of her face—just look at her, like a shark in the waters, waiting for the right moment to strike!

(Karina jogs up the steel steps and enters the ring through the middle rope, showing off her long legs for the crowd. As soon as she enters the ring, Kaiva charges after her, the referee being forced to stand in between the two to prevent an altercation before the match even begins.)

Ben Knight: And Kaiva looking to waste zero time in this matchup—I think some of those things we heard Karina say to Kaiva over the course of the week might’ve gotten under her skin!

(Kaiva continues to talk smack as the ref backs her away. Karina watches on and laughs at Kaiva. She playfully pouts and mocks Kaiva by pretending to wipe her tears with balled up hands.)

(Ding! Ding! Ding!)

Clark Ruggerio: The referee calls for the bell, getting this heavily anticipated matchup underway! Kaiva and Karina begin to circle around each other before meeting in the middle of the ring for an elbow and shoulder tie up! Karina’s height giving her a bit of the advantage here, as Kaiva needs to stand on her toes in order to maintain the hold on Karina! Kaiva, still locked in, gives Karina a few swift knee strikes to the abdomen, forcing Karina to loosen the hold to protect herself—Karina backs off, using the ropes to hold herself up as Kaiva continues with the onslaught of knee attacks! Karina falls to the mat, hands over her face!

Ben Knight: Karina trying to do what she can to defend herself here, Kaiva showing no sign of backing down as she lands a few more kicks onto Karina—Karina gets a hand on the ropes behind her, the ref finally stepping in here, causing Kaiva to back down. Karina, turning her back to Kaiva, tries to use the top rope for leverage here to pull herself back up—KAIVA WITH A GERMAN SUPLEX! PULLING KARINA OFF OF THE ROPES AND PLANTING HER ONTO THE MAT! Kaiva got a hold of Kaiva’s waist, and she doesn’t let go! A beautiful bridge for the cover!

Referee: ONEEE!!… TWOOO!!…

Clark Ruggerio: Kick out by Karina! Kaiva stands up, with a hard kick to the back of Karina-Ann! And another! And ANOTHER! Karina looks hurt, Ben, and Kaiva is loving every minute of this—Kaiva with a quick kick to Karina’s skull! The ref didn’t like that one, Ben, he forces Kaiva back! Kaiva’s on a rampage, she’s looking for an absolute brawl here tonight!

Kaiva Santos: LET’S GO, BITCH! SQUARE UP! SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT!

Ben Knight: Kaiva taking a moment to taunt Karina here who’s currently being checked out by the ref—Kaiva posing at the ropes, adding insult to injury as a handful of fans cheer her on! Kavia looking great, so far, Clark—Karina’s slowly getting up here, using the corner turnbuckle for support. Not sure if that corner is a good place to be, Clark—here comes Kaiva, charging after her, looking for a spear—BUT KARINA DODGES! SENDING KAIVA STRAIGHT INTO THAT STEEL RING POST!

Clark Ruggerio: Karina dodging out of harm’s way! She takes a moment to gather herself while she can as Kaiva winces in pain, grabbing onto that left shoulder! Kaiva turns around from the turnbuckle, still holding that arm—but Karina shoves her back into the turnbuckle corner, Karina building up some momentum here—FOR A RUNNING HIGH SPIN KICK! WOW! What a beautiful kick! And Karina regaining her balance and she extends that leg into a foot choke! Kaiva wriggling in the corner as Karina uses the ropes for leverage to slow down Kaiva! The referee begins the count—

Referee: ONE!!…TWO!!…THREE!!…

Ben Knight: Karina breaks the choke right before four to avoid a disqualification, lowering her leg, backing away, arms held up in surrender as the referee warns her to keep off the ropes! Kaiva’s fallen down on her knees, trying to regain her composure—but Karina won’t give her the opportunity to get back up on her own, grabbing Kaiva by the hair and pulling her towards the middle of the ring, with some hard forearms to the back of the neck! Karina sets herself up—JUMPING ARMBREAKER TO THE INJURED ARM OF KAIVA SANTOS! KAIVA’S DOWN, IN PAIN, AND SHE GOES FOR THE COVER—

Referee: ONEEE!!… TWOOO!!…

Clark Ruggerio: But it’s gonna take more to put away Kaiva Santos, with a kick out at two! Karina going for the cover again?! This time she hooks the leg—

Referee: ONEEE!!

Clark Ruggerio: And a kickout at one! Karina clearly looking frustrated here—you gotta appreciate Kaiva’s resiliency in this one, Ben!

Ben Knight: I wouldn’t expect any less from The Devil’s Daughter!

Clark Ruggerio: Karina looking to pull Kaiva up once again—BUT KAIVA COUNTERS WITH AN UPPERCUT! AND SHE FOLLOWS UP WITH A DROPKICK! Right to the mouth of Karina-Ann, who falls backwards onto the ropes—AND KAIVA LAYING INTO KARINA-ANN WITH SOME MORE OF THOSE UNFORGIVING KNEE STRIKES TO THE MIDSECTION! Karina not looking good here at all, Ben. The ref forces Kaiva away for the second time in this matchup, Kaiva looking to showboat some more as the fans cheer her on! She runs to the ropes, looking to gain some speed here—BUT KARINA COUNTERS WITH A ROUNDHOUSE KICK! KNOCKING KAIVA DOWN TO THE GROUND!

Ben Knight: WHAT A COUNTER BY KARINA ANN! Kaiva is down and out! Karina goes to pick her up by the hurt arm, Kaiva on spaghetti legs here—Karina is setting up for it—we’ve seen this before—THE MONEY SHOT! THE SNAP DDT CONNECTS! KAIVA WENT HEADFIRST INTO THE MAT, AND SHE’S FLATTENED OUT FROM THE IMPACT! KARINA GOES FOR THE COVER!

Referee: ONEEE!!… TWOOO!!… THREEEE!!

(Ding! Ding! Ding!)

(“Siren Assassin” picks back up as the referee raises Karina’s hand in victory. She smiles and grabs the back of her neck, looking down at Kaiva on the center of the mat.)

Maria Del Rey: Here is your winner, by pinfall, KAAAARRIINNNAAA AAAAANNNNN!

Clark Ruggerio: What an incredible performance by our female talent here tonight, Ben. Kudos to Karina for ending Kaiva’s winning streak, and staking her claim to fame in EAW!

Ben Knight: Can’t say that I’m too upset about the outcome of this one, Clark. Karina has certainly showed us tonight that she’s more than meets the eye. Some amazing things are sure to come from these two women in the near future—and I can’t wait for it!

(The camera focuses on Kaiva Santos who is now standing in the ring, fuming with rage as she holds onto her hurt shoulder. She leans over the ropes to throw some more insults at Karina-Ann walking up the ramp. We see Karina-Ann smiling and flipping her hair as the camera transitions.)

( Commercial break. )

Maria Del Rey: Here is your winner by pinfall.. JOHNNNYYYY WALKERRRRR!!!!!!

Ben Knight: What a match, but what the hell is with Shane? They have a ladder match this week for the No.1 contendership at the New Breed Title, but I didn’t expect him to get it this far, even on Battleground.

Clark Ruggiero: Damon was robbed of a damn victory. Shane better have realize what he got himself into. On Showdown it’s going to be a massacre.

( Short commercial break showing the highlights of the tag team grand prix matches so far. )

( The camera fades backstage where Chase Vantigon is going after Shane Gates who is leaving the arena. )

Chase Vantigon: Mr. Gates! Mr. Gates! Do you have a minute please?

Shane Gates: What do you want?

Chase Vantigon: Why did you attack your former partner, Damon Diesel tonight? Considering you have a match on Showdown you could’ve settled your business there.

Shane Gates: Why did I do it? Because I’m sick of that cunt. He thinks he is the best of the best, but without me, he’s just a piece of shit. That has been proven. My hate towards him has developed so much that I couldn’t wait till Saturday and gave him a lesson. You can also call it a Saturday Night Showdown preview, but add the part where I climb the ladder and get the contract. That’s all you must know. Au revoir!

( Shane leaves as Chase Vantigon stands by before the camera cuts back to the ring. )

( DING! DING! DING! )

Maria Del Rey: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and it is a Tag Team Grand Prix match!

( “Animal” by Neon Trees blasts through the speakers as Clara Lovelace and Consuela Rose Ava come out on the stage delivering high-fives to the fans making their way to the ring. )

Maria Del Rey: Introducing first, the team of Clara Lovelace and Consuela Rose Ava, SUPEEER MEEGAAAA GIRLZZZZZZZ!!!

Clark Ruggerio: Here we are as per usual in our tag team main event as we have a very interesting matchup coming next. Another match for the first round of the Tag Team Grand Prix, which team will be able to advance to the next round?

Ben Knight: I think that is pretty obvious, Clark. You have a good team in the SuperMegaGirlz, but when you look at The Canadian Dream, you see the Answers World Champion and half of the Empire Tag Team Champions. I think on paper The Canadian Dream got this.

( “Bloodfeather” by Highly Suspect starts playing as The Canadian Dream comes out on the stage flexing with their titles, looking confident as they see the SuperMegaGirlz right in the eye and smile at them. )

Maria Del Rey: Introducing their opponents, the team of The EAW Answers World Champion, Theron Nikolas and one half of the Empire Tag Team Champions, Cleopatra, THEEEE CANADIAAAAN DREAAAAAAM!

Clark Ruggerio: Look at that team! The former King of Elite who became Answers World Champion by beating Darkane and the newly crowned Empire Tag Team Champion at Bloodletter are looking strong tonight as they prepare to advance to the next round.

Ben Knight: I said The Canadian Dream looked better on paper, but in a tag team match you never know. The team needs the chemistry between eachother and we’re yet to see if they have it, so let’s not jump into conclusions and see who will advance to the second round.

( DING! DING! DING! )

Clark Ruggerio: Consuela and Cleo are kicking the match off as they both make tactical moves not rushing the attack. However Cleo is able to take Consuela down to her knees and applies the chinlock on Consuela, who extends her arms trying to escape, but Cleo doesn’t give up. Consuela almost gets on her feet, but Cleo gets her arm closer to Consuela’s throat and locks the arm in, but Consuela flips Cleo over on her back!

Ben Knight: Nice reversal by Consuela Rose Ava who starts an assault of kicks to the back of Cleo as she charges to the ropes and connects with a boot to the face of Cleo dropping her down! Consuela tags Clara in as Clara enters the ring and hard stomps Cleo a few times before she runs to the ropes and connects with a running knee drop! Cleopatra is having a tough time right now and Clara lifts Cleo up for the powerslam, but no, Cleo escapes as she drops down AND MAKES THE TAG TO THERON NIKOLAS! THERON CHARGES DIRECTLY TO CLARA WHO TRIES TO GET HER WITH THE CLOTHESLINE, BUT THERON DUCKS AS HE BOUNCES OF THE ROPES AND CONNECTS WITH A FLYING FOREARM!

Clark Ruggerio: The Canadian Dream are back in this and The Answers World Champion looks fired up! Theron irish whips Clara to the corner AND CONNECTS WITH A FLYING DROPKICK SMASHING CLARA ON THE CORNER AND CAUSING HER TO FALL DOWN SENSELESS! THERON COVERS!

Ref: ONE!!.. TWO!!..

Ben Knight: Kickout by Clara! Theron is on absolute fire right now as he clearly left an impact on Clara who is trying to make the tag to Consuela, but Theron drags her by the leg to his corner where he tags Cleo which is now legal in this match. Clara barely gets on her feet as Cleo bounces off the ropes and the diving crossbody from Cleopatra takes Clara down… wait, no, Clara catched her mid-air AND CONNECTS WITH A POWERSLAM ON CLEO! CLARA MAKES THE TAG TO CONSUELA!

Clark Ruggerio: Finally Clara makes the tag as Consuela goes on a raid of kicks and stomps to Cleopatra and she lifts her up TO CONNECTS WITH A DDT PLANTING CLEO DOWN! CONSUELA NOW CLIMBS THE MIDDLE ROPE AS THE CROWD GETS ELECTRIFIED AND CONSUELA HYPES THEM UP EVEN MORE! CONSUELA GOES FOR THE MISSLE DROPKICK BUT FALLS ON HER BACK! CLEO MOVED IN THE LAST SECOND AND WAS ABLE TO AVOID THE DISASTER!

Ben Knight: Cleo gets Consuela on her feet and delivers those big right hands to her as she irish whips Consuela to the corner and connects with a clothesline to the corner. Cleo drags Consuela back as she connects with a belly to belly suplex and runs towards Clara taking her down too, before she uses the ropes TO CONNECTS WITH A SUICIDE DIVE TO CLARA ON THE OUTSIDE! Smart move by Cleopatra. She now gets back on the ring as she grabs Consuela AND CONNECTS WITH A BRIDGING FISHERMAN SUPLEX ON CONSUELA!

Ref: ONE!!.. TWO!!.. THR-

Clark Ruggerio: And the kickout by Consuela! Cleo almost got the cover but she’s not done as she tags in Theron Nikolas. Theron grabs Consuela and connects with a deadlift german suplex! Consuela gets quickly on her feet and so does Theron who goes for the lariat, but no, Consuela ducks down as SHE GOES FOR THE FLYING CLOTHESLINE, BUT THERON DUCKS TOO AND CONNECTS WITH A SUPERKICK! MY GOD WHAT AN IMPACT! THERON GOES FOR THE COVER!

Ben Knight: NO, CLARA GETS INSIDE THE RING AND STOPS THERON FROM GETTING THE COVER! CLARA HIT THERON ON THE BACK OF THE HEAD AND THERON IS HOLDING IT IN PAIN, WHILE CLEO GETS INSIDE THE ROPES AND STARTS FIGHTING WITH CLARA! BOTH WOMEN EXCHANGING LEFTS AND RIGHTS BUT CLEO GETS THE UPPER HAND AND BOTH GO OUTSIDE OF THE RING KEEPING UP THE FIGHT!

Clark Ruggerio: BUT LOOK AT CONSUELA! SHE CLIMBED THE TOP ROPE AND SHE’S GOING FOR A DROPPING ELBOW, BUT NO, OH MY GOD! THERON GOT HIS KNEE’S UP AS CONSUELA SENDS CRASHING DOWN THE MAT! THIS IS GOLDEN FOR THERON! HE GOES FOR THE COVER!

Ref: ONE!!.. TWO!!.. THREE!!…

( DING! DING! DING! )

( “Bloodfeather” by Highly Suspect blasts through the speakers as Theron Nikolas gets on his feet celebrating the victory as Cleopatra joins him soon after. )

Maria Del Rey: Here are your winners by pinfall, THE CANADIAAAAN DREAAAAAAM!!!

Ben Knight: They got it! Just like that Theron Nikolas hurt Consuela and was able to get the cover. Great awareness by the Answers World Champion as they advance to the next round.

Clark Ruggerio: Impressive performance by Theron and Cleo and I’ve just been notified they will be facing the World Heavyweight Champion, Rex McAllister and The New Breed Champion, Raven Roberts. All the competitors are EAW champions, I’m excited for this match. However that’s it for tonight, from me Clark Ruggerio and my colleague Ben Knight, goodnight and we’ll catch you the next time.

Ben Knight: Peace!

( EAW Logo buzzes! )
